Chapter 146: Wizard Saint vs Wizard Saint! Dante vs Jura!

Dante was currently walking through the empty streets of the capital as he searched for his target. When Marvis explained her strategy to win the battle royal, she admitted that the one person that she hadn't solved was Jura. Hearing this, Dante interrupted Marvis and told her that he could handle her. His reasoning was that the only way to counter a Wizard Saint was to use their own Wizard Saint. It was then decided that Dante would handle Jura, he was determined to beat him no matter how strong Jura was.

"Jura! There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you" stated Dante as he turned a corner to see Jura standing alone. Running over to Jura, Dante smiled at Jura's reaction. Instead of reacting to the sight of the enemy, Jura simply had a confused look on his face as Dante approached.

"Lyon? I thought I heard that you had been knocked out" responded Jura in a confused tone as Dante stopped in front of Jura. Dante was currently using his magic to transform his appearance into Lyon's, making it so it appeared that Lyon was in front of Jura instead of Dante. He had even borrowed Lyon's clothes to make the transformation even more convincing.

"It was close. I was able to use an ice decoy to trick Dante which is why it was announced that I had been knocked out but as you can see I am still in the fight" responded Dante hoping that Jura would believe his lie and let his guard down. Jura nodded his head at these words as he started to speak.

"That was quick thinking, I'm impressed" responded Jura with a smile. Dante smiled back at Jura as he started to speak.

"Thanks, I think we should stick together now that we are the only two left" responded Dante with a smile.

"That sounds like a good idea, if you were really Lyon" responded Jura with a smile. Dante sighed at these words as he responded.

"Damn what gave me away" asked Dante as he released his magic, his face and body transforming back into himself.

"The Lyon I know wouldn't use a decoy to get away, especially if he was fighting close to Juvia. He would want to impress her, not run away" responded Jura with a smile. Dante smiled back at Jura as he started to speak.

"Damn well you can't blame me for trying" responded Dante with a smile.

"I suppose I can't, but do you really intend to take me on by yourself" asked Jura in a confident tone.

"Yah, I do. It's time to find out who is the stronger Wizard Saint" responded Dante in an equally confident tone as he used his magic. Knowing that the fight was going to be intense and difficult, Dante jumped straight towards his Angel Soul Michael form.

"I look forward to finding out" responded Jura as he channeled his magical power. Dante felt the air become heavy with magical power as Jura radiated with energy. Responding in kind, Dante channeled his magical as well to show Jura that he could match him. The ground beneath them shook at the two Wizard Saints radiated an immense amount of magical power. Silence followed for a moment as both opponents sized each other up.

Dante suddenly jumped into action, speeding towards Jura with the Sword of David. Jura then used his magic to erect a large wall made of stone. Not stopping his forward charge, Dante sliced through the stone wall like it was made of butter. As the stone wall fell, Dante noticed that Jura was no longer standing in front of him. As Dante was looking around for Jura, the ground beneath him started to shake violently.

"it's impressive you are able to destroy my barrier so easily, but I wonder how you will handle this" stated Jura from atop a nearby roof. Dante turned his attention to Jura before the ground broke apart beneath him.

Dante used his wings to hover in the air so he did not fall into the crater that had quickly formed at his feet. Simply hovering, however, did not remove the main threat of Jura's attack. The ground that broke apart was now formed into condensed chunks of earth and surrounded Dante. Suddenly the condensed chunks of earth flew towards Dante would didn't have any room to fly out of the way. Smiling at Jura, Dante thought he was going to have to try a lot harder than that.

"This is nothing" shouted Dante in a confident tone as he used his sword to slice apart the attacks flying towards him. Dante was almost a blur as he quickly moved his arms, slicing away each attack that flew towards him. After the dazzling display, Dante was still hovering in place as Jura's attack had failed to hit him.

"Impressive, I'd say your swordsmanship is equal to Erza's" responded Jura in an impressed tone. Smiling back at Jura, Dante started to speak.

"I'm flattered you think so but trust me, if Erza and I fought just using swords she would annihilate me" responded Dante before he used his speed to fly behind Jura. Bringing his sword down towards Jura, Dante was surprised when his attack cleaved right through Jura. The moment that Dante's sword cleaved through Jura, his body turned to stone and crumbled away.

"You exposed yourself" stated Jura from behind Dante before he fired an attack. Suddenly a large stone pillar crashed into Dante's back, sending him to the ground. A large crater formed where Dante hit the ground as a dust cloud was kicked up. A moment of silence followed before a burst of bright light appeared and the stone pillar was shattered. The smoke soon cleared away and Dante was standing on his feet, damaged but far from done.

"I hope you can hit harder than that Jura. I've had harder hits from Mira and Erza" stated Dante with a confidant smile. After Dante said this, he channeled his magical energy and then fired an attack towards Jura as he continued to speak.

"Holy Flame, Cleansing Tower Inferno" yelled Dante as he shot a ball of white hot energy towards Jura. The ball quickly burst into a towering inferno of white holy flame that burned away the surrounding area Jura was standing in. The air surrounding the area became hot as Dante's flames burned brightly. Suddenly Jura burst through the flames and crashed his fist into Dante, sending him flying some distance backwards.

"That was an impressive attack, luckily my defense was a match for it" stated Jura with a confident smile. Dante internally swore as he looked at Jura, he was telling the truth. Jura didn't have a scratch on him from that attack, but all hope wasn't lost. While Jura didn't have any injuries, Dante noticed that Jura was appearing to become tired. It seemed that while Jura's defense was a match for Dante's offense, it was draining him doing so.

"There is far more where that came from" responded Dante before he flew towards Jura. Slashing away at Jura, Dante sliced every barrier of stone that Jura created with his earth magic. For serval moments Dante endeavored to slice away Jura's defense, he hoped that he would win in a battle of endurance. After serval minutes, Jura changed things up and instead of erecting another stone barrier to block Dante's path, he sent serval stone pillars flying towards him.

"Finally decided to go on the offensive" asked Dante as he hovered in the air and channeled his magical power. Releasing a large amount of magical power all at once, Dante continued to speak while the stone pillars rushed towards him.

"Burning Radiance of Heaven" yelled Dante as a sphere of light erupted from his entire body and expanded some distance outwards. This attack functioned like his Heaven's Blinding Light spell but with one key difference. This attack that he could only do in his Archangel form not only cast a blinding light, but the blinding light was supercharged with divine flames that burned anything that it touched. The blinding light forced Jura to close his eyes as his stone pillars were turned to ash. Dante landed on the ground, breathing heavily since this attack took a lot of magical energy.

"My my what an impressive attack. It functions as a great offense and defense" responded Jura after he was able to see again. Dante smiled back at Jura as he continued to breathe heavily, Jura also looked tired and exhausted by this point.

"Thanks, unfortunately it requires a lot of magical energy as you can see. I don't like using it unless I have to" responded Dante thinking that this fight was going to end soon. Both of them were showing signs of exhaustion, someone was going to run out of steam soon at this rate.

"Yes, I can see that attack used almost all of your remaining energy" responded Jura with a confidant smile between deep breathes. Smiling back at Jura, Dante started to speak.

"You look tired yourself. Your defense might be almost impeccable, but it takes a lot out of you to keep me away" responded Dante.

"Very perceptive of you. You are by far the strongest wizard I have faced, never before has my defense been tested to this extent" responded Jura with a smile.

"I'm flattered but how about we stop talking and finish this battle? I have a feeling that one of us will fall soon" stated Dante with a confidant smile as he took a battle stance. Nodding his head, Jura started to speak.

"Yes, let's end this fight Dante" responded Jura with an air of respect for Dante in his voice. The two Wizard Saints stared at each other for a short while before the battle resumed.

Dante leaped towards Jura using his wings to fly at top speed. Jura, not having enough magical power to defend from Dante's offense, he took the strong punch that Dante delivered to him before responding with his own. The ground shook as the two wizards were both hit by a strong punch. Using his wings to fly into the air just above Jura, Dante yelled out as he fired his attack.

"Ray of Heaven" yelled Dante as a holy beam shot out from his hand. Since he was using this attack in his Archangel form, it was much stronger than usual. Jura jumped out of the way just in time and channeled his own magical power.

Multiple stone pillars erupted from the ground, flying towards Dante. Dante was too tired to dodge the attack, instead he decided to leave it all in his next counterattack. Channeling the remainder of his magical power, Dante focused the power into the Sword of David. Pointing the Sword of David towards Jura and the incoming stone pillars, Dante yelled as he fired his final attack.

"Wrath of Heaven" yelled Dante as an all-consuming blast erupted from his sword, flying towards Jura. Jura had to close his eyes as the blinding light rocketed towards him, even from a distance away he could feel the immense magical power. The attack crashed into the stone pillars, which shattered easily under the immense magical power. Seeing that his attack had been overpowered, Jura smiled as he accepted his fate. A loud crashing sound echoed across a large portion of the city as Dante's attack collied with Jura.

"That power, it must be master" stated Erza a far distance away as she noticed the ground shaking and a large explosion of holy energy in the horizon.

"Did I get him" asked Dante out loud to himself as he landed and reverted back to his original form since he was out of magical energy. As Dante was breathing heavily, the smoke cloud cleared, and Dante's eyes widened in surprise. Still standing in the middle of smocking crater was Jura with a smile on his face.

"Damn, how strong are you" asked Dante in a worried tone. He had just thrown everything he had at Jura, and he was still standing. As Jura started to speak, Dante struggled to fall into a battle stance, he would have to fight back without his take over magic.

"Well done" stated Jura in a proud tone before he fell over on his side. Dante took a moment to properly register what had happened before he pumped his fist into the air and yelled in victory while the announcer cheered over the loudspeakers.

"Incredible! The Wizard Saint Jura has been defeated! The Wizard Saint Dante is the winner! With that Lamia Scale is out of the competition and Fairy Tail gains five points" yelled the announcer as Dante smiled with victory.

The crowd back at the arena was going wild as the Fairy Tail members cheered for Dante. After a short while Dante decided he should regroup with the others that finished their matches. He hoped they all succeeded in their own fights because Dante was completely wiped and didn't know how much of a help he could be at this point. Struggling as he did so, Dante limped through the streets, looking for his teammates.
