Casey was relieved getting up early as it was Monday and a school-day but the female-cub wasn'tva big fan of Mondays remembering Ms Sif saying they were starting a special project which the class had speculated about on Friday after the final bell but now it was Monday getting dressed in her usual attire putting on her power-bands which helped her focus her many powers seeing her pet bazaki, Rufus hiding in his house because her younger sibs bothered him making him anxious, so she was feeding him before going downstairs to the kitchen seeing Jupiter, Herbert there with Rocket relieved she was up, and had energy sitting at the table, as Rocket placed Groot Morning pancakes in front of her, which made her joyful mood increase making edible art out of them hearing Rocket chuckle at this knowing the surprise would make her and her classmates excited.
"Somebody's excited this morning, about what could be happening." Rocket told her.
"You're the vice-dean so do you know what's goijg on." Casey asked him hearing him laugh.
"Sorry kiddo, it wouldn't be fair, if I told you before everybody else knows." he replied to her.
"I guess that makes sense, but hope it's a good surprise not a scary one." she replied.
They then heard the others awake and commotion guessing her mom was putting fresh diapers on Gabi, Rubik and Vee so was humming one of her favourite J-pop songs to relax herself when things got too overwhelming one of her coping mechanisms that she, Peach and Raya had came up with relieving Rocket alomg with Jupiter and Herbert plus later, it was Parent's Night which Casey was trying not to think about because it madeher nervous and that made her lose control of her powers as a laser-blast shot out of her paw singeing a hole in the wall making the smoke alarms go off.
"Oopsie, sorry, so sorry, very sorry." she said anxiously as Jupiter was taking care of things knowing she was anxious about parent-teacher night knowing she was nervous about what Ms Sif would say about her progress seeing Rocket hug his sister, he knew she worked hard at school and controlling her powers hearing her sniffle thinkijg she was in troubke, turning her good mood a little sour which bothered Herbert remembering Jupiter had been like this, at Casey's age.
"Oh kiddo, these things happen, and your mom was like this, at your age." Herbert reassured her.
"Okay daddy, I should get going but hope I don't destroy the school." she told them leaving the house making Jupiter, Herbert and Rocket exchange a look as Riley smelt smoke wondering what had happened hearing Herbert tell her Casey had accidentally lasered a hole in the wall impressing her sibs seeing Rocket sigh.
"Ranger, Riley can we count on you to watch your sibs while we go to Parent's Night to talk to Casey's teacher which was why she lasered a hole in the kitchen wall." Jupiter replied to them seeing them nodding saying they could order pizza for dinner making them excitable hearing Jupiter giggle, knowing like Rocket, they loved pixza plus she was tempted to put Vee and Rubik in pre-school despite Herbert knowing they'd have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, Casey had met up with Peach and Raya walking to school but they noticed she was distracted guessing it was about Parent's Night only they weren't so worried about it because their mom wouldn't be there as she'd abandoned them when they'd been born because they'd been runts until Casey had befriended them, then Casey's mom had adopted them ijto the family so they were like Casey's soul sisters but her best pals that lived in their treehouse in the forest area of Avengers Campus.
"Yeah, and I was so nervous, I singed a hole in the kitchen wall." Casey told them making them exchange a grin, loving when Casey accidentally used her powers hoping the surprise wasn't something bad or scary feeling Peach and Raya hug her reassuring her it could be fun like their class-pet seeing Casey grin, she'd loved that surprise hoping Rufus was okay at home because her sibs frightened him.
"Yeah that's true, hey who took Maya home this past weekend." she said.
"Billy and Tommy, they probabky terrified her when they took her home." Raya replied.
"I can ask her, when we get into class, like I talk to Rufus at home." Casey told them.
They arrived at Avengers Campus heading to the third-grade room seeing Maya's cage on the table going over to her, asking how her weekend went while the other kids were talking unaware some of them staring at the female-cub talking to Maya as Ms Sif entered looking excited about something as Casey took her seat at the back making Maya frown at that, but they could talk aboht it at recess.
"Since tonight is Parent's Night, I figured we should do a presentation where you show off your powers or skills to your parents which should be fun." she told them hearing the class cheering except for Casey feeling shaky, becoming unseen through her cloaking-power heading to the Girl's room but started crying knowing if she showed her powers, she might do damage sniffling blowing her snout into a tissue hearing knocking and Ms Sif's voice.
"Casey honey you in there, let's talk okay." she said.
"Okay Ms Sif we can talk, I guess." she mumbled softly.
"I guess the idea of showing powers made you freak out, and I know you have trouble controlling your powers and accidentally destroyed the classroom one time, but I think you have raw poyential just think about it, I see you bomd with Maya." she told her seeing her quiet.
"I'll think about it." she mumbled following her back to the classroom relieving Peach and Raya hugging her knowing the presentation had freaked her out noticing Maya was nervous going over to her cage opening it as the female bazaki was in her paws nuzzling her gentky
"Are you getting scared because of the craziness that's happening right now." she whispered.
"Uh-huh but thanks for helping, as you get anxious too, like what's happening." Maya replied noticing the female-cub-s fur was becoming barky and her furry arms became vine like seeing the others shocked, including Ms Sif remembering Rocket explaining that Casey gained or would gain more powers as she grew up guessing this was an new power.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." she said shocked sounding like Branchie and her uncle Groot.
"Look in the mirror, Casey you look really awesome, like a grootcoon." Peach told her.
Casey was in awe seeing she looked like a furry Groot guessing this an new power but loved it, feeling a cherryblossom grow on her head stunning everybody but Ms Sif had to get Rocket, he was the Groot expert but the class crowded around her making Peach and Raya irked knowing their best friend hated crowds telling them to give her space especially those allergic to pollen seeing Ms Sif with Rocket, his eyes wide in awe
"Yep it's a new power, it must've energed because of tonight, but Casey looks cute." he told her.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." Casey told him.
"No this is awesome, it makes you like Groot and Branchie, but let's go." he told her as they left the classroom making Lunella, Peach and Raya worry.
