"Are you sure about this?" Kouga eyed the beach warily, Daiki's hand clasped firmly in his own.

"Yer the one who wanted to expand his horizons," Inuyasha said, setting up a large umbrella.

"I meant something like a public pool," his mate said, feeling their son grab his hand tighter. They'd specifically come later in the day to avoid the crowds, giving them enough space so Daiki would feel comfortable walking into the surf.

He hoped.

Inuyasha stripped off his shirt, Daiki looking up and doing the same, giggling to himself when he got stuck, and waving his hands around through the sleeves.

"Come 'ere squirt," Inuyasha said, helping him out of his shirt. "Are ya ready to go for a real swim?" The boy looked hesitantly at the water, gripping a bright orange octopus.

Kouga sat down on the sand, turning Daiki around, and giving him a bright smile. "We'll be with you the whole time." He raised his arms, showing off his muscles. "And remember, Daddy gets paid to save people, so you'll be safe no matter what."

Daiki mimicked his pose, clenching his arms in a downward motion before grabbing Kouga's face and rubbing their noses together.

"That's our brave boy," Inuyasha said, ruffling his hair, both males grabbing his hands and walking towards the water. It took a little cajoling, and Inuyasha throwing Kouga into the water several times, but soon Daiki was jumping over the waves, laughing each time they chased him back towards the shore.
