Disclaimer: I don't own anything of either franchise (except for cute mini figurines and Pops), and any likeness to people, places, living things, published professional works or other fanfics is totally not intended. Shoot me a private message if it comes too close (I have read so many but only vague concepts stick, nothing more.)
Author's Note: Hi everyone, this is my first story in a very long time. FF mods wouldn't even get back to me about accessing my old account - see profile if you care - so posting here. Bear with me, as I haven't written in over a decade. And I'm currently going through an existential crisis.
Micro-chapters. Very rough. Canon-divergent. Formatting may change over time. Pretty sure I wrote with typical double quotation marks as speaking, single are thoughts and italicized are emphasis. A day late, but this is in honor of National Superhero Day, April 28th, here in the USA.
Dedicated to Brian. Avid anime and manga lover, artist, fellow ornithophile, encourager of my love for Shoto and Toya. You will be missed.
Pairing: TBD, but for now it'll be like this crazy Kagome x Reverse Harem.
Rating: T but may be upped later on.
Genre: Drama/Adventure for now.

Snippet 1 – Our Cliched Beginning of the End
As the Bone Eater's Well collapsed beneath and behind her, Kagome Higurashi, age fifteen and a half, heaved an exhaustive sigh. Naraku's feelings still reverberated in her bones and made the layer under her skin itch something fierce. Even though InuYasha had managed to save her from eternal suffering in the jewel and her wish should have been neutral, being spit onto the ground of the dank wellhouse with a gaping hole behind her, was definitely not expected.
When she pushed her bruised and scratched body up the stairs and shoved the door along its track, she also didn't expect to see Souta frantically hopping from foot to foot with a panicked look on his face, bright morning sun glaring down on his dark hair and the crisp mid-Spring wind tossing some green leaves into the air.
"Nee-chan!" He gasped, spinning on his heel to face the wellhouse door.
"Souta, what's going on?"
"You – the giant centipede lady thing – it – Buyo - the well!"
She canted her head to the right, a now-typical response when her little brother stopped making sense. It couldn't possibly be what she thought he was hinting at. No way. Before Kagome could voice her theory, a pulse erupted from the wellhouse, rings of pearlescent energy coalescing around her and pulsing again, before sweeping out against Souta and through the shrine grounds. For one second, it looked like the tint to the sky had gained a pink sheen.
Souta paused, staring at her, brows furrowing.
"What are you wearing, Nee-chan?"
The fluffy white clouds continued to float above, the leaves and twigs skittered. Kagome sucked in a breath, eyes wide.
"Souta… is today my birthday?"

A/N: TBC. Also, I'm calling each a "snippet" - they are not drabbles. And there's no way in hell I can write an acceptable chapter. If you've ever read Dan Brown's books, think somewhere along those lines. And again, constructive criticism only, I will not accept cruel comments, aka senseless flames. I didn't a decade ago, and I will not now. I will still put you in place with a written lashing if you deserve it. That being said, you're welcome to try.
I do have several Snippets typed up already (up to 6), but later updates will be SLOW. Because of the earlier-mentioned existential crisis, loss of my friend, as well as OCD and ADD.
Please review! Follows also will help me gauge reception.
