"Hey, Julia thought of a song," Castle said, stepping up to the doorway in time to meet his wife. "Though I'm not sure why there's a problem," he said while they walked back out together before the investigator was talking to him in mock annoyance.
"I'll tell you in a second," Skye said. She then turned to Julia and said, "Why?"
"I thought of it," the teen said. When the investigator kept looking at her, Julia pursed her lips and then said, "I thought of it, and I asked Freddie."
"And you want to hear that?" Skye asked, looking to the side of the room.
"Is she-" Castle started to say from where he and his wife were sitting on the couch the others had left for them.
"He does," Skye said, shaking her head.
"We're a little out of the loop here grá," Mary told her wife.
"I suggested Scandal," Julia said as soon as the investigator looked at her.
"Really," Mary said in surprise.
"What's the big deal about this song?" David asked.
"Brian wrote it, but the group isn't very happy with it or the video," Skye explained. "I was surprised he was okay with it." She turned to Julia again and asked, "You heard?"
"Yeah," the teen said with a laugh. "He wants to hear her and Mary singing it," Julia told everyone else before she glanced at the doctor.
"I know, if Freddy mentioned me, I'll sing too," Mary said. "But only backup," she told her wife firmly, unable to help smiling as Skye sighed in feigned suffering before she spoke.
"Fine, but we'll sing a duet at some point," the investigator said, watching her wife getting the music ready.
"I don't remember this part," Beckett said to her friend while they were listening to the opening music.
"It's the eighties," Skye said with a smile before the word scandal was being sung repeatedly. It took a little more for where the first verse was going to be, but she didn't mind the wait when Ivy moved to sit on her lap. "I'll hurt your ears," she told her daughter.
"No," was all Ivy had time to say when her mother began singing to her wide smile of joy.
Scandal
Now you've left me
All the world's gonna know
Hey, scandal
They're gonna turn our lives
Into a freak show
They'll see the heartache
They'll see the love break
They'll hear me pleading
We'll say for God sakes
Over and over and over again
Scandal
Now you've left me
There's no healing the wounds
Hey, scandal
And all the world
Can make us out to be fools
"Why didn't they like this song?" Castle asked his wife. He wasn't surprised when she shrugged before Josie on her lap looked up at them and spoke.
"Sweet Dada?" the toddler told him.
"You are," Castle said, trying not to laugh when she immediately frowned. "Listen to the music," he told her quickly, feeling his wife grab his arm and knowing she was laughing before they turned their attention back to Skye and Mary.
Here come the bad news
Open the flood gates
They'll leave us bleeding
We say "you cheapskates!"
Over and over and over again
So let them know when they stare
It's just a private affair
They'll have us hung in the air
And tell me what do they care
It's only a life to be
Twisted and broken
They'll see the heartache
They'll see our love break, yeah
They'll hear me pleading
I'll say for God sakes
Over and over and over
And over again, yeah
Shaking her head at her wife while they let the guitar solo play, Skye looked down at Ivy and said, "You're alright," not surprised when she was immediately answering.
"Yes, my ears are fine," the girl said with a smile.
"Good," Skye said. "We have to sing again but pay attention; this is where your mom sings with me," she added, smiling while Ivy was giggling, and Mary rolled her eyes before they sang together.
(Scandal) (Scandal)
(Scandal) (Scandal)
Yes, you're breaking my heart again
(Scandal) Yes, you're loving
On out again
Today: the headlines
Tomorrow: hard times
And no one ever really knows
The truth from the lies
And in the end the story
Deeper must hide
Deeper and deeper and deeper inside
Allowing the song to end with the word scandal repeatedly again, Mary turned it off and laughed when the others applauded though she and her wife were shortly after thanking them. She watched in surprise when shortly after Eliza jumped up and walked over to her father.
"You're tired I think," Castle said, wrapping his arm around her when she snaked hers around his neck and responded to him quickly.
"Not tired," Eliza said firmly. "Dessert."
Castle laughed and hugged her tightly before kissing her cheek and saying, "I guess we need to get it."
"What is it and I'm taking care of it," Lily said.
"It's over here," Castle said, smiling still at the chef's tone and standing up.
"Seriously, what do you have?" David asked.
"It's a saskatoon berry pie," Beckett answered since her husband was busy getting it out from its box. "Since everyone liked the berries the other day."
"It does look good," Lily commented from the table. She took the cutter Castle handed her before she waited for him to have the plates ready. "Come and get your slices," she called to the others.
"I can't wait to try that," Mari told her friend.
"Me neither, let's hurry," Julia said before they were laughing together and joining the others to line up for their dessert.
"I have everything set," Mari told her friend while she walked into the bedroom.
"Good and it's about time," Julia said, laughing when her friend glared at her. "I know you're not serious," she said while Mari walked around to her side of the bed.
"And I know you aren't either," the girl said, smiling at her. Mari then recalled something and asked, "What about your diary?"
"I wrote while you were finishing up," Julia answered. She got her diary which was still on the nightstand, opening it up to where she'd written last.
"Wait!" Mari said in surprise. "Are you going to read to me?"
"Yeah," Julia replied in surprise. "Believe me, it's nothing I don't mind sharing." She watched her friend thinking that over for a moment before she was nodding and then began to read. "June sixteenth, twenty twenty-two. I'm going to be super quick Evangeline. Today was great. Vancouver Island was amazing, the gardens were beautiful and we're on our way to Seattle tomorrow. So I'm out of here to pack and talk with Mari before we go to bed." She closed her diary, smiling when her friend laughed before she was talking about the end of her entry.
"You planned that," Mari said.
"Not really, I looked at the clock and saw there was time," Julia said.
"Then what do you want to talk about?" Mari asked.
"There's something really fishy," Julia responded. She couldn't help smiling when her friend looked completely confused and told her, "About the hotel in Seattle. I asked if we'd have a room and they said yes but they got these weird smiles."
"You mean your parents?" Mari said. At her friend's nod she sighed before she said, "I don't think we're going to really be able to get much out of them."
"We?" Julia pointed out to her in amusement.
"Well, if it's going to be our room," Mari commented before she laughed when Julia playfully hit her arm with her pillow. "Pillow fight?" she asked.
"Not with my parents probably listening," Julia said before she put her pillow back and leaned on her hands. "But I really wonder what's the story," she told her.
"Now I'm wondering too," Mari said. She brought her knees up and wrapped her arms around them saying, "What was your favorite part?"
"Of today?" Julia asked.
"No, the city," Mari quickly corrected her.
"Oh… that's tough," Julia said, hesitating at first.
"I know, I was thinking of that, and it might have to be the park," Mari said.
"Me too," Julia said after thinking that over for a moment. She shared a smile with her friend before she said, "Though everything was great."
"Yeah, after that's the gardens from today," Mari said, laughing when her friend was nodding rapidly.
"The outdoor stuff then," Julia said. When Mari nodded in agreement she then said, "Two days."
"Stop," Mari told her though she was laughing shortly after. "But I'm still young."
"You're another year closer to thirteen," Julia said. She was surprised when Mari looked down at her chest and said, "It's still a while."
"I noticed," Mari said wryly. She sighed and then said, "But at least I am getting older."
"I thought the same," Julia said. "But remember you don't get anything special when you turn thirteen."
"What about when you're fourteen?" Mari asked before she and Julia were laughing together.
Just before they calmed down, Julia paused when she heard the sound of a knock on the door and sighed. "Come in Mom," she said, startled when her father did instead.
"Don't assume," Castle said to the expression on the teen's face.
"You're going straight to bed?" Julia asked then when both her parents were in the room, and she saw they were wearing their pajamas and summer robes.
"We kind of need to," Beckett said, glancing at her husband. "Did you two get everything ready?"
"Yep, everything we don't need for tomorrow," Mari said with a smile.
"You know… if you told us about the hotel we could know-" Julia began.
"You'll find out tomorrow," Castle said firmly. "Both of you," he added before his wife was slapping his arm lightly with the back of her hand.
"I don't think you were supposed to say that Dad," Julia said, smiling at their interaction.
"No, but it doesn't give anything away luckily," Castle said before Beckett was placing her hand on his chest. Studying her expression, he turned quickly to the girls and said, "I think you two need to go to bed."
"Don't groan," Beckett said. "You do want to move on to the next place, don't you?"
"Sort of," Mari said when she and Julia were sharing a look.
"We liked it here so much," Julia told her parents before her father was speaking rapidly to her surprise.
"We did tell you we'd come back," Castle said.
Smiling at her father, Julia said, "I know, but it's hard to leave already." Her father was about to speak, and she quickly stopped him by telling him, "But I do want to see the other places too. At least you told us that."
"Smart aleck," Castle said in amusement. "And we couldn't really keep you from knowing where we were going to go next."
"But for now…" Beckett said.
Getting off the bed, Julia told her parents, "You wouldn't believe me if I groaned again."
"Not that," Beckett said, watching the teen go to Castle first. "More we already know how you feel."
Julia couldn't help smiling at her mother before she turned her attention to her father. "I love you Dad," she said.
"I love you too," Castle answered while they were embracing tightly. After parting he told her, "We have to be on time tomorrow."
"Don't worry," Julia told him. "We won't stay up talking for too long."
"I'm tired," Mari said when her friend glanced at her.
"We both are," Julia said before turning back to her father. She kissed his cheek after he'd done the same to her and she said, "Night."
"Goodnight sweetheart," Castle said with a smile, watching her go to Beckett.
After they'd kissed each other's cheeks Julia said, "I love you too Mom, thanks for the pie."
Beckett laughed softly and said, "I love you. But you know when your dad said it was Saskatoon berry, I was fine with it."
"Good, that was a great pie," Mari said.
"Night you two," Beckett told them with a smile. "We'll leave the door open."
Nodding briefly, Julia hugged her mother quickly before she hurried to the bed and got in. They turned off the lights before they were laying down and she murmured, "Anything to talk about now?"
Trying to muffle her laughter the best she could, Mari eventually was able to say, "And get into trouble? No way."
"Then goodnight," Julia said.
"Night Julia," Marie replied with a smile before she closed her eyes.
Though she was eager for the next day and to see Seattle, Julia was doing the same shortly after her friend. She thought about the gardens while she was falling asleep, finding her dreams had her among the flowers and trees chasing her crush in her laughter.
"There's something beautiful about you doing that."
"I'm folding my clothes love," Beckett said in amusement.
"Still," Castle replied firmly. He then said, "I'm still wondering why exactly we're in our pajamas," startled she was responding almost before he'd finished speaking.
"It won't be that hard to take them off," Beckett said. She wasn't surprised when her husband was looking at her in amazement and a little confusion before she said, "I'm serious."
Standing up immediately Castle said, "I'm going to hold you to that." When her response was to merely smirk at him, he groaned and reached for her, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her deeply. He wasn't surprised when she began to respond to him immediately and they were clutching at each other until they needed to part to breathe. "What are you going to do with your pajamas now?" he asked her.
"Pervert," Beckett said with a smile.
"You-" Castle started to say when she covered his mouth with her hand.
"I wanted to tease you," Beckett told him. When his eyes widened, she was smiling again and her husband was grabbing for her, pulling her tighter against him though she was already pressed against his front. They kissed again, deeply, and while they were doing that, she slid her fingers through his hair and gently raked her nails against his scalp. Feeling her husband shuddering, she slid one of her hands down and gently gripped at the back of his shoulder before he was pulling away from her carefully.
"Vixen," Castle told her roughly. Before she could respond he was leaning down slightly and kissing her lovingly though it didn't take him that long before he was deepening it. After he'd been kissing her a while he moved to her neck and kissed at it, lightly tonguing her pulse before he moved to stand up fully. "You're going to undress for me," he told her firmly.
"Of course," Beckett said. She felt a slight thrill at the fact that her husband was letting her go without a response to what she'd said. Once he was sitting on her side of the bed, she followed him and standing in front of him started with her robe. After she had taken it off, she handed it to Castle who was tossing it over to her nightstand. With that out of the way it didn't take her long to remove her shirt and pants, leaving them on the floor. Stepping up to her husband, she wrapped her arms around him while he was doing the same to her and they kissed sensuously. While they parted slowly, she murmured, "Help me now."
With a swift nod, Castle was assisting her with her panties before she was naked and making him stand up. "You don't need to help me," he told her. He wasn't surprised when she brushed her lips against his before she moved to sit on the middle of the bed. While she was leaning against the pillows and headboard he undressed quickly before he climbed up to the mattress and stopped before he reached her. "We've been talking about leaving early tomorrow," he told her when she moved to reach for him.
"We have, but it's still early for us," Beckett replied in amusement. After he kissed her, she said, "And you have an idea?"
"I just want to feel you," Castle said firmly before they were kissing deeply. While they were he gently laid his wife down before he was pulling away to allow her to part her legs. Kissing her shortly after he didn't let that last for long before he was moving to do the same to her breasts. After he'd pressed a few kisses to her he moved back to her lips and murmured against them, "Let me pleasure you."
Shaking her head Beckett told him, "I want to feel you fuck me."
Pausing for a moment, Castle told her, "You're sure."
"Very," Beckett said insistently. She expected her husband to respond to that verbally when he instead leaned down to her. Responding to his kiss fervently, she wrapped her arms and legs around him before he was moving down on her. Watching him kissing at her breasts again she stopped him after he'd gone over both before telling him, "If you don't want to-" until he interrupted her.
"I do, but I didn't want to get straight to it," Castle explained. "Seriously," he told her when she was smirking.
"I believe you," Beckett replied. She rubbed his arm gently and told him, "Just don't take that long."
"I won't," Castle replied with a brief nod. He leaned down to her and gently brushed his lips to hers before he was kissing around her body. Going to her breasts first he wasn't there for very long before he went lower, kissing around her stomach until he was at her sex. Kissing her folds first he allowed his tongue to gently delve inside of her before he was moving to kiss her clit. He pushed himself up and told her, "Who's deciding how we'll be?"
"You will," Beckett replied simply. She took her husband's kiss before they were holding onto each other tightly. After they'd parted, she helped her husband at his insistence before he was sliding inside of her. She was gasping, startled at how slowly he was going but enjoying the sensation before his hips were pressed to hers. She was afraid he was going to take a little longer to start before he was beginning to thrust. She cried out in joy and did her best to begin moving with him while she held onto him tightly.
Kissing his wife as much as possible, Castle did the best he could to angle his hips down against Beckett since he wanted to stimulate her in that way. Her faltering in her movements and her gasps let him know he was managing that which led him to attempt to speed up. Though he wasn't able to do so that much he was able to pleasure his wife since they were reaching their orgasms, close to each other, and calling out each other's names. Breathing roughly, he could hear her doing the same before he said, "Please tell me it's still early."
"I don't have my watch on," Beckett said in amusement. She laughed when her husband grunted in annoyance before he was doing that again in pleasure. "Sorry," she told him, gently caressing his back.
"That's okay," Castle breathed before he looked at his watch. "Still early," he said, moving to kiss her deeply.
Beckett responded as passionately as she could before they were parting and she said, "Take me again?"
"Anything you want," Castle said seriously before she was pressing on the back of his neck and pushing him to her.
"I love you," Beckett breathed to him once they'd parted.
"Love you too Kate," Castle said before they were kissing deeply once more. Since he was still firmly inside of her, he was able to begin thrusting in her again, starting out rapidly. He didn't stop while Beckett was holding him, arms and legs wrapped around him as they were indulging their satiety again.
"Anyone want to wave goodbye to Vancouver?" Skye asked the kids.
"We did that when we came to the island," Marie reminded her mother.
"It was worth a shot," Skye commented before she saw her wife was rolling her eyes.
Watching the city across the water from Vancouver Island, Beckett glanced at her husband when he walked up to her. "Can I help you?" she asked him with a slight smile.
"I have to to be able to stand here?" Castle replied with his own question. When she caressed his cheek he said, "We couldn't bring Josie here," not surprised when she immediately laughed before responding.
"Not in this wind," Beckett said.
"Just for a little," Castle said.
"Let's wait and see," Beckett replied.
"Gr- wait, you just caved in," Castle said, startled. When his wife was smirking at him very obviously, he let out a fake growl and told her, "Not funny."
"I thought it was," Beckett said easily. She let out a fake cry of surprise at him grabbing her and kissing at her neck through her hair. "Okay, okay," she said when she felt he was slowing down. "I couldn't help it, but I want it to be a little warmer," she then explained to him.
"Good idea," Castle said, nodding rapidly. They shared a brief kiss before turning back to the waters of the Salish Sea and he said, "Also a good idea."
"I told you the ferry was," Skye said, walking by with Ivy and Fleur.
"You shouldn't gloat," Castle told her. He wasn't surprised when the investigator playfully stuck her tongue out and he laughed briefly before he turned to their daughters. "I feel like checking on Alexis," he confessed to his wife since she was inside the ship.
"Don't," Beckett said. "She said she was okay, and I trust her."
"So do I," Castle said slowly. He sighed and then said, "Well, I think I can be grateful the trip is smooth."
"I think we all are," Beckett reminded him. "I didn't want to be seasick."
"I thought you said we could have flown," Darnley commented, walking up to them with Keo on his hip.
"Yeah, but Skye was right about this being more scenic," Castle told him.
"Which is why I voted for the ferries when we talked about them," Darnley said. "Though I'm surprised at you."
"Me? Why?" Castle asked in surprise and then confusion.
"You didn't think of us staying on the island for a night," Darnley said.
"I can explain that," Skye said, having been walking by again. "He mentioned coming back and I thought they could save it for their next trip. Or our trip. No idea if we'll all be together or not but I get the feeling we will be."
"Most likely," Darnley said before they walked away.
Beckett shared a smile with her husband before they were looking at the water again. She turned to him when he eventually touched her back before he was speaking about Seattle in a low tone of voice.
"I have always wanted to come here," Castle said.
"You've told me," Beckett replied. "I'm assuming for the coffee."
"Partially, from what I've seen of it I think it'll be a great city," Castle said. "I mean to visit," he said after frowning at what he'd said. "Though I'm sure it's great-"
"Easy," Beckett said in amusement, placing her hand on his arm to stop him. "I got what you meant."
"Good," Castle said. He knew she was looking at him and he laughed before he turned to her and said, "I'm excited."
"Of course you are," Beckett replied knowingly. "Though I'm a little more for the hot-" She was startled when her husband grabbed her hand and looked at him in confusion before turning to where he gestured with his head. "Eliza," she said.
"I was just going to ask about lunch," the little girl said in protest.
"It is time," Castle said, looking at his watch. He smiled and grabbed Eliza before he took her over to the inside of the ship. Making their way to their seats he let Eliza go ahead of him to the seats where her grandparents were sitting with Josie. "Are you two doing alright?" he asked them.
"Luckily it's a calm day," Jim said, handing his son in law the bag with their lunch. "I had a feeling," he said in response to Castle's surprised expression. He then looked at Eliza, leaning against him, and asked, "You're hungry."
"A lot, we're on the ocean Grandpapa!" Eliza said. She smiled when he chuckled before hugging her and she kissed his cheek. "I'm so excited to go to Seattle. Did you ever get to go?"
"No, I think only Skye has," Jim said, glancing at his daughter who was responding swiftly.
"She has, a few times," Beckett said.
"What?" Skye herself said in obvious surprise when she saw the Castles were looking at her.
"We were talking about all of us and Seattle," Castle answered. "Who's gone."
"Trevor hasn't?" Alexis asked the investigator.
"Hasn't what?" Nkosi asked in obvious confusion.
"Been to Seattle," Darnley told his husband since he'd heard what the group was talking about.
"Oh, of course," Nkosi said. "Just once though."
When nothing else was said Eliza said slowly, "For vacation?"
"It was for work," Nkosi said, looking a little pleadingly at his fellow investigator.
"I remember," Skye said with a nod before looking at the others. "It was for an investigation we both worked on in the end."
"She's right," Nkosi said firmly. "It doesn't matter at all."
"Let's eat lunch," Beckett said, able to tell from the two investigators that they didn't want the kids to hear about it. She focused on passing out the sandwiches they'd gotten from the hotel in Vancouver before she was sitting next to her husband and Josie. As they ate, she was smiling at the way the toddler's eyes kept turning to the water in front of them and reminded herself to take Josie with them when they went back outside to watch their approach to Seattle.
"There she is," Mary said, spotting the skyline with the familiar Space Needle.
"Puts me in mind of a little riff," Skye suddenly said after everyone was quiet and admiring what they were approaching. "Come as you are, to my atrium yeah, yeah," she sang. She laughed when Brad and then Castle started to do so, seeing their wives were smiling and rolling their eyes.
"What is that from?" Bethany asked in confusion.
"From…" Skye started to say, looking at her wife and then Brad who ended up responding.
"Overdrawn at the Memory Bank," the chief said with a smile. "Horrible movie but Raul Julia was in it. But Mystery Science Theater riffed it and that was a riff when there was an atrium with 'Nirvana' on the floor."
"No disrespect to Kurt Cobain of course," Skye said. "That scene just came to me for some reason." There was some silence and she then playfully pointed to her daughters saying, "Don't ask me to sing that song," not surprised the youngest were sharing confused expressions before Marie was speaking.
"It's a grunge song, Mum thinks she can't really sing those that well," the girl said.
"I can't," Skye said. "But we're nearly there at least."
"Great job changing the subject," Beckett told her friend.
"Be quiet," Skye said teasingly before her friend was rolling her eyes.
"Mama," Josie said, watching her mother smiling at the investigator. When she saw her parents were looking at her she said, "Where?"
"It's Seattle," Beckett told her with a smile before she kissed her temple. "Where we're going to be for the next few days."
"I see?" Josie asked.
"Of course," Castle said. "We will very soon too," he added, noticing they were nearing the pier where they'd disembark. "Here we go," he told his wife.
"You make it sound so ominous," Beckett replied, smiling at him.
"Well, I try," Castle said, raising and lowering his eyebrows. Smiling when she laughed, he leaned over to kiss her gently before they parted and watched the city drawing closer. When they were stopped, he helped his wife get their middle daughters before they were off the ferry.
"How many cabs do we need?" David asked Castle.
"None," he replied. He smiled at everyone's obvious surprise, though he soon after noticed Skye and Mary weren't. "You know?" he asked them in Irish.
"Natch," the investigator said first.
"What are you talking about?" Martha asked in amusement.
"You'll see," Castle replied. "Is everyone okay with their luggage?"
"I hope it's not that far," Darnley said.
"It won't be," Castle assured them. He led the way to the street a worker had told him was Alaska Way and headed south. He was soon smiling when he spotted the hotel and told everyone, "We're here."
"Right here?" Julia asked.
"Yeah," Castle said before they were walking inside the lobby of the Edgewater.
Glancing around, Julia was amazed at the fireplace where the adults were checking in before she realized something. "There's no one here is there?" she asked.
"Not right now anyway," Jacob said in agreement while they went over to the tall windows by the fireplace, looking out on Elliott Bay.
"It's really nice out there."
"Definitely," Mari said in agreement.
Freezing when she realized that voice wasn't one of them or a younger kid, Julia turned and cried, "Reiley!"
Laughing when the teen hugged her briefly Reiley Willis said, "Surprise."
"Big surprise, how are you here right now?" Mari asked after she'd hugged her briefly as well.
"Ask Grandude," Bobby said.
"Bobby, hey are you all here?" Jacob said, going over and shaking his hand.
"Basically," Bobby replied, turning around. "Three… two…" he started to say in amusement before Julia was exclaiming in joy.
"Paul!" the teen said, rushing to him. After she had embraced him tightly, she said, "I almost forgot you were going to be here… but I didn't think you'd be at our hotel."
"Thank your father," Paul replied with a smile. He then greeted the other kids, taking Josie when she raised her hands to him. "You know every time I see you, you're much taller," he told her.
"Me?" Josie asked.
"Exactly," Paul said with a smile, laughing when the toddler hugged him around the neck.
"I'm glad you surprised them," Castle said, walking up to them with Beckett.
"Me too," Eliza said with a smile. "But who are you?" she asked a young man standing next to Stella and Alasdhair.
"This is Miller, our oldest," the designer said. "We managed to make it."
"But for now, you lot are heading to your rooms," Paul said, setting Josie down when she wriggled a little. He then told them, "There is one thing though, we're not the only ones here."
"Everyone from the tour is staying here," Nancy said with a smile.
"Are we taking up the whole hotel?" Eve asked.
"Yes, but it's not just our tour," Paul said. "Someone else is here, no clue what their names are."
Turning to follow his gaze, Beckett looked at her husband in shock before he was shaking his head rapidly.
"Hey, this is our hotel," Rodger Taylor said while he approached with Adam Lambert.
"What are you going here? Get out!" Skye said in playful annoyance, heading to the two.
"Is Brian here?" Julia asked after they'd greeted the two men.
"He headed out to lunch with Anita," Rodger explained. "We're here though and we're off before we move to Las Vegas."
"When is that?" Beckett asked.
"Soon," Adam said. When he heard a snort from Skye he laughed and told them, "Sunday, we performed last weekend and we're moving on to get ready for the next venue."
"Are you joining us tomorrow?" Skye asked.
"If that's alright," Adam said, turning at the same time his bandmate did.
"You… you know already?" Mari started to say before she was asking, blushing deeply.
"We were informed," Rodger said. "And I plan to go if the plans are the same."
"They are," Skye said before she laughed when the kids turned to her and demanded to know what they were going to do. She debated on suggesting to the others they say at that point before Castle was calming them down.
"We'll tell you at dinner tonight," he said.
"Is that fair for them?" Kathleen asked.
"They're joining us," Skye said. "So they'll be finding out as well."
"You didn't tell them already?" Eliza asked her father in obvious shock.
"Not yet, but you do know one place we're going to," Castle told her with a smile.
"The market?" Eliza guessed.
"Yes, and that's it until later," Castle told them.
"We shouldn't take that long to unpack," Skye was explaining. "And then we'll head out."
"We'll meet here?" Rodger asked.
"If that's alright," Skye said. When they all nodded, she turned to the others and said, "Okay, we know where our rooms are so let's split up."
"Julia," Beckett called to her.
Turning to her mother, the teen started to hurry over to her before she recalled something and rushed to Mari instead. "Hey, we're sharing a room remember?" Julia asked her friend.
"Yeah, I guess we better go," Mari said, smiling before they walked over to her friend's parents.
"We're your neighbors it turns out," Castle was telling the two girls while they were walking down a hall.
"On the first floor?" Julia said with a smile.
"Yeah, hopefully you won't mind," Castle told her.
"I don't think so," Julia said, sharing a look with her friend who soon after shrugged.
"Here," Beckett said when her husband stopped. "We're the next suite down so you know."
Nodding, Julia spotted the look her parents exchanged, and she started to ask them what was going on when her father opened the door.
"I hope you two will be very careful with your keys," Castle told them. "And remember to put the do not disturb-" he then began.
"Dad! Let us inside our room!" Julia interrupted in protest since he was remaining in the doorway.
"Alright," Castle said easily before he stepped aside.
Glancing at him in slight annoyance for doing that, Julia stepped inside before she caught a look at the décor and she was freezing in place, Mari running into her.
"Julia," the girl said in awe when she spotted the same things.
"I know," the teen replied in amazement. "This is ours?"
"It is," Beckett said.
"I don't think you'd appreciate our room versus this one," Castle added before he laughed when Julia threw herself at him and Beckett.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" she told them. "It's the perfect room," Julia said when she'd calmed down a little and let them go. Walking further inside the room she looked down at the blue, green, red and white plaid carpet and then at the different Beatles items and pictures in the suite. It was then she could see the bedroom with the Yellow Submarine animated pictures of each of the Beatles above it and said, "This is amazing."
"Definitely," Mari said in agreement before she slipped into the bathroom. "Julia, there's a picture here above the tub!" she cried before her friend was rushing inside and speaking eagerly.
"I wonder what Paul say-" Julia began to say before she stopped herself abruptly.
"What's wrong?" Beckett asked, having followed the two after her husband had set their luggage in the closet.
"Does Paul know about this suite?" Julia asked. She frowned and then said, "I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but why do they have a suite at a hotel in Seattle for the Beatles."
"They stayed here," Beckett said, urging the two back into the bedroom. She wasn't surprised when Julia whirled around to her and said, "Honestly."
"Here," Castle said, showing her a picture that had been in the living room. "Your proof."
"That's one of the windows?" Julia asked, smiling at the picture of the group hanging out of one with some fishing rods.
"It was here in this suite," Castle said. "Now obviously it's not the same as it was then but it was here where they took the picture."
"I don't care," Julia said with a smile. She looked at her friend and seeing she was frowning said slowly, "You don't like it." Sucking in a breath of air she then said, "I know tomorrow's your birthday but-"
"It's not that," Mari interrupted her quickly. "But what about Paul?"
"He didn't want to stay here," Castle said quickly since he knew what was bothering the girl. "I asked him, and he insisted it go to you Julia and then once he knew it was going to be the two of you, he included Mari."
"Has he seen it since then?" Julia asked.
"We were going to text everyone to meet us here before we head out," Castle said, looking at his wife.
"I think you need to ask them if they're okay with it love," Beckett told him in amusement.
"I don't care," Mari said swiftly.
"Me neither, actually I kinda want the other kids to get to see it," Julia said when her friend turned to her. "Hopefully they won't get jealous," she said, Mari nodding in agreement.
"I don't think they will," Beckett said. "Not when they see what this suite is exactly," she commented with a smile.
"They're going to think it's perfect for you," Mari told her friend. She wasn't surprised when Julia started to smile before she said, "It is."
"Definitely," the teen replied, looking around before she turned to her parents.
"Does that mean you want us to leave?" Castle asked.
"No, but you want to see your suite," Julia replied, smiling when her father made a face before he spoke.
"I do want to show your mom," Castle admitted. "You two are alright?" he asked, looking at both his daughter and Mari.
"We'll be fine," Julia said. "And I'll call if we have any trouble."
"Of course you will," Beckett said with a nod. She touched her husband's back and said, "We better go, the door is open, and our luggage is there."
"We'll say at least forty minutes before the others come to this suite," Castle told the two.
Nodding with her friend, Julia walked after them to the door and promised to lock it behind them before they left. As soon as they were done, she cheered and ran to her friend, throwing her arms around her tightly. "I can't believe it! Not only is it the Beatles, but it's like an apartment!"
"I thought of that too," Mari said with a giggle before they let each other go. "But we should unpack, I don't want anyone to come while I'm putting away my underclothes."
"Neither do I," Julia said before they rushed together to their suitcases.
At the same time their daughter and her friend were starting to unpack, Castle was opening the door to his and his wife's suite. "I'm going to remind you," he told her, turning to her before he pushed it all the way inside. "This is the Pacific Northwest."
"I don't think it'll be a log cabin," Beckett said. "Judging by the lobby. Let me see love."
Nodding, Castle opened the door and let her walk inside first before he was following with his suitcases. After he had the door closed, he stepped up to where she was waiting for him and said, "No good?"
"It's a lot better than you were making me believe it would be," Beckett told him with a smirk. When he playfully pursed his lips for a moment she said, "I do like it, but I think there's a lot more," before he was hurriedly moving to lead her around. She was watching him in amusement when he was looking around while he showed her and eventually said, "You had no idea what it would look like did you?"
"I did… a little," Castle said slowly. "I saw some pictures on the website."
"So what do you think?" Beckett asked.
"It's way better than I thought it would be after seeing all this stone," Castle commented, walking over to the fireplace. Turning back to his wife he said, "I forgot to mention the girls had a fireplace too."
"They'll notice," Beckett said with a smile. "For now, I want to get everything put away so we can go."
"Yeah," Castle said absently. He watched her going back to their luggage and he followed her saying, "Wait, I forgot to tell you about the balcony."
"I saw at the girls' room," Beckett said. She laughed when her husband took her hand and pulled her to the sliding glass door in the living room before they were stepping outside.
"What do you think?" Castle asked, turning to her with a smile.
"It's beautiful," Beckett said, seeing the bay and a large Ferris wheel in the distance.
"It sure is."
"Julia?" Castle asked, looking at the partition between their balcony and the girls'.
"Yeah, why didn't you point out this to us?" the teen asked.
"I forgot," Castle said honestly. "You're mad, aren't you?"
"No," Julia said, smiling when Mari was laughing next to her before she turned back to the partition since her mother was speaking.
"What happened to you two unpacking?" Beckett asked.
"We're almost done," Julia said. "But we noticed the view and Mari saw the balcony."
"Yeah, we'll go right now though," Mari said.
"Can we leave this door open?" Julia asked.
"Go ahead," Beckett said. She heard the two giggling together and turned to her husband before she wrapped her arms around him. Sharing a gentle kiss with him she murmured, "I love you."
"I love you too," Castle replied with a smile, holding her tightly to him. He kissed her, lingering a little longer, before he told her, "I might tell you that tonight again."
"You're welcome to," Beckett said. They shared another kiss before her husband suddenly let her go to her surprise. She was about to protest when he was getting her hand and she asked him, "Where are you taking me?"
"To see our bed for the next few days," Castle replied once they were inside their suite. When his wife called him a pervert before she laughed, he entwined their fingers and kissed the back of it before they were slipping into what would be their bed for their stay in the Emerald City.
