I have decided who would be Calla's voice actress (at least in my head), Jennie Kwan, who voiced Suki.

Chapter 3:
Moonrise

Evening has come for the Katolis castle. Inside, Hera picking up her crown from the table and placing it on her head as she readies for battle. Afterward, Hera marches down a hallway accompanied by four Crownguard soldiers, until they stop in front of Sonja waiting at a door. Sonja presents Hera with her sword, which the queen glances at for a moment, then puts it away into its sheath. Under the full protection of her Crownguard, Hera proceeds across the courtyard, towards the tower where her chambers are located. There, soldiers equipped with crossbows prepare their defense on the balcony of the chambers while Pipette curiously watches them, then flies back inside. The sun has set while the guards keep their watch. While Hera practices a few swings with her sword, Pipette lands on her left shoulder.

"This may be the end." Hera solemly told Pipette, who respond with chirps. Hera scratches her bird's chin, then pats her back. "Aw, who gives the best birdie kisses?" Pipette squawks. "Pipette does. Yes, she does." Pipette chitters.

Claude and Vira head toward Vira's office through a castle corridor.

"But I don't understand. The switching spell will save her life. Why would she say no?" Claude asked his mother.

"Queen Hera is a woman of standards and high principles."

Claude rolls his eyes and argued. "You mean 'stubborn'!"

"Watch your tongue!" Vira snapped, with Claude frowning in response. "But, yes, she is hardheaded. Usually about the right things, but about this..." she sighs and places the basket containing the two-headed Soulfang Serpent onto her desk. "I don't know." She places her hands onto the desk and frowns.

Claude gazes at the portrait of Vira and Hera hanging on the wall. "You look so... happy in this portrait."

"I was." Vira said, looking fondly at the portrait. "We posed for this a few days after Queen Hera's coronation. She insisted I stand next to her for the painting, because she knew I would stand by her through anything."

"And you have." Claude said.

"Yes... so far. I have to stand by her through this, too." She glances at the hissing snake basket. "I need to be the person she once believed me to be." She picks up the basket.

"What do you mean, mom?" A concerned Claude asked.

Vira starts to walk away. "It means there's one more thing I can do to convince her." Then stops in place.

"And what's that?" Claude asked.

"If I told you, you would try to stop me." Vira said, turning her head to Claude.

"Well then, shouldn't I just try to stop you anyway, even without knowing?"

"Goodbye, Claude." she said tenderly.

Vira exists the room and Claude turns his attention back towards the portrait in melancholy. Then, he notices Hera's sealed letter rolled up to his feet from underneath her mother's desk. He picked it and examines it thoroughly. Growing suspicious, he then looked at the painting of the shepherd boy and sheep where the secret corridor is located, and noticed something off about it, as if it wasn't completely shut. While taking a closer look to inspect the painting, he notices the jelly handprint Ezra had left behind on the left side, puts his finger into it, and gives it a taste and shudders in disgust. "Ugh. Persimmon?"

Claude pulls open the painting and ventures the passageway. Due to the corridor being considerably dark, he snaps his fingers a couple of times to cast a cantrip that illuminates his palm. The light flickers a bit but stabilizes after he shakes his arm a few times. Equipped with a light, he proceeds on her way.

Ezra, Raylis, and Calla are still gazing upon the unveiled egg of the Dragon Princess.

"This changes everything." Raylis said.

Calla leans closer to the egg. "So, this is it? The egg of the Dragon Princess?"

"I can't believe it. If the egg lives..." Raylis said.

"Maybe it could stop the war." Calla finished.

Raylis approaches the egg, and crouches in front of it. Calla backs away from him and Ezra puts her hands onto the egg.

"She's okay in there. I can feel it." Ezra said with a grin.

"But how?" Calla questioned. "Why wasn't it destroyed?"

"Because my mother saved it." Everyone turned to see Claude descending down the staircase.

Raylis readies his blades as Claude enters the hidden room, carrying a Primal Stone in his hand. While Calla and Ezra looked at him in surprise.

"Claude!" Calla exclaimed.

"Calla, Ezra, get behind me now. I can protect you from the elf." Claude said, taking on a battle stance as the Primal Stone's inner storm sizzles.

"Your mother didn't save it. She stole it." Raylis angrily declared as he points his blade at Claude.

"That's a lie!" Claude said.

Calla walks forward. "Then, Claude, why is it here?"

Ezra walks forward as well, holding the Dragon Egg.

"My mother took it to protect us, Calla, so the elves and dragons couldn't use it." Claude explained.

"What are you talking about? How can we use it?" Raylis questioned.

"Don't play dumb!" Claude said loudly. "You know it's a powerful weapon."

"It's not a weapon. Its an egg!" Raylis yelled.

"Ezra, don't be afraid." Claude said calmly. "Walk towards me, and if he moves even an inch..." He draws the rune for "Fulminis", while Ezra and Calla look at him in fear, and Raylis readies his blades once more. Claude targets Raylis as lightning sparks from his right hand. "Just bring that thing here." Claude said with a menacing tone.

"It's not a thing! It has a father, and it needs to go back to him." Raylis yelled.

Calla looks from Claude to Raylis. When Raylis mentions the egg's father, the princesses immediately side with him, having lost their own.

"You're right." Ezra agreeing with Raylis. "It wants its father."

Hearing the word "father" only made Claude appear upset. "Ezra, I said, come here."

Ezra thinks for a moment, checking in with Raylis through a look. Raylis smiles back at her, giving her confidence.

"Follow me." Ezra tells Raylis.

Carrying the dragon egg, Ezra escapes through a door behind them, followed by Raylis and Bait.

"Don't worry, I won't hit Ez." Claude assures Calla.

Calla looks at the door, then glances at the Primal Stone, seeing an opportunity while Claude channels his spell. She tackles him and grabs his arm, interrupting him successfully. "Fulminis- Ah!"

The conjured lightning hits a nearby wall while the Primal Stone tumbles to the ground. Calla pulls Claude's arm into a chained cuff, locking him in place.

"Calla, what are you doing?!" Claude screamed, grabbing Calla's hand.

"The right thing! I hope." Calla said, pulling her hand from Claude's grip. She then picks up the Primal Stone and storms out of the room to follow the others. "I'm sorry, Claude!"

Claude attempts to chase after her but is held back by the chain still on his arm, causing him to stumble back. "Calla!" he yelled out.

Claude pulls at his chain a few times, then scans the room for an escape tool. When he spots a red candle within his reach, he hurries over to it and lights it with his fingertips. He then pulls out a black container containing ashes from the shelf below and sprinkles a pinch into the flame, causing it to turn purple. Holding the candle in front of him, he chants an incantation. "Srekees ykoms niaga esir, nellaf fo hsa." (1) Then while his eyes lit up purple, he blows on the candle, and the flame bursts into two black and purple shadow wolves, called Smokey Seekers, that sprint down the corridor after their targets while growling and snarling.

After the spell is finished, Claude's eyes fade to black and the wolves howl as they close in on Calla. Calla speeds up and catches up with the group. "There's something after us." she exclaimed.

Raylis stops, pulls out his blades and turns. "Keep running."

Ezra also stopped an calls after a still-running Calla. "Wait, not that way!"

"Why not?" Calla asked, looking back at Ezra. Then she ran into a wall with a loud thud and falls down, rubbing her head.

"Because it's a dead-end." Ezra stated, too little too late.

Calla groans in response and turns her head back to Raylis.

As the wolves approach, Raylis attempts to slice his opponents, though fails to hit them properly due to their vapor-like bodies shifting in and out. The smoke causes his to cough, allowing for a wolf to re-form and bite his right arm, leaving a sizzling bite mark. Raylis inititates another attack but retreats upon realizing that he remains unable to attack his targets.

"I can't stop them." Raylis tells the sisters as he backs away from the wolves. "They're just smoke. My swords pass right through."

With the group now cornered, the wolves approach slowly. While Raylis tries to stop them from moving any closer, Calla remembers the Primal Stone in her hand and examines it. The lightning inside the stone crackles and pops, while the seekers continue to growl at them. Calla uses her photogenic memory to recall the rune of "Aspiro" that Claude casted in the library.

"There might be something I can do, but I don't know if I can do it." Calla said unsurely.

"Is this a guessing game? Just do it!" Raylis yelled.

The wolves dash at the group while Calla glances at the Primal Stone once more. She redraws the rune from memory right as the Smoky Seekers leap toward Raylis. "Aspiro." Calla said and blows at the rune, conjuring up a magical vortex that forces the wolves back into the corridor, where the spell fades. After Raylis had shielded himself from the wind with his arm, he turns around and walks back toward the others.

"You did it!" Ezra cheered.

"You never mentioned you were a mage." Raylis said, while walking towards Calla and rubbing his wounded arm.

"Who, me?" A confused Calla asked. "No, I'm... I'm not really anything."

"You just did magic!" Ezra stated.

"Yeah, that's what a mage is." Raylis agreed. "You're a mage."

"Oh. Really?" Calla then got excited. "Wow! I'm a mage! I'M A MAGE!" She yelled.

Raylis shushes her with his finger. "Nobody likes a loud mage."

"Sorry. Sorry. I'm a mage!" Calla whispered excitedly.

Night has fallen at the balcony where the Crownguard is watching out for the enemy. Vira makes her way up the stairs in the tower to the queen's chambers, carrying the serpent basket. The Crownguard stationed at the stairs make way for her to go up where she meets Sonja in front of Hera's chambers, who is holding an apple and dagger.

"What's in the basket? A bigger moth?" Sonja quipped, as she cuts a part of the apple with her dagger.

"It's something that will protect the queen when all your swords have failed." Vira said.

"You know they can hear you, right?" Sonja questioned.

"She knows, ma'am." A guard standing at the right of the doorway stated.

"I am prepared to do anything to protect the queen. Anything. I hope you will understand, daughter." Vira said.

Sonja becomes concerned by what her mother said.

Bait sits on top of the dragon egg and illuminates the dark way while croaking, still carried by Ezra after the successful escape. Calla and Raylis continue to walk down the corridor, watching for any potential threats.

"Listen, I need you to give me the egg." Raylis tells Ezra. "I have to get it to the roof, right away."

"What? Why?" Ezra asked defensively, moving the egg away from Raylis.

"Just trust me." Raylis said, extending his hand.

"Right, right. That makes sense. Since we go way back. Like that one time, 10 minutes ago, when you chased me through the castle trying to stab me?" Calla laughs, then makes a frown. "Good times."

"You might not realize it, but I'm trying to help you." Raylis said frustratedly. "Any moment now, others will be arriving. Others like me."

"Assassins." Calla said worriedly.

Raylis turns back to Ezra and crouches down to her eye level. "I need to show them the egg to stop them." Once again, he extends his hand. "Just give it to me."

Ezra looks at Raylis, then to the egg and Bait, who croaks. She then shakes her head. "I'll take you to the roof."

Ezra and a smug Calla continue, while Raylis stands back up for a moment to express his slight annoyance, before following them.

Hera sits on her bed and gazes upon a picture of the family, taken after Ezra was born. Though her eyes are focused on her beloved late husband Saran. If this is to be her last day, at least she would join him in heaven, at least she hopes. She's shaken from her thoughts when she heard the door open, and sees Vira walking in. Hera places the picture face down on the bed and Sonja closes the door behind Vira, allowing the two to talk in private.

"I've given thought to what you said." Vira said.

"Oh, have you?" Hera said as she sits down on a chair and starts polishing her sword. "Then why have you returned with that abomination?"

"Yes, I've brought the soulfang. I have a proposal. Let me explain."

Hera examines her sword before looking at Vira. "Go on." She rests her sword to stand in the floor.

Vira sighs and says, "You are my queen..." Then she sits down on the bed. "but you are also my friend."

"Your friend?" Hera said skeptically.

"Yes." Vira said smiling, then frowns. "Right now, I do not come to you as my queen. I think of you... as my sister."

Hera sinks back into her chair with a smile. "I see the problem now." She then gets angry. "It's that you believe you are special, better than everyone else, above the laws of this kingdom."

"That's not what I was trying to say. Please, listen." Vira tries to explain.

"Assassins are coming to murder me tonight, and you're wasting what precious time I have left." Hera raises her voice.

"No, Hera, I-" Vira was then cut off.

"Stop. How about, 'No, Your Highness.' In fact, let's try, 'Yes, Your Highness' for a change."

Vira becomes visibly annoyed by her so-called friend's persistent refusal to let her help. "Oh, are you sure you wouldn't prefer 'Your Royal Highness'? 'Your Esteemed Inimitable Majesty', perhaps?" she asked sarcastically.

Hera then stands up and stomps her foot. "I have put up with your arrogance for too long, perhaps even encouraged it! I knew appointing you was a mistake! But if today is my last day as queen, you will know your place."

"And where exactly is that place?!" Vira asked infuriately.

"Right here." Hera points to the floor. "On... your... knees."

Unamused, Vira gets up from the bed and gets on her knees in front of Hera, as Pipette flies and lands on Hera's shoulder.

"You are a servant of the kingdom of Katolis. You are a servant."

Pipette squawks to reinforce Hera's point and looks around. Unbeknownst to the queen and her bird, blood begins to leak from Vira's tightly-clenched fist.

Raylis has made his way onto the castle walls, where a row of guards holds watch nearby. He checks on the guards on the lower ground, then scans the area for Runaa.

"You're here. I know you are."

"Raylis." Runna walks up behind him, on the ledge. "You defied me."

"Runaa, you need to call off the mission." Raylis pleaded.

Runaa jumps off the ledge. "You've lost your mind."

"Please, listen to me. I've found something. The egg of the Dragon Princess."

"That's impossible."

"The egg wasn't destroyed, it was stolen. Their High Mage was going to use it for dark magic, but the human princesses found it, and they're only trying to help-"

"No. Humans are liars. This is a trick and a trap. You are a fool, Raylis!"

"He's not a fool." Calla walks from behind some crates behind Raylis. "What he's telling you is the truth."

"You've made a terrible mistake." Runaa said, drawing her bow.

"Ez, show her." Calla tells Ezra, who also walked from behind the crate with Bait on her head and the egg of the Dragon Princess in her hands. Runaa is shocked and lowers her bow.

"It's beautiful." Runaa stammers as tears begin to fall from her eyes.

"How can we take vengeance for an act that never happened? You have to call it off." Raylis said.

"Raylis, you know it doesn't work that way. We bound ourselves. There's only one way to release." Runaa reminded.

"Runaa, please." Raylis begged. "There has to be another way. This is a miracle, a chance for peace."

"The humans struck down the Queen of the Dragons. There will never be peace. Justice will not be denied. Now give me the egg."

Raylis draws both his blades. "Calla, Ezra, go."

"But-" Calla tried to protest.

"Just keep it safe." Raylis tells the princesses.

Calla and Ezra run back towards the tower behind them, as Raylis and Runaa prepare for a standoff on the castle ledge. The clouds part, clearing the skies to reveal the bright full moon.

"Don't do this." Runaa warned.

"You're forcing me to this." Raylis countered.

Runaa lowers her eyebrows, readies her weapon and enters her Moonshadow Form. "I will kill you."

Raylis enters his Moonshadow Form as well. "Probably." he replied with a smug smile. The two then dash towards each other, where Runaa initiates with a jumping strike that Raylis parries.

Still chained inside her mother's secret room, Claude searches for ingredients for a spell that free him from the chains.

"Let's see, a spell to break the chain."

He searches the desk and shelves for anything of use, then winces at the contents of a jar, picks up an orange feathers, and spills some other ingredients, when she notices the key lying nearby.

"Hmm?" He picks up the key. "Well, fun as it would be to turn the chains into snakes, I guess I'll just use the key." He unlocks his chain and runs out.

Calla, Ezra, and Bait are hurrying down the stairs of the castle tower with the dragon egg, panting. They make their way out and stop at a hay cart. Calla puts her backpack inside the hay, then turns to help the others get inside as well.

"You need to stay here, hidden." Calla lifts Ezra and Bait inside the hay. "Keep the egg safe." Bait croaks in response. "I'll go talk to the queen."

Ezra emerges from the hay with Bait on her head. "Calla, why don't you just call him 'Mom'?"

"Because she's the queen. And I'm her step-daughter. Sonja made that clear all my life."

"Who cares what Sonja think? I think mom would want you to. If you wanted to."

"Maybe, but I don't know. Be right back." Calla runs off to Hera. Ezra looks on and sighs sadly, wishing that Calla would just accept Ezra's mom as hers too.

Once up inside the tower, Calla pushes through the guards protecting the entrance, determined to see the queen.

"Whoa, slow down there, step-princess. The queen's pretty busy right now. Trying not to, you know, die and stuff."

"I am aware of that, Sonja. And I know she's my step-mom! It doesn't make it any different between you and Vira."

After a brief silence for that last remark, Sonja says, "You're not getting in."

"Try to stop me." Calla said adamantly.

As Calla tries to force her way to the door, Vira opens the door and walks out, looking very upset.

"You should not be here." Vira said with annoyance in her voice.

Calla noticed Vira had a bloodied bandage wrapped around her hand, and takes a step backwards. "Then why are you there?" Calla asked. The only response she got was a steely glare from Vira.

While guards are covering the grounds below the tower, the battle at the top continues. Runaa slashes at Raylis furiously, as Raylis walks backward, ducks, and parries on the edge of a castle tower. He manages to get a hit in, but Runaa parries back and dashes forward while taking multiple swipes at Raylis. He blocks them, but Runaa pushes forward, until the two are stuck in a deadlock.

"You're better than this." Runaa tells Raylis.

"No, not really." Raylis shakes her head. "You've had about 20 years more training."

"Not your fighting skills. I mean your character." Runaa reaffirmed.

Runaan kicks Rayla off the ledge with his leg, who slams into a wall and grunts. She barely manages to grab onto the ledge with her blades before swinging herself back onto steady ground, where she needs to dodge incoming arrows without a second to rest. Runaan splits his bow back into two blades, jumps off of the ledge, and powers himself off of a wall to charge Rayla, who parries him off to the side.

"My character is better. Better than yours apparently." Raylis said, then points a sword to Runaa. "You saw the egg. There's no need for vengeance anymore. This changes everything!"

Raylis charges at Runaa, who parries. They exchange multiple blows, both continuing to parry the attacks.

"This changes nothing!" Runaa screamed. "And it certainly doesn't change what your parents did! Or rather didn't!"

Raylis strikes back harder for that remark, while Runaa defends herself and strike back.

A short break occurs where Raylis stands, panting and glancing towards the castle tower. Runaa looks over behind her to the tower, and realizes something. "You're just trying to stall me."

"Interesting theory." Raylis casually leans on one of his blades. "Care to discuss?"

"Your justice will come later." Runaa said in frustration, then jumps off the castle wall onto rooftops and down into town.

"No, wait!" Raylis called out, as he can only watch as Runaa runs through the village, unable to stop her.

Calla stands in front of Vira with an angry look on her face. "I know what you did. You stole the egg of the Dragon Princess. We found it, and we're keeping it safe." She said defiantly.

"'We'?" Vira asked, unfazed.

"The queen will throw you to the dungeon when she finds out about this."

"Oh? And what makes you so sure she doesn't already know?" Vira asked.

The determined look on Calla's face fades. She can't believe her... she can't believe the queen would have allowed this.

"Grab her." Vira ordered Sonja.

"But she's the Princess." Sonja said, concerned.

"Do it!" Vira yelled angrily.

Without much hesitation, the other guards step forward and grab Calla as she tries to run, then place her back in front of Vira.

"Now, tell me." Vira then raise her voice. "Where is the egg?!"

"I'll call out, I'll scream!" Calla said defiantly.

"Go ahead." Vira dared.

Vira pulls out the mummified paw of some animal and crushes it in her palm. Her eyes light up purple as she begins to chant, "Viren Eciov eht laets." (2)

The paw emits a green mist that travels into Calla's mouth and takes out a yellow light. Calla's attempts to speak but nothing but air comes out of her mouth, causing her to wheeze when she tries to call out for help. Vira grabs the yellow light as her eyes turn from purple to black. Sonja was horrified by this, but didn't dare say anything.

The courtyard remains heavily patrolled by guards looking out for any threats from every location. Raylis dashes over a rooftop, causing a guard to look over to locate the movement. He spies on some guards passing through the area and creeps up on a guard, throwing a rock to distract her. Raylis walks towards a hay cart, where a blue glow eminates. Changing back to his usual form, he breaks apart the hay to find Bait glowing brightly.

"This one's not so good at hiding." Raylis said amused.

Bait croaks.

Ezra pops out of the hay with Bait on her head. "I told him that."

"Uh, where's your brother?" Raylis asked.

"She went up to the tower to see our mom." Ezra answered.

Raylis looks frantically at the tower. "Oh, no. That's the last place she should be right now."

"You impudent little misbegotten." Vira said to Calla with disdain in her voice. "You were spoiled and given everything... and that has left you weak and helpless. Tonight, your world is changing, and there is nothing you or anyone can-" She was then cut off by the sound of wind howling sharply from the stairway.

Then, one by one, the torches blow out, leaving the hallway in a cloud of darkness. The Crownguard soldiers ready their weapons.

"They're here!" Sonja said.

Vira slowly walks towards the stairway when an arrow suddenly flies straight towards Calla. In an instant, Sonja pushes her away and allows the arrow to hit her armor instead. Grunting, Sonja takes the arrow out of her plate and throws it to the ground, pulling out her sword.

"Defend the doors!" Sonja shouts her orders.

The guards slowly creep forward when Skora launches from out of the stairwell, knocking out two guards, and knee-ing another in the head. The other assassins pile in as Runaa shoots arrows and orders to attack. The assassins and guards struggle against each other, neither of them budging. As Vira walks behind one of the guards, they step backward, accidentally hitting her, making her drop the paw and the light that came out of Calla's mouth crosses the battlefield, and returns to its owner. Calla coughs as she watches Callista kicking against the door to the queen's chambers, attempting to break through. Sonja swings back at Callista, who dodges.

"Queen Hera! Your majesty!" Calla yelled, then desperately, "MOM!"

Sonja manages to push Callista back, but the Crownguard is soon overwhelmed by the other assassins trying to push their way through. Calla watches in fear, unable to help.

"Calla! Calla, where are you?!" Ezra was calling out from the courtyard.

Calla looks out the window to see Ezra and Raylis almost nearing the castle exit.

"Calla!" Ezra called out again.

Calla looks back at the doors, where guards continue to fight the elves, and Lady Vira backing away and glaring at Calla. Calla looks back and forth, before deciding with a heavy heart that she has no choice but to leave. She flees down the staircase, where she trips over the body of a fallen female guard, rising up to find herself staring at another body. Despite a short shock, she continues to run down the stairs, meeting with the others once she's finally outside in the courtyard.

"Calla! Did you talk with mom?" Ezra asked.

Swords clang in the distance, as Calla gathers herself and shakes her head. The group looks back at the tower and Raylis walks up to Calla.

"Say the word and I'll go back into that tower with you." Raylis said, as he hands Calla her bag.

Calla looks at the egg, then at Ezra. "No. It's up to us now. We have to return this egg. We have to keep it safe and carry it to Xadia."

"And find its father." Ezra added.

"We could change things. We could make a difference." Raylis said eagerly.

"Just the three of us." Calla said. Then she heard Bait croak and turning red, and giggled. "The four of us."

Raylis and Calla nod at each other, before the group runs towards the castle exit while guards are running in. After sneaking past the guards, they run across the castle bridge, where they glance back at the tower the king is being protected in.

"Calla, do you think mom will be okay?" Ezra asked.

"She has the finest guards in the kingdom defending her." Calla assured Ezra.

"Yeah." Ezra said with worry. Then she looks up cheerfully. "Yeah, of course."

The group runs off into the forest while the castle comes back into focus.

After a long battle, Runaa carries herself toward the balcony of Hera's chambers, past a fallen guard and elf. Resting against the balcony door for a moment, Runaa grunts and pants heavily before heading outside. As she prepares her final arrow, her assassin's binding dyes red, turning into a blood ribbon, and falls off her arm. Runaa collapses on her knees and wraps the ribbon around a shadowhawk arrow.

"Regina Draconis!" Runaa shouted as she fires the arrow, which transforms into a blood red shadowhawk and screeches, flying across the bright moon sky.

As Runaa watched the shadowhawk fly off, Sonja puts a sword next to her neck. "Finish this." the elf said.

"My pleasure." Sonja said as she prepares to swing her sword.

"No, wait!" Claude interrupted. "We can find more practical uses for this one. Tie her up!" He ordered the guards.

With an unfazed look on her face, Runaa is dragged away.

The newly-formed trio, or rather quartet if one counts Bait, has reached the forest near Katolis, leaving the castle in the distance. Eventually, Raylis stops to look at his right wrist, noticing that his binding has turned into a blood ribbon as well, confirming that Hera has been slain. In that moment, Runaa's shadowhawk flies over his head, carrying her blood ribbon and the message to the Dragon King.

Calla looks back at Raylis, noticing he looked very concern. "What's going on? Somethings wrong."

"No, it's..." Raylis said, hiding his hand behind his back, slightly dazed. "We should stop and rest soon. It's a long journey to Xadia."

They smile at each other and walk further into the forest, underneath the full moon.

Author's Notes:

In the episode, Viren called Callum a "mongrel", which one of the definitions is "someone or something of mixed kind or uncertain origin, especially a dog". I'm guessing it refers to Callum not being Harrow's "real son". I think Vira would call Calla something similar, and I picked "misbegotten", which is another word for illegitimate child, but I thought it's a fitting word since Calla isn't Hera's actual daughter.
