Eng not min first. First story. Warhammer is not mine.
Now the journey is over. When you fly a plane or drive a car, I'm usually glad it's over, not now. Because now we are here for mine and Ron's punishment for everything that happened before.
I'm helping Ron's new men to pack everything we need for possibly months of being on this planet. What will we discover? I do not know. Why did the first colonizer disappear ? I do not know. Which alien will we meet next? I'm guessing Tyranid, I've encountered Orcs and genestealers, and on a jungle planet it would fit perfectly with Tyranid. That's all I need on my Xenos bingo card to get a bingo.
[Answer. Correct, you only need Tyranid to gain a new Skill]
"WHAT", I have a bingo card? I was so surprised I dropped the box I was holding and didn't realize I had said it out loud.
[Answer. No I'm just messing with you]
And?
"Hey, David, what are you doing, and what are you yelling about?". Ron asked a short distance away.
"Oh, I slipped on an oil spill or something". It is absolutely true. We get a couple of Tech-Priests, and one of them is leaking.
"Okay hurry up, it's 20 minutes until we leave and we're already behind schedule".
(Crash)
"Damn it, who dropped something now". Ron ran off to check what was going on (one of the new ogres dropped something) and left me alone.
The journey from the ship was… not so nice. The mini ship or whatever it's called that will take us down to the planet will more or less crash, it will only use its jet engines at the end so we don't crash to save gas. Ron said it was safe, and that the space marines do something similar, but space marines are space marines, super soldiers. We are not, not even me. My HP is not that high so I can survive if something goes wrong.
Unfortunately, this is not something I can do anything about, because right now I'm sitting and waiting for gravity to take us down.
It took a couple of minutes before we started falling, everything started shaking. It was getting hot and a loud boom was heard. After a couple of minutes, which were too long, the jet engines were turned on and we were first slowing down and then the worst came.
(BOOM, CRASH)
It felt like I was going to be ripped out of my seat, but the belt held. After a few seconds when the only thing I heard was my heartbeat. A red light went on and a muffled beep or alarm or how to explain it, but everyone started to move. I sat there for a while before someone put a hand on my shoulder.
"how does it feel". It was Ron.
"You know, the first time I threw up, so you are taking it pretty well. You can just sit there until you feel better".
After a few minutes of trying and failing to vomit I was able to get out, it was many big trees, hot and humid, everything a jungle should be to make sure I don't like it here.
Everyone is setting up camp. I walked around for fresh air, but I heard something.
#Is that him?,#
#Yes#
#I can't see any cybernetic enhancements#
#My scanners get the same thing#
I looked in the direction I heard the voices and saw four tech-priests in a group looking at me.
#He could understand binary without any problem, he must be destined to become one of us, do you know if he is good with machine spirit?#
#We must make him one of us#
#We can do it when he sleeps, he lives next doorBartellophis Garc, we can do it in his room#
#Hey, he's looking this way#
They turned straight at me, and we stared at each other for a few seconds before either of us said anything.
#I'm not used to someone who doesn't look like us being able to understand us, we really should make him one of us#
It was static which means I agree or something like that for a couple of seconds before everyone went in a different direction.
Damn, looks like I need to sleep with one eye open tonight. However, it sounded like they will wait until we get back to the ship. Shit.
After a while of helping unpacking, a man came and said that Ron wanted me to attend a meeting about the mission and (punishment) we were here for.
"Okay okay, now listen, I don't want to repeat myself, so if you miss something, it's your fault". Ron said to the group he and I had chosen, which was to only take a few that know what to do and a few that if they die, we haven't lost anything important. Do I feel bad about it? Yes. Very? No, which I think is thanks to my Psychopath Skill.
"First is that what I say applies, nothing else, second is if I die or can't lead it is David that you take orders from". Everyone in the group that was going suddenly looked at me. It made me nervous, but I tried not to look like that, if I succeeded… No idea.
"The third is you fuking don't give orders to ogres if you don't know how, I don't care how simple the task you ask them to do, they stupid enough to do it wrong, and I don't want any exploded ogres just because you told them to throw a grenade".
"Hey, we're stupid enough". Said one of the new ogres Ed and I trained. He obviously doesn't understand what we're talking about.
"The last one is that it's a 12-hour journey to where we're going, and we have to walk there".
Everyone is protesting and complaining about it. Me too, but not verbally.
"I understand, but it's for we only have four Ironstriders, thanks to someone dead underestimating ogres stupidity".
Oof, I remember that day. There were body parts everywhere, that's something I'll never forget.
"We are lucky that it is a 41 hour day here, and it is already high noon now so if we leave before an hour we will be there before the sun goes down, the main thing we need is our Ironstriders, but we will all have to carry something, but remember the Ironstriders is important because if something happens and our radios don't work, Ironstrider is our best hope".
Ironstrider is something that I remember from checking out Warhammer lore. It's two stationary machines that never stop moving, but this one can be ridden by more than one guy, and it can have luggage on it. Apparently Bartellophis Garc was not too happy about it.
"Okay, that's it, come on guys, we have to hurry," Ron said. As I saw a window appears in front of me.
[New Quest]
[Going to Hell]
Ronn Cunnane Custa and his men will go through a dangerous jungle. You have to make sure enough people survive for what comes after.
The reward will increase the more that survive.
Half or less = non.
70-80%= 200 xp.
80-99%= 200 xp, 1 Skill.
No dead = 300 xp, 2 Skill.
[Note. If Ron dies or all Ironstriders are destroyed, the quest is failed]
Shit, there's only one reason for me to get this. It will be a long walk.
Hi, it's me. Something has happened during this week which I took a break from.
I suddenly got spontaneous-insomnia, and I didn't sleep a night. And thanks to sleeping on the day is a bad idea, I was awake for almost 24 hours. But something strange happened.
I had an idea in my head that turned into an interesting fanfic idea, so I wrote 1000 words in one go, and if you haven't noticed, 1000 words is a chapter of this story that takes a week to write... and the next day I wrote I 1500 more words.
I know what you're thinking. "Where does this unimaginable power come from?". No clue. But I've already started writing chapter two. So please read Quirk X Hunter.
I'm going to write on it for a couple of weeks, and if we're lucky. Survive in 40K Oh NO coming back with 2000 words per chapter every week!. The first should be out now and chapter 2 will come in 1-3 days.
Thank you for being with me on this for this long, and I hope you will read this when it comes back. I will tell in Quirk X Hunter when I come back to this.
Is it self promotion? Yes.
