Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing great.

I'm over the moon with the wonderful Burzek content the show has given us and apart from enjoying every second of it, I just really hope they don't screw this up for us.

I'm so sorry for taking so long to update. I was a bit stuck and work was crazy, but now I feel a little more motivated, not only by the show but by the wonderful comments this story gets.

I love reading them, they always keep me moving forward.

Hope you like this little update.

Happy reading!

Nina

Her place was a mess, at least it was for Kim's standards.

As soon as Adam dropped her off, not before kissing her goodbye, she darted to her apartment wanting to put everything back on its place. Sure a few days had gone by since most of her memories came back and she had quite some time to time to adapt to it all, but her environment didn't and she wanted to change that. She wanted to have the photos and pictures back on her fridge, she wanted the empty picture frame that was neatly packed away in one of her drawers back on the shelf displaying one of the early shots they had taken together from when they first started dating.

Yes, Kim was still a bit scared and overwhelmed at times, but now the predominant feeling was excitement. She was truly excited to get her life back, to put it together in whichever way would work for them.

Once she felt her apartment was finally ready, she threw herself on the couch and pulled out her phone. She needed to talk to Sylvie. They hadn't had much contact the last couple of days and Kim was feeling it. Besides, she also wanted to invite her friend and Matt to go to Molly's tonight.

Hey Syl… I know you're working so don't rush to read or answer this.

Adam invited us to go to Molly's tonight. Intelligence is gonna be there and of course Matt is invited too. I miss you and we have a ton to catch up with, please come!

Sylvie's answer came faster than Kim expected, and reading her friend's text put a smile on the brunette's face.

You bet I will!

You know, I'm super happy you're back with your man and you remember and all, but I still miss my best friend.

Oh, boo! You don't need to worry about that. You're irreplaceable.

Damn right I am! See you tonight!

See you!

The rest of the day was devoted to doing the little things that Kim had avoided all this time, going through her car options was one of those. She tried to pay attention to the information the insurance company had sent her, but she truly was relying on her dad and Adam to give her a hand.

Apart from that she had some grocery shopping to do and check when her next medical appointment was due and once all of those errands were done she was finally free to get ready for the night.

Adam being the overprotective boyfriend that he was, had already called her to remind her he loved her and to let her know that he would be picking her up right after stopping by his place for a quick shower.

It was just a night at Molly's so she didn't want to over do it, but it was also the first real interaction she was going to have with Adam's CPD family after the accident and she wanted to look nice, and to be completely honest, she wanted to look sexy for her man.

She ended up wearing high waisted blue jeans and a white top with broad straps that showed just a little of her waist skin. Her hair was up in a half ponytail with a loose strand to frame her face. The black eyeliner brought out that sparkle in her eyes and the dark red lipstick was the perfect accent to the whole look.

"You didn't have to come all the way up here you know? You could have texted me and I would've gone to your truck." She said as soon as she opened the door. Although Kim never liked to feel smothered, she totally understood where Adam was coming from and to be honest she thought he was being totally adorable. However, his current lack of response was getting her a bit nervous. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You're probably right. I don't even wanna go to Molly's now." Kim smiled shyly as he leant forward to place a quick peck on her lips. "I'm not going to touch you too much because I'm not sure if I could stop knowing we're just a few feet away from your bedroom. You're looking hot, Belle."

"Why, thank you detective." Her smile was shining brighter now as she did a little bow. "You don't look so bad yourself." Kim interrupted their little greeting to go get her things and get going. "That was a sad kiss though. I was expecting something else." She said on their way to his truck.

"I am sorry darlin' but that's the kiss you're going to get if we're in public and you're dressed like that and you don't want to be late." He walked around his car to open the door for her. "It was always hard for me to keep my hands off you in the first place and now it's even harder, it's like we have all this time to make up for. I could literally be locked up in a room with you for the next two months and I wouldn't complain."

"You're an idiot." They both chuckled before Kim stole another quick peck off his lips.

"An irresistible one." He joked.

"Totally true."

The trip to Molly's wasn't long. They played some music on the way there and Adam started telling her his usual speech every time they would meet people. That included saying who was going to be there and assuring her that if she felt like it was too much at any given moment, it was only a matter of letting him know and that he would pull her right out of there. He knew she was doing better, but he also knew that part of that had to do with helping her feel prepared and safe.

As she heard him speak, she started to wonder if it was really possible for her to fall deeper in love with him as each day went by, because that's exactly what she felt every waking second. He kept rambling on and she just took advantage of that red light ahead of the and leant forward to kiss him. Really kiss him. The kind of kiss that smudged her makeup and left a stain on his own lips.

"What was that about?"

He looked surprised and she couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her mouth. His confused face and red lips were pretty funny.

"You're not the only one having trouble keeping your hands to yourself." She said lightly. She wasn't going to tell him how loud her heart was beating for him, not now at least. Kim looked ahead and pulled down the mirror on Adam's truck to fix her makeup. "Please remind me to get you cleaned up before you get out of your car." Adam checked himself out in the rear view mirror and laughed.

"I look like the It clown. Nice job babe." He said in total irony.

"Thank you." She smiled proudly.

A few minutes after, they were in Molly's with the rest of the gang.

"You're here early." Atwater's remark sounded more like a mockery than anything.

"You owe us a round." Adam looked at his friend with a playful smile.

"So that's what everything was about earlier?" Kim added finding the childish bet between the two cops totally amusing.

"Sorry darling. I needed to keep our honor high."

"Yeah, I see. Nice to see you again Kev."

"Come here Burgess." The big guy went closer to Kim and wrapped her in a big hug. "I really missed you around. Plus, having to stand this one whining all the time was a real pain in my ass." He was trying to put some fun to the whole situation, because backing his brother up was never a sacrifice to him. However, seeing him so heartbroken had killed Kevin.

"Hey it wasn't that bad." Adam shot back trying to clean his reputation as both Kevin and Kim bonded over their hug.

"Let go of her Kev, I wanna give my girl a hug too." Hailey interrupted. "Hey!" The blonde also wrapped her armed arms around Kim. She was pretty much the woman of the hour right now.

"Hi! I'm so sorry again, for leaving your party early the other night."

"Oh, forget about it Kim. You already apologized via text and to be honest, when I invited you I was kinda hoping for that to happen. So it was definitely a win for me."

"Thank you. You were really supportive though all this crap and I know that you were all there to back him up as well. That really means the world to both of us."

"You don't even have to mention that Kim." Jay came forward and hugged her as well. "We are a family and right from the start I knew you were going to be a big part of it. We'll always be here."

"Thanks." Kim almost blushed. The amount of love she had received over this very difficult time was just unbelievable and she was incredibly proud of the family they had chosen to be around them. "Speaking of family, where's Sylvie? She told me she was on her way long before Adam even picked me up."

As if they were linked though some sort of telepathic connection the blonde teacher was actually getting to the table of detectives when her friend mentioned her name. She had in fact gotten there a few minutes ago, said hello to Jay, Kevin and Hailey and then left to get a drink, find Matt, who was gata sing right next to her.

"Here I am!"

If the prior hugs filled Kim's soul with overflowing love, Sylvie's embrace crushed her bones. "Long time no see. Listen you," She pulled away from her friend and pointed an accusatory finger to the bearded detective. "It's the last time you keep her away from me for that long. Understood?" She pretended to be mad and both Adam and her ended up laughing. They always had a nice relationship, but if anything positive came out of Kim's accident was the bond they developed. Sylvie was his girlfriend's best friend almost like a sister and she became exactly the same to him.

"I thought we were cool, Brett. Besides you had her all to yourself for a while. I'm owed some quality time." Adam shot back before hugging her and doing the same to Matt.

"Fine."

The rest of the evening was perfect. Everyone chit chatted just like the old times and once again Kim felt like she fitted right in and that everyone there together as a big family was the missing piece to the puzzle of her life.

The guys talked about work and sports and the girls were more interested in talking about Hailey's wedding which was only two weeks away. The blonde detective was nervous and thrilled at the same time. She felt like most of it was take care of but still had a bunch of details to solve and Kim and Sylvie offered to help, especially since Burgess had quite some free time that was, more often than not, getting on her nerves.

"I love seeing how close you and Hails got. She's a very important part of my life and obviously so are you and the fact that you two get along really well, makes me very happy."

Adam confessed as he threw himself on Kim's couch.

They had agreed to call it a night and when he dropped her off, she invited him to spend the night at her place. How could he ever deny that offer?

"I'm not sure if you remember this or not, but you two didn't get off to a great start."

"I remember some of it. But I also remember going out for drinks with her and having a pretty good time."

"That is true. We weren't in a great place then."

"I remember that, too. Thank God that's not where we're standing now." She cuddled on his side and draped an arm over his stomach. "And in regards to Hailey, she was really sweet with me and helped me during a time I thought I was about to lose my shit. Well, I actually lost it. So yeah, I'm glad she's in your corner and I'm happy to call her my friend as well."

"I love you. You know that right?" He asked with a sweet kiss on the top of her head.

"I know. I love you too." A deep breath paused her utterance. "Thank you for coming over tonight."

"Thank you for inviting me. I'm gonna have to leave a bit early tomorrow so I can stop by my place and get changed before going to the district."

"Um, about that." She started to draw random patterns over his shirt showing how hesitant she was to continue speaking. Adam picked that up in a heartbeat and waited attentively to hear what she had to say. "I was sort of cleaning up the apartment today, putting some things back into place."

"Yeah, I saw a few changes. I love it."

"Thanks." She stopped fiddling with her fingers and looked up to find his face. "Anyway. While I was at it I cleaned up my closet too, rearranged some things and there's some extra room in there." Kim stopped talking, hoping that Adam would connect the dots, but the only response he got from him was a fun chuckle.

"Ok. Where do you want to get to, Belle?"

"Well, I figured you could keep a change of clothes here or something. I mean I have a bunch of stuff at your place I didn't even know about, so I guess you used to have things here, too? If you did, I would like you to have them here again and if you didn't, there's some space in my closet that would love to be filled with your clothes." She shrugged her shoulders while her face showed embarrassment and nervousness that Adam found so irresistibly cute. No words were needed at that moment. He reached down and captured her mouth with his. It was sweet, yet passionate and hungry. This woman awoke every single kind of feeling he thought he would never feel. He wanted to protect her sweet and kind heart and at the same time she drove him absolutely crazy and wanted to jump her bones twenty-four seven.

"I used to keep some of my things here." He said softly as his lips barely parted hers. "And I would love to have them back here again."

Kim smiled and absentmindedly giggled after he kissed her again.

"Good."

"Good?" His voice was starting to become husky and she knew exactly what that meant.

"Yeah." She sighed as his body got closer to hers. "Very good."

"Uh huh." He continued to kiss her softly. Their movements were slow, giving this whole sexy vibe to the atmosphere. Her hands were quick to find their way under his shirt as one of her legs climbed up his hip out of its own volition. They both wanted to get rid of their clothing, enjoy the soft feeling of their skin touching and reconnect in the most intimate way possible.

"Adam?"

"Yeah?"

"Let's go to bed."

"Are you tired?"

"Not exactly." She answered with a playful smirk that put a big smile on Adam's face. He stood up and scooped her right off the couch and complied with her wish.

They finished the night loving each other the way they knew how to do.
