AU: Eden never had her miscarriage and was never pregnant.

The next week would be her birthday and he wouldn't be there. Her Abba. The man she loved more than anything else in the world. Not even her beloved Nathaniel came close to the bond that she and her father shared. They had been best friends and had always been close. So when Jesus announced that he was sending her father and beloved out on missionary work, her heart shattered.

Eden saw this as the two of them were serving drinks. Nathaniel did too and he grabbed Miriam's hand, bringing her close to him for a minute, wiping the tears away with his hands as she hid her face in his neck for a few minutes before hearing her father's familiar voice behind her.

"Miriam come here little girl" he said softly, opening his arms to her. Even though he was with the boys, he was still making time for her.

She turned and walked around to her father, who pulled her into his lap, holding her close to him as he continued to listen to Jesus speak even still. Miriam's eyes closed as a few tears slid down her cheeks as she hid her face in her father's shoulder. His hand rubbed up and down her back now, his focus on Jesus, but his mind on his baby, who he would have to leave along with Eden the next day.

Simon would miss her seventeenth birthday and it pained him. He had been there for every one of her birthdays and this time he wouldn't be. He kissed the top of her head, his eyes still on his Rabbi as Miriam fell asleep in his arms slowly, the tears still flowing. Once the meeting was over, she was fast asleep in his arms.

He carried her into her room, gently setting her down on the bed, wrapping one of his blankets around her, so she would have his scent. She hadn't grown out of that since she had been a baby. He turned to see Nathaniel standing in the doorway, watching Miriam with sadness. "You can stay with her" Simon said surprising himself.

He needed to talk to Eden anyway. He turned to walk out of the room, only to turn around once more to see Nathaniel lay down next to Miriam, who latched onto him immediately, even in her sleep. He watched as the man his daughter loved held her close to him, kissing her forehead. Simon wasn't the only man in Miriam's life anymore and he had to accept that now. But he was comforted because that man was Nathaniel. He was a good man and he would take care of Miriam like no one else could.

Jesus watched Simon now, pulling a wooden box out of his pocket. It was a bracelet he had made for Miriam's birthday and he thought tonight would be the perfect opportunity for her to have it. He walked over to the girl's father now, placing a hand on his shoulder as Simon turned around to face him.

"Simon, would you give this to Miriam please? Tonight maybe. It's from me and Maya for her birthday."

Simon nodded as his daughter's best friend came up as well, wrapping her arm around her own father as he hugged her and kissed her forehead. "Please tell Miriam that we love her Simon" Maya said, a soft smile on her face.

"I will do that Maya. Thank you for being such a good best friend to her. You four girls have been inseparable and I know she will love it when you are back. When we are all back."

Maya nodded as her father led her away now, kissing her head once more.

The next week, Miriam sat around the table at her house, her mother, Grandmother, her two Uncles, Salome and Zebedee, Mary, Rebekah and Hanna. They all passed her gifts around and she loved each and every one, but what she really wanted was her Abba and Nathaniel. Material things didn't matter to her. Jesus had taught her that, but she had known it all along. Her family and friends were important to her. No one else.

As they all laughed and ate her favorite cake that her mother had baked and as they did, Miriam looked down at the bracelet on her wrist that Jesus and Maya had made her. The wooden part engraved with the words I See You. She also felt the beautiful necklace around her neck that Nathaniel had made for her as well, their initials carved into the wooden heart. M & N.

She was beyond blessed for the people that loved her. And that made everything a little bit better for her.

"Abba!"

Miriam raced out the front door a month later and right into her father's arms as he picked her up into his arms, spinning her around.

"My baby!" he exclaimed as he set her down, taking her face in his hands, taking a good look at her. "You're taller. Eden she's taller!"

"Well I've been making sure she eats right" she said as she walked towards the father and daughter now with a happy, bright smile on her own face.

Simon kissed her quickly before turning back to Miriam. "I have something for you birthday girl" he said as he pulled a wrapped box out of his pocket.

Miriam smiled and opened her gift now, gasping at the locket that was inside. "Abba! I love it!" There were words engraved on the front. Abba's Angel.

Simon took the necklace from Miriam's hands and walked behind her, placing the necklace around her neck gently. It fit perfectly with Nathaniel's necklace.

"Thank you!" she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her father's neck. "I love you Abba."

"I love you too baby" he said softly, pushing some hair out of her face just as Nathaniel came walking up to them.

"What did I miss?" he asked as the girl of his dreams turned around to face him happily.

"Nathaniel!"

She ran to greet him now, jumping up into his arms as he kissed her, her arms going around his neck as he held onto her tightly. Eden and Simon watched they're little girl from afar now as she was embraced and kissed by the man of her dreams. Her soulmate.

Things were going to be alright now because Miriam had the two men that loved her most back in her life. She knew Jesus had kept them safe for her.
