It was the next morning, so while Shocket and the otherkids were up and getting ready for the Avengers test that the adultshad told them about last night, Casey was getting ready to go out and hang out with her best friend, Crystal Pimperton along with having breakfast at Applebee's so the female kit was getting ready, putting on herhooded top which had her uncle's emblem on it, putting on her khaki-green trousers which had a gole in the back for her tail to fit, putting what she wanted or needed into her backpack for the day, hearing her communicator bracelet beeping, reminding her that she had to get going.
"I better go see uncle Rockie before I go, as he's probably nervous, about the test, for Shocket to pass." she said putting her backpack on leaving her room.
She then went downstairs to where the kitchens were, hearing laughter and talking, guessing it was the other kids seeing Rocket there, alomg with her folks, Ranger and Riley who smirked seeing her in a more happier mood compared to last night, knowing she was going to hang out with her best friend, seeing her nodding.
"Don't worry uncle Rockie, Shocket will do great, trust me, but I gotta get going, okay?" she told him
"Thanks honey, just be careful and don't take your bands off, unless you have to." Rocket told her.
Casey nodded, leaving for the day making the other kids wonder where she wasgoimg, but Shocket decided to not tell them hoping Casey would be alright, seeing her happy.
Casey was making her way to meet Crystal and arrived at Applebee's seeing her there with another girl their age with green eyes, dark-red hair, wearing a shirt with her uncle on it with jeggings and sneakers plus had a backpack makimg Casey intruiged by this newcomer, makimg Crystal smirk at her best pal's reaction.
"This is Bree and a big fan of your uncle." the magenta-furred and haired goblin girl announced"
Casey could sense that Bree wasfriendly and a fan of her uncle, so if shewas friends with Crystal, then it was okay smilimg seeing her backpack making Crystal agree, as they were sitting down at a table, talking and bonding, which helped her and Bree become friends, realising she was the one who sent her uncle fanmail a lot, which was sweet, checking the time on her cellphone.
"Yep, the test's begun, I hope uncle Rockie'sokay." she said softly makimg Bree and Crystal wonder what was wrong.
"Today the other kids including my cuz, Shocket who is my uncle's kid are taking this big test, to get into the Avengers intern program, and my uncle was a little anxious this morning, before I left." Casey explained.
"I'm sure she'll pass, she's Rocket's kid." Bree said makimg Casey agree.
"Yeah but the test is in three parts with the first part being a written test to show knowledge, the second part to use your powers and strengths using good judgement and the final part, a mission in the simulator, where you might have to face fear which might trip Shocket up because of her past being imprisoned by the Collector, which is why my uncle is nervous." Casey them making Bree and Crystal understand.
After eating and paying, they were hanging out and having fun, while in Central Park heading for Coney Island, so they couldride rides among other things, but Casey decided to wait until she got back to the compound, to see how thingshad went, so was having fun with Crystal and her new friend, Bree laughing and just having fun.
It was early evening by the time she got back to the cimpound, yet Casey was feeling happy despite being tired seeing that the adults were setting up for the party that always happened for those that got into the intern program seeing her uncle happy, seeing Shocket had passed making her relieved, going ustairs to her room, hearing giggling from under herpillow seeing her mom's Groot that had grown into a saplimg there, makimg her smile.
"I guess you were playing hide and seek, eh Buddy?" she said.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." Buddy replied while on her furry shoulder, making her grin, guessing she should go find her mom, just in case she was worrying about Buddy leaving her room, going downstairs hearing the party was in full swing making the female kit sigh, making Buddy confused, as they went into the kitchen making the saplimg excited seeing ice-cream which made Casey grin.
"I am Groot, I am Groot!" he said excitedly seeing Riley there.
She and Ranger had been watching the other kids taking the test, which had made them think of her so were happy she was here getting Buddy to climb onto her, because she knew like Casey, her little sapling had a major sweet-tooth after Rocket had given him spoonfuls of Ben and Jerry's when she and Ranger had needed some fresh air, hearing Casey telling her about her day, feeling her stomach rumble, as she was hungry after the day she'd had, her eyes widening hearing they could eat some of the party food.
"They won't get mad, they kind of went overboard with the food, and yes, I know Buddy's eyeing the ice-cream cake." she told her making Casey giggle seeing Buddy digging into the cake, just as Rocket walked in, making him chuckle, because it was very cute seeing Ranger and Riley agree but happy that Casey was happy, even seeing the other kids including Shocket wearing intern armour.
"I'm glad that you're in the program, as ncle Rockie was anxious about you padding." Casey told her.
"Yeah, I was kind of anxious too, but Idid it, maybe you will too." Shocket replied to her.
Casey was quiet about that, making Shocket wonder if she was alright, seeing her nod in reply, seeing Buddy running around, hyped-up from the ice-cream making them laugh, while Riley was trying to calm him, along with Rocket makimg Casey giggle being part of the action, despite not being in the intern program.
After a while, things were calming down, so Casey was in her room talking to Crystal on WhatsApp, yawning after the antics that happenedtonight deciding to get some sleep, lyimg down wrapping the blankets around her., just as Riley walked in to check on her kissing her furry forehead, before leaving her be.
