Welcome back everyone and I hope your all having a great day, today we'll be getting into chapter 4 of "Cooper's creed 3 The Assassin's vault"
Last time we recruited the Guru, the outback mystic and his new apprentice, Murray's fellow student, Shazza the Tasmanian tiger to the Cooper gang, but it's time to take a slight break away from the work and let Sly recover from the tripping ball trip he took being the puppet to the Mask of Dark Earth before moving on with their plans to recruit more members
But with that being said, time to jump right in, shall we?
Chapter 4 Doubts?
(The next day)
As soon as the next day dawned, the family packed up into the big truck and departed from Ayers rock, leaving behind both Nick and Carmelita with their equipment so they can contact a ride out of Ayers rock, after picking up their equipment from the safehouse, the family dumped the big truck and loaded up into a couple of four-by-four's left behind by the miners which had cleared out of the valley as the family was dealing with Dark Sly and the Mask of dark earth, after loading up Murray, Bentley, Neyla, Zak, T'Challa and Sly rode in one of the four-by-four's while the others rode in the other one, they set off into the Outback, driving to civilization, after driving through the hot desert for hours, they came across a stretch of road which much to their good fortune was the Warrego Highway, it was a long trip back to civilization, luckily they came across several pitstops where they could get some food and water along with some other supplies, soon enough they came to Gold Coast, Queensland
"FINALLY, back to civilization" Bentley said
"You're telling me" Neyla said
"Oh, come on guys, the last few days in the Outback wasn't all THAT bad was it" Murray asked as he drove through the streets of Gold Coast
"Is that a trick question" Zak asked
"For starters your master and Shazza were held against their will, the miners nearly desecrated the sacred sights, unleashed the Mask of dark earth" T'Challa asked Murray
"Not to mention being cupped up in a dirty safehouse with little to no internet service or without proper electricity" Bentley added
"Um, o-okay when you put it like that" Murray said
"And I had to share a room with a CERTAIN hippo who snores like a hillbilly with a broken nose" Zak said, referring to Murray's SERIOUS snoring
"No offence, Murray but you could REALLY use something to help you with your snoring" T'Challa told Murray
"And worst of all the love of my life nearly spent the rest of his life as a mindless, meat puppet to that damned Mask of dark Earth…that's definitely one moment I would rather forget about" Neyla added
"And then there was the GOD-AWFUL smell from that nasty water the miners were dropping the fuel for their machine's in and" Zak was about to say
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT it was bad…but it turned out good in the end, right, Sly's alright, we got away from Carmelita and Nick AND not only is Guru onboard for the vault job, but Shazza is to…it worked out, didn't it" Murray asked
"We got lucky" Mario said
"I agree with Mario, we're just lucky that the situation didn't get any worse than it already was" Bentley said
"What could be worse than being pulled around like a marionette on a string by an ancient mask of evil" T'Challa asked
"You said it, T'Challa that was NOT fun…and another thing, after not having running water for days I need a nice, LONG, cool BATH" Sly said
"We could all use one, love" Neyla said
"Especially Murray, I mean WHEW" Zak said as he clamped his nose shut
"OH, COME ON, I don't smell THAT bad" Murray said
"Smell for yourself" Zak replied, Murray then sniffed under his armpit
"UGH…um, yeah, okay, I DO stink" Murray said
(With the others in the other four-by-four)
"I gotta hand it to you Guru, how you survive in such unbearable heat and with little to no food and water in the middle of that desert, I'll NEVER know" Jasmine said as she drove
"It comes with years of training, mental focus over physical body" Guru answered
"Plus, if things get too unbearable, we could always just not wear our clothes at all" Shazza said
"I guess so" Jasmine said
"But aren't you concerned about being spotted naked out in the open" Aria asked
"By what, the wildlife, hardly ANYONE goes out that far in the Outback" Shazza answered
"Hmm…point taken" Jasmine said
"Guru, will Sly be okay now that he's freed from the Mask" Aria asked Guru
"With the mask destroyed, it's hold over the people it has taken over is no longer present, so it cannot feed on their negative energy, with my healing arts with help from Jasmine's alchemical remedies, he will make a full recovery, all he needs is time to rest" Guru explained
"I think we ALL deserve some rest after what we went through" Jasmine said
"Agreed, this is one night that is best left in memory, no" Helen asked
"Definitely" Cammy answered
(10 minutes later in a hotel) (8:39 PM)
After arriving at a hotel and checking in under false identities, the family checked in for about two days, they managed to get a WHOLE penthouse all to themselves along with a pool outside they could afford it thanks to the number of goods they've taken over the years, while the team had their own penthouse, Sly and Neyla had a separate room in five-star rating, they ordered a bunch of food and drinks to be brought up so they could relax, eat and chill after such a hot couple of days
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH, sweet MOMMA" Murray sighed in relief as he flopped down on one of the beds, SUPER stiffness of driving from Yuendumu to Queensland just unraveled and the fact that he was chowing down on pizza didn't hurt either
"You said it Murray, UGH, this feels so good" Mario said as he relaxed in a reclining chair
"Well, don't get too comfortable, we're only here for two days, after that" Bentley was about to say, already getting to work on something for the Assassin's vault job on a nearby table
"We know Bentley, but even Assassin's need to unwind every now and then, relax, enjoy yourself" Mario said
"Yeah, have something to eat, grab a soda or just take a nap, I bet me and Mario are gonna" Murray said
"You said it Murray, these old bones ain't what they used to be" Mario said
"Please, you could still take us all with one hand behind your back, sir" Bentley told Mario
"But no one remains the way they are forever Bentley…time will come for us to get back to work, but for now, let's just stop and enjoy" Mario replied
"COWABUNGAAAAAAAA" Zak shouted as he did a cannonball in the outside pool, he decided to go for a good swim along with Cammy, Helen, T'Challa, Jasmine and Shazza, soon enough Zak resurfaced
"WHEW YEAH, I love water, oh yes, it's so good, DESERT BAD" Zak said
"You can say that again, this feels SO GOOD" Jasmine said
"I thought cats had an aversion to water" Helen said
"Sue me it was hotter than the devil's handshake out there, momma needs to unwind in the pool" Jasmine said she then notice T'Challa was distant
"Hey, T'Challa, you okay" Jasmine asked
"You worried about Sly" Aria asked
"Yeah, he got put through one HELL Of a ringer in the Outback" T'Challa said
"Trust us, Sly has been through WAY worse than that, he'll pull through" Aria said
"Besides, he's in the best of hands with Neyla, so just seat back and relax, the cool water, the star over our heads, the cold, night air, it's PERFECT here" Cammy said as she floated on one of the pools floating tubes
"I suppose your right" T'Challa said, suddenly he was splashed by water
"GAAAH, OH, WHAT" T'Challa stuttered, it was Zak who splashed him
"Come on Challa, BRING IT" Zak challenged T'Challa as the hedgehog swam off
"COME HERE YOU" T'Challa said as he swam after Zak
"Do those two always act like that" Shazza asked from her reclining chair on the side
"They tend to act like this from time to time, leave them be is what I do" Helen answered
(In Sly and Neyla's room)
The couple were relaxing on the king-sized bed watching a movie, cuddling, Neyla just overjoyed to have her raccoon lover safe and sound in her arms especially after the ordeal he went through with the whole Mask of Dark Earth thing
"Have I ever told you Sly that I would die if anything happened to you" Neyla asked
"You didn't have to, I knew it…besides, I feel the same way" Sly replied
"Then what on EARTH possessed you to jump in front of that damned mask when it went after Carmelita" Neyla asked
"And let her be the masks puppet for the rest of her life" Sly asked
"N-not that I'd wish that but, why were you so reckless" Neyla asked
"She's your friend and even if she's so hellbent on putting me in jail, if you see her as a friend then I do to" Sly answered
"Even after all those bad things you said to her while you were gigantified" Neyla asked
"Guru said it was the masks influence bringing out my dark side, though like I told Carmelita I think she's too black and white, who knows, something I said might have gotten through to her" Sly said
"You as well as I know how stubborn she can be" Neyla said
"Even the largest of boulder will be whittled away by the stream" Sly said
"Is that another word of wisdom from Mario" Neyla asked
"You know it is and who knows, Carmelita might get the hint that we're the good guys…sooner or later" Sly said
"Yeah…in about ten years" Neyla said
"It could happen" Sly said
*Or at least I HOPE* Sly said in his mind
(Later that night) (12:34 P.M)
As the late hours of night rolled along everyone was resting and regaining their strength, even Cammy and Zak who would still be playing video games at this point were zonked out somewhere…all but one
"NO, NO, NO, NO" Bentley shouted as he balled up a piece of paper that he was writing on before tossing it in the trash along with SEVERAL other crumbled up pieces of paper, Bentley then started scribbling some more before long it ended up the same
"GRRRRRRRRR, DAMN IT" Bentley shouted before he grabbed the trash can and threw it but it almost hit Jasmine who dodged it
"WHOA, easy Bentley" Jasmine said
"Jasmine, oh my gosh, I didn't see you there" Bentley said
"It's alright, what was that yelling about, I could hear you from the other room" Jasmine said
"Wh-why are you up so late" Bentley asked before he spotted she had a glass of milk in her hand
"Oh" Bentley muttered
"What…is it so wrong for a cat to want some nice, warm milk in the middle of the night" Jasmine asked before she saw the MOUNTAIN of crumbled up paper and Bentley looked…pretty rough
"Whoa, Bentley you look like you haven't slept in DAYS" Jasmine said
"That's because I HAVEN'T" Bentley answered
"Why, what have you been working on" Jasmine asked as she walked over to what Bentley was working on, it was a layout of the fortress that the mysterious Dr. M had built on Lian Yu (How he and the others got blueprints to his fortress, I don't know I don't think they given an answer as to how they got them) and there were a WHOLE bunch of plans drawn on it in red marker
"You've been trying to come up with a plan to get into M's fortress…all by yourself" Jasmine asked
"Seems I'm the only one who wants to" Bentley said with a kind of cold voice
"Wow, Bentley that was…a little cold" Jasmine said
"S-sorry, it's just that I've been at this for THREE days and I STILL can't find a way to get to the Assassin's vault" Bentley said
"And exactly how many of these "attempts" have you theorized" Jasmine asked
"About two hundred, so far…all of them utter FAILURES" Bentley answered
"Hey, we'll figure something out, we always do" Jasmine said
"I know we do, but it sure would help if Aria was here, or someone else just as smart as me" Bentley said before he sighed
"Is there…something else that's wrong" Jasmine asked
"Jas…can I ask you something" Bentley asked
"Bentley, you can ask me anything" Jasmine replied
"Do you…do you think that I'm, UGH" Bentley growled
"Do you think you're what" Jasmine asked
"That I'm playing second fettle to Sly" Bentley asked
"Why would you ask that" Jasmine asked
"I…I don't know, I mean I'm practically the smartest one here…um, d-don't tell Cammy or Aria I said that" Bentley said
"Hey, I'm not offering judgment, I'm just a friendly ear" Jasmine said
"Sometimes I just…feel like I'm being held back by something, don't you form time to time" Bentley asked
"Well…I haven't really thought about it, but that's just because I haven't really felt that way" Jasmine answered
"Hmm, nutty notion" Bentley said
"Well…try not to stay up too late, alright Bentley" Jasmine said
"Yep" Bentley answered as Jasmine walked off, but even though Bentley said that he wouldn't work too late...he did anyway and all that time he was getting these strange messages from someone on his computer's chat room
(The next morning)
Morning came around and the family was enjoying waking up in a comfortable motel instead of a rundown outhouse like they were in the outback and not having to worry about either a spider, scorpion, snake or just any animal creeping up on them while they were either sleeping or just getting up, Sly and Mario were outside by the pool practicing their swordsmanship routine, Murray was watching TV with Jasmine, Aria and Neyla, Helen and T'Challa were working out with T'Challa was doing push ups and Helen was doing seat ups while Shazza and Guru were doing morning meditations
"KNOCK, KNOCK, RISE AND SHINE" Zak shouted as he and Cammy came through the door of their penthouse
"But, we're already up" Helen said
"And your already strong enough without the working out, BREAKFAST is here" Cammy called as she and Zak brought bags of McDonalds breakfast and drinks as the others came to the breakfast table, all but one
"WHEW, about time, I was getting hungry" Murray said
"When are you ever not hungry" Sly asked Murray
"Love, you sure you should be up and about, I mean you had it pretty rough the day before yesterday" Neyla asked Sly
"I'm fine Neyla, besides sparring with Mario always refocuses my mind" Sly said
"Did you two get everything" Mario asked Zak and Cammy
"Let's see, one chicken biscuit with mayo, with hashbrown and Pepsi for the boss man" Zak said as he handed Sly his breakfast
"Thanks Zak" Sly said
"One sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin for Mario with iced coffee" Zak continued as he handed Mario his breakfast
"Appreciated, young man" Mario said
"An extra-large serving of biscuits and gravy with a large orange soda for Murray" Zak continued as he handed the big guy his breakfast
"COME TO PAPA" Murray said
"Beacon, egg and cheese for the head lady herself with Sprite" Zak continued as he handed Neyla her breakfast
"You are a sweetie, Zak" Neyla said
"Two sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin's for Aria" Cammy said as she handed Aria her breakfast
"YES" Aria said
"Two chicken biscuits and Powerade for Jasmine" Cammy said
"Thanks" Jasmine said
"A hot coffee and breakfast burrito's for T'Challa and Helen" Zak said as he handed the two breakfast
"Thank you" Helen said
"Yeah" T'Challa added
"And…well, we didn't know what to get Shazza and Guru" Cammy said
"Here, try this" Zak said as he handed Guru and Shazza drinks
"What is this" Shazza asked
"Just try it" Zak said, Guru then looked at Shazza and motioned for her to try it which she and he did
"Delicious" Guru said
"MMM…that's pretty good, what is it" Shazza asked
"One of the greatest drinks ever made, Mountain Dew" Zak answered
"You act like you've never tasted anything in the modern world" Aria said
"We haven't, we've lived in the Outback all our lives" Guru answered
"Um, where is Bentley" Helen asked
"Yeah, where is our little buddy" Murray asked, suddenly Bentley showed up and he looked…even worse than when Jasmine saw him last night
"WHOA, dude you look like five miles of hell" Zak said
"YEESH…yeah, Bentley, what did you do, stay up all night" Neyla asked
"More or less" Bentley answered
"Here, you look like you need this more than I do" T'Challa told Bentley as he handed the turtle his coffee which he downed in here seconds
"Thanks" Bentley said
"Still can't find a way" Jasmine asked
"Afraid not…THREE…HUNDRED tries and NOTHING" Bentley said
"Three hundred…what" Shazza asked
"He's been trying to find a way to get into Dr. M's fortress since WAY last night and he hasn't been so successful" Jasmine explained
"And I've been up ALL night trying to crack it" Bentley said
"Bentley, you shouldn't push yourself like that" Sly said
"But I HAVE to figure this out, I mean, I'M the brains of the operations, I was LONG before Aria and Cammy got here" Bentley said
"We know Bentley and you'll get it, but NOT if your so tired you can't keep your wits about you" Mario said
"Let me see something here" Jasmine said, Bentley then pulled his plans out of his shell before spreading it over the breakfast table, Jasmine then looked over the plans that Bentley was trying to come up with, seeing what he was trying to do
"Man, Bentley's brain been firing on all cylinders haven't they" Zak asked
"More like overtime" Cammy said, suddenly Jasmine got an idea came to mind
"Wait…wait-wait-wait-wait…IDEAI" Jasmine said before she went to Bentley's thief-net computer which was on a nearby table and started typing in something
"Hey, wh-what are you doing" Bentley asked
"Jaz, what's going on" Aria asked
"I think I know EXACTLY what Bentley's plans are missing" Jasmine said
"Well, don't leave us in the dark" T'Challa said
"Yeah, what's missing" Bentley asked
"Check THIS OUT" Jasmine said as she showed Bentley, he looked over it for about three minutes, reading to himself silently before his eyes widened
"That…THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN MISSING" Bentley said
"An RC specialist" Cammy asked
"How is a toy car or helicopter going to help us" Helen asked
"I'll explain later but SERIOUSLY, I can't BELIEVE I didn't see it last night, if I could move my legs, I would KICK myself for being so STUPID" Bentley said
"Guess you were a little too angry last night to see the answer in plain sight" Jasmine said
"Yeah, sorry about that, but where are we gonna get" Bentley was about to ask before Jasmine pulled up something else, a person
"From her" Jasmine said as Bentley looked over the information of the person that Jasmine pulled up
"Who…IS THIS GIRL" Bentley asked
"An old friend" Jasmine said as Sly and Neyla looked at the persons profile
"Well, what do you think" Jasmine asked Sly and Neyla
"Love, are you thinking what I'm thinking" Neyla asked Sly
"My lovely tigress…I think Jasmine JUST found our next recruit" Sly said
(Four days later, Interpol H.Q, Paris)
Carmelita still more than a little pissed that Sly and his gang got away but she didn't let it get to her too much, after all like always he would resurface again sooner or later, she was currently dealing with some paperwork in her office until there was a knock at her office door
"Come in" Carmelita called out, then Nick came in with a couple of cups of coffee in his hands
"Figured you could use a pick me up" Nick said as he handed Carmelita a coffee cup
"Nick, you are THE best…what's the catch" Carmelita asked
"No catch, just figured after the long trip back home deserved a coffee" Nick answered
"Is it the kind I like" Carmelita asked
"Non-decaf coffee with milk and cream" Nick answered, Carmelita then drank from the cup
"MMMM, perfect, you know, maybe you should switch jobs to work at a café or something, you make one MEAN coffee" Carmelita said
"While I appreciate the compliment, you're the ONLY person I'll make coffee for, I also have something else for you" Nick said as he pulled out a folder
"Are those that photo that the camera had" Carmelita asked when she and Nick woke up back in the Outback, she saw a small letter tied to her camera that had "Evidence develop immediately" written on it
"Yep" Nick answered, she then took a look at the photos which she REALLY regret
"Why THOSE LITTLE" Carmelita growled a little at the sight of the photos before her
"What is it" Nick asked as he took a look at the photos himself
(The first picture where the gang was goofing off, it was a picture of Murray with pencils up his nose and his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth with Sly holding up rabbit ears behind Murray with his tongue stuck out and cross-eyed, Bentley gave the camera a smile in which he pulled his cheeks back, Neyla on the other hand sat on Sly's shoulders looking at the camera with her tongue stuck out at the camera)
(The second photo was like the first but with T'Challa held one of Sly's arrows behind his head as if he had been hit in the head with it with his eyes half closed and his tongue hanging out pretending to be dead while Aria had some spider lines which were attached from the tips of her fingers to Jasmine and Shazza's limbs as both girls looked like they were a pair of puppets on marionet strings and Mario leaned his upper torso backwards with his left side facing the camera as he balanced a throwing knife on the tip of his nose by the knife's tip)
(The third photo was of the four apprentices, Cammy blew a kiss into the camera, Helen gave the camera the middle finger, Zak held up twin peace signs with his hands and T'Challa was balancing the top of his sword on his left, pointer finger like it was nothing)
(The fourth shot was Sly, Bentley, Murray, Zak and T'Challa doing some flexes, showing off their muscles or in Bentley's case what little muscles there was while Aria, Jasmine, Cammy and Neyla were in the background looking at them with a dreamy look and looked like they were fanning themselves with one of their hands, Neyla even had her tongue hanging out while Shazza was in the corner of the picture along with Helen with Shazza looking like she's rolling her eyes and Helen with her forehead in her palm)
(The fifth photo was that of Sly and Neyla embracing each other in a passionate kiss as Sly dipped her, Sly having his arms around her waist while she had her arms around his neck, both held the back of each other's heads pulling each other closer and deepening their kiss and one of Neyla's legs was wrapped around his waist while Murray, Bentley and Zak made kissy faces in the background)
(The last photo was another silly one with Sly and Mario juggling a bunch of throwing knives, tossing them to each other in the background, tossing the knives to each other while Murray was doing his own juggling with colorful balls, Bentley did the Egyptian, Neyla acted and even looked like she was VERY drunk, Jasmine, Aria and Cammy were doing "Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" with Jasmine covering her ears with her hands, Aria covering her eyes with her hands and Cammy covering her mouth with her hands, Shazza looked at the camera whilst holding an L for loser with her right hand on her forehead and her tongue sticking, Helen had one of the Kangaroo guards hats on with a toothpick in her mouth as she struck a pose where she is slightly lifting up her hat with the end of her Desert eagle to give a grin, T'Challa had one of Sly's arrows held behind his head and his face with the way it looked makes you think he was dead, Zak threw up "Hang loose" signs with both hands while giving a wink to the camera and Guru tried his own version of Bentley's smile from photo number one finally getting into the fun)
"Oh boy, that Cooper is a character" Nick said with a humorous smirk
"He's…well, he's sure SOMETHING, when I get my HANDS on me" Carmelita muttered before she remembered what Sly told her while he was and without being possesses by the Mask of dark earth
*Am I REALLY that black and white* Carmelita asked in her head, Nick then noticed Carmelita's gears turning
"Something wrong" Nick asked, Carmelita paused
"Do you…do you think I'm what Sly says I am" Carmelita asked, Nick then sat on her deck
"Can I speak my mind" Nick asked
"Of course, why do you ask" Carmelita asked
"Because, um…no offence, Carm but in the past you've been known for threatening people with the shock pistol when they speak their minds" Nick answered
"Since when" Carmelita asked
"How about that time when someone complimented that your new jeans made your ass look fat" Nick asked
"Well, okay but" Carmelita was about to say
"Or when you and me went on that little beach vacation and you pulled out the shock pistol at a bunch of guys giving you wolf whistles in your bikini" Nick said
"Hey, they needed to keep their hormones in check" Carmelita said
"Carm, they were collage students, kids, they're young" Nick said
"And stupid" Carmelita said
"That's what being young means, learning how to be mature and there's also that time when that weasel newbie tried to peek on you while you were showering…more than a handful of time" Nick said
"Hey, he DESERVED it" Carmelita said
"Which is why I filed a restraining order on the guy myself but at any rate, I just don't want you to shoot me when I tell you what I think of what Sly told you" Nick said
"Nick…be honest with me, please, I promise I won't shoot you" Carmelita said
"Well…your dedicated to your work, more than any cop that I've ever seen in my life, but…when it comes to catching Sly…your…how should I put this" Nick tried to say
"Well, spit it out" Carmelita said
"Obsessed" Nick said
"O-obsessed" Carmelita asked
"Carm, I can't deny that what he's doing is wrong and as the law we need to bring him in to answer for his crimes, but completely ignoring the troubles of the people around us and focusing ONLY on him is selfish, besides even YOU have to admit one thing about him, he's a GOOD man, after all he's the man Neyla loves" Nick said
"Well…I suppose so, but that doesn't excuse his actions" Carmelita said
"I didn't say that, but you can't deny that the guy isn't like other criminals" Nick said before he took Carmelita's hands in his own
"All I'm saying Carm is that we should at LEAST know all sides of the situations that he's involved in, you know, both sides of the story, the sacred sights of the Australian people would have been destroyed beyond repair if not for Sly and his gang, because of them Venice's tar problem is gone for good, spice operations from the Klaww gang are nothing but a memory now and so on" Nick said, Carmelita didn't know how to answer that, she had to admit, he was getting things done just…from another perspective
"Are you saying vigilantism is legal" Carmelita asked
"Ask Robin Hood" Nick replied
"You know that's just a book, it isn't real" Carmelita said
"But it proves that sometimes you must do questionable things for the greater good, like how back in the day people who didn't want to kill people in war were drafted and forced to, not just for survival but for their country, they didn't want to take a life, but for the sake of preserving not just their freedom but the freedoms of those they love and their home country, they had to" Nick said
"And this relates to Sly HOW" Carmelita asked
"He and his crew can go where the law can't and do what policemen and women can't…just, keep what I said in mind next time we go after him, alright" Nick asked before he kissed her forehead before walking to the door
"And think of what you want for dinner tonight, I'm cooking" Nick said before he left Carmelita in her thoughts at what Nick told her
And that's it, I know this chapter wasn't NEARLY as long as the last two, but it's a nice filler episode as to what happened between chapters 2 and 3 of the Sly Cooper 3 cannon, don't ya think?
Now I hope our all ready to strap on your helmets and take to the skies because we're heading to Holland next to recruit our next member (You know, the one everyone loves to hate to love)
