I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC and any other OC's that will appear in the story. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.
Chapter Eleven
It was a nice quiet morning in the owl house. Eda was teaching the girls how to play a certain card game native to the demon realm. Eda's opponent was… Owlbert! Shuffling the cards in hand, Eda stares at Owlbert mischievously. Owlbert stares back as well though Danielle thought it was mostly cute and giggled.
"Watch closely, Luz and Danielle. Hexes Hold'em is the most tricky game on the Boiling Isles," said Eda, showing the cards in her hand to the girls. "Any proper witch knows how to play."
"Oh boy, cards!" said Luz, staring at the cards on the coffee table. "The paper rectangles that old people think are fun!"
"I've played a few card games before with my sisters and cousins on occasions," said Danielle, eyeing the cards. "Gin rummy, go fish, old maid, uno, scopa. Ru-chan taught me how to play koi-koi."
"Wow," said Luz, staring at Danielle. "You know quite a bit."
"Yeah," said Danielle, deeply sighing. "Though I haven't really played much since my big sister left and got married. Wish she'd come back to Delaware."
"Wait, you're from Delaware," said Luz, staring at Danielle. "Then how'd you end up here?"
"I think the way we came here were vastly different," said Danielle, leaning on the coffee table. "I really don't remember how I got here. My mind's a blank."
"That can't be good," said Luz, staring at Danielle.
"Though that quiche you made this morning was," said King, licking his lips. "So good!"
"All right," said Eda, staring at the girls. "Back to the game."
Eda puts a card down on the table. Lightning comes from the cards, sending Owlbert flying for cover behind the side of the table and Danielle sliding back some. The cards all stand and roar. Owlbert's cards surge forward and attack Eda's cards, making Owlbert smirk.
"Now when it looks like the deck is stacked against you, that's when you break out the wildcard," said Eda, holding up a certain card which glowed green and destroyed Owlbert's cards in a flash.
"Come here you," said Danielle, petting Owlbert after his loss. "You like this, don'tcha."
"Yes," said Owlbert, cooing and enjoying the chin scratches, Danielle being able to hear his voice since day one. "More scratches."
"Of course," replied Danielle, scratching near his wing.
"Woo, I win! In your adorable owl face," said Eda, pointing at Owlbert then feeling a fluffy sensation. "Ah, I love the feeling of victory, it feels... fluffy?"
"Uh, Eda…" said Danielle, staring at Eda while stopping her petting of Owlbert.
"Uh, Eda?" said Luz, pointing at the feathers growing on Eda. "It's happening again!"
"What's happening again?" asked Eda, staring at the three.
"Your curse is returning!" said King, pointing at the feathers on Eda's arms.
"Aah," yelped Eda, seeing the feathers and running upstairs to her room with the girls and King following behind her.
"Right here, right?" asked Danielle, opening a chest and seeing empty potion bottles. "That can't be good."
"Oh, boy," said Eda, grabbing an empty potion bottle. "This is terrible. I'm out of elixir."
"Uh, last time this happened, you turned into this thing," said Luz, showing the picture of the Owl Beast on her cellphone.
"I don't need another night like that," said Danielle, cringing on the memory.
"I know I should be repulsed, but that look is fierce," said Eda, liking the look of herself as the Owl Beast.
"Eda!" said the girls, concerned.
"You're right, you're right. We need to head to the market," said Eda, before remembering something and looking at Danielle. "You know, I've been noticing you talking to Owlbert since day one. You can hear his voice, can't you?"
"Yup," said Danielle, staring at Eda. "Is that a bad thing?"
"It's usually the palisman's owner that can hear them by bonding with them," said Eda, staring at Danielle. "But it seems like you can hear Owlbert like its an everyday occurrence. Care to explain?"
"I really don't know," replied Danielle, scratching underneath Owlbert's beak. "I just chalk it up to what normally happens back home."
"What do you mean?" asked Luz, staring at Danielle.
"I've been able to hear animals and insects talk to me since I was a baby. They usually like to flock to me," said Danielle, while Owlbert begins to nuzzle her. "Same thing with plant life, though it sounds different."
"Hmm, you must be one special human," said Eda, staring at Danielle. "To be born with such an ability."
"I'm not that special," whispered Danielle, staring at the floor.
"All right then," said Luz, standing up and walking to the door. "Market!"
"I'm stealing everything that's not nailed down!" said King, following after Luz.
"Thou shall not steal!" said Danielle, getting up and walking after King.
"Before we go, would anyone like to play one more hand of Hexes Hold'em?" asked Eda, feeling for her cards only to not find them. "Hey, where are my cards?"
"Take these and fly ahead," said Luz, handing the card deck to Owlbert flying nearby. "She'll have to follow us."
"Owlbert, you sore loser, gimme back my cards!" said Eda, running after Owlbert as he flies out of the room.
"That's one way to get her moving," said Danielle, walking out the room with Luz and King.
After chasing Owlbert for so long, Eda finally snatches the card deck and pockets it. Staring around, Eda notices she's in Bonesborough. The girls and King walk up behind her with Danielle holding a deep red hooded cloak with an owl shaped clasp that she gives to Eda. Seeing that she was bamboozled, Eda puts the cloak on before heading to the store that stocks up on the elixir that she needs. Banging on a metal grate to the store called Mr. Elixir, Eda calls out for the apothecarist that works there.
"Hey, open up, Morton!" said Eda, trying to get the apothecarist's attention.
"Uh, ju-just a minute!" said a male voice, in the back of the store.
"Is there anything better than people watching in the Demon Realm?" said Luz, sitting on a nearby bench, King coming over and sitting with her.
"It's interesting," said Danielle, leaning against a building. "That's for sure."
Three witches are standing at a bus stop as a giant egg rolls up to it. The egg cracks, revealing a featherless bird that screeches. It flies away. The witches enter the egg, one of them closes it, and it rolls off as the Shorter Prisoner runs up.
"Wait, wait!" said the Shorter Prisoner, seeing her ride roll off and away. "Aw, dang it."
"We see her a lot," said Danielle, seeing the Shorter Prisoner staring at the ground. "Don't we?"
"Yup," replied Luz, staring at the Shorter Prisoner. "The curse of tiny legs."
"I know the pain," said King, understanding the feeling of tiny legs.
"What's going on?" asked Danielle, seeing a cart with a large demon tied down being pulled.
"Whoa, that is one ominous parade," said Luz, walking over to Eda, Danielle following her.
"That's no parade. Those are demon hunters," said Eda, staring as the demon hunters wrangle the large demon back into place. "Dangerous nomads who capture and sell the most powerful beasts."
"In other words… poachers," said Danielle, seeing one demon hunter with an eye patch shock the large demon with green lightning. "Poor thing."
"Which I'm about to become if you don't open up, Morton!" shouted Eda, banging on the metal grate again.
"Sorry, Eda!" said Morton, lifting the metal grate up and staring at Eda while holding his stomach. "I was up all night poison tasting and for some reason, I don't feel great."
Turns out, Morton was a lanky, young man with light skin, light brown eyes, and thick brown hair almost reaching his shoulders and had pointy ears. Attire was of a mint green, long-sleeved top with fingerless gloves. On top of his shirt, he wears a long, brown overlay dress, with a dark brown belt and a frog necklace. Also wore a gray funnel hat.
"Are you going to be okay?" asked Danielle, staring at Morton.
"More or less," replied Morton, seeing a certain someone across the street and blushing.
"I'm all outta my juice, pal," said Eda, handing an empty potion bottle to Morton.
"Oh, gee," said Morton, grabbing the empty potion bottle. "Lemme see what I can do."
Rummaging around in the back, Morton tries and looks for what Eda needs. Watching the demon hunters, the girls notice Willow and Gus nearby looking dejected. Walking over, the girls go see what's wrong with them.
"Willow and Gus!" shouted Luz, running over. "Heya, friends! Wait, what's wrong? Who hurt my babies?"
"Them," said Willow, pointing to a group of Hexside students, Amity being one of them. "Amity's having a moonlight conjuring and invited everyone but me."
"And she keeps posting about it on her Penstagram account," said Gus, summoning a small purple scroll and showing Amity's penstagram account.
"Moonlight conjuring?" said Danielle, tilting her head confused.
"It's conjuring night! No dorks allowed? What a jerk!" said Luz, reading the post and scowling. "Also I agree with Danielle, what's a moonlight conjuring?"
"You spend the night at someone's house, telling stories, playing games...," replied Willow, naming a few things done at a moonlight conjuring.
"Like a slumber party!" said Luz, excited. "We have those!"
"Slumber party…" thought Danielle, a horrified expression on her face and silently gasping.
"Then you bring something to life with moon magic!" said Willow, pulling out a book depicting a moonlight conjuring.
"Uuuuh…" thought Danielle, not liking the bring to life part of the conjuring. "Not happening."
"Like a weird slumber party!" said Luz, still excited.
"Gus and I have never been to one," said Willow, pointing at the picture. "You need at least three people and…"
"I'm three people…" said Luz, before correcting herself. "I mean, we're three people, and we're way better than them!"
"Three?" said Danielle, rubbing her arm and rubbing her foot with the other. "What about four?"
"Just because it says three doesn't really mean it," said Willow, closing the book. "There can be a few more people."
"That's good I guess," said Danielle, before staring at the ground.
"Danielle…" asked Willow, staring at Danielle. "Are you okay?"
"Sto bene..." said Danielle, rubbing her arm more and staring away from the group. "Veramente, sto bene."
"Okay…?" said Willow, not understanding what Danielle was saying but seeing that she was not okay. "You sure?"
"Per favore, ferma Willow. Starò bene," said Danielle, sighing before seeing the group of Hexside students and Amity walk by.
"Sorry you couldn't get an invite to the conjuring, Willow," said a Hexside Potion Student, laughing with the group before looking at Amity. "Only real witches allowed."
"Leave her alone," said Amity, sighing. "It's not her fault she was born without talent."
"Bullo," thought Danielle, seeing the group plus Amity walk away. "I think Amity is coming around. A little that is."
"Whoa," said Luz, slapping away a vine that Willow produced when she got slightly angry before hugging her. "Don't waste your time getting thorny over them. 'Cause we're gonna have our own moonlight conjuring."
"Are you serious? This was on my bucket list," said Gus, taking out a list and checking off the moonlight conjuring. "After owning a real human bucket!"
"That's a really weird thing to want, but I appreciate your enthusiasm," said Luz, before running towards Eda. "I'll go tell Eda."
Back at the Mr. Elixir store, Morton popped his head out from underneath the counter. Though Morton had mostly bad news to tell Eda. The girls had started walking over back to Eda though Danielle saw a young lady around Morton's age taking her time and walking over to the store.
"I've got bad news and good news. Bad news is I'm all out 'till next week," said Morton, hiding behind the counter. "Good news is feathers are a good look for you."
"Morton!" shouted Eda, some more feathers popping out and getting a little testy.
"Well gee, E," said Morton, coming out of his hiding spot. "Why'd you wait to re-up 'till now?"
"I've been very busy," replied Eda, staring off to the side.
"Yeah, busy playing Hexes Hold'em," said King, still sitting on the bench before pointing at Eda. "She's obsessed with it."
"I am not obsessed!" said Eda, staring at King.
"You're playing it right now!" said King, seeing Eda place the cards down on the counter.
"Am I winning?" said Eda, cards in hand and smiling.
"You know, I wouldn't suggest this to just anybody, but if you need your elixir you could try your luck later this evening," said Morton, eyeing Eda.
"In the night market?" said Eda, realization dawning on her.
"There's a guy with a stand, goes by Grimm Hammer; if anyone has what you need, it's him," said Morton, giving Eda information on how to obtain more elixir.
"Hey Morton," said Danielle, walking up with Luz and the young lady from before behind them. "You have a visitor."
"Hi-Hi-Hi Poe," said Morton, grinning and going googly eyed upon seeing the young lady. "How ya doing?
Poe was a young lady around Morton's age. Midback length blonde hair pulled into pigtails and blunt bangs, light skin, and light blue eyes. Wore a green shirt with orange polka dots and the collar and waist area also being orange as well, blue pants with a black band making the top part look puffy and brown boots. Had an offwhite kerchief tied around her head. Had a brown shawl with a lighter brown design on the hem and a design on the back over her shoulders. Had a birthmark near her nose and had red lipstick. Had a yellow sack tied around her waist with a thin rope.
"Hi Morton," said Poe, smiling at Morton.
"Not feeling good," said Eda, staring at Morton. "Yeah right."
"I-I-I made some gourdbeast egg soup for you," said Poe, pulling out a bottle of some orange soup from her sack and handing it to Morton. "I heard you weren't feeling so good, so I thought…"
"Alright," said Eda, pushing the girls away from the store. "Let's leave these lovebirds alone, yeesh."
"Eda, Gus, Willow and Danielle and I are gonna do a moonlight conjuring and stick it to Amity," said Luz, looking at Eda after she pushed them far away from the Mr. Elixir store. "So can we…"
"Not tonight, I'm going out," said Eda, holding up her hand and walking away. "I need you two to watch the house, I have many precious objects in there."
"Like me!" said King, before being picked up by the scruff by Eda. "Whoa!"
"You're coming with me. I need an extra pair of eyes looking out for pickpockets," said Eda, staring at King then the girls. "And an extra pair of hands in case I want to pickpocket."
"Seriously?" said Danielle, not liking that those two were about to pickpocket.
"Pickpocket!" said King and Eda, smiling
"Then, maybe they can come to the house and…" said Luz, gesturing to Willow and Gus nearby before looking at Eda.
"No! Besides, conjurings are dumb, sitting in a circle holding hands," said Eda, waving King about before walking away. "Pft. It's like magic for babies."
"But…" said Luz, staring at Eda.
"Maybe we shouldn't press this," said Danielle, staring at Luz. "That is her house."
"Luz! Danielle!" said Willow, running up to the girls alongside Gus. "What did Eda say?"
"So... guys..." said Luz, staring to the side.
"Oh, look!" said Gus, pointing towards the rising moon. "The moon is rising into place. And the celestial powers only align once a year."
"Oh, I can't believe I finally have enough friends for a moonlight conjuring! Thank you, Luz! Thank you, Danielle!" said Willow, staring at the girls. "Did Eda say it was okay?"
"Um…" said Danielle, staring at Willow and Gus before thinking. "They're really looking forward to this."
"Uhm... yes. She said yes. We can do it at the Owl House," said Luz, nervously pumping her arm up and down. "As long as we don't make a mess or touch anything and never bring up that we did it!"
"Yes!" cheered Gus, smiling and raising his arms into the air.
"Oh, you're the best!" said Willow, staring at the girls before singing alongside Gus. "We're gonna do a conjuring! We're gonna do a conjuring! Conjuring! Conjuring!"
The girls look up at the moon nervously. Later that night, the girls watch Eda get ready to leave. With hooded deep red cloak on, Eda stares at the girls.
"Danielle, you're in charge while I'm out," said Eda, staring at Danielle. "Make sure Hooty doesn't get into any trouble."
"Me?" said Danielle, looking nervous. "In charge?"
"Yes," said Eda, staring at Danielle. "You're in charge. Oddly, you seem the most mature out of the both of you."
"O-Okay," said Danielle, nervously. "I'm in charge… yeesh."
"Hoot hoot!" said Hooty, opening the door. "I don't need a babysitter. I'm a big boy house!"
"Oh, where's King?" asked Luz, wondering where King was.
"He's right here," said Eda, opening her cloak revealing King strapped to a pink baby carrier and snoring.
"Ooooh, carino," said Danielle, staring at King and petting him while singing. "Brilla Brilla una Stellina…"
"His little body just conks out when he's weightless," said Eda, moving side to side, King not waking as he moves like a ragdoll. "Look at this."
"Aww, he's so dangly," said Luz, playing with King's feet.
"Wow," said Danielle, staring at King sleeping. "He's really out."
"Anyway, really going now. And Luz, Danielle…" said Eda, heading out the door before staring at the girls. "If you mess up the house, I will never trust you again. No pressure! Byeeeeee!"
"Okay… um… Luz, I don't want to put a damper on this but…" said Danielle, staring at Luz. "I really don't want to lose Eda's trust here. I'm going to talk to Willow and Gus and hope they understand."
"No, no. Let me handle this," said Luz, staring at Danielle. "I'll explain it to Willow and Gus."
"Grazie Luz," said Danielle, going back inside. "I'm going to make us a light snack."
"Ay. Should I really be doing this? No, no, Willow is counting on you," said Luz, whispering to the nearby bush. "Okay, she's gone."
"Release!" said Willow, making the bushes glow before exploding the leaves away. "I'm a sneaky sneakster!"
"I've got leaves in my pants..." said Gus, smiling. "And I like it."
"Company! Hooray! Finally someone to listen to my stories! Okay, one time, a sparrow flew into my mouth, and then I…" said Hooty, beginning to tell a story only for Luz to led the two inside before closing the door. "Hey..."
"Welcome to, the living room," said Luz, showing Willow and Gus part of the house. "We call it that because it's technically living! The walls are breathing, look."
"Enchanting," said Willow, looking as the wall moves with each breath.
"And look at all these human treasures," said Gus, looking through a chest and finding a skull. "And actual humans!"
"We've got snacks, we've got weird music!" said Luz, picking up a bowl of eyeballs and turning on the gramophone.
"We've got a bucket!" said Gus, walking over with a bucket on his head.
"Gus, my man," said Luz, pointing at Gus.
"And best of all we have actual friends to do the conjuring with!" said Willow, smiling. "This is so exciting!"
"So how does this conjuring stuff work?" asked Luz, looking at Willow.
"Well first, we find an object to animate. Since it's our first time we should pick something meaningful," said Willow, staring at some flowers. "Something beautiful."
"Like this strangely buff little man?" said Gus, holding an action figure and tapping its chest setting off a recording.
"Yes!" said Luz, pointing at the action figure. "He's perfect!"
"That's not exactly what I meant by beautiful," said Willow, only to cave when seeing Gus whimper and look hurt. "Okay, buff boy it is."
"Yes!" said Luz, hugging Willow.
"Tonight he shall be risen!" said Gus, ecstatic.
"What's going on out here?" asked Danielle, walking out with a tray of pizza bagels before seeing Willow and Gus before walking over to Luz. "Luz, what's going on? I thought you said…"
"Don't worry Danielle," said Luz, her hands on Danielle shoulders. "We'll get this over and done with before Eda gets back. No worries."
"But I do worry," said Danielle, placing the tray down on the coffee table. "I have enough trust… I mean, I don't want to lose Eda's trust just like that. Please Luz."
"Um…" said Luz, staring at Danielle before Willow got their attention.
"We got everything in place," said Willow, showing several lit candles in a big circle with the action figure in the middle.
"Time to bring him to life!" said Gus, sitting down within the circle.
"Oh no," said Danielle, staring at the action figure in the center before remembering a certain show. "Slap happy."
"Huh?" said Luz, staring at Danielle.
"Luz," said Danielle, gripping Luz's shoulder and looking scared. "I don't want to do this. Please, talk to them."
"Come on," said Willow, grabbing the girls hands and pulling them into the circle. "Can't animate without you two."
"Here we go," said Gus, grabbing Danielle's left hand.
"Help me!" thought Danielle, silently praying.
"According to the conjuring books I've read, we say the incantation and make a connection with the doll," said Willow, holding hands with Luz and Danielle.
"Figurine," said Gus, correcting Willow.
"I don't want to connect with the doll," thought Danielle, silently crying. "He'll murder me!"
"Moonlight, we call, we sing. Moonlight take this chance," said Willow and Gus, starting the incantation. "Moonlight come tie the string. Moonlight start the dance!"
"Moonlight tie... string..." said Luz, trying to say the same words only to fall short. "And I don't know the words!"
The moon continues rising. Hooty looks up at it. The moon stops moving, and a burst of blue light comes out of it. A similar burst of blue light bursts out from between Willow, Luz, Danielle and Gus, spreading around the living room and extinguishing the candles. Danielle gasps, her eyes turning blue and passing out, startling the others.
"Danielle… Danielle!" shouted Luz, checking on Danielle. "What happened? Is this supposed to happen?"
"No," replied Willow, staring at Danielle. "It shouldn't."
"Danielle… Danielle!" said Luz, patting Danielle's cheek. "Wake up!"
The entire house rumbles. Hooty blinks, his eyes turning the same blue. Hooty makes ghostly noises. Birds fly away from the house while cawing. The foundation cracks as the owl house rises. The three kids scream as they lose their balance. The owl house stops rising, now standing on giant bird legs. The living room now is in disarray.
"Guys?" said Luz, a book falling on her head. "Did the entire house just hiccup?"
"Little buff guy, what did you do?" asked Gus, tapping the action figure setting off another recording.
"No, I think…" said Willow, looking around the house. "I think we might've animated the house by accident!"
"The house?" said Luz, before opening the door and nearly falling off the ledge, Willow and Gus joining her outside before the door slams shut behind them before the house starts to walk. "Hooty? Hooty! Hooty, you have to stop!"
"By the power of moonlight, I have risen," said Hooty, his stare blank.
"He's in some kind of trance!" said Gus, staring at Hooty.
"This is not good," said Luz, trying to open the door. "Danielle is in there by herself. And possibly in some trance too."
Meanwhile, in the house, Danielle lies on the floor, eyes still blue. Though while her body was there, Danielle herself was somewhere within her own mind. A night sky surrounds her with a white cloud like path. Shaking her head, Danielle looks around at the surroundings.
"Where…where am I?" said Danielle, before noticing a young girl a few feet away from her. "Who- who are you?"
"You should know actually who I am," said the Young Girl, staring at Danielle. "I'm you. Or more actually, who you really are."
Standing before Danielle was an exact copy of her but there were some differences. Her whole body was white and astral like. Her hair was white and her eyes were white as well. Star markings adorned the whole length of her arms and feet and were also across her face. The white symbol Danielle had found in her bag on her first day on the boiling isles, was on their forehead, glowing brightly. The attire was a simple sleeveless short white flowing dress.
"I don't understand," said Danielle, staring at the Young Girl. "How are you me?"
"More precisely, you're my current incarnation," said the Young Girl, holding her hand out. "The eight one, to be exact."
"The eight?" said Danielle, staring at the Young Girl.
"This would be a lot easier if you just awaken completely, but alas," said the Young Girl. "Your other lives will help with your training. You already know three of them."
"I do?" said Danielle, wondering who the Young Girl was talking about.
"You're making this a lot harder than it should," said the Young Girl, before holding out her hand. "Come here and let me show."
"No…no, no," said Danielle, backing away. "I feel like if I do, I won't be me anymore."
"Everything will go according to plan. The prophecy is self-writing," said the Young Girl, staring at Danielle. "No one shall interfere. Whether friend, foe, family, or allies, I'll attack any who will interfere with me claiming the Scarlet Eyes."
"Scarlet Eyes?" said Danielle, deeply inhaling before looking at the Young Girl. "Who is this Scarlet Eyes? 'Cause this isn't the first time I've heard of them."
"So naïve. You've already met," said the Young Girl, sighing before looking at Danielle. "I'm not making much headway with you right now. All will be explained eventually. Just know this, you will return to me, whether you want to or not."
"Back off! I don't want this!" shouted Danielle, before feeling a pull. "Whoa… whoa! Oomph!"
Groaning, Danielle lands someplace else but it felt like whenever she visited Aster, an out of body. Standing up, Danielle looks at her surroundings, a very large room. The walls were a light blue glittery marble with eccentric gold designs everywhere. The floor also sported the designs. White decorative pillars from floor to a very tall ceiling. The ceiling very much looked like the night sky. In the center of the room, was a large crystal, the bottom of the crystal very much looking like a blooming flower, that went from the floor to the ceiling. And in the center of the crystal, was a woman with her eyes closed and her hands clasped in prayer over her chest.
"Who is that?" said Danielle, walking closer to the crystal and looking at the woman. "She's beautiful."
"Please…" said a feminine voice, Danielle looking around before looking back at the woman. "Save my child…"
"Are you…" said Danielle, staring at the woman before the woman's spirit appeared before her. "Who…"
"My name is Mira," said the Woman, opening her eyes and staring at Danielle. "Please… I beg of you… Please save my darling son… My Aster…"
"Wait… you're…" said Danielle, staring at the woman. "Aster's mother."
Mira was a tall buxom woman of six feet. Had long knee length white hair that gradiented to looking like the galaxy from midback on down and was naturally wavy from that point as well. She had ivory skin, with half of her face being a light blue. She had azure eyes with her sclera being white. On her forehead, she had an eight-pointed star that was half light blue on the ivory side and half ivory on the light blue side. Curls of light blue adorned her arms with a crescent moon on her upper arms. Her sternum area had light blue swirls forming a heart with the bottom of the heart bearing a sun pattern. Her attire was a long flowing sleeveless glittery pale blue dress that slowly transited to a darker blue on down. Had a transparent white shawl with bell sleeves that hung off her shoulders and attached to the dress with a gold diamond clasp. Underneath her dress, she wore mid-calf barefooted white sandals with a blue star pattern that actually looked like jewelry, also had matching forearm length bracelets with a part wrapping around her middle fingers. Had light pink lipstick and matching nails.
"My son didn't ask for this," said Mira, tears forming in the corner of her eyes. "Scarlet Eyes took advantage of the moment and nestled within my son."
"Who or what is this Scarlet Eyes?" asked Danielle, staring at Mira.
"An ancient being as old as Light and Dark," replied Mira, wiping her tears away with her fingers. "Not governed by either. It just causes mischiefs."
"That… Aster," said Danielle, clenching her hand near her heart and wondering how to help Aster. "Is there any way to get Scarlet Eyes out of Aster?"
"None that I know of. Scarlet Eyes has always gone after our kind for some reason," said Mira, sighing. "The ones before Aster have always committed suicide when they found out it nestled within them."
"There has to be a way," said Danielle, clenching her fists and tears prickling the edges of her eyes. "There just has to be. Aster is such a sweet kid."
"I'm glad you think that," said Mira, lifting Danielle's face up. "Aster has not had an easy life. Not just being a Collector but of also being of royal birth."
"From what I remember when I first met Aster," said Danielle, twiddling her index fingers. "He didn't want to be one. A Collector, that is."
"Think of it like an organization among our kind," said Mira, magically showing an image that branched out. "Collector is the lowest rank. His half siblings are Archivists. My husband, a Grandmaster."
"And you…" asked Danielle, staring at Mira. "You are…"
"Never joined," said Mira, before thinking back to old memories of meeting her husband. "I fell in love and married Alnair but never joined. My magic would have been locked to their specifics. Turns out that the ritual wouldn't work on me. Melik was furious knowing he couldn't control me that way."
"Melik?" said Danielle, tilting her head. "Who's that?"
"My father-in-law," said Mira, remembering how much of a headache he was. "Softened up a little bit when I had Aster but he put a lot of pressure on my child."
"Aster…" said Danielle, looking sad before feeling the pull of going back to her body. "I-I-I'm waking up… but I-I…"
"Go," said Mira, softly rubbing the side of Danielle's cheek and smiling. "I don't believe this will be our last meeting. Keep growing in strength. Watch over my Aster. Keep him safe."
"But…" said Danielle, the pull being too strong and pulling her back, watching Mira fade in the distance. "Mira!"
"My beloved Aster. Please keep him safe," said Mira, her voice still being heard by Danielle. "Lady Light."
As Danielle was within her mind then having an out of body, Luz and Willow and Gus were taking to get back inside before something made them forget what they were doing before taking the owl house on a joyride. As for Eda and King, they finally arrived at the night market. Looking around, Eda groans as more feathers sprout on her arms.
"The curse. I need that elixir. Quick," said Eda, covering the feathers before spotting a demon sitting next to a crate before walking over. "Hey, you. You know where I can find a Grimm Hammer?"
A littler demon pops out of its eye, pointing to a nearby stand. Walking over, Eda pushes the curtains to the side.
"Hello?" said Eda, peering inside the stand. "Uh, I seek the one they call Grimm Hammer."
"I'm the one they call Grimm Hammer," said the owner, ominously speaking before the curtain rises and the owner jumps out onto the counter before speaking normally. "Welcome, welcome, welcome. I've got weaponry from the Hinterlands, curses from the Winterlands, and jelly beans."
"Jellybeans!" said King, grabbing some of the jellybeans that were tossed.
"They're lethally delicious," said the owner, only to see Eda smack the jellybeans out of King's paws.
"You are Grimm Hammer?" asked Eda, staring at the stand's owner.
"Tibblet-Tibblie Grimm Hammer the Third," said the owner, introducing himself. "Please, call me Tibbles."
Tibblet-Tibblie Grimm Hammer the Third or Tibbles for short, is a yellowish pig like demon with a curly red barbed tail. Had blue eyes and two protruding lower tusks. Wears glasses with an orchid vest and lilac bow added on to a white dress shirt.
"He wants to be called that," said King, laughing.
"Okay, Tibbles," said Eda, handing an empty potion bottle to Tibbles. "I need some of this elixir."
"Oh. This is one wicked brew. Lucky for you," said Tibbles, grabbing a potion bottle underneath his counter with his tail. "I just stocked up."
"Huzzam!" said Eda, bringing out her coin purse. "I'll give you ten snails."
"Add two more zeros and it's a deal," said Tibbles, smiling.
"A thousand snails?" said Eda, glaring at Tibbles. "What kind of game are you playing?"
"Capitalism. Where everyone wins," said Tibbles, before going further into his stand. "Except you."
"Hey!" said Eda, before noticing a deck of Hexes Hold'em cards. "Say, you play Hexes Hold'em?"
"Really?" said King, looking up at Eda. "Now?"
"Oh! Is that what that game is called?" said Tibbles, chuckling and returning to the counter. "I was just using these as coasters."
"How about we make it interesting? I win, you give me the elixir," said Eda, pointing at Tibbles. "You win, you can take something of mine."
"Oh, what fun," said Tibbles, smiling while holding the deck of cards. "You're on."
Meanwhile, back at the roaming owl house, Danielle had just regained consciousness. Feeling the house moving around. Danielle runs to the door and opens it. Holding the doorhandle and looking outside, Danielle notices Luz, Willow, and Gus had a light blue glow to them and holding hands.
"Cosa sta succedendo?" shouted Danielle, gaining their attention.
"Danielle!" said Luz, seeing that Danielle was okay. "You're awake! Oh, I'm so glad you're okay."
"Again…" said Danielle, watching her footing before staring at Luz. "What's going on?"
"Well…" said Luz, emphasizing the word. "The moonlight conjuring worked. Only, it didn't animate the doll but the house."
"La casa?" said Danielle, getting panicking before noticing Hooty. "Hooty? Are you okay?"
"He's in a trance," said Gus, looking at Danielle.
"Is there a way to wake Hooty up?" asked Danielle, before remembering what her Mamma said about trances. "Actually, never mind."
"Look, Amity's house," said Willow, pointing to the Blight household. "Time to show Amity what a real conjuring looks like."
"Whoa…" said Danielle, feeling the owl house come to a stop and seeing a rope had somehow been thrown over the roof. "Guys…"
"What happened?" asked Willow, wondering what is going on.
"Is that a..." said Luz, seeing a giant crossbow not too far away. "Giant crossbow?"
A demon hunter with an eye patch gives the signal for the crossbow to be shot. A second giant bolt and rope secure the house further. The Eye Patch Demon Hunter jumps up in front of the kids startling them. Danielle conjures a white lens like barrier but the Eye Patch Demon Hunter is able to break it with the green lightning he produced earlier to shock the large demon on the cart.
"Knock knock," said Eye Patch Demon Hunter, startling the teens further.
The owl house is tied down to a large cart being pushed through the woods by demon hunters. One stands atop a cliff and blows into a horn. Hooty starts making strange noises as Luz, tied to Willow, and Gus inside, kicks at it. Danielle was tied separately from the others.
"Hooty! Hooty!" shouted Luz, kicking at the door, hoping Hooty would listen. "You have to wake up!"
"Don't! Mamma says never to bother someone when in a trance," said Danielle, remembering stories her Mamma talked about Dziadek. "Dziadek would meditate sometimes and go into trances. Told Mamma and my zie and zio never to bother him when he was in such a state. I don't know what would happen should we try to wake Hooty?"
"¡Está bien!" said Luz, no longer kicking the door. "No waking Hooty."
"If you want this to end as you say, three must hold hands," said Hooty, still in a trance. "It's the only way."
"Three?" said Danielle, dejectedly.
"Four works too," said Hooty, somehow feeling Danielle's emotion.
"¡Oye, no me hable así!" said Luz, kicking the door one more time before looking Willow's way. "Willow, will you help me out with Hooty?"
"I'm sorry, Luz," said Willow, staring at the floor. "You shouldn't ask me to help with anything."
"Willow," said Luz, staring at Willow.
"I got it," said Danielle, figuring out what Hooty meant. "We have to join hands. That's what Hooty was saying. If we want this to end, we must join hands. We can take back Hooty this way."
"You're a genius Danielle," said Luz, only for the house to stop moving. "Did the house stop moving?"
"Uh, my insides didn't," said Gus, grimacing.
"Join hands, join hands," said Danielle, only for the Eye Patch Demon Hunter to open the door, laughing as he looks at the teens.
The Eye Patch Demon Hunter picks up the bound teens and pushes them out the door towards the rest of his entourage. The teens stare at the Eye Patch Demon Hunter as they're held in place by another demon hunter.
"Take the house and rip out the house demon," said the Eye Patch Demon Hunter, shutting the door behind him. "We can sell it to restaurants as exotic meat. As for the long-haired human girl, she's going straight to Emperor Belos."
"Cosa!" said Danielle, wondering why the emperor wanted her. "Perché?"
"No!" said Luz, not liking what she was hearing. "Hooty would taste terrible. And Danielle is going nowhere."
"Hey, I'm a refined taste," said Hooty, hearing what was said. "Hoot! Hoot!"
"Speaking of taste," said a Purple Haired Female Demon Hunter, holding the tray of pizza bagels she grabbed from within the house and eating one. "I've never tasted anything so delicious."
"Leave Hooty alone," said Danielle, staring at the Eye Patch Demon Hunter. "Maledetto bracconiere!"
"What she just say?" asked the Eye Patch Demon Hunter, eyeing his fellow demon hunters.
"Don't know," said a Green Skinned Demon Hunter, shrugging his shoulders before walking forward. "What do we do with the worms?"
"I don't like that look in his eyes," said Danielle, staring at Luz, Willow and Gus.
"Throw them over the cliff," said the Eye Patch Demon Hunter, staring at the teens.
"Cosa! Noo!" thought Danielle, trying to get loose from the demon hunter that was holding her in place.
"All righty, kids," said the Green Skinned Demon Hunter, pushing the teens towards the edge of a nearby cliff. "Here's the end of your short little lives."
"No no no…" said Danielle, seeing Luz, Gus and Willow pushed towards the cliff.
"Wait! Wait! Wait!" said Gus, turning the group around so he was face to face with the Green Skinned Demon Hunter. "Is this really what you wanna be doing with your life? Tossing kids from cliffs?"
"Actually, yes. It's been my dream since I was a boy," said the Green Skinned Demon Hunter, the teens staring at him. "I was a strange child. Whee!"
"NOOOOO!" shouted Danielle, seeing Luz, Willow, and Gus pushed off the cliff before her hazel eyes turned white with wisps in the corner of her eyes.
A pulse of magic bursts from Danielle, severing the rope that bound her. Standing up, Danielle stares at the demon hunters with a blank angry stare. White dragon claws made of magic encase Danielle's hands. Flexing the claws, Danielle rushes at the demon hunters. The demon hunters retaliate with their own magic. Danielle slashes at the demon hunters magic and claims their magic as her own. As now, Danielle's dragon claws were cackling with lightning, wind and fire. Kicking an earth spike to the side, Danielle slashes the air multiple times, sending lightning, fire and wind straight at the demon hunters. Gouges littered the ground, plants singed, and the smell of ozone in the air, as the demon hunters back away from Danielle. Rushing towards the Eye Patch Demon Hunter, Danielle comes face to face with him.
"Heavenly Palm," said Danielle, her voice holding no emotion as she thrust her right palm dead center on the Eye Patch Demon Hunter's chest.
"Gaaaaaah!" shouted Eye Patch Demon Hunter, as he was sent flying through multiple trees away from the site. "Mommy!"
Staring at the remaining demon hunters, lightning cackles still on Danielle's dragon claws. Seeing the damage and what became of their leader, the remaining demon hunters scattered, screaming. As Danielle battled the demon hunters in a berserk like state, the others dangled from a branch.
"If we're not killed now, we will be when Eda finds out about the house," said Luz, staring down at the ocean.
"Luz, I'm so sorry. You wanted to turn back but I just had to show off to Amity," said Willow, staring at Luz. "The truth is she and I used to be friends."
"Whaaat?" said Luz, flabbergasted before hearing the branch crack.
"We played together as kids, but when she got her magical powers and I didn't, she stopped hanging out with me," said Willow, seeing the crack in the branch.
"Guys, is now the best time?" asked Gus, before hearing a bunch of noises up on land. "Also, what's up with all that noise and screaming up there?"
"I just wanted to prove to her that I was a powerful witch, too," said Willow, sighing.
"That's ridiculous. You helped bring a house to life. Amity doesn't know what she's talking about," said Luz, seeing Willow smile. "Next to Eda, you're the most powerful witch I know. No offense, Gus."
"No, not at all. I know what I'm about," said Gus, seeing the branch crack more and yelping alongside Willow and Luz. "This tree can't hold us much longer."
"There. Now, if I could just reach that root," said Willow, freeing an arm and grabbing the root. "Gotcha!"
Utilizing her magic, Willow is able to get the root to become a plant big enough to lift them out of danger. Having one of the vines cut the rope, Willow has the plant lift them back up to land. Though, they were in for a big surprise when they got back there. Luz, Willow and Gus see the havoc that was left behind from the battle between a berserk Danielle and the demon hunters. Climbing off the plant, Luz walks closer to Danielle.
"Danielle…" said Luz, Danielle staring at her, recognition slowly returns to her eyes. "Are you okay?"
"Luz… Willow… Gus…" said Danielle, her eyes going back to their normal hazel green, fully aware now before running towards them and pulling them into a hug while crying. "I'm so glad you're okay."
"It's okay Danielle," said Luz, rubbing Danielle's head as she cried. "It's okay."
Meanwhile, while that was going down, Eda had lost a game of Hexes Hold'em. Badly too, since Tibbles wild card was showing off.
"Oof," said King, seeing Eda lose badly. "That was painful to watch."
"You card shark," said Eda, glaring at Tibbles. "You hustled me."
"Looks like you forgot about my wild card," said Tibbles, chuckling.
"In any case, I'd like my prize now. And I choose... the little bone boy," said Tibbles, chuckling while grabbing King. "I've always wanted a tiny servant to model my line of baby clothes."
"No! I don't look good in clothes. I'm all-natural," said King, trying to push himself away from Tibbles. "Eda, do something!"
"I can't perform magic," said Eda, seeing her magic wasn't working and more feathers sprouting before Tibbles snapped his fingers and magic chains bound Eda. "You think this can stop me? I can still bite your ankles."
"You don't think I know who you are? Eda, the Owl Lady," said Tibbles, before pulling out a wanted poster. "That's right. I've seen your wanted posters around here. I wonder how much the Emperor's Coven would pay me to hand you over?"
"King, I'm sorry," said Eda, not too long after Tibbles had King dressed up in a green sailor's outfit and chained to the stand.
"King? Who's King?" said King, looking away from Eda. "I go by Little Bone Boy now."
"I know I have a problem. I get obsessed with Hexes Hold'em. But I'm done with that stupid game. Look," said Eda, grabbing a nearby card with her mouth and eating it.
"You promise?" asked King, staring at Eda.
"I promise," replied Eda, her words muffled by the card in her card.
"Okay, okay," said King, chuckling before kicking an ankle chain off. "I'll grab you the elixir and then we can bust out of here."
"Bone boy!" shouted Tibbles, startling King. "You will do no such thing. The Emperor's Coven is already on its way to send this witch here to the Conformatorium. And I just rustled up some more clothes for you to try on."
"Just because I have a model's body doesn't mean you can use me like this," said King, seeing Tibbles hold up another outfit for him to wear.
"I can and I am, bone boy. I've got the cards stacked against you," said Tibbles, getting into King's face yet not noticing the sound of loud footsteps coming their way. "And nothing can stop me. Nothing!"
Just then, the owl house wonders into the sector of the night market. Stomping Tibbles stand to pieces, the owl house keeps walking away. One of the elixirs rolls away before being grabbed by a passerby.
"Sorry, mister," said Luz, waving out a second-floor window of the house.
"Wait, what…" said Eda, stopping her laughing when she recognized her house. "Was that my house?"
"No, no, no!" shouted Tibbles, looking at his stand. "My scam stand."
"Someone has got themselves in a tight spot," said the Nearby Passerby, walking over to Eda. "Though I prefer you not coming to him anymore for such things."
"Blair…" said Eda, looking up at her junior from Hexside.
Blair is a young adult witch in her early thirties. Long wavy butt length sandy blonde hair, purplish red eyes, light skin and point ears. Attire was a purple dress with long sleeves with a tan hemline with red designs, a grey detachable shawl, black boots with gray wrappings secured in place with red strings, and a long black cape with the inner lining being a light lavender and the clasp resembling a titan's skull. Had a satchel tied around her waist with red strings. Her palisman was a large light brown bear, half the size of King, with a crescent moon mark on its forehead, the staff being a deep honey color with notches on it. Boreas's left paw on top of the staff while it looked like it was climbing.
"Here you go," said Blair, unchaining and helping Eda up. "Drink up."
"Thanks," said Eda, taking the offered elixir and drinking it.
"Hey!" shouted Tibbles, looking at Eda and Blair. "She has not paid for that."
"Boreas," said Blair, speaking to her palisman. "Thrash him."
Staff disappearing and opening its honey-colored eyes, Boreas roars before setting its sight on Tibbles. Chuckling nervously, Tibbles runs away from Boreas though not without a jet of flames spewed from the palisman burning his rump.
"I like her," said King, scampering up onto Eda's shoulders.
"I need to get going," said Eda, walking away. "I have a bunch of teens to deal with."
"If you need anymore of that elixir whenever Morton out, come my way," shouted Blair, Boreas returning to staff form before lifting off. "That brew is in my repertoire."
"That's good to know," said Eda, watching Blair fly on by, Boreas roaring goodbye.
Finally, back on their property, Hooty situates the house back into its proper place. Looking around, Danielle and Luz slowly look around. Seeing the house in disarray, Danielle sighs breaking the hand hold before sitting down on the couch.
"Long night," thought Danielle, pushing her hair back before looking at the mess in the house. "Better start cleaning."
"Did we do it?" asked Luz, staring at Danielle, Willow and Gus.
"Is the room spinning or is it just me?" asked Hooty, opening the door and chuckling. "Ah. Just a little house humor. Ooh."
"Hooty," said Danielle, staring at Hooty while rubbing her forehead. "Please, not now."
"Sorry about all that, Hooty," said Luz, apologizing to Hooty.
"It's okay," said Hooty, tired from the trance and joyride. "I'm just glad I was included."
"Eda!" said Danielle, standing up after noticing Eda slamming the door shut after hiding behind it. "Sono così dispiaciuto!"
"Oh, boy," said Luz, seeing how mad Eda was alongside King.
"You two are so busted," said Eda, staring at the girls.
"Sono spiacente!" said Danielle, eyes closed and feeling the tears coming. "Sono spiacente! Capisco se non ti fidi di me dopo questo."
"Oh, man," said Luz, cringing as Eda approaches her and Danielle.
"You held a moonlight conjuring," said Eda, still glaring at the girls.
"Sono spiacente!" said Danielle, trying to keep it together.
"We did," said Luz, eyes closed and still cringing.
"And you animated my house," said Eda, within arms reach of the girls. "My house!"
"Quindi così mi dispiace!" squeaked Danielle, internally curling in on herself.
"Yes," said Luz, her eyes still closed, too scared to look at Eda.
"No. Don't punish Luz and Danielle," said Willow, standing in front of the girls. "We're the ones who pushed them to do the conjuring."
"If you're gonna eat me, just do it now," said Gus, stepping in front of Willow. "Do it now!"
"Willow…" said Danielle, staring at Willow and Gus. "Gus…"
"Hey, you didn't have to do that," said Luz, staring at Willow before looking at Danielle. "Eda, don't blame Danielle. None of this is her fault, she spent most of it in a trance."
"A trance…?" said Eda, staring at Danielle.
"Yes," said Luz, clenching her hands. "I didn't listen when she asked me to talk to Willow and Gus. I kept it going on even though Danielle was uncomfortable with it. So, blame me, not Danielle."
"Luz…" said Danielle, staring at Luz. "You didn't…"
"Yes, I should," said Luz, turning around and facing Danielle. "Danielle, I'm sorry."
"Grazie Luz," said Danielle, pulling Luz into a hug. "Grazie."
"Wow, her hugs are so…" thought Luz, leaning into the hug. "Tan cálida, tan tierno, tan amable. Nunca me he sentido tan segura."
"Besides Danielle, you're all guilty, so you'll all be punished by cleaning my house top to bottom," said Eda, summoning a bunch of cleaning supplies into the teens hands. "And another thing, that was totally amazing. And I'm so joining you for next year's conjuring. Now get to work."
"I'm sorry Eda," said Danielle, seeing Luz, Willow and Gus beginning the cleanup.
"Look, from what Luz said you were in a trance almost throughout the whole thing," said Eda, staring at Danielle while sitting on the couch. "There's nothing to apologize for."
"But it is my fault," thought Danielle, rubbing her arm before grabbing some of the cleaning supplies. "I'll still help with the cleaning. Maybe it will settle my nerves."
"Your choice," said Eda, seeing Danielle help along with the cleaning.
"I can't believe they animated a whole house," said King, jumping onto the couch.
"Yeah. You're right," said Eda, staring at the girls. "That takes some powerful magic."
"You know, I still kinda wish we got to show up Amity," said Luz, looking at Willow while swishing a broom around in a barrel bucket.
"Yeah," said Willow, spritzing a cabinet door. "Too bad no one will know of our daring adventures."
"Aah," shouted King, startling everyone when he bit into a pizza bagel. "How are these still hot?"
