I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC and any other OC's that will appear in the story. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Fourteen

Day Eight

Trying to figure out how she produced light from her palm last night against the Owl Beast, Danielle tries to replicate it. Unfortunately, Danielle was making no headway. Luz on the other hand was having a blast drawing what everyone dubbed the Light Glyph. Tons of ball of lights hovered in the living room. Not wanting to be left behind, Danielle tries even harder to get her light to work.

"Come on, come on already," said Danielle, tapping her arm hoping it would work. "Work already."

"Having a hard time with your flashlight?" asked Luz, drawing her latest light glyph while talking to Danielle.

"Yes," replied Danielle, about to tap her arm again before looking at Luz. "Wait… flashlight?"

"Yup, flashlight," said Luz, pointing her pencil at Danielle's arm. "It was like a flashlight when you used it last night."

"I'll think about that name you suggested," said Danielle, not so sure about the name before leaning against the wall. "I can't get it to work. I can feel my magic but I can't seem to grab it. How'd I even do it last night?"

"Sounds like you had to be in danger for it to work," said King, looking at Danielle before getting on all fours. "I think I can help with that. Rawr!"

"Mmm," said Danielle, holding back a giggle before picking King up and scratching his belly. "That was more cute than scary."

"I am the King of Demons! I'm suppose to be scary," said King, slumping in Danielle's arms. "Ugh… when will this cute phase end?"

"Well, since you can't get it to work," said Luz, passing a spare notepad and pencil Danielle's way. "Why not try the light glyph?"

"Sure, why not," said Danielle, grabbing the notepad and pencil and drawing the light glyph before thinking. "What am I doing wrong? I don't want to be in danger every time that happens."

Day Nine

"No progress again," said Danielle, leaning over the couch before looking at Luz surrounded by balls of light. "At this rate…"

"Hey Luz, look," said King, pointing at a specific ball of light. "This one has bumps all over it."

"Really?" asked Luz, looking at the one King was pointing at. "You're right. Did I mess up the glyph?"

"Mmmm," said Danielle, walking over and checking the ball of light out. "Oh, I know. Luz…"

"Or maybe it came out that way because I wanted it that way," said Luz, thinking on that fact. "Maybe it doesn't have to be just a sphere but any shape. So many possibilities."

"Kinda looks like konpeitō," said Danielle, eyeing the ball of light. "Hey Luz…"

"Look at this one," said Luz, starting another light glyph and it coming out like a cube. "And this one."

Drawing multiple light glyphs, the balls of light come out in different shapes that Luz was thinking before tapping the light glyph. Luz and King were dancing around the balls of light in excitement.

"Oh, that's great," said Danielle, shrinking back before silently looking at the ground dejectedly. "Super great."

Day Ten through Thirteen

Very much the same, Danielle has made no headway with her magic. Luz on the other hand has the owl house littered with various shapes made from light magic hovering throughout the owl house. Danielle would secretly head back to their shared room during those times whenever she didn't want anyone to see her in such a state. Leaning against the closed door, Danielle would just wait it out till she calmed down and was ready to be around anyone again.

Day Fourteen

"Yes," said Danielle, producing a ball of light in her hands. "Look guys! Look! I can finally do it!"

"That's awesome," said Luz, her light glyph pattern being slightly different before tapping it and producing a ball of light. "Yes, that one works as well. As long as it bears a resemblance to the original pattern, it will work."

"So what," said King, staring at the latest light glyph pattern. "This is what, a third variant."

"Guys," said Danielle, trying to get their attention before calming her nerves and just tossing her ball of light behind her before it exploded. "Oh my…"

"Whoa," said Luz and King, staring at the little crater before looking at Danielle.

"Hehehe, I think I'm going to…" said Danielle, slowly walking backwards to the back of the house. "Practice out back. Toodles."

'What was that about?" asked King, staring at Luz.

"Don't know," replied Luz, before staring back at her work. "Back to work."

Finally reaching the back of the property over looking the boiling sea, Danielle slowly breathes calming breaths. Calming down, Danielle starts producing various sizes and various shapes of light magic. Danielle even started to add color to certain ones.

"I wonder what else I can do with light magic," said Danielle, thinking before tapping a crystal shaped lavender light before smelling the scent of lavender. "Did I just… yes, scented lights."

"Something smells nice," said Hooty, rounding the corner and spotting the one producing the smell.

"Hi Hooty," said Danielle, cupping the crystal shaped lavender light. "I must have been thinking about soothing scents when I made it. You like?"

"Yes," said Hooty, sniffing the one in Danielle hands before sniffing some other ones. "Oh, this one is honey. This one is roses. Oh oh, this one is… I can't quite put it."

"Let me see," said Danielle, sniffing the white diamond shaped light. "This is chamomile."

"So many pretty lights," said Hooty, staring at every floating light before him.

"Okay, I can make various shapes of light magic and can color them and make them have scents. I can even produce that light from my palms again," said Danielle, thinking of what else she could do. "I wonder…"

"Pretty sounds," said Hooty, hearing the sound produced from the crystal shaped white light when Danielle tapped it.

"Music, awesome," said Danielle, tapping various ones. "I bet if done right, I could actually get a good melody going."

Day Fifteen

"Think this will really work," said Danielle, calming herself down. "Okay, just visualize."

Standing still in the middle of the kitchen, Danielle slowly let her magic go to her back. Visualizing what she wanted, a set of pure white wings slowly come out of her back before fluttering into place.

"Yes, yes yes yes yes!" said Danielle, twirling around in place, her new set of wings folded inwards around her during the twirl.

"That's great and all," said Eda, slightly touching Danielle's wings. "But if I recall, you're not good with heights."

"Ah man," said Danielle, realization dawning on her. "I'll cross that bridge when it comes. So, what ya think?"

"They make you look like an angel," said Luz, staring at Danielle.

"Okay, angel wings down," said Danielle, touching her wings. "Next up, fairy wings and maybe a tail to go with it."

"Hahahaha," laughed King, rolling on the floor laughing. "Fairies don't have tails."

"You-you never know," said Danielle, blushing in embarrassment before looking at the ground. "There could be some."

Day Sixteen

"I thought I said I'd cross that bridge another time," said Danielle, clinging to Eda like a lifeline. "Troppo alto! Troppo alto!"

"Well, this is another time," said Eda, flying on staff above the owl house. "Besides it's not like we're flying high above the isles."

"Danielle," shouted Luz, observing Danielle's first flight lesson. "Just don't look down."

"Heck to the no!" shouted Danielle, Eda loosens her arms off her. "Eda… please don't."

"Won't learn if you don't give it a shot?" said Eda, staring at Danielle. "Now flap those wings."

"Eeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaah!" screamed Danielle, after Eda clapped her back and she started falling. "Huh…?"

"Oh, you got to be kidding me?" said Eda, pinching the bridge of her nose after seeing that Danielle was just hovering over the roof. "New plan."

The day just went on like this. Getting Danielle to learn how to use those wings made from light magic wasn't easy. Lots of screaming, lots of clinging, and lots of scratches per Danielle on Eda's arms. By the end of the day, the only ones really exhausted were Eda and Danielle.
