Chapter 7

First Date

It didn't take long for their friends and family to find out the two were dating. They broke the news to the friends after Ino and Sakura confronted them about what they were talking about. Yoshiro nearly hugged them both to death and his dad just smiled. Tsunade was pleased. She had won a gamble that the two be together in a month. Guy and Sakura won the other bets. Shikamara was annoyed about the bets. Akina really didn't care. She was happy. They went on a few missions together. They had promised Tsunade that they wouldn't let their relationship get in the way. Which it didn't. They had each others backs.

Akina stood in her hotel room. They just got done with an escort mission and decided to spend the night since they got done late. Shikamaru asked if she wanted to do a dinner as their first date and look at the stars after on a hill overlooking the village. Akina had taken a nice long bath in the hot springs. She was looking forward to having a date with Shikamaru. Akina stood in some casual clothes she wore when she wasn't on a mission. She pulled her hair up into a ponytail. A knock on the door came.

"Kina. You ready?" Shikamaru asked. Akina liked the nickname he gave her. Akina pushed the door open to see Shikamaru leaning against the wall, waiting for her. Shikamaru was dressed in his casual ware as well. Shikamaru was so relaxed. It was a easy mission today and they got to relax before going back to the Hidden Leaf. Shikamaru stood straight.

"I'm ready." Akina said.

"Let's go get food then." Shikamaru said. The two walked towards a restraunt not far from the hotel they were staying at. Shikamaru found her hand as they walked and they linked their hands together. Akina felt comfortable with him. They arrived at a restraunt that was a ramen shop. They found some seats near the back of the shop to be left alone. The waitress brought over menus. They ordered the food they want.

"We can leave tomorrow morning and get back to the leaf in time for supper. Mother would love for you to stay." Shikamaru said.

"And Shoji after?" Akina said with a smile. She sure loved spending time playing with him, even though she couldn't beat him yet. Shikamaru gave her a smile that he only gives her.

"You keep wanting to play even though you keep loosing?" Shikamaru said.

"I'll beat you someday." Akina said. Shikamaru chuckled.

"We will see." Shikamaru said as food was set in front of them. Akina ate her food in silence as Shikamaru ate as well. Both enjoyed the silence.

After dinner. They sat on a hill overlooking the village. Akina leaned against the tree and Shikamaru had his head in her lap. Akina was running her fingers through his hair. He relaxed at her touch. Akina laid her head against the trunk. She looked down at Shikamaru and smiled. His eyes were closed and he looked so peaceful.

"Your staring." Shikamaru said.

"You look so peaceful when you got your eyes closed. Your always serious with our friends and family. This is a nice sight with you." Akina said. Shikamaru opened his eyes and looked at her. She was more relaxed then she ever was when Akina joined the Hidden Leaf. Shikamaru knew she was still hiding stuff and he wasn't willing to push her for the truth. Shikamaru sat up and looked at her.

"Will you ever tell me the truth of your past. I'm not pushing you. Now that we... are dating. I like to know some stuff." Shikamaru said. Akina looked at him and sighed. She knew he was right. "If your not ready its fine."

"I know. It's just... Your my first boyfriend that treated me good. My ex was abusive." Akina said, rubbing her arm. Shikamaru saw red but kept a straight face. "He's the reason I came to my mother for safety. My father was killed by him. I came home from a mission with my best friend and found him dead. I knew who killed him because I broke up with him awhile ago. He was using me for something. I think he wanted the 10 tails, but I couldn't prove it. When I came to the Village I swore I was just gonna focus on training and go on missions. TThat was till I met you." Shikamaru took her face in his hands.

"I won't treat you like he did. And I would like to one day meet the 10 tails." Shikamaru said. Akina smiled. She leaned into him and pressed her lips to his. They kiss as the moon rose high in the sky.

Tsunade was sitting at her desk, looking over some paperwork. A smile was on her face. Akina and Shikamaru were now a couple and she couldn't be more happy for her daughter. Shikamaru had asked for that mission so they could go on a date afterwards and spend the night away. She had agreed and Akina seemed happy about it.

Shizune burst into the room looking nervous.

"What is it?" Tsunade asked, setting the paper down on the desk.

"Where is Akina right now?" Shizune said. A frown appeared on Tsunade's face. Something wasn't right if Shizune looked worried.

"She's on a mission to help escort some people back home. Her and Shikamaru won't be back till tomorrow night. What's wrong?" Tsunade asked.

"Akina's ex just discovered where Akina ran off to and broke out of jail. He's on his way here." Shizune said. Tsunade pinched the bridge of her nose. "Should I send word for Akina and Shikamaru to come back."

"No. Its to late for that. Shikamaru is with her and the Hidden stone is a few days journey here. Akina will be home by then. Warn the guards and have Anbu Black Ops watch for her and bring her here when she gets here with Shikamaru." Tsunade said.

"Yes, my lady." Shizune said and runs out. Tsunade stood up and went to the window.

'Just what that girl needs right now. What the hell does he want with her?' Tsunade thought.
