A/N: I apologize for the chapter not being longer but the website hasn't been allowing me to upload or edit documents lately for this story. Hopefully this issue is resolved but this website has been acting up lately and it's not really getting fixed.

Glancing at Connor who had his eyes closed, Hank turned to Leah.

"I didn't think androids sleep…" Hank responded quietly, Leah absentmindedly waving her right hand in front of Connor's face. "Does he need to be recharged? Is he rechargeable?" He asked.

"I don't know. I don't know enough about prototype androids." Leah responded, lowering her right hand as the elevator stopped and Hank opened the doors before he walked into the hallway.

"Hey Connor!" Hank called out, Connor's eyes opening as his LED went from yellow to blue again. "You ran outta batteries or what?"

"I'm sorry. I was making a report to CyberLife." Connor explained, his right hand unintentionally brushing against Leah's left one and Leah blushing slightly.

"Ah… well do you two plan on staying in the elevator?" Hank responded, jarring them out of their thoughts before they followed him into the hallway and the elevator doors closed as the three walked to the apartment. "What do we know about this guy?" He questioned.

"Not much. Just that a neighbor reported that he heard strange noises coming from this floor. Nobody's supposed to be living here, but the neighbor said he saw a man hiding a LED under his cap." Connor explained, Hank rolling his eyes.

"Oh Christ, if we have to investigate every time someone hears a strange noise, we're gonna need more cops." Hank responded before Leah knocked loudly and forcefully on the door.

"DPD, open up!" Leah spoke loudly before they heard a crashing noise and running, Leah grabbing her gun and kicking the door in as Hank raised his gun and the three walked into the apartment.

Hank kicked another door down, Connor pulling Leah back as pigeons flew at them.

"What the fuck is this?!" Hank exclaimed as Leah covered her mouth and nose with her left hand. "I agree with you, kid, this place stinks." He responded as they put their guns in their jackets and looked around, Leah finding a jacket with initials in it after lowering her left hand.

"R.T…" Connor replied, Hank looking at them.

"He put his initials in his jacket? That's something your mom does when you're in first grade." Hank responded.

"Deviants have a habit of putting their names on things. It seems important to them." Connor replied before Leah opened one of the windows and the pigeons flew outside.

"Be free, birds." Leah spoke as she watched them fly away.

"Thanks for opening the window, Babydoll. We need some fresh air." Hank replied before Connor walked to the Urban Farm poster, pulling it off of the wall.

He let it fall and grabbed the diary, opening it and finding the writing to be indecipherable as Leah walked to him.

"Encrypted… I know some of it though." Leah spoke.

They looked at the wall and Hank looked at them.

"Any idea what it means?" Hank asked.

"rA9… written 2471 times. It's the same sign Ortiz's android wrote on the shower wall… Why are they obsessed with this sign?" Connor responded before they heard something on the roof of the apartment.

Leah walked towards the source of the noise before the rotted apartment roof collapsed and the deviant crashed onto Leah and they fell before he ran off, Hank and Connor helped her up.

"What are you waiting for?! Chase it!" Hank responded angrily before they ran after it.

Connor forced the back door open as he and Leah chased after the deviant, running through the Urban Farm and climbing onto the combine that stopped before they climbed over the ledge and ran towards the greenhouses.

"Hey!"

"Holy shit!"

"Jesus, look at them go!"

"Be careful, you two!"

"Look out!"

Ignoring the background chatter was easy enough until Leah tripped over gardening shears and Connor helped her up before they took off again.

"Is she okay?!"

Stopping where he was, Hank saw the two jump over another ledge and slide down one of the glass ceilings before they jumped onto a train.

"Holy shit!" Hank responded after catching his breath.

Leah ignored the twinge of pain in her left leg as she and Connor jumped onto the ladder and climbed up it, continuing their pursuit of the deviant until Connor had to catch Leah from falling.

"Are you okay? What hurts?" Connor asked gently.

"My left ankle. I jarred it when we jumped onto the train." Leah admitted as Hank caught up to them.

"Where... where did he go?" Hank managed to ask as he caught his breath.

"I lost it. I stopped to keep Leah from falling and it got away." Connor admitted.

"It's alright. Doesn't matter. We know what it looks like. It won't get far." Hank responded after noticing that Leah was guarding her left ankle.

"We shouldn't have jumped onto the train." Leah replied, Hank getting her to look at him.

"These things happen, kid. It's no one's fault." Hank responded before they hugged for a few seconds and he looked at Connor. "Come on, let's get outta here. Seen enough vegetables for one day." He replied.

"That shouldn't have happened. I wasn't programmed to fail." Connor explained.

"You checked on your partner's well being instead of continuing to pursue the suspect. I've done that before." Hank explained.

"Come on… let's get back to the precinct." Hank responded before they helped Leah to the nearest stairwell and down the steps.

At the car, Hank opened the passenger door and helped Leah sit down before he carefully moved her foot and ankle and heard her bite back a painful cry.

Connor reached out and held Leah's right hand, Leah holding onto his left hand as she brushed her tears away before they let go of each other's hands.

"Shit… change of plans, you're going to the ER to make sure that your ankle isn't broken, Babydoll." Hank responded gently.

"No, I'm fine, I can walk…" Leah protested, Hank lightly shushing her and holding her.

"Kiddo, I know you don't want to but I don't want you walking on a broken leg like I did when I was younger and didn't listen right away to Jeffrey to go to the ER. He practically had to drag me there." Hank explained gently before they let go and Hank helped her get into the car.

At Henry Ford Hospital, Leah's left ankle was x-rayed once she was in a hospital gown and Hank had stepped away to call Ben.

Connor reached over and lightly rubbed Leah's right arm before his left hand rested on her right hand.

Leah ^Companion

Leah's fingers wrapped around his left hand and Connor brushed her tears away as she managed to calm down.

It wasn't long until Leah settled into sleep because of the medication she had been given, her right hand still in Connor's left hand.
