Hey guys!
We're back! And one day early, look at us, doing the bare minimum :)
-Twisted
The staff they were making for Yensid was a lot more complicated than either one of them meant for it to be.
Every draft they worked on became more and more intricate.
At this point she couldn't tell if she or Gil was the one driving the changes.
Gil always threw himself into his projects when he was worried, and he had more than enough to worry over.
They all were worried about the Spider and how that would be taken, but Gil also had his family to think of.
What would happen if Gaston attacked the Spider?
She cringes away from giant spider filled images.
Nothing good.
And Gil knew that could potentially happen.
Her gaze darts to where he was sitting, legs hanging over the edge of their forge cave as he worked to sand the driftwood smooth.
He seemed completely focused, intent to make the staff perfect.
She smiles before she picks up a gemstone and gathers another blob of molten glass.
She wasn't any better.
It was hard to picture something good enough for the man who encouraged her to follow her heart.
Encouraged her writing.
Mentioned writing to the King, as if it were the most normal of things to do.
Write to a King.
If it weren't for Yensid, would she have believed she could help?
Make a difference?
She already knew the answer.
No.
She owed him so much, yet all he ever asked from her was that she continue to be the best she could be.
And occasionally boil water for tea.
She snorts as she continues to weave the gemstone into the delicate glass strands around a larger fire orb.
Tiger eye. That's what Faustina called the beautiful amber striped crystal.
She glances towards the notebook, looking over the list of properties
This one was supposed to help with inner strength and power while defusing dark energy.
She never would have guessed rocks, albeit pretty rocks, held or at least promoted magical essences.
Or-
She crinkles her nose.
-why her father would have kept them.
Not that she was complaining.
The deal Faustina had with her father was-
Bizarre?
Completely.
It was also painful.
Like the deals with T hadn't been bad enough.
Pain lodges in her chest.
What did her father see in them that she didn't have?
"Poseidon fuckin' dammit!"
She turns in concern, mirroring Gil as he looked up as well.
That certainly carried.
Last she checked Uma was still by the pool running drills.
She quickly sets her project to the side and reaches up.
"C'mon," Gil grabs her hand, "'fore she starts throwin' stuff."
She bites her lip as they race down the stairs.
Because getting scared by the Captain while you're trying to learn to swim wasn't traumatizing.
Her hand tightens around Gil's fingers.
She wasn't going to start yelling, was she?
She grimaces as the slew of curses grows louder.
"That doesn't sound-"
She squeaks as Gil scoops her up, "nope."
"Nope it doesn't sound good, or nope I'm not allowed to be on my feet?"
"Yes."
She sighs as she wraps her arms around his neck, "fair."
She automatically pulls one hand through the hair peeking out from under his cap, twisting his curls around her fingers.
"Captain," Gil skids to a halt.
"He fuckin' snatched T up and walked off arguin' about-" Uma's eyes widen once she turns and sees them.
Great.
He could only be her father.
She sighs at the look on Uma's face.
And it had something to do with her.
Gil takes a deep breath, his heart racing against her hand. "Wha-" He groans as his head falls back so he's staring at the rock above them.
"What is he trying to get T to do?" She scoffs before her eyes widen, "did they get a chance to bring the Spider out?"
Had they missed the opportunity to use the Spider's name?
"They didn't fucking say." Uma scowls as she grips the handle of her whip.
She turns back to Gil, "put me down, I've gotta make him let T go."
"Like the fuck you are," Uma snaps, "fuck only knows when we're gettin' T back. I ain't lettin' him hold you hostage too."
"Uma! We need the Spider. We need that distraction and we need the deal Faustina made with my father," she reminds them as she pushes against Gil's chest.
"Don't go anywhere." Uma demands as she storms out of the cave.
"But-"
"No, no." Gil shakes his head, "she'll be back in a minute."
She groans as she presses her face to his shoulder.
They needed T and Faustina to make the plan work.
They needed the Spider to contest Gaston so the Isle would be torn about who to follow.
So much depended on them.
Why the fuck would her father interfere with their plans?
She closes her eyes before she presses the heels of her hands into them, half listening as Gil tells the group to head back to the ship.
She watches in silence as everyone quickly runs to the dingy.
Gil winces as a resounding crack echoes around them.
She swallows hard as she fights tears gathering in her eyes.
"Jus' give her a minute." Gil kisses the top of her head. "She's jus' frustrated."
"Me too," she huffs.
"I'm sorry, Treasure," he sighs as he lowers her to her feet.
She balls her hands into fists at her sides as she stares at the ground.
What was her father doing?
He made a deal with Faustina.
Not to mention the deal she had with her father prevented him from hurting T.
From hurting any kid.
Gil lets out a deep breath when they hear glass hitting rock.
There had to be something she could do.
Something that didn't involve her running off and upsetting her family.
"Where's the notebook?" She demands.
"The forge. Ours are at least."
She shakes her head. "Not those."
Gil groans, "on the ship."
Which wasn't here, and here was where Uma said to stay.
She growls in frustration before turning to glare at the ship.
She was going to start carrying that stupid thing around with her.
Uma growls as she storms back into the room, her cheeks still darkened. "Okay. Fuckin' Hades has T. Harry went after him. James and Beam followed after," she explains tightly, "so, fine. You want to go to the temple? We're going to the fucking temple."
She blinks at Uma as her head shakes, though she could tell it was almost imperceptible. "But, if it's just me we all know what he'll want-"
Uma holds up her hand. "No. I'm going. Or no one's going. The end."
She slowly closes her mouth, the argument she desperately wanted to make quelling under Uma's look.
She recognized it.
Determination.
Stubbornness.
Desperation.
She drops her gaze and nods, "okay. Let's go."
What else was she supposed to say?
It was too late to run and do it herself.
Too late to protect her family from whatever new game her father was playing.
"But," she sighs before she looks up again, "but if I do have to try to take the cuffs off, please leave."
She had to ask.
Beg.
She could handle so much, but not their looks if they watched.
It was hard enough to get Gil to leave when it was just the two of them.
Uma scowls at the sea, before she turns to her. "Fine. Five minutes."
She blinks the blurriness from her eyes before she turns to Gil, "if, and only if, it comes to it. Okay?"
Gil huffs but nods his head.
"Should we tell Yensid?" She asks as she turns back to the ship.
"Gil." Uma points to the corner where her bag was.
"On it." He nods.
She rolls her lips together as she watches Uma.
Something was more.
She'd seen reactions to her being taken by her father.
Uma seemed just as explosive as Gil had been.
"I-" she sighs before she crosses the distance between them and takes Uma's hand, "it's going to be okay. We'll figure out what he's doing and get T back. It's hard to be entertaining if T isn't free to, be T."
Uma scowls, "an' when he gets bored of T? What then?"
"T can't help himself. His ideas are always at the very least entertaining. And whatever he has with Faustina doesn't seem to be about entertainment," she looks away before she can swallow the painful lump in her throat, "I think he genuinely likes her."
Uma frowns as she looks her up and down before she steps forwards and wraps her arms around her and squeezes tightly.
"She's easy to like, ya know." She fights through the building tears.
This was stupid.
This was so stupid.
She was not jealous of their relationship.
"Baby Girl," Uma sighs as tension seeps from her and she rubs her back. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be," she forces a smile as she looks up, though she can't meet Uma's eyes, "it's useful."
Uma lifts her eyes brow as she cups her cheek and forces her to look at her. "Doesn't mean it don't hurt."
"It's just confusing." She chuckles, "but what about Hades isn't? It's all a big fucking game. It's all for his entertainment."
Uma frowns as her eyes soften, "Deez," she sighs, "I get it. I do. I still don't know how I feel 'bout my mother and T's relationship. It was disturbing."
"That's fair," she nods earnestly, "that was a scary thing to find out. Your mother is terrifying."
Gil snorts, "everything T does is scary."
"Also fair." She nods again before she drags a hand across her face, "ready?"
Uma runs her hands down her arms before she takes both her hands and squeezes, "you don't have to go."
"Yes, I do," she laces her fingers with Uma's, "it's what family does."
And T was every bit their family, even if he still struggled with finding his place.
A place where he was more than just a protector.
A place where he was safe.
A place where people protected him too.
Uma sighs as she lets go of one of her hands.
"Then let's get going. It's already past noon."
Why?
Just why.
He hated taking his Treasure to the temple.
And now Uma demanded to join them.
He sighs as he watches both his Captain and Treasure's backs.
Just-
Why?
He scowls.
Because T had gone and T'd all over the place.
He had no doubt in his mind T had stepped over a line-
That's why they were here, trudging to the temple.
But since Senior hadn't murdered him in a fit of rage…
-he doubted he was going to kill him.
So why?
Why was this happening?
Why were Uma and Deez so insistent?
T got into this mess-
And as obnoxious as it was-
They all knew Senior, for whatever reason, treated their Problem Child differently.
Hell, it was half the reason he'd gotten that nickname.
But for the love of any sea god listening-
Let T have known not to piss him off before they pulled off the plan.
They'd put so much work and effort into it.
Had so much riding on it.
His eyes narrow.
But couldn't Faustina talk with him?
He shakes his head before he can think to hard on it.
Still-
Would she have let him ruin one of their few chances of survival?
So-
"Look prick-"
He sighs.
Of course.
Despite himself, he can't help but feel relieved.
Ahead of him, Deez shakes her head before she begins to trudge up the stairs ahead of Uma.
"-you don't have any fuckin' room to talk. You've set the bar for fuckin' angsty."
"Did she have to define that one for you too?"
T scoffs, "I know words."
"Uh-huh." Senior deadpans.
He slaps a hand to his face before he drags it down.
Senior didn't need to kill him.
Not if Uma got to him first.
Why?
Why was he just so damn stubborn-
-Or stupid.
With T, those lines always seemed to blur.
He sighs as he moves to place his hand on Uma's shoulder, but when he gets a better look at her profile he hesitates.
He'd been expecting rage.
But she looked bewildered.
What kind of argument had she been expecting?
"Captain?" He pokes after a moment.
Where had all her anger gone?
"Aye?" Uma asks from the side of her lips without taking her eyes off of Deez's back.
"Nothin'." He drops his hand.
Senior could probably hear them.
Better to just keep his concern to himself.
"Huh? Is that momma squid I hear grumping up my stairs?"
"Bull shit she is- you're just pissy."
"Hoohooohooohooo this is gonna be so goooooooooooood!"
"I don't like that tone."
Bet he didn't.
He snorts.
Deez stops just a few steps ahead of them, one hand propped on the wall beside the entrance to the temple and takes a deep breath.
He wraps an arm around her shoulders and pulls her to his side before watching her closely.
She was clearly working something out.
He wanted so bad to ask her how she was handling this-
But with Senior probably eavesdropping-?
"It's going to be okay."
He watches as her face shifts slightly, her far gazing eyes focusing on him as her lips curve in a small smile, "thank you."
"Of course." He grins as he kisses the top of her head.
Hades gags as he walks into view, holding his arm up in an 'x'. "No. No. That's a dumb Lover Boy. No PDA." He covers his eyes. "Ew."
T snorts as he turns back to the room, "an' I thought your performance was extra."
"Don't ya know how ta shut the fuck up?"
"I mean… When it matters."
He groans.
And he was the dumb one?
"Hey!" Deez glares as she pushes out of his arms and turns to stab a finger in the air at Senior, "no! Don't you fucking dare call him dumb!"
No.
Nope.
He wanted her to have as little engagement as possible.
Like hell was she dying on this hill.
Still, that didn't stop the warmth in his chest.
He was happy that she would.
But not with him.
"Deez," He rushes out, "it's okay."
"Ehh, fine fine fine. No more kissing her in my presence and we have a deal."
Deez glares, "and another thing. Why are you T-taking?"
"Cause he's a mouthy little asshole." Hades scoffs. "You're welcome."
"FOR THE LAST TIME I HAD IT HANDLED!"
He sighs as he drops his head.
Why?
"Can someone please explain to me what the fuck is going on!?" Uma finally snaps as she tugs her braids.
"Wait. No…" T hangs his head back with a groan, "fuck me."
He lifts his eyebrow, that-
That was a first.
T never sounded this-
Concerned?
That didn't sound right?
Caught?
-when one of them were there.
Senior laughs as he looks back over his shoulder, "should'da believed me."
Deez shakes her head as she crosses her arms over her chest, "what do you want for them?"
Senior taps his chin curiously before he turns and walks, grabbing T by the hood to pull him from the temple floor, "c'mon, I don't have all day."
"The fuck you do-" T pauses before he snaps his mouth shut.
Deez sighs before she sets her shoulder and follows.
"You too Momma Squid, Lover Boy."
"They don't need to see." Deez stops and looks over her shoulder at them.
"Ssshh- Still thinking." Senior waves her off.
"Thinking?"
"Duh," Hades rolls his eyes, "gotta make this good. So many things, ya know."
Deez sighs, but doesn't say another word as she continues.
Uma growls as she glares at his back before she follows.
He quickly falls into step behind her.
He'd been trying so hard to remember his conversation with Deez.
Working to always give T the benefit of the doubt.
But no, not this time.
He was going to strangle T.
She had never wanted to strangle him so badly.
She'd never had to swallow a scream of this magnitude.
What the fuck was going on?
Why wasn't anyone explaining it?
They-
Senior and T- fucking T-
Were fucking bantering?
Bantering!?
As in T-
Her tactless Problem Child-
-was once more playing with fire.
Her uncle had a nasty temper.
And T never acknowledged lines.
Why the fuck had no one ever told her!?
About Senior and T's dynamics!?
And T?
Fucking T!?
He fucking knew why.
Had to.
Why else would he suddenly grow some sense and shut up?
He knew, what ever the fuck it was he was doing, was wrong.
She frowns as she looks around for the others.
Where the fuck was her Pretty Boy?
She was pretty sure she'd heard him speaking.
And what of her Bo'sun?
Her leader in arms?
There was no way they could've missed them. Not with how barren Hades's territory was.
Panic spears through her before she takes a deep breath.
They were fine.
They had to be.
There was no way T would be acting like that if Senior had done something to them-
Right?
She shakes her head.
T was a fucking idiot sometimes-
But he bent over backwards for them and had dedicated so much to keeping them safe-
That didn't explain where her missing crew was.
Or change how unsettling it was to hear the way T was talking to Senior.
T groans as he turns to Senior, "can you fuckin' not?"
"Can't we just get this over?" Deez rolls her eyes.
Senior's eyes fill with glee as he drops T on the couch before he sits in the enormous recliner beside him, "Alright!" he steeples his fingers together, "unless you're completely useless-"
"Seriously, you mother-" He glances in her direction before he drops his eyes with a heavy sigh of acceptance.
Her eyes narrow.
"So, anyway, you heard what our argument was about," Hades continues before he twists his head to the side to glare at T, "correct?"
She frowns as Deez calmly takes a seat on the couch beside T, "yes."
She grimaces at how soft her Baby Girl's voice was before she takes the last seat, relieved when Gil takes guard behind them, the familiar action comforting amid the-
She wasn't even sure what the hell to call this.
If it had been anyone-
Literally anyone else-
How the fuck did T make friends with the damn God of Assholery?
She frowns as Deez shifts in discomfort.
She'd promised not to watch, but something told her this was not going the way they'd feared.
Which was also terrifying.
Seriously. What the fuck was T doing?
And why today?
What did he fucking have handled?
Or not handled by Hades' standards?
"Excellent," Hades grins as he sits up straighter, "then get that one to admit he's wrong."
What?
Deez's eyes close as she lets out a slow sigh.
Why did she look sad?
"Ooooooh, you prick." T scowls at Senior.
And why the fuck was T still poking Hades?
"Fine." Deez clenches her jaw as she turns fully to T.
"What the fuck am I missing?" She demands, alarmed at the tone of Deez's voice.
"Nothing-" T shakes his head before he turns to Senior, "you're fuckin' right. I'm wrong. Enjoy stewin', dick."
"Nah nah nah." Hades holds a finger up, "full sentences. Start again."
T glares as his jaw tenses, "I was wrong, it was stupid to argue with a god who doesn't understand shit about his fuckin' feelings, let alone other peoples and-"
"Ah, no." Senior scrunches his face up in mock disappointment, "Kitten, wanna set him straight?"
Deez absently nods, "My father was very mistreated-"
"Ugh. Fine." He turns to Senior. "I'm sorry for ever insinuating that anyone could possibly ever have had a worse upbringing than you. You suffered greatly, and it, rightfully so, pisses you off because you were served the shitiest hand ever. It sucks and I was wrong to even bring up such traumatizing memories."
Seriously?
This was what they were fighting about?
Who had the worst upbringing?
Hades rolls his wrist.
T groans, "Zeus really did you dirty and you don't belong here because you're an asshole not a villain."
"Eh, I'll take the asshole part, because I'm how much better at being a parent?"
T closes his eyes as if the thought of responding pained him deeply.
"You're a thousand times better than Cronus. What he did was horrible, and I really really appreciate you not swallowing me whole the moment I was born. You're father of the millennium comparatively."
"Congrats for not burying the bar-"
"T!" Gil growls as he nearly climbs over the back of the couch to clamp a hand over T's mouth and pin him to the cushions.
No.
No.
If Gil hadn't done that, she might have believed this was new.
Or even that this was the first time T was taking it this far.
But no, her Sweet Boy knew better than to draw attention to himself right now, and yet he'd just shut T up.
Right next to her Uncle.
Just.
Fucking.
No!
"Is he always fucking like this?" She demands as she jumps to her feet.
Gil's sigh tells her all she needs to know.
"He's just being stubborn." Deez turns back to her father, only to be interrupted as T wiggles out from under Gil's hand.
"Cause he's being over dramatic."
"Am not." Senior scoffs.
"Dramatic," Deez raises her voice as she looks between the two, "or not. He admitted he was wrong and you were right."
"But wouldn't say I was a better parent." Hades glares at T.
"Hmm, is that really-" T yelps as Gil yanks him up and backwards.
Senior shakes his head, grinning at T's rough treatment before he crosses his arms over his chest, "so?"
"T," Deez pleads, "come on, just, please?"
Gil reluctantly moves his hand.
T huffs, "compared to your father, you're a saint."
"Thank you." Hades plucks a leaf of paper from the side of the chair and bends over to write, "so yeah, fine. Whatever. I'm still annoyed he wasn't playing the part of the Spider today."
She sighs in relief.
T glances at her with a frown before his brow furrows and he looks away dejected.
"So, we can leave now?"
"Yeah yeah yeah, in a minute." Hades brushes the question off without looking up from the paper, "I need that to sign something. And don't you need to pick up a few things while yer here?"
T groans as his head hits Gil's chest.
She frowns. "Do you?"
"Jesus-fucking-christ." T grumbles, "yep."
She raises one eyebrow as she looks him over.
Why did he sound just as surprised-
Oh.
She sighs as she flops back into the cushion.
He sounded surprised because Faustina just told him.
Because Faustina was the one writing to the god.
She pauses in horror as her eyes move slowly from Senior to T.
Faustina enjoyed writing to Hades, because she said it was like talking with T.
She slowly shakes her head.
No.
Just no.
There was no way-
Except- She looks between T and Senior with a frown.
She knew her Problem Child had a brass set.
Hell, half the Isle apparently knew T ran into shit half cocked-
But-
Sea. Gods. Fucking. Dammit!
She'd assumed Faustina meant it more like it reminded her of the way she and T once spoke to each other, before they knew they were in the same body.
But no, there was no getting around it.
No explaining it away.
Faustina thought T and Hades acted a lot alike.
Like their banter.
Did her uncle seriously enjoy fighting with T?
She hadn't opened the ship's notebook since Faustina had showed her-
Never wanted to.
But-
How exactly did Faustina respond?
T always made it sound like they fought too.
Her eyes bounce between the two again-
But for the life of her she couldn't picture Faustina keeping up.
"Well then, sign here and go collect your prizes. I left the same one open."
T glances at her before he takes a deep breath and signs his name. "Be back in a minute," he grumbles as he slips to the edge of the couch.
"Too bad ya knocked Guyliner out."
"What?" She snaps as she looks past Deez.
T grimaces, "it was an accident."
"Why do I not believe you?"
"Oh, great call Momma Squid. It soooooo wasn't an accident." Hades taps a finger to his chin, "unless mortals can accidentally load liquid into darts and then accidentally slam that dart into unsuspecting and trusting buttcheecks."
T claps his hands together, "right, well- I got shit ta collect."
Her jaw tenses. "Where are the others, T."
"Oh, they're laid out too." Hades snorts, "the new Spider and the kid that hangs around your ship all the time reeeeally didn't like seeing Guyliner on the floor. And they, very incorrectly might I add, believed I'd done something. Moi, hurt a hair on a follower of my Kitten? I would never."
T growls as he scowls at him before his eyes dart to her with a frown and turns away, "whatever." He stands before he shoves his hands in his pockets and heads out the room.
"Momma Squid, you need to drop by more often. Something about your Krakenness just shuts him the fuck up. And yet somehow manages to let the funny still shine. It's perfect."
She turns back to Senior, "it has been a long time since I was last here."
Not that much, or anything, about this room had changed.
The furniture was still large and imposing, though also strangely comfortable to sit on.
The air was still cold, even with the unused fireplace right in front of them.
The room was still cluttered with rolled up scrolls and books.
It looked like a place that could be comfortable and welcoming, except Hades seemed to go out of his way to do the complete opposite with the place.
"Oh, well yes it has been quite a few years, hasn't it?" Hades snorts, "Last time I saw you in here you were barely taller than my knee and adamant about being the best little squid witch you could be."
Ugh.
She cringes.
Yeah. She remembered that.
Remembered how much she loved the attention her mother gave her when she promised revenge on her uncle Triton.
It was the only reason her mother passed on the seashell necklace she still wore.
Because she had wanted to learn magic.
Wanted to take over everything and rule with fear.
But then she'd met Deez and her priorities shifted.
Why rule when you could lead?
Why hate when love was so much more fulfilling?
Why choose isolation when you could be surrounded by people who cared-
And that's what Deez had done.
Sparked something that set her future in motion.
She'd never considered those things before Deez.
Her eyes blur as she places her hand over Deez's, smiling when she feels a slight wave of heat wash over her.
"So, we're done then?" Deez asks before their eyes meet and she can see the anxiety barely concealed there.
"Aww Kitten, don't be like that." Senior pouts, "you barely just got here. What's the rush?"
"We have to hold up our end of the deal, don't we? Keep you entertained as we struggle to unite a large enough following?"
"Correction-" Hades thrusts his thumb towards the exit T had disappeared. "That one's job is to keep me entertained. Our deal is you get these-" He points to his restrictors, "the fuck off me so we can all get outta this shit hole."
"Well, I have an appointment with you in a few days to try again, so I guess we'll just go help T-"
"Woah there-" Hades shakes his head as he stands, pressing a single finger to Deez's forehead as he snorts, "the only one allowed in those rooms right now are Arachne, Firebug and Guyliner."
Deez leans away from his touch and into her arms, "right. Sorry. I forgot."
Gil frowns as he pulls Deez to him, over the back of the couch, and into his arms as he glares at the God with so much disdain she almost didn't recognize him.
"We'll go check on the others then." Deez states firmly as she holds her hand out to her insistently.
Hades shrugs, "might as well get comfortable while you're in there."
She narrows her eyes as she stands to join her family, running her thumb soothingly over Deez's knuckles before she turns back to her uncle, "and why is that?"
"Because I said so."
Gil reluctantly sets Deez on her feet before she takes him by the hand too, "I can hear Pain and Panic talking, this way."
She bites her lip before she and Gil follow after
"Seriously, one foot out of that room until I retrieve you and you'll all regret it." Senior calls after them.
Deez hangs her head, her small hand tightening around her and Gil's hand before she nods, "yes, Sir."
"That's a good Kitten." Hades steps in front of them and pats her on the head.
Her jaw tenses as she glares at his hand. Wishing she could smack it the fuck off her Baby Girl.
Fucking condescending prick.
"Mine." She snaps as she pulls Deez to her.
"Sure Momma Squid, sure," Hades gestures as if brushing the claim aside, "except when she's not." He steps back and gestures to the hall.
She growls but before she can respond-
"Please don't," Deez begs softly as she tugs them to follow her.
She studies Deez's pleading face for a moment before she lets out a sigh.
"Fine." She responds begrudgingly as she follows her.
Poor D, what a fucking shit show.
I have zero idea what I'd do if my parents liked one of my friends more-
Short of being shocked they liked anyone, period. They fucking hate Dark, and Dark is fucking awesome.
Dicks.
Anyways, I still have empathy for her. And totally get why she wants to be the one who goes to get T.
Really need to draw up or find an image close enough for Yensid's staff…
It's been really rough for her lately and shit isn't getting any easier.
Leave it to Gil to pick up on Deez being all over the place-
And respect for not throwing a bitch fit over Deez and Uma going to the temple. Honestly proud of him.
LoLz, T acting like a kid with his hand in the candy jar.
Why? Because he doesn't want Uma to stress more than she already does. Everyone else?
Tch.
T's an edgelord* to the extreme. He usually gets off on the shit-
But never with Umes.
Out of everyone T definitely respects Uma the most. She's always caring about others. Protecting them. Has always stood for diversity. Works her fucking ass off. Commands a crew, way more efficiently than any of the other leaders in his opinion.
She's passionate. And terrifying. And nothing kills him more than her tears. Seeing someone he holds in such high esteem crying, namely Uma, breaks him every time.
The last thing he wanted was to see how little he gives a fuck when it comes to his interactions with Sr.
Any ways-
What did you guys think of the last scene?
Uma's thoughts on T/Sr's interactions?
Uma's pain and frustration on Sr's treatment of D?
Her cringe about wanting to follow her mom?
Much love and appreciation
-Twisted
*Edgelord:
An edgelord is someone on an internet forum who deliberately talks about controversial, offensive, taboo, or nihilistic subjects in order to shock other users in an effort to appear cool, or edgy
And, what is T's humor if not shock?
