Chapter Three

Results

"Leo! Leonardo! Wake up!"

Leonardo jolted his head up as he heard Jack's voice in his ears.

"Leo!"

The turtle shook his head and he looked at the grey wolf who was leaning over him "Wake up man!" he said, "What happened to you?"

Leonardo blinked a few times then he saw his sensei before him, and his robe where his shoulder was, was wrinkled showing evidence that he had been resting his head there.

"You fell asleep my son." The rat reported.

Leonardo then realised and he breathed a sigh of relief as he realised, he had been dreaming.

"I... I'm sorry I… I don't remember falling asleep."

"Don't sweat it!" Jack reassured "After what happened, the exhaustion must have hit you hard! And I'm not surprised, given what you've been through, you and your family."

Leonardo looked around and he saw Pandora and Michelangelo on medical beds being seen to by the Chicago Knights then he heard voices from another room behind a closed door nearby.

"What's happened?" Leonardo cried as he remembered his family's conditions from the battle earlier "Where are they? Where's Kemeko?"

Jack was about to answer then the door opened, and James appeared looking grim.

"James!" Splinter cried as he stood up "What news?"

Leonardo also stood up, his stomach tight with fear and his heart thumping hard in his chest.

James sighed.

"They're stable." He said, "All four of them."

"Oh, bless you, James!" Splinter cried "You and Dahlia!"

"They're stable!" James repeated as he held up his hands "But we've had to put Monalisa, Donatello and Raphael into induced comas."

"WHAT!?" everyone cried in shock.

"Comas!?" Michelangelo yelled from his bed.

"Mum! Dad!" Pandora wailed as she tried to sit up, but Sonia held her back.

"No! Mona!" Jake cried as he ran over yet Amber and Heather stopped him.

Splinter's eyes widened.

"What…you mean?"

"It was needed Master Splinter!" James said, "This is the best way to ensure they will heal properly and safely!"

"What of Kemeko?" Leonardo asked.

James took a deep breath.

"She's lucky to be alive." He said, "She lost a lot of blood, as well as suffered damage to her kidneys, but she will pull through!"

Leonardo felt faint and Jack quickly grabbed him before he fell.
"Oh thank the Gods!" Leonardo breathed "Thank you James! Thank you! Thank you! Both you and Dahlia!"

Splinter started crying in both relief and stress.

"Bless you a thousand times James!" he said "You and Dahlia…. please…may we see them?"

Jake also called over.

"Please!" he begged "Let me see my sister!"

James looked at Leonardo, Splinter and Jake, then he nodded.

"Of course." He said, "But not too long, okay?"

Jake, Splinter and Leonardo agreed then followed the Chimpanzee into the next room.

As they walked in, they saw Monalisa, Donatello and Raphael hooked up to heart monitors and respirators and gas masks over their faces.

It broke their hearts seeing them like that, but they knew it was to save their lives.

Dahlia was looking at Donatello's monitors and taking notes when she saw the human, rat and turtle enter with James.

"Master Splinter, Jake, Leonardo." She said then she noticed the demeaner of the visitors.

"Please, don't be concerned," she soothed "An induced coma is used to allow the brain to rest, it decreases the brains activity and metabolic rate and gives the body time to heal."

Jake instantly ran over to Monalisa's bed and collapsed at the side of it before stroking her forehead and kissing her forehead as his tears fell.

"Oh sis!" he wept and pleaded "Please pull through! Don't leave me! Please! Not again!"

"Will they be okay?" Leonardo asked anxiously as he stood between the beds of Donatello and Raphael and stroked their hands.

"They're survival rate is between 76 and 89 percent." Dahlia reported "But right now it's too early to know what will become of them, there are risks, but since they were given help rather quickly, they should wake up without problems."

"Problems?" Splinter asked as he went pale.

Dahlia nodded.

"Sometimes, some people who are put in induced comas don't wake up the same person they were before." The wolf said honestly "But it's only a possibility and given the fact they are not human but mutants, it may be a different matter."

Splinter lowered his head and more tears fell.

"Oh, my sons! My daughter!" he wept but James held his shoulders.

"Do not fear the worst Splinter!" he said "Please! Dahlia and I will look after them and we will do all we can for them, we promise."

Leonardo swallowed the lump in his throat then he looked over at Kemeko who lay on her hospital bed still under anaesthetic and he rushed over to her.

"Kemeko!" he cried then sat next to the bed and stroked her face "Oh my baby girl! My Lotus Blossom, my turtle child!" he kissed her forehead and nuzzled her hair.

Dahlia instantly walked over.

"Gently turtle!" she said, "She needs to heal!"

Leonardo looked up at the wolf.

"Can't…can't I stay here with her? Please? Until she wakes up?"

Dahlia frowned then looked at James who was still comforting Splinter.

The Chimpanzee looked up and nodded at the wolf then she turned to Leonardo.

"Very well." She said, "You can stay, we'll arrange for you to have a camp bed so you can sleep."

"Thank you!" Leonardo said gratefully "Thank you so much!"

Dahlia smiled at Leonardo then turned to Jake who was still weeping and holding his unconscious sister.

"We'll get one for Jake too, he's reluctant to leave Monalisa, understandable given the situation."

Back in the other room, the other Mutopians, Jake, Pandora and Michelangelo were reeling from what James had said about the conditions of Raphael, Donatello, Monalisa and Kemeko.

Pandora hugged Sonia and wept into her chest.

"Mum! Dad! Kem! Uncle Don!" she sobbed "No! Please!"

Sonia hugged her cousin close.

"It's alright Pandora!" she said, "James and Dahlia are looking after them! The induced comas will help your parents and uncle!"

"Are you sure?" Pandora asked as she looked up at Sonia, her eyes swollen and red.

"I can't promise you anything Pandora." Sonia said in a truthful tone "But I do trust James and Dahlia, they are the best doctors in Mutopia!"

"Oh, they sure are!" Jun piped up as he walked over to Pandora's bedside, he was grinning, but it was somehow forced "Your mama, daddy and Uncle are gonna be just fine!"

Pandora looked up at the tiger and sniffed.

"I hope so!" she wept "I don't want to lose them!"

Michelangelo looked over at Kate lying next to him on his bed.

"Katie?" he asked, "Will they be alright?"

Kate looked at her boyfriend and propped herself up to look down at him then stroked his face tenderly.

"They will be hon." She said "They're fighters! And they'll be fine!"

Michelangelo gave a forced smile at the viper, yet tears filled his eyes as a memory came back to him, even though it had been years it was still fresh in his mind.

It had been over eighteen years but right now it felt like yesterday, Michelangelo, and his family along with Tyroth and Sephie had been transported to another world where they had met Devina, but they had faced many dangers, as well as separations and this one stuck out.

Flashback

Michelangelo walked along with Tyroth as they searched the forest looking for Raphael and Monalisa.

"Are you okay Mikey?" Tyroth asked.

"Yeah..." Michelangelo replied weakly.

"That was hardly convincing." Tyroth replied 'Something's bothering you. Is it Raph and Mona?"

"I'm worried about them!" Michelangelo said "Especially Mona! She's the best big sister I've ever had! And I don't want to lose her, she's always been there for me when my brothers or even Sensei don't have time for me, you know playing video games, skating in the sewers."

"I see, Well, what about Raph then? Aint you just as worried about him?" Tyroth asked.

"Well…I think I can squeeze him in somewhere!"

"Figures!" Tyroth chuckled "Don't worry! We'll find her and make sure she's safe!"

"Thanks, Big T!" Michelangelo replied, "By the way, does that include Raph?"

"Maybe…I'll see if we can squeeze him in somewhere in that plan as well!" Tyroth said mischievously making Michelangelo laugh despite his worries.

Just then a large burst of flames lit up the forest followed by a female screaming and Michelangelo recognised that voice at Monalisa's and he paled in fear.

"No! Big sis! We must help her!" he wailed as he started to run towards the fire, yet Donatello held him back.

"No Mike!"

"Raph! Mona!" Michelangelo shouted as he tried to break free "Please! No!"

End Flashback

Kate saw Michelangelo's tears and she hugged him close.

"Oh baby, please don't cry." She begged as she kissed his cheeks, catching his tears, "It's going to be alright."

"I'm sorry Katie." Michelangelo sniffed "It's just, I never felt that fear for Raph and big sis since that day back in Skyrim, and even then, I was scared for them that I had lost them, and now…it's come back!" he then looked over at Pandora who was still sobbing into Sonia and the Geckolings had gone over as well to offer comfort.

"Pandora losing her parents, it's something I'd never want to see, my niece loose the ones who love her and treasure her!"

Kate hugged Michelangelo close again.

"She won't baby." She said "Monalisa and Raphael will make it! And Pandora won't be orphaned! We'll take care of her until her parents recover, if we both know Monalisa, Raphael and Donatello, they'll pull through and things will be ack to where they were!"

Michelangelo looked at Kate.

"I hope so Katie!" he whimpered "By the Gods I hope so!"

So it looks like our heroes will survive!

How many of you readers thought I really had killed off Raphael, Donatello, Monalisa and Kemeko? Did I get you worried there hmm?

Aren't I such a stinker? Lol!
