Chapter Four
More Treatment and Bad News
In the main wing, Tyroth looked at everyone who lay on hospital beds recovering from their injuries.
Michelangelo was still laying in his bed with his arm in a sling awaiting treatment with Kate next to him offering support.
Pandora was laying with Sonia on one side holding her hand whilst Freya and Loki sat on the other side, the twins had brought the hybrid a couple of soft toys to hold for whilst she slept.
Freya had brought a brown teddy dressed as a Viking whilst Loki had brought a soft toy Pokemon Chizard.
The other Chicago Knights as much as they wanted to stay with their friends were told by James when he came out earlier that they needed to leave so that they had room to work on their injured friends.
April remained behind to make sure Pandora and Michelangelo were alright before Dahlia and James came out from looking over those more seriously hurt.
After Jake, Splinter and Leonardo had requested to stay in the same room with Monalisa, Kemeko, Raphael and Donatello, it was arranged that Cam, Barry and Leona had brought in three camp beds so they could be close to them, which the Rhino, Warthog and Fox did straight away.
Sephie looked at the injured duo then back at the other room wondering how Monalisa, Raphael, Donatello and Leonardo were doing.
Amber stood next to her brother as she thought of Jake feeling so worried for Monalisa.
"I know only too well how Jake feels." She said looking up at Tyroth "I remember the grief I felt when you went missing, and then you were shot down…once by Overlords Goons when I first reunited with you, and then the time you were struck by Fumetsu Misuto."
Tyroth nodded and patted Amber's shoulder.
Sephie sighed as she remembered and squeezed Tyroth's hand.
Those times were the worst of her life, and he prayed she would never have to experience them again, even if things turned out well in the end.
After five minutes, James and Dahlia walked out of the room so they could check on Michelangelo and Pandora.
"How are they doing?" Tyroth asked.
James sighed.
"So far it's too early to tell if Monalisa and Donatello may suffer permanent injuries, both their bodies were affected by the venoms of those monsters." The Chimpanzee said quietly "I'm going to give it a few hours, but right now it's too early to tell."
Sephie went pale, as did Amber.
Tyroth swallowed hard.
"What about Raphael? And Kemeko?" he asked.
As soon as the Dragon mentioned Raphael, James looked grim and turned to Dahlia to check on Michelangelo and Pandora to which the wolf nodded and walked off leaving the Chimpanzee to speak with the Dragon, Gecko, and Iguana.
"Raphael did suffer a lot of damage to his throat, and from what we saw, he's very lucky to be alive."
"But?" Sephie asked in dread.
James sighed.
"I have fears that he may have suffered damage to his vocal cords."
The girls' eyes widened and Tyroth's jaw dropped yet he quickly shut it and looked over to the other Knights along with Michelangelo and Pandora.
"Damage?" he asked.
"Again, I'm not sure, I need to do a few more checks but…." James paused "If there is damage, then, he may have lost the ability to speak!"
Sephie felt tears form in her eyes and she shook her head.
"Oh no!" she murmured as she covered her mouth in shock.
Amber fearfully looked over to Pandora who was looking at Freya and Loki and holding the Viking Teddy and Chizard close to her as Dahlia was kneeling by the bed and looking at the stitches in her side.
The Wolf looked at the Hybrid's side and murmured to herself.
"I have to say young one." She said, "Your wounds are healing well, you do have your mother's healing ability and it has helped a lot."
"Does that mean she'll be able to leave the sickbay soon?" Loki asked.
Dahlia looked at the male Geckoling.
"We need to keep her here overnight just to be sure." She said, "But if all goes well, she should be able to leave tomorrow, but she will need to take it easy."
"How's mum, dad, Uncle Don and Kemeko?" Pandora asked desperately.
Dahlia shook her head.
"It's too early to tell Pandora." She said, "But trust me when I say, any changes I will inform you."
"Please let them be alright!" Pandora pleaded.
Dahlia nodded.
"We will do our best, James and I." she replied before walking over to Michelangelo.
Amber swallowed hard as she wondered how the hybrid would take the news about Raphael condition, that was if what James believed that was the case.
"This is going to break her heart!" she said to Tyroth.
The Dragon nodded.
"As it will the rest of the turtles and Splinter, and Mona…should she wake up and know the truth!"
Sephie glared and bit her lip, trying to remain positive despite everything.
"We can't just assume that's the case!" she said, "We have to remain positive!"
"It's going to be hard though." Amber said, "Not knowing if everything will be alright…or different for our friends."
James looked at the Iguana.
"Like I said, it's too early to tell, but we've done all we can for them, the rest is in the hands of the Gods." He said sadly.
A Loud yell made them all jump, and they looked over to see Dahlia standing over Michelangelo after popping his dislocated shoulder back into place.
"Ah Shell!" Michelangelo yelled in agony.
"Sorry!" Dahlia said apologetically then James walked over and injected Michelangelo with pain relief.
"It's…Okay…" Michelangelo breathed before laying back on the bed taking a few deep breaths, "You needed to do…what you needed….to do…"
Kate lay back down with Michelangelo and stroked his chest comfortingly.
James then looked over Michelangelo's arm then nodded to Dahlia who produced a metal bowl.
"We're going to take these arrows out, okay?" the Chimpanzee said, "What I've given you will provide numbness in your arm whilst we work, but you need to stay relaxed and breathing alright?"
Michelangelo nodded and turned to look at Kate.
"Just look at me alright." Kate soothed "Just look at me."
Michelangelo nodded and kept his eyes on Kate.
"You always make me feel better and happy Katie." He smiled "Just looking at your pretty face and sparkling eyes."
Kate blushed and nuzzled Michelangelo and James and Dahlia smiled at the sight before they got to work on removing the arrows and making sure the wounds were sealed with gauze and bandaged then check for broken bones.
Tyroth watched for a while then sighed.
"We better let them work." He spoke.
Sephie and Amber agreed.
Tyroth then walked over to James and Dahlia.
"Thank you both of you." He said, "For your hard work."
Both the Chimpanzee and Wolf smiled and nodded at the Dragon.
"Anything for our friends." He said, "We will make sure they're well looked after."
"I'll remain here to help too." April said as she went over to Pandora.
"Can't we stay too?" Sonia asked.
"You're very kind Sonia, and you two as well." James said as he looked at the Chameleon and Geckolings "But you three need to give us space to look after your friends, but we will keep you updated should anything change."
"We promise." Dahlia said.
Tyroth looked over at Sonia and the Geckolings.
"You heard the docs kids." He said, "Come along."
Sonia and the Geckolings looked forlorn, and they turned to Pandora who looked saddened.
"Don't worry Pandora." Freya said with a smile "We'll come back soon, when we're allowed."
Pandora forced a weak smile.
"Thanks guys." She said and she cuddled the Viking bear and Chizard close.
"Thanks for the companions, Freya, Loki."
The Geckolings winked and walked with Sonia to the exit of the room.
"We'll come over and check in later okay kids?" Sephie said to which the children understood and left the medical bay.
After a few minutes, Tyroth, Sephie and Amber left the room to where they were met with the other Chicago Knights, Old George, and the other residents.
"What's happened?"
"Is there any other news?"
"Are they going to be okay?"
Tyroth was slightly taken aback but he held up his paws and waved them.
"Please! Everyone!" he called "Back up! Back up!"
At his orders all the residents did as they were told and Tyroth sighed, he hated it when the residents bombarded him like this, he remembered only too well when he was swamped when there was a crisis, he hadn't seen this much hysteria since the Diablo incident.
"If you want to know any information!" the Dragon shouted, "All of you go to the Mess Hall and I will explain everything!"
"You heard him!" Amber called out, "Into the Mess hall!"
At Amber and Tyroth's words, all the residents and the rest of the Chicago Knights hurried to the Mess Hall, all talking and chatting amongst each other.
Tyroth took a deep breath then looked at Sephie and Amber.
"It's going to be a long story to tell everyone." He sighed.
"We'll be there to help in any way we can hun!" Sephie reassured her husband.
"That we can!" Amber agreed fervently.
Tyroth gave a weak smile at his wife and sister then they started to walk to the mess hall.
"We still want to know what happened in the Headquarters as well." Amber reminded her brother "What happened to you and Devina after you confronted the Shredder?"
Tyroth looked up.
"I will give the full story," he said, "Inside the mess hall, but what I will say is…even though I held back on my true power, it would be a miracle should that evil man have survived."
"You mean?" Amber asked her eyes widening.
"He's no more?" Sephie asked, hope rising in her chest.
"I'll explain the full story soon." Tyroth said "All that I know of what happened and what I saw when he and I fought."
Both lizard ladies looked at each other, then at Tyroth as he led the way into the Mess Hall.
If the girls knew the dragon well, after all that had happened in their lives and how powerful he had become, no-one, but no-one that was apart from Diablo and his Disciples had fought Tyroth face to face and lived to tell the tale.
So it's too early to tell if theres permanent damage with Monalisa, Donatello and Raphael, although James has fears that Raphael has gotten more damage to his throat and may have lost his ability to speak!
And Tyroth is about to tell the Residents the news as well as what happened in the Foot Headquarters.
