I'll be going slow with this story as I don't want a repeat with my other ones I've deleted. Flapjack, please see me towards the end of this story. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Two

"I can't believe it!" said the Shadow Child, spinning Danielle while hugging her. "I waited so long!"

"What's going on?" thought Danielle, staring at the Shadow Child. "This dream… has gotten… weirder."

"Hehehe," said the Shadow Child, pulling away before gaining a serious look. "You lied! You promised you'd play with me! Why didn't you come back?"

"Huh? Wait… hold on," said Danielle, staring back at the Shadow Child. "I think you got the wrong person. I'm not this Pretty Lady you're talking about."

"Of course, you are!" said the Shadow Child, moving about Danielle. "Same magic, same voice, same appearance even though you're…"

"But I just got here to the isles today," said Danielle, watching the Shadow Child move around her before stopping right in front of her. "Hours ago, in the afternoon or was it morning… I think."

"That can't be," said the Shadow Child, crossing his arms over his chest. "I remember seeing you during the Deadwardian Era, the day Philip found me."

"Deadwardian…?" said Danielle, confused and rubbing her forehead. "This dream has gotten even more weirder."

"Not a dream," said the Shadow Child, confusing Danielle more. "Out of body experience."

"Huh…" said Danielle, staring back at the Shadow Child. "Out of… ugh, crazy day to crazy night."

"Now that I think about it," said Shadow Child, looking more closely at Danielle then grabbing and looking at her left wrist. "Your magic is not as big as Pretty Lady. It's growing but not as big. And you don't have a big nasty scar here where Philip stomped on it."

"How can you tell this is an out of body experience?" asked Danielle, staring around the place.

"Right there over your heart," said the Shadow Child, pointing to Danielle's heart. "There's a silver cord. It's what connects the soul or spirit, whatever you want to call it, to its earthly vessel or body if you want to call it that."

"Silver cord?" said Danielle, feeling around the area before seeing it wrap around her fingers. "Okay, I see it. Am I supposed to look like this?"

"I should be actually seeing you," replied the Shadow Child, moving about Danielle again. "This may be an oddity I haven't read about yet."

"That's okay," said Danielle, still looking at her silver cord before staring at the Shadow Child. "So, this place…"

"The space in between," replied the Shadow Child, confusing Danielle more. "In between a lot of places actually."

"I'm just going to call this place The Crossroads," said Danielle, massaging her forehead. "And you… you are?"

"I'm the Collector," replied the Shadow Child, before pointing at the giant sphere. "That's my actual body in there."

"Collezionista?" said Danielle, before the last part of what Collector said hit her. "Il tuo corpo? Perché è lì dentro? Chi ti ha fatto questo?"

"I was sealed in here by the Titan," replied Collector, folding his arms over his chest and huffing. "Big bully!"

"Titano... sigillato... perché?" said Danielle, before realizing Collector's responses. "Tu... puoi capirmi?"

"Of course, I can understand you," replied Collector, before answering her other question. "He thought I was the bad guy."

"Okay, let's change the subject," said Danielle, seeing that her questions were upsetting Collector. "Is that really your name… Collector, that is?"

"No," replied Collector, facing towards Danielle. "My kind is not allowed to give our actual names to mortals. Not like knowing it will control us. I haven't even told Philip. What's yours?"

"My name is Danielle," replied Danielle, giving Collector a warm smile. "So, collector is more of a title or rank?"

"Yup," replied Collector, sitting Indian style and staring at Danielle. "Not like I wanted it."

"Okay, I got to get off subjects that upset you," said Danielle, trying to think of something else, Collector just staring at her. "Is there a way to get you out of here?"

"Definitely!" replied Collector, raising his arms up in excitement. "An actual living titan or titan's blood. Wait… are you trying to help me?"

"No one deserves to be sealed," said Danielle, staring at the sphere then back at Collector. "You look like such a sweet child. So… titan… is that some kind of race in this realm?"

"They're semi-immortals of this realm," replied Collector, very excited. "They're so cute when they're little. When they're full grown, they are more POWERFUL than anyone!"

"Wow, they sound like an interesting race," said Danielle, trying to sit Indian style only to float out of place. "This floating is not easy. Back when you heard me speaking Italian, you understood me."

"My kind knows a lot of languages. Have to for whenever we descend to any mortal realm and talk with its denizens," said Collector, seeing that Danielle was struggling with sitting while floating. "Hehehe, think of it like you're swimming."

"Huh… oh, you're talking about the floating," said Danielle, taking Collector's advice. "Che imbarazzo. Okay, I think I got it. Where do I find this Titan or Titan's blood?"

"All but one titan is left and I don't know where that big bully placed his egg. I don't even know if it's hatched yet or not," said Collector, twirling upside down. "As for the Titan's blood, you'll have to mine in the isles veins for it."

"The isles veins?" said Danielle, confused and a little disgusted.

"Uh yeah, the isles are the big bully that sealed me," said Collector, shifting his shape to resemble the isles. "Even when they're bodies no longer function and became one with the land, they're heart still beats."

"So… the isles… Titan…" said Danielle, getting creeped out by each word. "Sto camminando sul cadavere di un Titano!? Ooooh, lordo lordo!"

"Oh yeah, he's still alive somewhat," said Collector, floating upside down. "Got to make sure when mining for titan's blood that it's not decayed, that's fool's blood. It's lost its potency and can't be used to free me."

"Okay, fool's blood bad," said Danielle, still grossed out by knowing she's been walking on a still somewhat alive titan. "How do I tell the difference?"

"Titan's blood is blue while fool's blood is darker in color," said Collector, staring at Danielle. "Fool's blood is also solid and usually found in bubbly piles."

"Okay, got it," said Danielle, before wondering what an actual titan looked like. "And a titan, what does it look like should I somehow see this last titan?"

"Fuzzy!" said Collector, in excitement and playfully spreading his arms and legs out. "And cute!"

"Hahaha! Fuzzy and cute…" said Danielle, before tickling Collector. "I need more than just fuzzy and cute."

"Hahahaha, stop…hahaha, that tickles… hahaha, that tickles?" said Collector, pulling away and looking at Danielle. "How'd you do that?"

"Uh, with my hands and fingers," replied Danielle, flexing her fingers in confusion.

"You shouldn't have been able to do that while I'm like this," said Collector, pointing at his shadow body. "No one can touch this form, not even those spirits that hang around Philip on occasions."

"Huh… I don't know how I did it," said Danielle, staring at her hands. "I just did…"

"Huh… how odd…" said Collector, staring at Danielle in confusion before going back to speaking about titans. "The last titan will be young, so fuzzy and cute. The most recognizable part about a titan is their horned skull head."

"Skull… horned…" said Danielle, the descriptions making her think of King. "Head…"

"Yup," said Collector, before looking towards a unique stone slab nearby before looking back at Danielle. "It's really interesting that you're here. No one can get here whether they're physical or out of their body like you are."

"Will I be able to get back to my body?" asked Danielle, feeling a coldness in the direction where Collector was looking.

"Sure," replied Collector, pointing at Danielle's silver cord. "Your silver cord will pull you back when your body starts to stir awake."

"That's good to know," said Danielle, sighing in relief.

"Since you're here and everything," said Collector, leaning towards Danielle. "Want to play a game? I can give you powerful spells… or… or forbidden knowledge!"

"Whoa there," said Danielle, pulling Collector into a rightful position. "You don't need to give me powerful spells or forbidden knowledge to get me to play with you. Where'd you get such an idea?"

"Philip," replied Collector, staring at Danielle. "There were times when he wouldn't play unless he learned something new from me. He definitely stopped for a bit when I called him Pip. Said that only one person was allowed to call him that."

"That name was probably very meaningful to him," said Danielle, rubbing the charms on her necklace, the only thing on her person since arriving there. "Is there a name that your parents called you that is very special to you that you don't want anyone else to call you?"

"Yeah," replied Collector, thinking of a certain someone. "My mother to be exact… I see what you mean."

"Okay… games," said Danielle, trying to think of some. "I don't know many where its just two people unless they're video games."

"Video games?" said Collector, confused and staring at Danielle. "What's that?"

"Oh, okay…how to describe…" said Danielle, thinking before explaining it best she can. "A video game is an interactive digital entertainment that you play via a computer, a game console or phone."

"Huh…" said Collector, not following what Danielle was saying before a cube floated in between them.

"Okay, that didn't work," said Danielle, trying to think of a different explanation before looking at the cube. "Think of it like this. This cube projects a story on it with various plots and characters to that you can choose from."

"Okay…" said Collector, following her explanation this time. "Then how do I control them?"

"With a controller that can link up with the cube. The controller has various buttons that allow different actions from walking and running to jumping and slashing" said Danielle, showing the hand gestures from the multiple games she'd played. "Every video game is neat in their own way. Some are fun and some are hard."

"I think I'm getting it," said Collector, staring at Danielle.

"I don't know if the Boiling Isles has them," said Danielle, staring back at Collector. "But Earth does. There are a variety of video games. Action, adventure, romance."

"Ew, lordo," said Collector, sticking out his tongue. "Romanza."

"Hehehe," giggled Danielle, before pulling Collector close to her into a hug, her head laying on his head and him looking up at her. "I'll show you when I get you out. I think you'll like the games I have. I just have to see if there are any in my bag back at the owl house."

"Okay," said Collector, leaning into the hug. "Mmmm, you give really good hugs."

"Grazie," said Danielle, before looking in the same direction from earlier. "What's over there?"

"Oh, that's easy," aid Collector, grabbing Danielle's hand and leading her over to a strange looking circular tablet with a crescent moon design. "This tablet."

"What's it do?" asked Danielle, fascinated yet also creeped out by looking at the tablet. "Can't just be decoration."

"I can talk to Philip from here whenever," replied Collector, hovering over the tablet. "I can also leave this place like this but I can only go so far before getting yanked back."

"Anything else?" asked Danielle, seeing a darkness creep along the edges. "Huh…"

"It's the only way for me to leave this place completely," replied Collector, before placing his hand over the tablet. "A titan has to pull me out like so or someone with titan's blood as well. Philip promised me he'd set me free. He pinky swore."

"Pinky swore… I hope he's the type to keep his promises," said Danielle, deeply sighing. "There are people out there that do break their promises."

"What about you?" asked Collector, facing Danielle. "Do you keep your promises?"

"I try to," replied Danielle, rubbing the top of Collector's head. "And if I don't, I try to make up for it. I promised my twin sister one time that I would sew her teddy bear before bedtime since mamma was sick but I got a little distracted cooking dinner for the night. I made up for it making her favorite frittata the coming morning and had her teddy bear sewed up and ready for that night. She was happy in the end and thanked me."

"Huh…" said Collector, tilting his head in thought before looking at Danielle. "Do you two get along?"

"We get along just fine," said Danielle, thinking of her sister. "But there are times we do get into fits but by the end of the day, we still love each other and wouldn't trade it for the world."

"Mmmhmmm…" hummed Collector, thinking of his siblings.

"You said I had magic earlier," said Danielle, thinking back to when Collector first mentioned.

"Yup," replied Collector, staring at Danielle while flipping upside down again. "It's bigger than most people on the isles I've felt. Though it looks like it just broke through… like there was a lock on it."

"Huh… interesting," said Danielle, while thinking back to what Eda said. "I was just told by Miss Eda that humans can't learn magic."

"Pffft… humans can," said Collector, sitting Indian style while spinning around. "It just depends on which human realm you're from. Some human realms do, some don't. You must come from one where magic does exist."

"Actually no," said Danielle, confusing Collector. "The only way I knew about magic was from fictional works like books, animes and video games."

"Seriously, that's odd," said Collector, staring Danielle up and down. "But you can use it."

"That's good to know…" said Danielle, before feeling a pull from her silver cord. "Huh…"

"You must be waking up," said Collector, seeing the silver cord tug Danielle. "We didn't even get to play."

"Don't worry," said Danielle, pulling Collector into a hug. "The next out of body I have, we will. Don't know when it will happen but we'll play, 'kay. I'll even try and see if I can find one of those two things you need to leave this awful place. It may take a while though, think you can hold out till I find it."

"Okay…" said Collector, before holding out his right pinky finger. "Pinky swear?"

"If it will make you feel better," said Danielle, interlocking her left pinky finger with his and shaking it up and down. "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye. Prometto."

"I love it!" said Collector, hugging Danielle and laughing. "I've never heard a pinky swear like that. Nor do I know what a cupcake is but I love it!"

"I'll make a cupcake for you then when you get out," said Danielle, putting her forehead up against Collector's forehead. "Prometto."

"Prometto," said Collector, seeing Danielle leave before the darkness around the edge of the tablet creeped around him, his eyes flashing scarlet momentarily. "Play… I want to play…"

"Ow… Figlio di put…" said Danielle, reappearing while covering her forehead with her hands before clasping them over her mouth. "I mean…"

"You're back… so soon…" said Collector, regaining his sense when seeing Danielle reappear before seeing a red mark on her forehead. "What happened?"

"I slammed my head into a magic barrier," said Danielle, whining from the pain. "Quanto è cattivo?"

"That had to hurt," said Collector, floating closer and getting a better look. "Been there, don't want to do it again. It's not as bad as it could be, you'll just have a bad headache for a while."

"I know…" said Danielle, rubbing her forehead. "Looks like you got me for a while longer… ow…what do you want to play?"

"Um… actually…" said Collector, spreading his arms out. "I would like another hug. They just feel so nice and warm… like a… I don't know…"

"Of course, come here," said Danielle, pulling Collector into a hug. "Better?"

"Yes…" said Collector, leaning more into the hug while thinking. "Her hugs… they just… I never felt so safe."
