Chapter Nine: Return of the Magical Girls!
Sailor Pluto crowed, "We have FINALLY regained control of the meeting room!"
"Yay," several women chorused.
Due to various circumstances the group had been bumped from the meeting room the last two weeks. Plus, last week's meeting was cancelled when a massive group of Sailor Moons had nearly ruptured space-time in the bar.
(Long story.)
"Where's Panty and Stocking?" Vivio Takamachi-Testarossa asked, the teenager visiting them from the near future.
"Off making their new anime," Princess Diana, Wonder Woman noted.
There was a bit of grumbling over that. Several of them hadn't had a new series in quite awhile, after all. On the other hand, it was apparently Netflix, and anime didn't do terribly well on there.
"WHAT am I doing here?" Diana wondered aloud.
"Yes you're a superhero, but you're magic, and a woman, therefore Magical Girl," Sailor Pluto noted.
"I suppose that makes sense." Diana conceded.
"Plus there's that Shadow Crystal Mage fanfic where Nanoha-momma is a Green Lantern too and she keeps saying you're a magical girl," Vivio noted.
"No breaking the Fourth Wall, please," Sakura Kinomoto noted, sighing.
"Chasing the Clow-whatever cards, again?" Pluto asked mildly.
"No, this time my SOUL got shattered into feathers and we're chasing it across the multiverse!" Sakura groaned.
"Oh, you're the Tsubasa version of Sakura," Vivio observed.
"Yeah. AND I don't even get to hook up with Tomoyo this time!" Sakura complained. "I WANT THE TOMOYO-NOOKIE!"
"Bit out of character, much?" Vivio muttered.
"Sometimes I think CLAMP just likes seeing you miserable," Pluto noted.
"Hoeeee," Sakura sighed.
"Looks like it," Kyoko Sakura noted, the red headed spear user at the meeting along with her magical girlfriend.
"Don't be mean," Sayaka Miki sighed, the sword using bluemette sitting beside her.
"When are the snacks coming?" Kyoko teased.
"I'm expecting at least one other girl," Pluto noted.
"Hello, everyone," Yuna waved as she strode in, still wearing her bear pajamas.
She was soon followed by several young women Pluto didn't recognize, along with Yuna's girlfriend, Fina.
"Ladies," Vivio looked curious.
"Hi, we're Yuna's harem," a sporty young woman in a school uniform added.
"Don't joke," Yuna sighed.
"Who's joking," another young woman in mage like robes noted.
Yuna just groaned.
"I see your situation has evolved...?" Pluto asked.
"Yes," Fina sighed cutely.
The meeting was started, then most of everyone introduced themselves, and they got to Yuna...
"I'm Yuna, a japanese teen who was isekai'd into a new world to become a adventurer," she bnowed.
"I'm Fina, her first wife," the next woman smiled shyly.
"I am Rurina, the mage, and second wife," the slightly older woman waved.
"And I am Princess Teilia, the third wife," the sporty girl in uniform noted cheerfully. She addressed the others, "I STILL think I should be wife number one, because rank."
"It's order by when we met Yuna," Rurina said firmly.
"Oh poo," Teilina pouted.
"I thought you and Fina were exclusive?" Vivio asked, frowning slightly.
"We were, but...," Yuna made a face.
"Politics," Sailor Pluto nodded.
"Huh?" Kyoko blinked.
Yuna nodded glumly as she said, "Yeah. You see, it became publicly known about how powerful I actually am."
Sayaka nodded, "Uh huh?"
"So a bunch of nobles started trying to force me to be engaged to their sons and daughters," Yuna added.
"So father decided it would be best to keep someone so powerful in the family, and engaged her to me," Teilina noted smugly.
"They allow group marriages?" Sakura blinked.
"If you're a noble and can support and house everyone," Teilina answered, "you have to jump through some hoops."
"So... why Rurina?" Vivio asked.
"When I found out Yuna was marrying Teilina too, I pressed my case," Rurina admitted. "I've had a crush for awhile..."
"Girl, you got GAME," Kyoko teased Yuna.
"Shut UP," Yuna groaned.
"Moving on... Vivio-san, what are you doing in this era?" Pluto addressed the athletic looking woman in Midchilde armor.
"Heh.. actually, I was trying to find information on Alicia Testarossa," Vivio admitted.
"Your Mother's Sister?" Pluto blinked.
"Yes. There's indications she might be alive...," Vivio explained, then wilted as Pluto frowned at her.
"What?" Fina asked.
"She's trying to change the timeline," Pluto said flatly.
"I could rescue Alicia and reunite everybody," Vivio pouted.
"Or rupture history and cause things to play out much worse," Pluto pointed out.
"Worse. Ha!" Kyouko growned.
"Trouble?" Princess Diana asked, as Pluto looked concerned.
"Kyouko..," Sayaka started.
"Fuck yes, trouble," Kyoko burst out, "Mami's DEAD, and we found out we're fucking ZOMBIES!"
"What?" Sakura looked at her gently.
"It's not.. quite that bad," Sayaka made a face. "But yeah. We found out Kyubi lied to us, and we're basically soulless bodies kept animated by our magic."
"That's terrible," Yuna said.
"And we have to keep fighting witches forever, or we'll die or turn monster ourselves." Kyoko added bitterly.
Sailor Pluto kept any trace of pity from her face, she knew Kyoko would NOT take it well. She had known about how Puella Magi worked, but couldn't tell them for risk of rupturing the timeline. Sometimes, being a time traveller was hard.
"Can we track down and punish this Kyubey?" Diana offered ominously.
"Thanks for the thought," Sayaka smiled weakly, "he can't be killed."
Kyoko noted, "At least NOW we know why Homura hates it sio much."
"And maybe we can keep it from getting Madoka," Sayaka added with a sigh.
Diana added, "It may not help, but there is a certain nobility in sacrifice, and protecting your friends and world at great cost to yourself."
"I'm not noble," Kyoko waved that off.
Sayaka seemed touched by the comment, though.
The meeting broke up not long after, and Vivio paused. "Non-interference sucks," she sighed as she left.
Pluto got the sense she was much older than she seemed... 'How far into the future is she from?'
Before Pluto could ask, she was gone.
