A/N: Victory has its perks.

Tobias was not in happy spirits with the outcome of the final match of the Sinnoh League. Not only had Cynthia lost his position as the champion, it was to this upcoming trainer that didn't even evolve his Eevee…and won with it! It felt like an insult to his pride; he was starting to feel like if he had fought the challenger instead, he would have done better! Still, what was done was done and he couldn't rewrite history just to undo what had happened.

Shinji Ikari, he thought as he looked down at the stadium field at the boy that was being ganged up by these other kids and adults, probably his supporters or fan club, enjoy your time in the spotlight while it lasts. Like all torches that light up the darkness, your fire will burn out soon enough in the future.

While he did mean it in a negative sense, Tobias was not out to get even with Shinji; he had won the match to the best of his ability and the abilities of his Pokémon…and the people voted for Cynthia to face the kid, not him.

"…Shinji, you and your Pokémon were incredible out there," Antonio praised the trainer. "You were magnificent and absolutely amazing."

"Thank you, sir." Shinji accepted, being handed a bottle of water by his guardian, Misato.

"So…what is next?" The purple-haired woman asked him.

"First, the Pokémon Center to let my Pokémon recover," he answered, "and then we're off to the Hall of Fame."

"The Hall of Fame?" Fuyutsuki questioned, wondering where that was around here.

Gendo wanted to smash his tablet in frustration because of his son's victory in the Sinnoh League. But doing that wouldn't have made him feel any better. The whole city (and most likely the rest of the world) knew that Shinji won and would be talking about it for some time.

"Professor Rowan?" Shinji gasped as he saw the professor of the Sinnoh Region standing by a large door with Cynthia. "What are you doing here?"

"Why, congratulating you on your success, Shinji," the Pokémon Prof. explained to him, and then noticed the group of people with him, of whom he only recognized Kensuke Aida from before. "Who are they?"

"Friends from where I'm from," Shinji introduced them. "They were present to watch the last match of the league."

Professor Rowan had to admit that he didn't expect this transient Pokémon Trainer from another world to have such an extended support group of people that awaited his return to their world, but Prof. Oak ensured that Shinji was not like other Pokémon Trainers, in that there was something about him that showed much promise to the world.

"Nice to meet all of you," he greeted them.

"Welcome to the Sinnoh League Hall of Fame," said Cynthia to them, and the door behind her opened to reveal the special place within.

"Oh!" They gasped.

Within was a long hallway with framed portraits of various men and women from the past, each trainer portrayed alongside the Pokémon they had used to win their last match to become the champion of the league.

"This is where every trainer and their Pokémon are immortalized for their success in winning the Pokémon League," Cynthia explained to them as she and Prof. Rowan led them down to a small platform with six, round holes in it, leading to a space on the wall in front of them. "Are you ready to be recorded for the league history?"

Shinji smiled and held up his Eevee's empty Poké Ball; Misato knew this would only be for a moment, so she didn't complain. Setting all six of his balls onto the platform, he watched as the process lit up and the blank space on the wall in front of them started generating the Pokémon he had during the last match: They were of his Eevee, Charizard, Tropius, Jigglypuff, Articuno…and a Jynx, the sixth Pokémon that he hadn't used against Cynthia! The larger members were in the back with the smaller members in front, allowing everyone to be seen.

"Congrats, Shinji," Cynthia praised him. "You and your Pokémon are now Hall of Famers."

Another speck of light lit up on the new portrait, taking the shape of Shinji himself in the center of his Pokémon…and the representation of his Eevee jumped off the floor and into his arms as he smiled at the world.

Letting Misato out of her ball, Shinji felt such pride at being the new champion…and this was the first time he had ever won in the Pokémon League tournaments he had entered. It…it almost felt like he didn't deserve such recognition.

"Is it really a good thing for me to be the new champion?" He asked them, wanting their opinions on his success.

"Nobody deserves to be the champion more than you do, Shinji," Asuka expressed.

"You trained your best and did everything right to get where you're at," Toji told him.

"This is definitely your calling, Shinji," Misato told him. "You're the best and your Pokémon are living proof of your greatness."

Rei came over and pet his Eevee on her head. She then looked to Shinji and said, "You should be proud of how well each of you did out there."

"Thank you," he responded. I'll do my best not to bring shame to the title and recognition of Pokémon League Champion.

Looking at the new portrait once more, Shinji made a promise to himself to not let this glory go to his head and make him think that he was invincible, that someday in the future, there would be someone else with great potential that would come to oppose him for the title…and he would have to do his best to defend it.

"…So, Shinji's finally become a Pokémon League Champion," Palkia expressed, watching with the research crew as the displaced boy and everyone with him left the Hall of Fame. "He has achieved a degree of immortality in winning the league. History has received a new legend in the world of Pokémon."

"What's next on your journey, Shinji?" Hikari asked as they all walked away from the Lily of the Valley a day later, once the closing ceremony was completed and Shinji had received a trophy for winning the league.

"Head back to Pallet Town in the Kanto Region to plan ahead for the Unova and Kalos Regions," he explained to them. "If we stay in one place too long, we become rigid and out of practice. And there are Pokémon in those regions that can't be found in most other regions. The search for a Palkia and Dialga won't be easy, but we'll find them even when we're not looking for them."

Ritsuko found this to be unlikely and wanted to question his belief in such a possibility.

"Uh, Shinji?" Antonio went, looking up at the sky behind them. "There's a green serpent in the air following us."

"Huh? A green serpent?" Shinji responded, turning around to look up at the creature Mr. Giovanni described. A Rayquaza, perhaps? A master of the Hoenn Region's Weather Trio?

True to Antonio's words, there was green serpent in the air, and it was levitating down to where they were.

"Oh, my!" Hikari gasped, hiding behind Toji due to the creature's massive form.

"It's as big as Palkia or your Gyarados, Shinji," Toji told Shinji.

Fuyutsuki was glad that he wasn't having a heart attack because this creature was so intimidating that he felt like he needed to run away, but looking at Shinji as he stood his ground reminded him that this world had no Angels or Evangelions, so it had to be a Pokémon.

"A Rayquaza," went Shinji.

"Rayquaza?" Kensuke asked. "Here, in the Sinnoh Region, of all places? Why here and now?"

"Eee," Misato chirped as she hopped off Shinji's head and stood in front of the Legendary Pokémon that rarely ever left the areas of sky that humans and most other flight-capable Pokémon couldn't survive in. "Eevo!"

"Grrah!" Rayquaza growled at her. "Grraurgh!"

"Eee! Eevo!"

"Any idea as to what they're talking about?" Ritsuko asked Misato as the Eevee nicknamed after her continued to converse with the large Pokémon.

"You're asking me, and I barely know what she's saying to Shinji most of the time," she responded. "But maybe Shinji knows what they're saying."

Then the Eevee ran over to Shinji and tugged at his left leg, causing one of his Poké Balls to fall to the ground and roll away.

"Okay, what's the big idea, Misato?" He asked her, picking up the empty Ultra Ball, and then looked up at the Rayquaza…and then back at the ball. "Do you care to come with us on our way to the Kanto Region, Rayquaza?"

Rayquaza looked at Shinji…and nodded in the positive.

"Why do I get the feeling that this Rayquaza is among the Pokémon that choose to tag along with Shinji?" Kensuke wondered aloud.

"Does it really matter, anymore?" Asuka questioned, seeing the smile on Shinji's face. "Some Pokémon…just gravitate towards him."

"So…what, Shinji just catches a new Pokémon without actually facing it with his own?" Ritsuko asks, wanting an explanation for how the champion of the Sinnoh League just acquired a Legendary Pokémon stress-free without fighting it.

"It's no different from that time with the Articuno," said Antonio. "If it chose Shinji, it must see something in him that's worth following him over."

"If his father finds out, he's going to throw a bigger fit."

"His father can vent all he wants to," Misato tells the faux-blond. "He's got no say in how Shinji should spend his time here."

Of course, the purple-haired woman knew that Gendo would raise Hell if he did find out, and that was assuming that the research crew at the facility housing Palkia were still broadcasting what was happening now to the world. If they stopped after Shinji beat Cynthia or after he got into the Hall of Fame and received the championship trophy, then what Gendo didn't know wouldn't come back to bite any of them in the Muk. But none of them could know for sure until after they had to return to their world and recoup for a few days before they could come back again and see how Shinji was progressing.

Still, it's better to see Shinji as he is now than as an old man, Misato thought, though surprised herself at the very idea of any Pokémon, especially a Legendary Pokémon, choosing to follow Shinji over any other trainer that might've been looking for one of them. And he's only eighteen right now, yet he still looks like he's fourteen, just slightly taller and more lively…and with a menagerie of strange creatures.

"Hey, who wants a ride to Kanto on Rayquaza?!" Shinji asked them.

Antonio looked to the other adults and asked, "He's kidding, right?"

"Yarp!" Pen-Pen went; he was clearly interested in flying atop the dragon.

"…He did great in the Sinnoh League," said Tracy to Prof. Oak as they had witnessed Shinji winning the Sinnoh League and getting into the Hall of Fame.

"Yeah," Prof. Oak responded, impressed that Shinji managed to become the champion of one of the Pokémon Leagues of the regions he had visited. "Maybe one day, Ash will win one of the Pokémon Leagues, as well."

"Jynx," went the Jynx Shinji had sent back to the lab after the Sinnoh League ended, holding a tray of beverages in front of the two men. "Jynx!"

Unlike the other Jynx that were sent back to Oak by other trainers, Shinji's was unique in how he had to save her from a group of people that thought she was some sort of abomination because her skin was black instead of purple, something that Oak wasn't bothered by due to how certain Pokémon change over the generations. Once Shinji saved her life from the people that feared her, whenever he didn't train her, he would help build up her trust in people by letting her, like some of his other Pokémon that had some difficulty with people, help around Oak's lab and even help at Mrs. Ketchum's house with her Mr. Mime.

"Thank you, Katsuragi," Oak praised her; he found the nickname Shinji had given her to be somewhat odd due to how this Jynx seemed to have a taste for lemonade a little too much, reminded of how Shinji had explained that the woman his Eevee was nicknamed after, the same woman he nicknamed his Jynx after, enjoyed a type of beverage that was a bit much, but as time passed, Oak had found that some of these traits Shinji's guardian exhibited had to be the kind that he wouldn't change much of the time because some of these people he knew had much of an impact on his own actions.

After Katsuragi handed the second drink to Tracy, she took the third cup and raised it up.

"Jynx!" She cheered; she just felt like celebrating because Shinji had won the Sinnoh League, even though he didn't have her face his last adversary's Pokemon.

"One day, you'll get your chance to shine, Katsuragi," Tracy assured the Jynx, looking at a sketch he had made of Shinji with her.

To be continued…

A/N: I thought I was gonna work on this next year, but I ended up doing it this year before it ends. We know which Pokémon Shinji had for his sixth that he never used and now he has a Rayquaza in his possession! How many of y'all think that Shinji's "got the power"?
