Rider Time Zi-O: Roze from Remnant

Chapter 92 – Arrival of Briar Rose

"Yes, yes of course… I'll head there with him right away," Woz said as he was currently in the white narrative void that he shared with Jinn, currently on his Faizphone X. He then turned and opened his book before holding it up, "As it is written in this book, Sougo Tokiwa embarks on a path which will lead him to become the overlord of time, Oma Zi-O. The Battle for Atlas continues to rage on as Salem makes an attempt to take Miss Polendina."

"Utilizing an army of modified Grimm, our heroes were forced to fight and defend themselves at the Schnee Manor," Jinn added as she floated into view, "However it was easier said than done."

"The highly strange Grimm known as The Hound received further extraterrestrial modifications," Woz explained, "A certain planet eater is likely responsible for these modifications… as to why he's here is a worrying thought. However despite the modifications The Hound was no match for my Overlord."

"But despite this, everyone now was able to see why exactly that Grimm was different," Jinn said in an near somber tone, "Because the core of it was a Faunus with Silver Eyes…"

"Indeed, that can only bring up many unpleasant thoughts, especially with the Rose family in particular," Woz gave a nod before shutting his book, "However, it is time to regroup so that we can plan our final offensive. Though I doubt our enemies will truly give us a moments rest…"

Remnant – Mantle Crater

Geiz was currently walking through the Crater, trying to find Tsukuyomi as he surveyed the situation. While the situation in the Crater wasn't the best, it was definitely stable and getting better thanks to several Riders choosing to help out with any small problems. In one case though, he noticed Shotaro getting chewed out by Joanna for suddenly fainting out of nowhere. The result had spooked several people with the left half of W now trying to explain how his transformation worked.

Of course he was already hearing murmurs of the heating grid and walls being fixed. Especially since several of the Riders involved in those projects had returned to take a breather. Eventually, after asking around Geiz managed to get a lead on Tsukuyomi, finding out she was helping a couple of the Riders out.

A small tent had been set up, being turned into a makeshift kitchen as Shoichi, Godai and Tsukuyomi were all working on preparing meals for the temporary residents of the Crater. Shoichi and Godai had managed to figure out a stew would be the best, getting whatever ingredients they could find to make the biggest batch they could.

Of course Shoichi was heading the operation, being the head cook in charge of the stew while Godai worked on the meat and Tsukuyomi worked on the vegetables. Once enough progress had been made Shoichi had gone to taste what they had at the moment.

"Alright, it's looking good," Shoichi said as he looked over the stew, "Good work you two."

"So you think this'll be enough?" Godai asked as he stared at the large pot.

"If we portion it decently we should be able to get enough going for a large first batch," Shoichi said.

"Given the size of Mantle, we'll probably need a good couple of batches," Tsukuyomi admitted, "But this is a good start at least."

"Well so long as we keep at it we should be good," Shoichi gave a nod before setting the pot to simmer, "Alright, I think we can take a short break while it simmers."

"I'm going to stretch a bit," Godai said as he raised his arms to stretch before walking out of the tent.

"By the way, thanks for coming," Tsukuyomi said as she turned towards Shoichi, "I can only assume you're very busy."

"Well when it comes to situations like these, I can make time," Shoichi admitted, "After all, what kind of senior would I be if I didn't help you kids out every so often?"

"Again, thank you," Tsukuyomi gave a bow.

"So how have you been?" Shoichi asked.

"As well as I can," Tsukuyomi admitted as she drew out her personal Ridewatch, "Though being a Rider is a bit more intensive than I originally thought."

"Yeah, it feels like that at first," Shoichi said before patting Tsukuyomi on the back, "But sooner or later you'll fully get used to it."

"I suppose," Tsukuyomi said before giving a soft smile, "Even though it is tiring at points, it feels nice to help out people like this."

"From what I understand it sounds like you've been helping out in this city a lot," Shoichi noted.

"We've been at this for a while now," Tsukuyomi confirmed with a nod, "While it's been hard due to certain factors, we've met a lot of new friends and helped out wherever we could."

"That's good," Shoichi said before giving a frown, "Still though… to think things are this bad on this world."

"They normally shouldn't be," Tsukuyomi said, "But Salem making her move hasn't been good since this world's been on the edge of stability at times."

"Well I'm glad you all called us," Shoichi replied, "Hopefully we can do something to give this world a better future."

"I hope so too," Tsukuyomi agreed.

"See, there she is," Godai quickly hurried back, Geiz following behind him.

"Geiz, what's the matter?" Tsukuyomi asked.

"Sorry to interrupt but we're meeting up with the others at the Schnee Manor," Geiz explained, "We're rounding up our team and whoever wants to go before we leave."

"I think I'm going to go with them," Godai admitted as he gave a sheepish smile, "Sorry about that Shoichi."

"Its fine, I'll hold down the fort," Shoichi reassured before looking over at Tsukuyomi, "Looks like you've got work to do."

"Right, it was nice catching up," Tsukuyomi said as she went to join Geiz and Godai.

"Likewise," Shoichi said before heading back to check on the stew.

"So who else is coming with us?" Tsukuyomi asked as she followed after her friend.

"We need to stop by the main tent before we meet up with the others," Geiz said as he led the way to the main tent where Robyn had set everything up, "But we've got a sizeable group."

Once they arrived, Geiz entered to see both Gentoku and Alain there alongside Robyn, Marrow and Winter. The five were currently discussing issues regarding the structure of the government and Atlas/Mantle's political climate. No one was particularly paying attention to who entered, well almost no one.

"Uh, guys?" Marrow spoke up, catching Winter's attention though Robyn was currently mulling over what she had heard.

"Jeez, I didn't exactly have fond feelings for the council members… but Ironwood killing Sleet is too far," Robyn could only click her tongue in annoyance as she had to keep her anger in check.

"What a terrible man," Alain gripped his fists tightly.

"Only one of five seats left huh?" Gentoku stroked his beard a bit in thought, "If you're going to get back on your feet quickly after this, you'll need most, if not all of those seats filled."

"The issue is finding the right people," Robyn said, "Not to mention if we just appoint people suddenly then that might cause issues."

"Given the severity of the situation, I don't think that'll be an issue for at least a year," Gentoku admitted, "Plus if you use that remaining Council Member to appoint the people, then there'll be some official word to it."

"For now we should just worry about getting the General out of power," Winter said before looking up, "Speaking of…"

"Hey," Geiz said as he caught everyone else's attention, "Winter, Marrow, we're heading to the Schnee Manor to start planning. Any Riders willing to come are also welcome."

"Is it time to finally strike back against our foes?" Alain asked.

"Almost," Geiz replied, "We just need as many hands on deck to try and plan something out."

"Then if no one minds I'd like to tag along," Gentoku spoke up as Alain nodded.

"You all get going," Robyn said as she stood up and gave a stretch, "I'll keep rallying the people and coordinating with the Riders that are left."

"Then let's not waste any time," Geiz said as he walked out of the tent, the two Riders and former Specialists following after him. Eventually he led his group to the main gate where Yang, Oscar, Team JNR, Poppy, Kouta and Takatora were waiting.

"Looks like we've got a pretty sizeable group," Jaune said.

"Yeah," Geiz gave a nod, "Though there's the chance we might need more assistance once we solidify our plan."

"So how are we getting up there anyway?" Takatora asked.

"Leave that to us."

It wasn't long before everyone looked to the side, an Aurora Curtain forming as Tsukasa and Woz walked out of it, the Aurora Curtain staying active.

"All aboard Kadoya Tours, our next stop will be the famous, or infamous to some, Schnee Manor," Tsukasa said as he smirked, enjoying his little performance before turning away from everyone, "There is one thing to keep in mind however."

"And what would that be…?" Yang asked.

"A banana doesn't count as a snack on a trip," Tsukasa said before walking through the Aurora Curtain, Woz doing so as well as everyone else, some of which only giving confused looks as they followed.

Remnant – Atlas, Schnee Manor

An Aurora Curtain opened at the front entrance before sliding back to reveal everyone that had entered the previous Curtain.

"Okay, but what does that even mean?" Jaune asked.

"Clearly we can't use your hair as a snack," Yang said with a chuckle much to Jaune's displeasure.

"Oh come on it does not look that bad," Jaune groaned.

"Come on, we've got a timetable to keep," Tsukasa gestured for everyone to follow as he moved forward.

Winter could only audibly sigh as she followed, staring at the manor while gripping her fists.

"Are you alright?" Marrow asked.

"Didn't think I'd be here again or in these circumstances," Winter admitted, "I can only imagine how Weiss will react given what I've done…"

"You're worrying too much," Geiz said in reassurance.

Tsukasa cleared his throat, ready to knock only for the doors to the manor to open up, Summer having opened them up, with Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Penny and Sougo there with her to greet everyone. Needless to say they were a bit surprised to see both Winter and Marrow with the group.

"Winter…?" Weiss' eyes widened as she took a step forward, "Why are you here?"

"Hello… Weiss…." Winter spoke up slowly while glancing downwards and keeping her hands behind her back, "I've… realized my mistake and wish to stop the General before he causes even more damage."

Weiss stared in surprise only to get a small nudge, glancing back and noticing Sougo had done it. She smiled before turning back towards her sister and walking forward.

Winter stayed silent as she didn't try to make eye contact with her sister. To her surprise she suddenly felt Weiss' arms wrap around her, soon realizing her sister was hugging her, "I…"

"I'm glad," Weiss admitted as she let a few tears drop, "I didn't want to have to fight you."

Winter softly nodded as she hugged back, "I didn't either…"

Marrow couldn't help but smile a bit at the scene alongside Sougo who walked over.

"So," Sougo said, "You ended up leaving Ironwood?"

"Yeah," Marrow gave a nod, "Things have gotten too crazy over there for me to even consider staying any longer."

"Well now, expecting guests but not cleaning up?" Tsukasa asked as he entered to see the damage done to the main entrance hall.

"We've been quite busy so we didn't have any time," Summer remarked before giving a sigh, "It's been a long day."

"I'm sure it has," Tsukasa walked over and put a hand on her shoulder, "So how'd it go?"

"Pretty well all things considered," Summer admitted, already knowing that Tsukasa was talking about her explanation to Ruby.

"Looks like a lot of stuff happened while we were away," Yang said as she walked over to meet with Ruby and Blake.

"You have no idea," Blake admitted with a near exasperated sigh, "We can catch you up though."

"That'd be appreciated," Yang replied, "Just make sure to keep it simple because it has been a long couple of days."

"Will do," Blake nodded.

"I'm just glad you guys managed alright while we were split," Ruby said as she walked over to hug her sister.

"I should be telling you all that," Yang gave a chuckle as she hugged back, "Pretty sure you've dealt with worse than we've had to."

"Listen, Yang…" Ruby pulled away, "About Mom… she…"

"Hold that thought," Yang said as she turned and walked over to Summer and Tsukasa, "Clearly you have a mysterious past that not even we knew about before, and I can get those details some other time. I just have one question…"

"What is it?" Summer asked as she gave her eldest daughter her full attention.

"You're not going to leave us again, right?" Yang asked as she began to shake as tears began to form from her eyes, "You won't leave us for some stupid mission, right?"

"It's as I told everyone else, I can't promise I'll be around all the time or that it'll be the same… but I can promise that I won't be abandoning you all anytime soon," Summer gently smiled as she walked over.

Yang managed to wipe her tears away and gave a small smile, "Welcome back then."

"It's good to be back," Summer responded with a bigger smile before pulling away with a frown, "That being said I'm sad you didn't get to hear my story. It was a pretty good one."

"I can only imagine," Yang chuckled, "You always were a good storyteller."

"I hope you portrayed me with extreme accuracy," Tsukasa crossed his arms.

"Annoyingly so at times," Summer remarked with Yang snickering at that. She then turned back to her eldest daughter, "Remind me to tell you that story when this is all over though."

"Sure thing," Yang nodded.

"Hey…" Ren spoke up as he looked around, noticing that one person in particular was missing, "Where's Nora?"

"Oh uh…" Blake realized that of course Ren would be the one to bring it up, "She…"

"If you and Jaune could follow me," Weiss said as she broke away from the hug with her sister, wiping her eyes a bit before walking over, "She's currently in my room."

Winter meanwhile looked over to see Penny approaching, "Penny… I…"

"You made it," Penny smiled, "I am glad to see you here, Winter."

"I'm glad as well," Winter admitted with a relieved breath, "After hearing all the plotting when it came to you I…"

"It was scary," Penny admitted, "But I have a lot of incredible friends that helped me pull through."

"That's good to hear," Winter admitted.

"I suppose the rest of us should start figuring out a plan," Woz spoke up as he looked around, "Is there anywhere we can do so?"

"There is the dining room," Blake spoke up, "It has a big enough table that should seat everyone and if not some can stand."

"Then let's get started," Geiz replied, "If possible we should try and come up with a plan to finish this up by tomorrow morning. We don't need this going any longer than it needs to."

Remnant – Monstra

Salem was in her throne room, patiently tapping her fingers against the bone-like chair as she sat in it. She was currently waiting for a certain process to be done when she heard one of the doors open. Hazel and Mercury soon walked into the room before walking towards the throne.

"Ma'am, you wanted to see us?" Hazel asked as he went to kneel alongside Mercury.

"Yes, I need both of you to be ready," Salem said, "If all goes well then we will have a chance to rectify the setbacks that have happened so far."

"R-Really…?" Mercury asked in surprise.

"Yes," Salem said as she stood up, "Thanks to some help I believe I've created the ultimate warrior that will completely decimate the General's forces and deal with any Rider that attempts to interfere. We will then siege the city itself and take back our comrades before acquiring the Winter Maiden and taking the Relic of Creation."

"Understood, we'll make sure we're ready," Hazel said before standing up and turning away, Mercury doing the same.

The two didn't receive any other response from Salem as they walked out, both making their way through the hallways of Monstra.

"So… do you really think we can win this?" Mercury asked.

"Having doubts?" Hazel asked.

"I wasn't until that stupid Time Jacker person ruined everything," Mercury admitted with a hiss, "Like seriously… we lost how many people?"

"Two then and there, and the third sometime after," Hazel said, "We're the only ones left so I can see why you'd have doubts because I'm admittedly having some myself."

Mercury stared in surprise, "You of all people?"

"Yes, however I've gone this far…" Hazel said before walking at a faster pace, "I can't just stop now because I doubt we'll win."

"Right…" Mercury trailed before heading off on his own to head back to his room.

Remnant – Atlas, Schnee Manor

The dining room was currently filled to the near brim with guests as Team RWBY, Team Zi-O, Oscar, Penny, Marrow, Winter and their Rider allies were either sitting at the table or leaning against the walls. Ruby and Sougo were at the head of the dining room table, the two deciding to act as the main planners. It didn't take long for Weiss to enter as well while both Jaune and Ren had decided to stay with the recovering Nora.

"We've got two big opponents to deal with," Sougo spoke up to start the meeting, "Salem and Ironwood."

"We'll need to also approach this carefully too," Ruby said, "There's no telling what Salem has, not to mention she has a good amount of people that follow her. But Ironwood has access to Another Riders."

"Though the Time Jackers do seem to be somewhat in league with Salem," Woz spoke up, "After all they did help assist in Cinder's attack against Amity."

"So both sides likely hold an equal threat to each other," Takatora said as he mulled on the situation, "Then neither can take priority…"

"From a tactical standpoint our best bet would be to strike both sides at the same time," Gentoku said as he stroked his beard slightly, "Striking one but not the other could result in us being blindsided."

"We do have the necessary resources to do so," Woz said, "The question now is to figure out how to strike both sides…"

"We need to take out that giant whale first off," Tsukasa said, "It's going to be a big issue if we let it stick around."

"How do we even deal with that though?" Poppy asked before spreading her arms out, "Wasn't it super huge?!"

"Before we forget, this did just happen this morning," Summer said as she placed her Scroll on the table, activating the projection to show Zi-O Trinity's attack against Monstra, "I think we have more than enough firepower to destroy it."

"That's still insane…" Marrow shook his head while Winter nodded in agreement.

"But it only pushed it," Oscar said, "I know Sougo's strong but isn't that asking a lot for him?"

"Well I was rushing as fast as I could," Sougo admitted as he scratched his cheek, "I'm pretty sure a full power finisher from Zi-O Trinity could deal enough damage."

"The problem is we need to fully destroy it," Geiz said as he leaned forward and put his hands on the table, "While I'm sure we can kill it, we need it mostly obliterated instead of making it a carcass. Cause if there are large enough pieces left of it, there's no telling if Salem can use that to make something else."

"If need be I can potentially help in regards to more damage," Godai suggested.

"As appreciative as that is, that giant whale will need to be weakened beforehand," Tsukasa replied before holding up three fingers, "But it's a good thing we've got three people who can structurally weaken it before Zi-O Trinity deals the final blow."

"Wait, we do?" Blake asked.

"Two Silver-Eyed Warriors and one Maiden," Tsukasa said as he crossed his arms, "Even someone who's just starting out like our Winter Maiden can likely boost her abilities to tear through the foundation of a Grimm's interior. It'll also help if we have two Silver-Eyed Warriors unleashing their power to weaken said Grimm afterwards."

"Are we sure that's a good idea?" Oscar asked as he was a bit wary of the idea, "I mean… given Penny's status as the Winter Maiden, isn't it risky?"

"I will be fine," Penny reassured, "Besides I think that is an excellent idea. I will do anything I can to help."

"That's the spirit," Tsukasa replied.

"Plus the teams aren't finalized," Ruby said, "We'll make sure someone is there to help her out if something happens."

"So we've got an idea for Salem," Marrow said, "What about Ironwood?"

"We need him and the remaining Ace Ops defeated so that the remainder of the Atlas Military stands down," Winter said.

"The issue is trying to make sure they're all in one place," Weiss said, "If we miss one, they could easily take command and keep up the fight."

"There's only one of them I could imagine doing that," Winter admitted as she thought about her next words carefully, "But I do have an idea to get them all in one place."

"What kind of idea?" Tsukuyomi asked, a bit concerned by the tone the elder Schnee held in that last sentence.

"I'll pretend to give myself up to Ironwood," Winter replied much to everyone's surprise, "Tell him I saw the error of my ways."

"That's too risky," Weiss argued, "I won't let you do that."

"It's not like I would let them get farther than them meeting with me," Winter replied, "Plus I'd have someone there to step in, just in case Swartz is there."

"There's one key detail we're missing though," Sougo said, "The Atlesian Knights that became the Another Agito Army, so even if we deal with Ironwood there's still that."

"There is likely a Prime Another Agito being used to convert the machines into Another Riders," Woz said.

"We'll need to locate and deal with it near the same time then," Ruby said as she looked around, "And if that's all we need to concern ourselves about in the broadest sense… it seems like we've got something of a plan."

"Then I think for now we can take a break," Tsukasa said as he went to stretch.

"Wait, a break already?" Kouta asked.

"Well we've already got solid footing and really just need to plan out the details," Tsukasa held up a finger before raising another, "Plus I figured this room might be a bit too cramped despite all the space and a break might help us come up with better strategies."

"I don't mind," Sougo said as he stood up as he gave a stretch, "I was thinking of calling for a short break anyway. We've got a lot of good brainstorming done surprisingly."

"Then I guess we're taking a break," Ruby gave a nod, "How's 30 minutes sound?"

Everyone in the room all agreed to the time for the break, though Weiss couldn't help but look over at Sougo with a bit of concern. She couldn't help but feel this was a way of trying to have a bit of time alone given everything that had been piling up.

Remnant – Atlas Academy, Ironwoods Office

"Sir, you wanted to see me?" Harriet asked as she walked into Ironwood's office.

"Yes, I figured you should know," Ironwood said as he was at his desk, "Once Swartz returns I plan on getting an Anotherwatch from him to try to revitalize Clover."

"Do you really think it will work?" Harriet asked, clear hope in her expression.

"I'm thinking a good jolt is needed to wake him up fully," Ironwood nodded, "I plan on moving him from the medical facility to the school campus' infirmary soon as well. I figured I'd let you know since you are the current leader of the Ace Ops."

"Of course, thank you for letting me know," Harriet said before noticing the various holographic displays he had up, "If you don't mind me asking, how is the battle going, sir?"

"Rather well actually," Ironwood admitted, "While our ships are still working on dealing with the Tempest and other flying Grimm our ground forces have been covering much better ground. It seems that not having her whale fortress land has hurt Salem's ability to churn out more Grimm."

"Then we have a chance?" Harriet asked.

"Yes," Ironwood stroked his beard slightly, "From the reports I've been getting I've been told her production of Grimm has started to slow down heavily. Thus we've been able to tear through her forces easily. If all goes well then we might just be able to start a frontal long range attack on her warship Grimm."

"Sir, sir we've done it!" A soldier called out through communications, "We've broken through the last wave of Grimm!"

"Good," Ironwood said as he pressed a button on his desk, "Begin formation to begin assaulting Salem's massive Grimm, I want everything we have thrown at it."

"Yes sir!"

"Central Command, start sending the Another Agito's to try and board Salem's fortress. We'll tear it apart from the inside if we have to," Ironwood ordered as he contacted Central Command, cutting communications once he heard a groan of confirmation before smiling, "It's finally going to be over…"

Remnant – Atlas, Schnee Manor

Sougo was currently in the main entrance hall, staring at the hole in the window where The Hound had erupted from after its first defeat.

"You know, I've broken my share of windows before."

"Huh?" Sougo turned before seeing Godai approach, "Oh, Godai. What are you doing here?"

"Well aside from sitting in on the planning I thought I'd come and talk," Godai said with a smile as he went to sit at the base of the steps, "It's been a while, right?"

"Yeah, it has," Sougo gave a nod as he went to sit down next to the legendary Rider, "Thanks for coming."

"You know I'd do anything for you or Ruby, and even then I'd still go to any Riders that want help," Godai reassured.

"Right…" Sougo nodded before raising his legs and resting his arms around his knees, "Hey I was wondering…"

Godai looked over, "Yeah?"

"Have you ever… lost your temper before?" Sougo asked, "Just, something that makes your blood boil so much, all you do is want to put a stop to it there and then?"

"What's this about?" Godai asked, clear concern lacing his words.

"Before this big battle started, one of the triggers to it was a massacre at an election party," Sougo explained as he recalled the details of the event since he hadn't been there, "This Faunus named Tyrian Callows… he works for Salem but… he's sick. He's been behind a bunch of killings in Mantle and from what I know about him, even if he's working for Salem… he's been at this for a long time and clearly gets a kick out of it. So when I confronted him I kind of lost it."

Godai remained silent as he heard this, recalling his fights against the Grongi, and more specifically one in particular that had pushed him rather far.

"I had looked into his victims prior and after a close call with another potential victim I just started slowly but surely taking him apart. I tore off the mechanical replacement tail he had, disabled his weapons, made him see his Semblance as useless …" Sougo listed off as he clasped his hands tightly, "Then I just started punching him as much as I could… and every punch I could just see a victim in my head. I only knocked him out but…"

"There are a lot of times when we need to show restraint," Godai admitted as he had a more serious look on his face, his hands curled into fists, "But that Faunus, no… that thing was no better than a monster so I don't blame you for your reaction."

Sougo looked to his senior in surprise, "Godai…"

"Sometimes, although I'd rather they not, very unpleasant events might happen while you're a Rider," Godai explained, "And sometimes that's a reminder that anyone can become a monster…"

"We need to temper ourselves, right?" Sougo asked before looking at his hands, "But even then I'm wondering if I can still do that. I had to put someone down just earlier today…"

"What do you mean?" Godai asked.

"This Grimm… there was this Grimm that wanted Penny, it was already heavily modified but this time it was modified further. We thought a Silver-Eyes blast would take care of it but that only exposed what it really was. It used to be a person, it was a Faunus… but despite being whole in there, he was still under control of the Grimm," Sougo explained as his hands began to shake, "And then I used Zi-O II to look into the future and everyone was just in too much shock to even attempt to try and find a way to beat it. It would have started to pick us off one by one... so I made the hard choice and killed him before he could hurt the others."

"You put his soul to rest," Kouta said as he walked over, having been making his way into the main entrance hall already.

"Kouta…?" Sougo asked.

"What you're describing sounds like whoever was being used to make that Grimm function wasn't truly alive anymore," Kouta explained as he stood in front of Sougo, "And even if you did find a way to separate him from the Grimm, who knows if he would've been able to live outside of it."

"It still doesn't feel good," Sougo admitted.

"I know it doesn't," Kouta said with a small frown, "Did you know the first monster I ever killed was a friend of mine?"

Sougo and Godai looked up in surprise at these words.

"I never knew until later but when I did it tore me up inside," Kouta replied, "I moved forward because I knew I couldn't just wallow in my own sorrow forever. I knew I had to keep fighting for my ideals, so I fought while keeping in mind what I had done."

"It never gets easier, does it?" Sougo asked.

"Maybe not," Godai admitted as he placed a hand on Sougo's back, "But the fact that you feel awful about it speaks to how human you are."

"The fact that you're struggling with these feelings is a reminder that you are only just human," Kouta agreed, "You aren't some vicious killer if that's what you were trying to think."

"And if those thoughts ever become too much for you, well… you have plenty of close friends to help you out," Godai gave a smile, recalling the entire reason he went to talk to Sougo to begin with.

"Yeah, they're definitely a big part of your life," Kouta agreed as he glanced towards the side.

Weiss was currently near one of the pillars, having been watching the scene in silence. She had asked Godai to help her out with this since she knew that Sougo talked highly of the first Heisei Rider. So she figured he'd be able to help better with the issue. She was surprised when Kouta had decided to join in but she didn't mind. She couldn't help but breathe a soft sigh as it seemed as though Godai and Kouta talking to Sougo had seemed to relax him somewhat.

Penny was currently making her way to Weiss' room when she saw Jaune awkwardly make his way out of it.

"Is everything alright Jaune?" Penny asked.

"Huh? O-Oh yeah everything is totally fine, I think," Jaune said as he backed away from the room in a hurry, "Just trying to give Ren and Nora some space."

"Right…" Penny looked down, "Jaune, I am sorry about what happened."

"Hey now it's fine," Jaune said as he hurried over, "I know Nora didn't exactly come out of it in the best shape but thanks to my Semblance she's a lot better now that her Aura's fully regenerated."

"She is?" Penny asked in surprise.

"Yeah most of the pain is gone and she'll maybe have to take it easy if she's going to fight with us but we're good," Jaune said before giving a sigh, "Though I couldn't get rid of the scars…"

"Oh…" Penny looked down again.

"I guess sometimes we need reminders of what's happened, even if they don't look the best," Jaune admitted, "But Penny, you know it isn't your fault."

Penny shook her head, "But if Harriet didn't goad me out then-"

"Weiss explained what happened to me," Jaune put a hand on his friends shoulder, "Nora knew what she was doing and I don't think she truly regrets what happened."

"You really think so?" Penny asked.

"I'm sure she'd do it again in a heartbeat," Jaune said confidently before giving a nervous chuckle, "Though I'd rather she not…"

"Yes, it was rather dangerous," Penny agreed.

"What about you? From what I've been hearing it sounds like you've been through a lot too," Jaune mentioned.

"I am doing better," Penny admitted, "I was doubtful about what to do before, but I think I know what I want to do now."

"That's good to hear that you found some answers Penny," Jaune smiled, "You're looking a lot better too than you were earlier on."

"I am?" Penny asked before looking herself over, "Though I am still quite dusty and dirt filled from the prior fights."

"No, no I mean your expression," Jaune let out a light laugh.

"Oh…" Penny realized what her friend meant before nodding, "I suppose I am."

"I still can't believe it."

"Believe it."

Yang was currently talking to Ruby, the two deciding to catch up in regards to what happened specifically. While Ruby didn't want to spoil the story Summer showed her for Yang, she did explain about Rose briefly before transitioning into Rose Armor.

"So how does it feel to finally have another power-up?" Yang asked.

"Pretty good," Ruby admitted before giving a mischievous smile, "Plus I get to test out some new stuff with a bunch of old Ridewatches now."

"Considering this involves new weapons I'm not surprised you're like this," Yang chuckled, always a bit amused whenever her sister's weapon loving side came to the forefront.

"Excuse me, Miss Rose."

The voice belonged to Winter, the two sisters turning to see her approaching them from behind.

"Huh, Winter?" Ruby asked in surprise, "Did you need to speak to me?"

"I'm a bit surprised," Yang spoke up, "Thought you'd be with Weiss."

"I have important business to attend to before I forget," Winter explained before bringing out the Silver Roze Ridewatch half she had been holding onto, "I'm sure you can utilize this more than I can."

"Wait, that's…" Ruby said with a quick gasp as she brought out the half of Silver Roze she had before taking the half Winter had and combining them back together. "Where… when did you find this?"

"You had it all this time?" Yang asked.

"I did," Winter said before turning away, "I found it after the fight with Cinder and pocketed it. I was tempted to give to the General for research but then well… I saw Swartz."

"Oh," Ruby realized exactly why Winter had hesitated in giving Ironwood the Ridewatch, "So you just held onto it without anyone knowing this entire time?"

"Yes," Winter gave a nod, "I figured if we somehow crossed paths that I'd be able to return it to its proper owner."

"Huh, you know you're not half bad," Yang spoke up.

"Thanks, it means a lot to me," Ruby admitted with a smile as she pocketed her Ridewatch.

"I'd like to thank you for the harsh words you threw at me back during our fight," Winter turned towards Yang, "I suppose they were part of the reason I chose to act then and there."

"Well hey, we big sister's have to look out for each other," Yang shrugged.

"That being said," Winter's voice grew stern as she glanced at Ruby who yelped, "I'd suggest taking good care of that device from now on. It is one of your stronger forms, correct? I can only imagine how tough the battles have been without it."

"I've uh… managed," Ruby gave a nervous chuckle at the slight scolding she was getting, rubbing the back of her neck while Yang snickered, "But thanks again and I promise I won't lose one of the pieces again."

"Good," Winter gave a small smirk before walking off.

Ruby merely gave an exasperated sigh while Yang patted her sister's back.

Remnant – City of Atlas Outskirts

It had taken a bit to get into formation but it wasn't long before the remainder of the Atlesian ground forces had gathered up to start their march to close in on Monstra.

"Alright forces, let's start charging forward and get in position!" One of the lead Atlesian Soldiers called out as he raised his weapon to lead the charge. The other Soldiers started cheering before charging forward, the Another Agito Army running alongside them before they began to slow down.

The reason for the sudden loss in momentum was the fact that Monstra was opening its mouth again. It didn't seem to be spitting out another giant wad of Grimm Liquid however as it instead opened its mouth as wide as it could. Soon a small black sphere of liquid launched out before impacting against the edge of the land. A black pool of Grimm liquid formed from the sphere, it keeping a circular shape without any issue.

[GRIMM RIDE]

The pool began to bubble in the center before something began to emerge from the liquid despite it being too shallow for anything to feasibly do so. Soon enough a female armored being could be seen emerging from the pool. It had a jet-black bodysuit with white constellation styled markings on different parts of the exposed bodysuit. Over the bodysuit was white armoring on the chest, forearms, hands, front of the thighs, shins and boots, the armoring having Grimm-like red markings on it.

It wore a long black hooded coat with short sleeves, the coat reaching down to the back of its ankles. The back of the coat held Salem's glyph sigil with an emblem resembling a rose in the center. Its helmet was smooth and rounded, having no real notable features aside from the front mask which was a white molded rose with red narrow bug-like compound eyes. Tying the coat to the waist was the 'Driver' it wore, it having a bone-white segmented belt with a black rectangular center buckle, a thick white plate with a red circular window being placed on top of the buckle. Inside of the plate was the Kamen Ride Card for Rose resting in the center.

[BRIAR ROSE!]

Briar Rose groaned as the black pool began to slink and spiral back towards its feet, its body creaking slightly as it stood where it was. The liquid continued to spiral and swirl, seemingly vanishing but it was actually entering Briar's body.

"W-What is that thing…?" A Soldier asked as they paused.

"S-Someone get the General a video of this thing now!" A second Soldier called out.

The Another Agitos merely growled out before charging towards Briar Rose, seeing no sense in stopping and holding back.

Briar let out a low hiss as it stepped forward before launching off the ground as the arms of its bodysuit began to bubble.

[GRIMM RIDE: BOARBATUSK!]

Soon enough sharpened tusks sprouted out of its forearms. It held its arms close before spreading them out as it launched past the small group of Another Agito's that led the charge. Visible cuts could be seen on the Another Agito's before they groaned out and exploded.

"Kill that thing!" A Soldier yelled out as he began to fire off his rifle, unloading all of his rounds against Briar.

Briar stood where it was, the blasts hitting their mark but most bouncing off with only small sparks occurring every now and then. It then threw its hand out, the hand morphing and suddenly becoming elongated and tube-like.

[GRIMM RIDE: KING TAIJITU!]

The head of a King Taijitu launched out like a whip as it bit into the soldier that was targeting Briar. The Soldier gave a yell as he was bit into, the fangs of the King Taijitu breaking through his armor. He could only cough violently as he was slammed into a set of nearby Soldiers and Another Agitos.

With all of the commotion, several Another Agitos had attempted to circle around. They then leapt towards Briar's unguarded back. The glyph on the back of its coat began to shine before Shadow Hands launched out from it, the claws of the hand close together as they pierced through the chests and stomachs of the Another Agito's. It didn't take long for the Shadow Hands to flick themselves around, tossing the impaled Another Riders away, the extra appendages retracting as the Another Agitos exploded.

"I… am Briar Rose," Briar spoke up as it stared at the army it was more than ready to face, "I will be Salem's ultimate emissary and rid this world of you foolish humans."

Remnant – Monstra

Salem could only watch the scene unfold with a smile adorning her face. Briar had already taken out several Soldiers and Another Agito clones with little effort compared to how poorly her army was doing before. She also couldn't help but find amusement in Hazel and Mercury's faces, the two having arrived back after preparing themselves.

"What the hell is that?" Mercury asked.

"The being which will ensure our victory," Salem answered, "The two of you are to stay here. Mercury, give me your Scroll, I wish to broadcast something."

"Wait, what?" Mercury asked as he turned towards Salem, "Why do you want the battle broadcasted?"

"I want to show those who oppose us what they're truly getting into," Salem smiled as the view in Monstra began to change, soon showcasing a more zoomed in view of the battle from high up, "I want them to feel fear when they realize that I now have access to the same power they do."

Remnant – Mantle, Time Jacker Hideout

"Hey, what's this?" Uhr asked as he held up his Scroll as he heard an alert pop up before his eyes widened once the alert was on full display. He quickly hurried over to the desk and slammed the Scroll to activate its projection function.

Everyone would soon be treated to seeing Briar make its way across the outskirts of the floating city of Atlas. Atlesian Soldier, Another Agito, and even Atlesian Paladins couldn't stop this Grimm/Rider Hybrid as it continued to push forward.

"I hope you all had your fun," Salem's voice could be heard as the footage continued to play, Briar continuing to dominate the battlefield with little resistance, "If you truly believed you were safe because of some mere Kamen Riders then think again. I have waited far too long to be stopped by a horde of ants simply emerging from the woodwork. My ultimate weapon will show you all what it means when you cross me."

"Salem…" Cinder growled as her left arm twitched slightly.

"How did she create her own Kamen Rider?" Swartz questioned.

"That doesn't look like a normal one," Finis replied, "Not to mention there was that strange Grimm she had, perhaps it was a test for this one."

"There's no way she could create her own Rider without a base," Ora narrowed her eyes, "She had to have had something to help the process."

"Well it looks a lot like Roze…" Uhr mentioned as he stared at Briar before it finally clicked in his head, "Or Rose…?"

"What?" Swartz asked.

"That's right, her new form was this thing called Rose Armor," Uhr said in realization, "I think she got it from someone who looked to be her mom."

"But the only way an Armor or Future Time can exist is if it's based on a previous Rider," Finis said before also coming to the same realization, "Are you saying Roze isn't the first Rider from Remnant?"

"It sounds like he's suggesting that," Ora said, "So this is using the power of Kamen Rider Rose even though we've seen her and she seems pretty normal?"

"Yeah she just hasn't transformed to help out yet," Uhr pointed out, "Meaning Salem must have somehow claimed her powers before this all started."

"Good guessing Uhr," Swartz complimented as he saw the younger Time Jacker figure out what was likely going on, "So you're saying this Grimm Rider contains the power of a Kamen Rider Rose?"

"Then we'd do well to claim that power for ourselves," Finis said before looking over at Cinder, "How about we shut up your former master?"

"I'd love nothing more than to do that," Cinder gave a smirk as orange fire formed over her right eye.

Remnant – Atlas, Schnee Manor

Sougo had just finished talking to Godai and Kouta, the two heading off with Weiss walking over to meet with him.

"Feel any better?" Weiss asked.

"Huh? Wait…" Sougo paused, "Were you watching?"

"I was tempted to join in but I figured I wouldn't butt in," Weiss admitted, "So?"

"I'm feeling better, yeah," Sougo gave a nod, "Thanks for asking Weiss."

"Hey, we're friends right?" Weiss asked.

"Of course," Sougo smiled but soon gained a more thoughtful look, "But…"

"But…?" Weiss raised an eyebrow.

"I was wondering about the painting in the dining room," Sougo admitted, "The man in the armor, it looks similar to the statues alongside the Arma Gigas. Why is that?"

"Oh, that's my grandfather, Nicholas Schnee," Weiss explained before she gave a soft smile, "I don't remember much since I was pretty young when he was still alive, but his visits were always pleasant."

"That's good to hear," Sougo smiled, "He must have been a great man."

"In a way I feel as though my current path as a Huntress is to honor him and his hard work," Weiss admitted, "Which is why I refuse to take the easy way out."

"Right," Sougo nodded before his thoughts drifted slightly, "Hey…"

"What's the matter?" Weiss raised an eyebrow.

"I was wondering if um…" Sougo trailed a bit before shaking his head and turning away, "I uh…"

"Sougo…?" Weiss asked, "You were wondering what?"

"SOUGO!"

"Huh?" Sougo turned towards the top of the stairs to see red petals rush down as Ruby stopped right at the base of the steps, "Ruby?!"

"We've got an issue!" Ruby quickly drew out her Scroll and showed Sougo the transmission that Salem had sent out.

Sougo's eyes widened when he saw Briar Rose, "What?!"

"It looks like she's finally gone and done it," Tsukasa said as he walked over with Summer, "She's using Summer's Ride Card."

"And she's created quite the powerful Dark Rider or at least something close enough," Summer said with a grimace, "We need to stop that Rider before we can think of planning any kind of attack."

"Are you sure you should be going out?" Ruby frowned.

"I'm not about to let you all do this alone," Summer stated firmly, "That's my power out there causing havoc and I'm taking responsibility for that."

"Fine," Ruby said as she soon realized her mom wasn't going to budge.

"Now would be a good time to get that power back," Tsukasa mused.

"So who do we send out for this?" Weiss asked.

"Given that there's an army of Another Riders and Atlesian Soldiers also nearby… we can't risk too many people," Sougo admitted, "I think this might have to be a Rider only mission."

"If it's a Rider only mission then you're going to need some help with that," Geiz said as he walked over with Tsukuyomi and Woz.

"It's been a while since we all fought together like this," Tsukuyomi noted.

"Indeed," Woz agreed before holding out his hand, "We shall show those fools the power of my Overlord!"

Ruby couldn't help but turn with a smile, "Guess it's settled then."

Remnant – City of Atlas Outskirts

"You all are such fools to stand in my way," Briar grabbed two charging Another Agitos by the faces before slamming them into the ground, unleashing a pulse of dark energy into their heads to force them to explode. It then stood up as bullets began to strike its front body, small sparks and impacts occurring but nothing truly forcing it to pause.

Despite the continuing advances of the Grimm themed Rider, Soldiers, Another Agito clones and even a Paladin charged forward to try and deter the Grimm.

[GRIMM RIDE: BERINGEL!]

Briar's arms soon morphed Beringel-like fists forming as gauntlets over its arms before it slammed both into the ground, red cracks occurring before an explosion of energy was launched outwards. Soldiers yelled out as they were thrown away while any Another Agito caught in it howled out before exploding.

The Paladin ran through the explosion, trying to slam its fist into Briar only for the Grimm themed warrior to use its own fist to block the attack.

Briar then pushed further, using its Beringel enhanced arm to shatter the Paladin's arm. It then leapt up and slammed its other enhanced arm into the main cockpit of the machine, an indention occurring in the Paladin before it fell down and exploded. Briar then landed and shook its arms, shifting them back to their normal armored states.

"Hmm…?" Briar turned as it felt something behind it, suddenly feeling blades dig into its back as it quickly spun and stepped out of the way.

Another Shinobi had leapt out of Briar's shadow, using its speed to land a decent hit on Briar. It then gave a growl as it turned to face Briar in a crouched state.

"Ah yes, I remember Mistress Salem giving me details of who you were," Briar said as it tapped its head, a flash appearing in its eyes as it accessed the memories that Salem had given it, "And if you're here…"

Several arrows were launched towards it, before it could back away the arrows hit all around it before exploding. Briar emerged from the fire and smoke, skidding to a stop as it looked up to see Cinder in the air, using her Maiden powers to keep her airborne.

"So you're Salem's new pet?" Cinder asked.

"Cinder Fall…" Briar said as it stared upwards, "I suppose she was right in that my creation would garner your attention."

"I'm not here for you," Cinder narrowed her eye, "I'm here for your power, the power of Kamen Rider Rose."

"I could say that I could care less about you as well," Briar said, "After all, you hold the power of the Fall Maiden, one of the Maidens that has yet to unlock the vault she's assigned to."

"Like you'd be able to handle that kind of power," Cinder scoffed as she lowered herself before taking out the Hi-Roze Anotherwatch, "Besides… I have something that can easily get on your level."

[HI-ROZE!]

Cinder smirked as she threw her arm with the Anotherwatch down near her waist, a burst of fire exploding out from her before fading away to reveal her form as Another Hi-Roze.

"I suppose it's time to see which of us monstrous Riders will come on top," Briar said as it began to walk forward.

"Like I'll let myself lose to you," Hi-Roze scoffed as she walked forward, "I'm going to become Queen."

Both Combatants slowly approached each other at a steady pace before running towards each other. Hi-Roze reeled back her right fist while Briar did the same, both Dark Rider and Another Rider slamming their fists against the other, sparks flying as a result as they tried to push past the other.

Remnant – Atlas Medical Facility

There didn't seem to be any update in Clover's condition, though there were medical personnel going in and out and preparing Clover for transportation once the orders came through. While they were unsure at first, Ironwood's current status and actions as Another Zi-O had forced anyone who wanted to object to shut up lest they lose their humanity.

...

...

...

Clover while still unconscious however, didn't exactly mean he had no awareness. While he couldn't clearly hear anyone speaking, anytime someone was near him and talking he'd hear their voices like far off mumbles. Of course everything looked the same to him, a black void that didn't seem to end, alongside a stiff feeling in which he was just stuck in place. He felt as if he was moving however it was less like he was doing it himself and more he was going along with the flow. He had actually been like this for a while, repeating thoughts constantly as he was left to his own devices.

He couldn't help but recall yet again how exactly he had gotten into this situation.

"Why can't you just do the right thing instead of the thing you were told?!"

"Sometimes the right decision is the hardest to make, I trust James with my life!"

"I wanted to trust you-GUH!"

Despite how it seemed, he always had this strange memory loop when trying to recall what had happened. He had been stabbed by Tyrian he thought, except not really as memories overlapped and he was in the middle of the same speech.

"Sometimes the right decision is the hardest to make, I wait… what?"

The confusion and sudden panic that had washed over him was enough to force him unconscious, his body seemingly shutting down aside from what mental capabilities he had. At the very least if he was thinking this clearly about the situation, he likely wasn't dead… he hoped anyway. Though that hope was more reassured given the two sets of memories he ended up having. Though, it was odd to him how trying to remember essentially triggered both replaying one after another.

Despite the odd experience in and of itself, there was relief that he was likely still alive, but it was still something that couldn't be easily swallowed. Luckily he had all the time in the world when it came to that, at least he assumed he did given how there was no indicator of time. But this had allowed him to think on the current situation very carefully. Well… at least he thought until the mumbles around him began to grow louder.

"Hey, why does the General want him transferred to the school?"

"I don't know why, but I'm not about to argue with that monster."

"Normally I'd tell you to watch your language but given that he literally turned into a monster…"

"Alright folks, let's stop gossiping, I want this done so we don't end up getting turned into monsters like he threatened we would."

"Yes sir."

Hearing the conversation, even as low as a whisper couldn't help but give him some pause as he grew concerned about what exactly Ironwood was doing while he was unconscious.

...

...

...

As the medical personnel continued their preparations to move Clover, they didn't notice something off. In their rush and unbeknownst to them, Clover's fingers twitched ever so slightly.

To Be Continued…

Next Time:

"Do you have anywhere else you can go?"

"I will gladly deal with you three."

"The power that was always destined to be yours...?"

"There's a reason I call it Petal Dance."

"Don't make us laugh!"

Chapter 93: Petal Dance of the Rozes

Author's Note: A bit of a breather chapter for the most part as we are rapidly approaching the end of the A New Age for Remnant Saga. We only have a handful of chapters left, so having some kind of breather before we dive back in was something I felt was needed. It wasn't all calm though, what with the debut of a bit of a concept I decided to bring forth, that being Briar Rose.

I figured an entity with the powers of all Grimm would make for an interesting foe, and Briar Rose very much is a test run of that idea. Speaking of tests and Briar in particular, the original title for Briar Rose was The Rider, to be similar to The Hound. But that presented more problems with how to structure scenes with it, and Grimm Rider felt more like a title similar to Dark Rider, so I didn't go with that either.

With that out of the way, it's crazy to think we've been going for a hundred chapters since we hit that last time. Not to mention us recently reaching 1000 Reviews, a milestone I never expected to ever reach. I truly appreciate all the support everyone's given me and continues to give me. With that said thanks for reading and I'll see you all next time.
