Chapter 21
The Truth
The battle was over, Doctor Stylish and his experiments were all eliminated. Najenda rode on the Manta Ray Danger Beast that carried Mein, Chelsea, Eri, and Sheele. Najenda then steered the Beast towards the group that fought the doctor. Akame held Izuku as he passed out due to exhaustion. Tatsumi rushed over towards the duo.
"Akame! Are you guys alright," Tatsumi asked.
Akame nodded as she laid Izuku down on the ground. Tatsumi sighed as he was about to speak, the Danger beast that the rest of the group were on, landed near them.
"Is everyone alright," Najenda asked.
"Yeah, Izuku is just exhausted," Tatsumi explained.
Sheele then spotted the new gauntlets that Izuku was wearing.
"Is it just me or does Izuku have new equipment," Sheele questioned.
Everyone then looked at Izuku's arms to see the new white gauntlets that wrapped around his arms as if they were bandages.
"Wait what happened to his Teigu, did they break?" Mein asked.
Akame looked at the new gauntlets as she too was questioning why he replaced them.
"Maybe they evolved, it happened with Incursio." Tatsumi deduced.
Najenda sighed, "It's best if Izuku explains it to you all, but first we need to find a new base location. Who knows if the Empire knows of this location," Najenda changed the subject.
She turned to Susanoo and signaled him to carry Izuku. He complied and lifted Izuku up and carried him to the Danger Beast. The rest followed behind him.
"Wait, where's Leone and Lubbock?" Tatsumi asked.
"Right behind you," Leone whispered into his ears.
Tatsumi jumped and turned around, "The hell Sis! Where did you come from?" Tatsumi questioned.
Leone laughed as Lubbock groaned.
"Good to see you both, now let's hurry. We don't have time to waste," Najenda stated.
As the group hopped on the Manta ray, Najenda signaled the beast to fly. It rose above the ground and flew off.
Akame laid Izuku on her lap as Eri was on the other side of her. Eri constantly worried about Izuku as he rested. Akame stared at Izuku as she could hear him gently snoring as if he didn't get enough rest. Akame then remembered the strange ability that Izuku used. The black tendrils that appeared on his hands. She started to wonder if Izuku was hiding something from them. Akame then gently brushed a strand of hair to the side as she felt the air blowing as they soared through the sky.
"What are you hiding Izuku," she asked herself.
Hours later
As Izuku slowly started to regain consciousness, he opened his eyes to see Akame and the blue sky. He saw that Akame's hair was blowing, as if they were in the sky. Akame then looked down and smiled, "Good morning, Izuku," she greeted him.
Izuku slowly lifted himself up as he looked around, only to see them on the Manta ray, soaring through sky.
"Looks like someone is awake," Izuku turned towards the voice to see Najenda and the rest of the group.
"We're about to land so don't worry," She informed him.
Izuku then looked at Akame as she had a conflicted look on her face. Izuku, being worried about his friends, went up to Akame as he grabbed her hand.
"Is something wrong Akame?" Izuku asked with concern as he looked straight into Akame's eyes.
Her cheek slightly reddened as he was close to her face, but she couldn't lie on what was bothering her.
"Izuku, you've been with us for at least a month now but it seems that you're still hiding something from us," Akame responded to his question.
Izuku then widened his eyes as he looked at Akame. Najenda looked at the two and sighed but then she spotted a clearing, seeing no Danger Beast.
"Alright we're going to land," Najenda announced.
The rest looked at where Najenda pointed as Izuku looked and sighed. He turned to Akame,
"Once we land Akame, I'll tell you the truth," Izuku answered.
Akame looked at him as Eri looked at him as well, knowing full well what he was going to tell her.
As the Manta Ray landed, the rest of them got off the beast as they started to stretch.
"Man, that was fun," Tatsumi stated.
While Mein and Lubbock were still shaking as they were happy that they were on ground again.
Mein then looked back at the beast but only to see it leave.
"Hey it's leaving," she called out.
"Yeah, to go back to headquarters come on it should be obvious," Chelsea stated.
Mein scowled at the girl's comment.
Najenda then realized she hadn't introduced the new members yet.
"Ah while we're at it, let me introduce our new members," Najenda stated
She then pointed to where Chelsea was but she wasn't there. Chelsea was right next to Akame as she stroked Akame's hair.
"So your Akame, God you're so pretty," she complimented her.
"What are you doing, please let go," Akame asked her.
"Oh, the names Chelsea, I'll be killing people with you all from now on, pleasure to meet you all, here have a lollipop," Chelsea offered Akame.
Akame's eyes started to sparkle as she drooled. She swiftly grabbed the lollipop and started to unwrap it and chew on it.
"Welcome to the team," Akame said, muffled.
"Just like that?!" Tatsumi exclaimed.
"She must've been really hungry during the flight," Lubbock deduced.
Tatsumi then stopped and looked at Najenda, "Now that I think about it, Chelsea doesn't look like a assassin,"
Najenda shook her head, "Looks maybe deceiving but she's completed missions as much as Akame did,"
Tatsumi was stunned at the information.
Najenda then turned to Susanoo, "And our other recruit is an organic Teigu, Lighting Flash, Susanoo," she introduced as the tall man looked at everyone.
Tatsumi walked up to Susanoo, "Um it's nice to meet you,"
Susanoo then noticed Tatsumi's pants were ripped. Susanoo then crouched and started to sew the pants until it was fixed.
Tatsumi panicked and questioned what he was doing. As soon as Susanoo sewed his pants he nodded as if he was satisfied.
"He's also a clean freak," Najenda added.
Leone then walked up to Najenda, "So what else does he do,"
Najenda chuckled, "I'm glad you asked,"
She turned to Susanoo, "Now Susanoo!"
"Right!"
Susanoo then out of nowhere, grabbed an axe and started to chop down trees as he then started to build a house then started to cook.
Everyone was mildly impressed but…
"So he's just doing house work," Leone stated.
Najenda smirked, "He also has a special move that only I can activate," she gloated.
Izuku sweatdropped as he looked around Chelsea was teasing Mein as the picked hair girl wasn't having it, Sheele was holding her back as Mein tried to claw her.
Lubbock was glaring at Susanoo saying he was better than but Susanoo was confused on what he was saying.
Chelsea then saw Eri as she walked up to the little girl. She then squeaked as she hid behind Akame.
"Um hey boss, I didn't know there was a little girl in this group," Chelsea looked at Najenda.
Najenda pointed towards Izuku as Izuku flinched.
"Oh? So why is she hiding behind Akame then," she asked. Then she gasped,
"No way, is this… your secret love child?" Chelsea deduced.
Akame and Izuku simultaneously blushed as she said that.
"W-W-What no she isn't!" Izuku denied.
Akame just looked down as she was trying to hide her embarrassment.
"Then who is she then," Chelsea asked. She was then face to face with Izuku.
Akame looked at the two as she watched Chelsea smile at him.
Izuku turned towards Akame as he looked at her, he still remembered that he had to tell them the truth.
"I rescued her from her tormentors and now she's stuck with me but that's not the full story," Izuku explained.
Chelsea noticed the serious look he gave her.
Izuku turned to everyone else, "I also need to tell you guys the truth about me and Eri,"
Everyone except for Najenda and Susanoo widened their eyes.
"The truth? What do you mean Izuku," Tatsumi asked.
"It's best if we head inside," Izuku stated.
As Izuku walked towards the house that Susanoo just built.
A few minutes later
Everyone was situated as they sat down on couches as they had their attention on Izuku.
Izuku took a deep breath as he firmly looked at them.
"Eri and I… are from another world," he blurted out.
Everyone looked at him as if he was crazy.
"Uh, Greenie, you sure you didn't get hit in the head too hard or something," Leone stated.
Izuku shook his head, "here's how it started,"
Izuku explained and told his story of how he was from another world and how he was kidnapped here. He stated that Eri somehow was transported here as well. He also told them about the Overhaul incident. They thought he was joking but the look in his eyes was him telling the truth.
Everyone was silent as he finished his story. Each and everyone of them absorbed the information he relayed to them.
"So… that's why you needed that history book from me," Lubbock pieced together.
Izuku nodded as he looked at them then at Najenda.
She nodded at him as she looked at the team, "I know this is hard to believe but it is true since his powers originate inside his body," she explained.
"So that's why you have new gauntlets," Sheele pointed out.
Izuku then activated the Full Gauntlets as it wrapped around his forearms and glowed in a green hue.
"These are the Teigu I obtained when I went with Najenda, I dubbed them Full Gauntlets," Izuku explained.
"What do they do?" Mein asked.
"They allow me to use my power inside of me without any backlashes but I can only use up to 85% of my power when I'm wearing this," Izuku explained further.
"Those aren't recorded in the book so it must've been a lost Teigu they found," Leone deduced.
Izuku nodded as he then deactivated the gauntlets.
Akame then looked at Izuku, "Then, what about the black tendrils that popped out of your arm," she asked.
Izuku looked down at his hands, "I… don't know about that myself, they just appeared," Izuku answered.
Tatsumi looked at the hero as he just realized that this boy he thought he knew was still full of mysteries.
"I'm sure all of you have questions for Izuku but right now, you should relax," Najenda suggested.
"All of you haven't rested, you can ask him questions once you've rested."
Everyone nodded as they stood up to head to bed. Izuku sat on the couch, now that they knew where he was from now, what would happen onwards, would they still accept him? He couldn't contemplate any longer as Najenda placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Give them time Izuku," she solemnly looked at him.
He nodded as he stood up, Eri grabbed his hand as he then smiled.
He then walked Eri to their room for now.
With Akame
She laid down on her bed as she thought about Izuku.
He was from another world, a completely different world from theirs. No wonder Izuku didn't kill, because they had different lives. He was cultivated into a hero while she was trained to become a ruthless assassin. But even so, even if she knew that she cared about him so much. She couldn't ignore the difference between them, burned into light and cultivated it while she was cultivated in the dark.
She watched as her comrades died one by one, joining Night Raid. She expected the same but Izuku showed up. He tried his best to prevent them from dying, Bulat was the first loss they suffered and that tore Izuku apart. Akame shifted as she stared at the window.
"I'll be your Hero,"
Those words still rang in her mind constantly, Akame was blessed to meet someone like him. At first she was curious about him but as they fought side by side together. Akame started to develop new feelings that she usually didn't feel. She wanted Izuku to stay with her, stay by her side until the end but she knew that he had to return home soon, with Eri.
Why was life so unfair to her, was she destined to be alone? She felt scared, scared of losing her comrades but most importantly, scared of losing her one chance to finally experience this new feeling with Izuku.
The thought never left as she drifted into slumber.
The Next Morning
Everyone was gathered at the dining table as they ate Susanoo's cooking, it was delicious as they put it but they were still thinking about what Izuku said to them. Him being from another world.
Izuku looked at each one of them as they silently ate their food. Eri sat next to Izuku as she thought it was best to leave Akame with her thoughts.
As they ate Izuku was the one to finish first as he then walked into his room with Eri as they wanted to leave the rest to their thoughts.
As soon as he left Chelsea was tired of the silence.
"Okay, I think we need to talk about this," she stated.
They rest looked at her
"What, the fact that we've been fighting alongside an alien all this time," Mein stated.
"It's just a lot to take in," Lubbock blurted.
"I mean the fact that Greenie has been keeping this a secret all this time," Leone muttered loud enough for them to hear.
Akame looked down as she stared at her plate. She remembered Izuku's kind nature and heroic spirit.
"To think Izuku and I first met when we encountered a Danger beast," Tatsumi reminisced.
"It's all weird to think about though," Lubbock stated.
"What are we talking about again," Sheele asked.
"About how Izuku is an otherworlder," Mein answered.
Sheele widened her eyes, "Wait he is?"
"Sheele he told us yesterday," Tatsumi reminded her.
Sheele then brought her finger to her chin, "Oh,"
"Akame, what do you think about this," Leone asked.
Akame looked up as everyone stared at her. She then looked at her plate as she reminisced about the time with the young hero. His smile his kind gently nature, even though he was from another world, he sacrificed his time and risked his own life for people he only knew for a short amount of time.
Akame then looked at everyone, "Even though he's from another world, he is still the same person we met," she answered.
Tatsumi widened his eyes as he looked down, the time he trained with him. Testing each other limits, pushing each other.
"He fought for us, he stands by our side even though we go against his ideals. He try's to find another way but most importantly he promised all of us, that he'll save us," Akame reminded them.
They thought back as Izuku impacted their lives, saving Sheele and Mein from death. Constantly saving people that he didn't even know. And most of all, fought alongside them.
Izuku stood as a beacon for them, to keep pushing forward.
"To be honest, even if he is from another world, nothing is going to change him, since he's still the same guy," Chelsea blurted.
"You guys shouldn't contemplate on the topic, since he's just a boy who's willing to help you guys," she continued.
Akame nodded as she smiled, "He fought with us and now it's time we fought by his side now," she stated.
Leone, Sheele, Lubbock, Mein, and Tatsumi nodded as they smiled.
"Yeah you're right he's still the same, the nervous but yet heroic boy," Leone smirked.
Akame smiled but deep down, she was afraid, afraid of losing Izuku and Eri. Once they overthrow the Empire, what's going to happen.
That thought remained in her mind.
Najenda frowned as she noticed Akame's fear in her eyes.
'Akame…'
End
