Chapter 193: The Wizard Saint Warrod
"Are we there yet" asked Natsu in an annoyed tone. Dante sighed with exhaustion as he started to speak.
"Natsu if you ask that again I'm going to get angry. We will get there when we get there" responded Dante in an annoyed tone since Natsu had already asked the same question over ten times by now.
"You really need to learn to be more patient" stated Gray to Natsu. Natsu turned his attention towards Gray as he started to speak.
"What was that Ice Prick? You wanna go" shouted Natsu.
"Maybe I do flame brain" yelled Gray as he took a combat stance. Sighing with annoyance, Dante started to speak.
"Cut it out you two or else Erza will get involved" responded Dante in a threatening tone. Hearing these words, Natsu and Gray stopped in their tracks and turned their attention towards Erza. All it took was a single intimidating glance from Erza to correct their behavior.
"Cut what out? Gray and I were just kidding around" responded Natsu in a nervous tone. Gray nodded his head as he started to speak.
"Yah I would never fight with my good friend Natsu" responded Gray as he and Natsu pretended to get along so Erza would not get involved. Dante took a moment to curse Markov for leaving him in charge of controlling Natsu and Gray before he started to speak.
"Just make sure you two behave, we will be meeting the client soon" responded Dante in a tired tone. The job hadn't even begun yet and already Natsu and Gray were tiring him out. Team Natsu continued to walk towards their destination until they arrived at a scheduled house in the forest.
"This must be the place" stated Dante as he looked around. This was the only house around for miles and it appeared to match the description given to him in the job request. Walking up to the front door, Dante knocked on the door as he continued to speak.
"This is Dante Strauss. We are the Fairy Tail team that accepted your job request" stated Dante as he knocked on the front door. After a short wait the front door opened, and the entirety of Team Natsu reacted with shock. Standing in front of them was a man who looked more like a tree than a man. The tree man smiled at them as he started to speak.
"It's a pleasure to meet a fellow Wizard Saint. I'm Warrod Sequen, nice to meet you" responded Warrod in a cheerful tone as he extended a hand towards Dante. Smiling back at Warrod, Dante shook his hand as he started to speak.
"Likewise, I was curious who you were since you never show up at the Wizard Saint meetings" responded Dante with a smile. Warrod smiled back at Dante as he motioned for them to walk inside his home. Stepping inside Warrod's home, Team Natsu looked around to see the house filled with all sorts of plants. Smiling from ear to ear Warrod started to water a nearby bush as he started to respond to Dante.
"I can't be bothered with those meetings anymore. All they do is beat around the bush" responded Warrod before he broke into laughter. A moment of silence followed as Team Natsu didn't get the joke, expect Dante who started to laugh along with Warrod. Seeing a positive reaction towards his attempt at humor, Warrod turned his attention towards Dante and continued to speak.
"You liked that one did you? I'm glad to see Markov instilled in you a great sense of humor" responded Warrod with a wide smile. Dante was still laughing as he started to speak.
"Haha yah that was a good one, beating around the bush" responded Dante as he continued laughing. While Dante was finishing laughing, Erza started to speak.
"I'm sorry to interrupt but I'm curious about what sort of job you have for us. Why did you request Natsu and Gray by name" asked Erza in a curious tone. Warrod smiled as he turned his attention towards Erza and started to speak.
"Of course, I'm sorry for getting off track. I must be honest, the job I have for you is a thorny one" responded Warrod with a wide smile as he motioned towards a rose bush. Again, Dante laughed at the terrible plant pun as he started to speak.
"Haha thorny issue, good one" responded Dante as he laughed. Erza turned her attention towards her master, giving him a stern look. Dante stopped laughing when Erza gave him her serious look. While usually Dante was in charge of Erza, he certainly didn't want to test her when she was this serious.
"Sorry, please continue" stated Dante.
"I spend most of my time foresting areas of the world that are devoid of life. This hobby takes me far and wide and during my travels I came across a strange village. Tell me have any of you heard of the Sun Village" asked Warrod in a serious tone showing that he was getting to the reason he put out the job request. Dante and the others had a look of confusion on their faces as Dante started to speak.
"I've never heard of the place, have you Erza" asked Dante as he turned his attention towards Erza.
"No, I haven't" responded Erza as she shook her head. Just as Dante was about to ask Warrod what the Sun Village was, he noticed a worried expression from Flare as she started to speak.
"I have, I was raised there" responded Flare in a worried tone. Dante and the others had a look of surprise at Flare's words as Warrod started to speak.
"Is that so? I find that surprising considering you aren't a giant" responded Warrod in a shocked tone. Letting out a shocked gasp, Dante started to speak.
"What do you mean? Flare what sort of place is this Sun Village" asked Dante in a curious tone.
"The Sun Village is the home to a race of Giants. When I was a little girl and all alone I was found by them. They all took me in and raised my as one of their own" responded Flare in a steady tone.
"Why did you leave then Flare" asked Lucy in a curious tone, wondering what would lead Flare to then join Raven Tail. Flare looked sad as she started to speak.
"I left because I never felt like I belonged there. I was the only human in the entire village, I wanted to find a place where I could belong among my own people. That's when I meet Ivan" responded Flare in a sad tone. Dante took Flare's hand in his own, giving it an affectionate squeeze as he started to speak.
"Don't worry about it Flare, that's all in the past. What matters now is you are here with us" responded Dante showing her that no one cared about her past with Raven Tail. Flare gave her master an appreciative smile as she started to speak.
"Thank you master that means a lot" responded Flare with a smile. Just as Flare was about to lean forward to kiss Dante, Warrod cleared his throat to gather their attention towards him.
"As I was saying. I came across the Sun Village during my travels and I saw the strangest thing" stated Warrod in a serious tone. Flare had a worried look on her face as she started to speak.
"What do you mean? Was something wrong" asked Flare in a worried tone. Warrod nodded his head as he started to speak.
"Yes, when I walked through the Sun Village I found that every single resident was frozen solid" responded Warrod, making Flare's eyes widened with shock and worry as she started to speak.
"W-what?! How is that possible? What about the eternal flame" asked Flare in a worried tone. Warrod gave her a sad look as he started to speak.
"Even the eternal flame was encased in solid ice" responded Warrod in a serious tone. Flare had a sad look on her face as Dante started to speak.
"Hold on what's the eternal flame" asked Dante in a cuprous tone as he turned his attention towards Flare.
"The eternal flame in the sacred treasure of the Sun Village. It is a flame that has never gone out, it burns forever. For it to be encased in ice, it's impossible" responded Flare in a worried tone as she worried for the giants wellbeing.
"That is precisely why I requested this job. No matter what I tried to do, my magic was useless in trying to thaw out the eternal flame or any of the frozen giants" responded Warrod in a serious tone.
"Is that why you requested Natsu and Gray" asked Dante in a curious tone. Warrod nodded his head as he started to speak.
"Yes, I had the idea that if anyone could thaw out this strange ice then it would be an ice make wizard or a fire dragon slayer" responded Warrod. Natsu smiled eagerly, excited for this latest challenge.
"Oh yah I'm fired up now" yelled Natsu in an eager tone. Dante smiled at Natsu as he started to speak.
"So our job then is to find a way to thaw out this eternal flame and the giants" asked Dante in a curious tone. Nodding his head, Warrod started to speak.
"Yes, that and to find out who or what caused such a thing to happen in the first place" responded Warrod. Natsu pumped his fist in the air as he started to speak.
"Oh yah! Come on let's go" yelled Natsu in an eager tone as he started to race out of Warrod's home before Dante grabbed him by the back of scarf. Holding Natsu back, Dante started to speak.
"Hold on Natsu, do you even know where the Sun Village is" asked Dante in a tired tone. Hearing these words Natsu stopped struggling as he started to speak.
"Uh no" responded Natsu making everyone sigh with annoyance. Flare seemed sad as she started to speak.
"It's far from here, very far" responded Flare in a sad tone. Seeing her sad expression Dante turned to face her as he started to speak.
"Hey Flare don't worry, I promise I am going to do everything in my power to save your village" responded Dante in a loving and warm tone. The rest of Team Natsu nodded their heads in agreement.
"That's right, we will save them Flare" responded Lucy with a smile.
"Yah, we always look out for each other in Fairy Tail" stated Wendy in a happy tone. Flare felt tears well up in her eyes as she heard similar statements from the rest of Team Natsu. Looking at her master, Flare started to speak.
"T-thank you" responded Flare glad to have finally found a place where she belonged. Overcome with emotion Flare embraced her master and placed a loving and passionate kiss on his lips. Dante smiled into the kiss as he returned it, pulling Flare close to him as he deepened the kiss. After a short while Dante leaned back from Flare's sweet lips as he started to speak.
"You're part of Fairy Tail Flare, that means you will always have help and support" responded Dante in a warm tone. As Flare smiled back as she stared into her master's eyes, Gray started to speak.
"So how long of a journey are we looking at to get to the Sun Village from here" asked Gray. Flare turned her attention towards Gray as she started to speak.
"From here, about a month" responded Flare to the shock of the rest of Team Natsu.
"A WHOLE MONTH" yelled Natsu in a shocked tone. Suddenly Warrod started to laugh before he started to speak.
"Normally that would be the case but with my magic I can transport all of you there in an instant" stated Warrod with a smile. Dante and the others turned their attention towards Warrod as Dante started to speak.
"Wow really, that is something you can do" asked Dante in a surprised tone. Thinking to himself this must be one of the reasons why Warrod is one of the four Gods of Ishgar as Warrod nodded his head and started to respond.
"Yes, if you all follow me outside I can transport you all at once" responded Warrod in a happy tone as he led Dante and the others outside. Soon Dante and the others were standing in the middle of a small clearing as Warrod stood off to the side.
"So how exactly are you going to transport us" asked Dante in a curious tone. Warrod simply laughed in response as he activated his magic. Suddenly a giant vine appeared unearth Team Natsu's feet. The giant vine shot out into the sky, carrying Dante and the other's along for the ride.
"What the" shouted Lucy as the giant vine stretched out over miles and miles. Dante and the others gripped tightly into the vine as it sped quickly across the land.
"Hold on everyone" yelled Dante as the wind crashed into his face with the high speed they were moving at. So this was the power of a God of Ishgar Dante thought. This sort of power was insane Dante thought as the team was quickly transported serval hundred miles. Soon they would be at the Sun Village and their job would begin.
