Hello everyone, it's been a year, and I'm glad so many people like this story. Now let's get started with season 2. Oh But first a few things. I won't be doing season 2 chapter 1 from now on, I'll just be counting up, that's why this. We'll be sticking with a few nicknames from now on, like Vale and Midnight for example. Lastly, school is going to start again soon, just to let you know. Now Chapter 10.
Chapter 10
A Secret, A Spark, An A Ideal
The Breach
A couple days after the odd storm that covered the sky, Amaya and Falinks were patrolling the Breach's path under a waterfall of lava, while Amaya heard her helmet and riding her horse, and Falinks walking in a hexagon shape around the horse. The reason they were patrolling the path was because she was worried the storm was from Xadia, not from Drake.
While walking a steam geyser scared the horse a little, but Amaya calmed the horse down a little, and it kept moving. A few more steps, Amaya noticed a hole in the wall side of the path. She made the horse stop, and got off the horse to inspect the hole. Falinks joined her. While inspecting the hole, the horse moved back, and Amaya and Falinks noticed this. Amaya and Flainks turned their heads to see what scared the horse.
That is when they noticed the three Sunfire eleves, with long black swords in hands. Amaya pulled out her sword into her right hand, and her shield into her left hand, signaling Falinks to get into attack potions. "Falinks." Falinks said, as they moved into an arrow formation. Then the three elves charge at them. But Amaya and Falinks had no problem dodging and blocking the elves' attacks. After turning around the elves tried attacking again. Before they could attack Amaya pointed her sword at the elves and slid it forward and back. "Falinks." Falinks said, understanding what Amaya was telling them to use Brick Break. They then made their horn turn white and grow, right before the elves reached them.
Amaya and the first elf crossed swords, but she slammed her shield into the elf, forcing him into the wall. Amaya then slammed her left leg into the elf with the help of two of the Falinks, leaving some cracks on the wall. Then Amaya used her shield to toss the second elf into the air, and that elf got hit by two different Falinks. Then Amaya kicked the first elf in the face, making the elf move forward dizzy. Then Amaya and the head Falinks jumped onto the walk to deliver a back kick, forcing the elf over the edge and into the river of lava.
The third elf charged at Amaya and Falinks. Amaya then pulled her shield in, making Falinks gather behind her in the shape of an arrow pointing away from her. The elf then tried a jump attack, but Amaya blocked the attack, and with Falinks slamming into the back of Amaya's shield, the elf was forced back a bit. The elf then charged again, only to get blocked by Amaya's shield and sword. And while blocking the attacks, Falcons did a hit and run Brick Break attack, with one Falinks attacking at a time. All these attacks made the elf confused and sloppy, allowing Amaya to lock her shield with the elfs sword. Then with a twist of the shield the elf went over the edge and into the lava.
Then a wave of heat hit Amaya and Flainks from the left, making them slide to the right a bit. The two of them turned their heads to see a female elf and a giant flying bug.
The elf was as tall as Amaya, with dark skin, dark red hair pulled back into long strands, dark orange eyes with yellow marlins around her eyes and two lines going down from them and two red horns that curve up. She was wearing a long red tunic with gold designs, under her gold armor, and a helmet that was more like a crown then a helmet, the helmet had a symbol of the sun on it and had two curves that were in front of her horns.
The bug looked like a large moth, with an upper white furry body, the lowe body had a large black stinger, with two teal parts attacked to the side of the stinger, four tiny stubby arms, a black head with light blue eyes, two red fins attached to its head, and six fire like wings on it's back that start orange and grows more red as it reaches the end.
Amaya didn't need anything to be said to understand that they were their next opponents. So Amaya got ready to fight, "Falinks" Falinks said as they formed a Hexagon around her.
The elf understood and pulled out a sword that was in a decorative sheath. The elf then pulled out the blade, revealing a Sunforge blade, and unlike the one Kali had, this one was a thin longsword. "Volcarona" The bug said, as it's fins started to glow a bit.
The four of them looked at each other, waiting for any one of them to make a move. But the elf got tired of waiting and charged first, followed by the bug shooting out a stream of fire from its mouth. "Falinks." Falinks said as they used Protect and formed a green bubble around Amaya, blocking the fire.
Once the fire was gone, and Falinks dropped the Protect, the elf was right in Amaya and Falinks faces, and about to slash them with her Sunforge blade. To avoid this Amaya and Falinks jumped back. Then the elf tried to attack again, and again they jumped back. Having enough of this Amaya jumped forward to attack. The elf blocked her attack, and like a hot knife through butter cut threw Amaya's sword.
Surprised to see her sword broken, and frustrated about it, she threw it at the elf, only for the elf to block it. The elf attacked again, but Amaya moved to the wall. The Elf then tried to slash her with her Sunforge blade, but Amaya used the wall and her shield to block the attack. "Falinks." Falinks said, as he used Smart Strike, and turned his horns Silver. Falinks then scattered and hit the elf in the weak spot in her armor. This hurt the elf, allowing Amaya to kick the elf in the stomach, forcing the elf to the ground and sliding her over the edge.
Amaya then looked over the edge to see if she finished the elf. Only to see the bug, with the elf riding on it's back, with her right arm around the bug's head, and the Sunforge blade still in her left hand. "Volcarona." The bug said, as it's wings glowed red and flapped them. Then Amaya and Falinks were forced against the wall by a burst of hot air.
Amaya realized this was going to be a long fight and didn't want to waste time, so she got to and on her horse and took off, with Falinks running right behind her. Meanwhile the bug put the elf down on the path, and they both watched Amaya and Flaink retreat, for now.
The Moon Nexus
Back with the gang, Callum was relaxing in a quiet part of the Moon Nexus, surrounded by worn out ruin stones, writing a letter. "It feels like a lifetime since we left home… but it's only been a week. We left because we found something the world thought was destroyed… the egg of the Dragon Prince! Ezran, the twins, our Pokemon, and I decided to take a dangerous journey across the world… and carry this precious egg home to its mother in Xadia. Maybe then we can stop the war. It's been an amazing adventure. I'm even learning how to do magic! Though it hasn't always been easy. In fact, it's probably been the hardest thing we've ever done. But we haven't done it alone. We've been traveling with two new friends, Rayla and Kali, and their Pokemon Gligar and Fomantis. and Rayla is a Moonshadow elf, and Kali is a Sunfire elf. They showed me, nothing I believed about elves is true. Kali reminds me of mom, when she and Allen fight, kind of like you and mom. And Rayla is kind and good. She's fearless, fast, strong…" Callum said, reading what he was writing out loud, but then he was interrupted by two people.
"And daring. Oh, so daring!" A female voice said. "And we can't forget the flying the twins can do now, or the super awesome form Drake can turn into." A male voice said. Callum then looked up from his letter to see Rayla to his left, and Drake flying on his staff above him, in his normal form. "Hey, have you just been standing/ flying there the whole time?" Callum asked Rayla and Drake. "Don't let me interrupt." Rayla said to Callum, as she sat next to him. "Yeah we just didn't want you to skip the best part. Anyway, lunch will be ready soon, so finish what you're doing and join us when you're ready." Drake said to Callum, before flying off.
"So where were we? right you were looking for another good word to describe me, right? Well, I consider myself quite daring." Rayla said to Callum. "Quite?" Callum asked Rayla. Rayla nodded yes. "Well, I'll be sure to tell my step dad how "quite daring" you are." Callum said to Rayla, making her eyes go wide. "You're writing a letter… to the king?" Rayla nervously asked Callum. Callum nodded with a big grin. "He'll be worried about us. It'll mean a lot to him to know why we left, and that we're doing okay." Callum said to Rayla. This made Rayla feel bad.
"In journeys, there are always surprises. Things never go as you plan. We dropped the egg, and thought we all was lost. But something incredible happened. Now, instead of carrying an egg to Xadia, we're taking care of someone new. The most powerful creature in the entire world." Callum said, reading what he was writing out loud.
And that creature was a little dragon, they called Zym, who was currently playing with the gangs Pokemon, and Zorua. With them were two new Pokemon. One was a bug that was a little bigger than Ezran, it was like a mantis standing on two legs, and wearing leaf-like clothes and upper arms. The other one looked like a stuffed anteater animal, with a light purple body and a light pink head, with pink stubs on the end of its legs. Then Zym did something silly. "Musharan." the anteater said, giggling at Zym's antics. "Leavanny." the bug said, doing the same thing as the anteater.
Meanwhile Ezran, Ellis, and Kali were watching Zym and the Pokemon play, with Bait watching with them, and Ava sleeping behind them. Then Zym noticed a moon moth land on a nearby flower and got into a punch position. Zym then leaped forward, missing the moth. This made one of Zym's wings cover his face, making everyone laugh a little. "Leavanny." Leavanny said, helping clean Zym up.
The Castle In Katolis
Back at the Castle Viren was trying to convince the council that rules Katolis, while there is no king, that they must attack the Elves and Dragons. There were four people, with Opeli being one of them, with Chimecho floating behind her. All of them were gathered around a war table of the world.
"Dragons! The Xadain threat grows every day. There have been sightings of terrifying shadows in the clouds, flying high above the twins and cities of Katolis. War dragons! We must take action." Viren said to everyone. "No, we should wait. Xadia sent assassins and they took the king's life. We must deal with the Pokemon in our lands first." A man with dark-skin, a short brown beard and mustache, some thick eyebrows, wearing a dark robe and a decorative black and red head cover, said to Viren. "Saleer, now's not the time for us to be focusing on your distrust towards Pokemon." Opeli said to the dark-skin man. "Opeli right. We must answer the threat of Xadia!" Viren said to Saleer.
"Viren, there hasn't even been the slightest skirmish since then. Maybe that was it? They've had their revenge, and everything will just settle down now. I'm more worried by the increasing numbers of Pokemon." Saleer said to Viren. "Leave the Pokemon children out of this." Opeli said to Saleer. "Can't you all see the danger we're in?" Vrien asked everyone, getting their attention. "General Amaya reports that elven forces are gathering on the side of the Breach." Viren said, as he moved several flags to the Beach on the map.
"We must be prepared to fight, and we won't be able to fight them alone. We must call for a summit of the Pentarchy." Viren said to everyone. "You're out of order, Lord Viren. Only a king or queen can call for a summit. Frankly, I doubt the other rulers will even look at a message that doesn't bear the king's seal." Opeli said to Viren. "Chimecho." Chimecho said, agreeing with Opeli. "But this is a crisis of historic proportions. Humanity could face extinction if we don't work with the other four kingdoms to do something!" Viren said to Opeli. "None of that matters while we have no king. Therefore, our top and only priority must be finding the princes. Until we do, our hands are tied." Opeli said to Viren and Saleer.
The Moon Nexus
Back with the gang everyone was gathering for lunch, while Allen and Drake were flying around, and Rayla was out walking around. "Come and get it, everyone." Lujanne said to everyone, as she and Zoroark gestured one of their arms, to a large table with many tasty foods on it, bowls of grubs with Lujanne mount sanding by the bowls, and a pile of fruit for the Pokemon. "Elves and humans over here, those with three or more legs can sit there, with Phoe-phoe, and the pile of fruit of the Pokemon." Lujanne said to everyone, as they all took their sets.
"You named her Phoe-Phoe?" Ellis asked Lujanne. "She is a moon Phoenix. Her name is short for "Phoenix-Phoenix"." Lujanne said to Ellis, making her mount let out a cry. "I hope we're not too late." A voice said to everyone. They all looked up to see Allen and Drake flying on their staff. "And where have you two been?" Kali asked them. "Oh you know just practicing flying, Gorgeous." Allen said to Kali, as their staff stopped glowing, and he took a seat next to her, and Drake on the end of the table, near Ezran.
"So how were our girls Musharna and Mama Leavanny, when they were watching Zym?" Drake asked everyone. "They were great, Leavanny especially." Ezran said to Drake. "Well we don't call her Mama Leavanny for nothing. My Leavanny has helped take care of many young ones. She knows what she's doing." Allen said to everyone, as they started to eat. Everyone but Kali.
"This food is great. Kali, why aren't you eating?" Ezran asked Kali, noticing Kali, just looking at her food. "Ask her." Kali said, as she pointed to Lujanne. "Why? What's your secret?" Ezran asked Lujanne. "Well, my secret is.. Is that it's all fake. That's why Kali won't eat it." Lujanne said to Ezran. "What do you mean?" Callum asked Lujanne. "You know, fake. They're delicious illusions. You're actually eating grubs." Lujanne said to Callum, making everyone, but Ezran and Ellis, freeze.
"Oh, you must mean "Grub." As in, "Wow, this is some good grub."." Ezran said to Lujanne. "No. DO you see what Phoe-Phoe is eating?" Lujanne asked Ezran. They all turned to Phoe-phoe, who was eating her food. "That bowl of worms?" Ezran asked Lujanne. "Yes, that's right. Those are grubs!" Lujanne said, making Callum, Allen, and Drake spit out the food in their mouths, revealing that it was in fact grubs. "Knew it." Kali said. "If you know, why didn't you say anything?" Allen asked Kali. "Didn't feel like I needed to tell you not to trust food made by a liar." Kali said to Drake.
"Please tell me the Pokemon aren't eating grubs too?" Drake asked Lujanne. "No, Vale picked those." Lujanne said to Drake, as Ellis took a bite of the food, even after knowing it was grubs. "I don't care. This illusion pie is the best I've ever had." Ellis said, as Ezran threw up. "There they let it all out." Drake said, rubbing Ezran back.
That's when Rayla showed up. "Hey, everybody." Rayla said to everyone. "Well, you're in a good mood." Ellis said to Rayla. "It does feel good to have two working hands again. Uh.. no offense, Ava." Rayla said to everyone. Ava just barked at Rayla. "I can slish and slash with both swords again! I can clap. Do handstands. I can even do that thing you do when you finish a nice song and dance, you know?" Rayla said to everyone ,as she performed jazz hands. "We'll take it easy, you're still recovering." Kali said to Rayla.
"Whatever, and how's everybody else feeling?" Rayla asked everyone. "Amazing!" Ezran said to Rayla. "Great." Eillis said to Rayla. "Fantastic!" Callum said to Rayla. "Fine." Drake said to Rayla. "Normal." Allen said to Rayla. "Annoyed." Kali said to Rayla. "Good! "Cause it's time to go." Rayla said to everyone. "No augment from me." Kali said, as she got up from the table. "What?" Callum asked Rayla. No! We can't!" Ellis said to Rayla. "Why do we have to go?" Ezran asked Rayla. "We've only been here two days." Callum said to Rayla.
"Danger's coming for us, I know it. The longer we stay here, the higher the risk." Rayla said to Callum. "I agree with Rayla, my strom and those lights from the other nights, our position has been compromised." Drake said to everyone. "Hmm, she's right. The night the Dragon Prince was born… Me, Allen, and Drake sensed something amiss. Those strange purple wisps… Dark forces are pursuing you." Lujanne said to everyone. "Nobody likes dark forces, which is why…" Rayla said, jestorting for them to leave with her two hands.
"Making use of those two hands, huh?" Ezran asked Rayla. "You bet. Besides, we've got precious cargo to deliver. War is coming like the world's never seen, unless we get the wee dragon hime to his mum." Rayla said to everyone, as they turned to watch Zym play with his food, getting it all on Bait. "But Zym, he's so little. He still needs to learn how to fly." Ezran said to Rayla. "Maybe he would already be flying if it wasn't for…" Kali said, before stopping her sentence and looking at Allen and Drake.
"Why are you looking at us?" Allen asked Kali. "Cause I'm sure the crashing the two of you did, while practicing flying, made Zym scared of flying." Kali said to Allen. "Oh come on we weren't so bad." Drake said to Kali. "Exhibit A." Kali said, pointing to a nearby tree with broken branches. "Exhibit B." Kali said, pointing to some cracks in a wall. "Exhibit C." Kali said, pointing to a pile of rubble. "Exhibit D-Z." Kali said, pointing to all the damage around the Moon Nexus.
"Okay, so maybe we're that bad. But that's why we made helmets." Allen said to Kali. "You mean this." Kali said to Allen, as she pulled out a small pile of broken pieces of wood, and dropped it. "Ah yes. I mean that pile of rubble." Allen said to Kali. Zym noticed this and it made him nervous. "Guys you're making Zym nervous." Ezran said to Allen, Drake, and Kali.
"You seem to have a special connection to the dragonling. Perhaps you could teach him to fly?" Lujanne asked Ezran. "Me? I could try." Ezran said to Lujanne. "And we can have Swanna and Braviary help you with that." Drake said to Ezran. "And I was hoping to learn something about Moon Magic while we're here." Callum asked Lujanne. "Hmm. I could show you some things." Lujanne said to Callum. "Hey! I thought you were on my side?" Rayla asked Lujanne. "A few more days, Rayla, that's all we're asking." Callum said to Rayla.
"How about a compromise? You, me, and Drake, go patrol for the day and leave tomorrow. This will allow Ezran and Callum to do their things, then we leave in the morning. And if we see danger, we bail immediately." Allen said to Rayla. "Fine. One extra day. One! But I'm serious about the danger." Rayla said to Allen. "We know you are. Which is why we're going to patrol with you." Allen said to Rayla. "We'll keep patrolling. Everyone else, stay on your toes! Except you. You work on getting off those toes. And Kali, stay with the Dragon Prince." Rayla said to everyone, before walking away. "Gligar." Gligar said following Rayla. "Sure you can come too." Rayla said to Gligar, before walking down some stairs
"Swanna, come on out." Allen said, letting Swanna out of her Pokeball. "You to Braviary." Drake said, letting Braviary out of his Pokeball. "Now we want you two to help Ezran teach Zym how to fly. Can you do that?" Drake asked Swanna and Braviary. The twoo nodded yes. "Perfect. If any of you need us, we'll be in the sky." Allen said, as their staffs lit up. "Later." Drake said to everyone, as he and Allen took off into the sky, going in different directions.
After lunch was over Lujanne and Vale were walking with Callum and Yanma following them. "I can't believe I'm going to learn magic from a real mage!" Callum said in excitement. "How do you know I'm real?" Lujanne asked Callum. "Uh…" Callum said, unsure what to say. "Don't worry, I'm real." Lujanne said to Callum, as she led Callum to some ruins. "This is the moonhenge. Thousands of years ago, when Xadia was one land, the ancient ancestors of Moonshadow elves performed fantastic rituals here. Historia Viventem." Lujanne said to Callum as she drew a white circle, with a half on the left, and a line from the middle to the left, in the air.
Callum braced himself for some magic, but nothing happened. Callum then relaxes. But then a ghost made of stars appeared out of thin air, surprising Callum. Callum watched as the area around him transformed into a star vision, of how it was long ago. With all the agent Moonshadow elves that called his place home walking around.
"The legends say they could use the power of the Nexus to open a portal to another plane. A shimmering world beyond life and death! Some legends say that plane was the birthplace of the Great Dragons." Lujanne said to Callum, as the spirits danced and partied around them. "But it's ruins now. What happened?" Callum asked Lujanne, as the spell ended. "The Moon Druids destroyed it themselves when the Great Dragons divided in two. They decided it was safer to disable this magical place." Lujanne said to Callum. "That's so sad." Callum said to Lujanne.
"Ever since then, there has always been a guardian of the Nexus. A mage, like myself, whose duty is to prevent humans from discovering it." Lujanne said to Callum. "What happens when humans do discover it? Do you…" Callum asked Lujanne, as he did a killing motion with his finger. "Like, kill them?" Callum asked Lujanne. Lujanne just laughed a little. "Nah, why kill them when you can break their brains with insane illusions. I've got some real mind melters. They would completely freak you bean. And you saw a little bit of Vale's illusion with that flood. Interested to see more?" Lujanne asked Callum. "I'll pass." Callum said to Lujanne.
Back with Ezran, Kali, their Pokemon, Leavanny and Musharna, were standing under a rock, with Zym, Swanna, and Braviary on top of the rock. "Okay, it's time to buckle down and get to work. Flying is a natural and beautiful thing. Allow Swanna and Braviary to demonstrate." Ezran said to Zym. Then Swanna and Braviary started to flap their wings and started to fly around, showing off to Zym. Then the two of them stopped in front of Zym, still flying.
"Now, Just cause Swanna and Braviary made it look easy. It doesn't mean it's going to be easy." Ezran said to Zym. "Just out of curiosity? What do you know about flying?" Kali asked Ezran. "I'll show you." Ezran said to Kali. "Ready, Zym? Wings out… and flap!" Ezran said to Zym, flapping his arms. "Come on! You have to flap those wings. Swanna and Braviary show him." Ezran said to Zym, Swanna, and Braviary. Swanna and Braviary then flapped their wings faster. But all this made Zym just tilt his head and fall off the rock.
"Oh, no, are you okay?" Ezran asked Zym. Then they noticed Zym climbing back onto the rock. "One more time. We'll try it nice and slow. Flap…" Ezran said to Zym, holding out his arms. And while Zym tried to flap, he could get his wings to flap. And then he jumped, but he didn't fly, he fell right onto Ezran. "That's not flying but it's a very, very good start." Ezran said to Zym, as Zym lick Ezran's face.
"No it wasn't." Kali said to Ezran, as Swanna and Braviary landed next to her. "Kali, he won't get better if we give him negative feedback." Ezran said to Kali, as Zym stopped licking him. "And he won't get better if we lie about how he is doing. You saw what he just did. He was having a hard time flapping his wings. We need to be honest and help him improve. Not lie to make him feel better." Kali said to Ezran. "You may have a point." Ezran said to Kali. "I know. Now let's try again." Kali said to Ezran, as they got ready to try flying again.
The Castle In Katolis
Back at the Castle, Viren was thinking about what Opeli said, as he made his way to Harrow's room. The room was still tashed and scared by battle. Viren could still hear the battle fighting. All of this made him sit on the bed. And then he noticed a picture frame on the bed. He picked it up to see it was Harrow, Harrows wife, Callum when he was little, and Ezran when he was a baby.
Viren put the picture down, and walked to the desk. Viren then opened a drawer to find a stamp with some books. Viren then picked up the stamp to see it had a carving of two towers and a wall on it. Viren then secretly placed the stamp in his bag. Then he left the room.
The Moon Nexus
At The Moon Nexus Rayla was patrolling with Gligar, while complaining and her weapons out. "Oh, can't we stay a bit longer so I can learn some magic tricks? And, oh, I wanna play around with the wee dragon. And how about a compromise." Rayla said, before scoffing. "Humans! Only the noble elf cares about keeping us all alive apparently." Rayla said. Earning a pinch from Gligar. "And the strong Pokemon." Rayla said to Gligar, making Gligar smile.
"Stay alert Gligar. There's something out here, I know it. Something bad." Rayla said to Gligar, as they heard some rustling. Rayla and Gligar then started to move their way to the source of the rustling, ready for a fight.
But when they reached the spot, they found nothing. But they heard some chatter, coming from behind them. When they turned around, they saw the spider behind them trying to scare them. "Ugh, you again. Save it for someone who cares." Rayla said to the spider, not in the mood for this. Then Rayla and Gligar left the spider.
Meanwhile back with Ezran, Kali and the Pokemon, they were still working on getting Zym to fly, now with Ellis, Ava, and Midnight joining the group. "And we're back. This time we're here with a special guest. She's mystical, magical, moonpowered and she knows how to fly like Swanna, and Braviary. Please welcome Phoe-Phoe!" Ezran said to Zym, as he gestured to Phoe-Phoe, who was now on the rock. "Ready, Phoe-Phoe? Show him how it's done." Ezran said to Phoe-Phoe. Phoe-Phoe then started to flap her wings.
"See? It's easy." Ezran said to Zym. Zym then chirped and tried to flap his wings. "Yes! Yes, that's right!." Ezran said to Zym. Ezran then grabbed Zym, and lifted him into the air. "Now, I'm going to show you what flying feels like." Ezran said, as he started to run around with Zym above his head, while Ellis clapped and Zym flapped his wings. "Can you feel it? Can you feel the whoosh of the air beneath your wings?" Ezran asked Zym. Zym chittered in response.
While Ezran did this, Kali giggled at the silliness of it, but noticed it was working a little. "He's doing it! He's amazing!" Ellis said to Ezran. "Yes, yes! You can do this!" Ezran said to Zym, before stopping and tossing Zym. but Zym didn't fly like Ezran thought, instead Zym crashed into some bushes. This made everyone gasp. "Ezran, you killed the Dragon Prince!" Ellis said to Ezran. "Oh, no! I'm so stupid! Oh, no, no, no!" Ezran said, panicking. "Ezran, pull yourself together." Kali said, as she panicked. "Leavanny" Leavanny said, as she ran to the bush, and moved some of the brush. Leavanny." Leavanny gently said, as she pulled out an unhurt Zym with a mouth full of leaves.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to hurt you, I promise. Are you okay?" Ezran asked Zym, as Leavanny helped Zym out of the bush. Zym spit out the leaves and let out a happy chirp. "I think that means he's okay." Kali said to Ezran. "It did." Ezran said to Kali.
Meanwhile Lujanne was leading Callum, Vale, and Yanma up to a lookout point. "Though Primal Energy is everywhere, it may be weaker or stronger at different times and places. The ocean is strongest at high tide, Sky is strongest in a storm, and the moon is strongest-" Lujanne said, but Callum interrupted her. "When it's full!" Callum said to Lujanne. "Please don't interrupt, but, yes. And there is more. There are six special places where the magic of Primal Energies are most pure and powerful in this world. Such a place is called a Nexus. This is the Moon Nexus." Lujanne said to Callum, as they reached a super large lake.
Callum took in the view of the sparkling lake, and noticed the nests of sleeping Pokemon all around it. "It reflects the moon perfectly. When the moon is full, the light completely fills the lake. I've even noticed the Pokemon that live here sleep during the day, and relax and play by the lake at night." Lujanne said to Callum. "I love this. I love learning about magic. But I wanted you to teach me to do some Moon Magic." Callum said to Lujanne, making Lujanne frown.
"You know, maye some hands-on learning. We get in there, you show me how to do a moon beam, a moon ray, a moon… shine?" Callum asked Lujanne. "Humans can't do magic." Lujanne said to Callum. "Um… but I did do magic." Callum said to Lujanne. "Right, with a Primal Stone. But then you smashed it, so now you're just a standard human again. Ah, but look on the bright side, you've got those extra fingers. The little ones, what do you call them? Pinkos!" Lujanne said to Callum, as she waved her hand in the air.
"But I know other humans who do magic." Callum said to Lujanne. "We do not call that practice magic. It's an atrocity." Lujanne said, getting a little bit mad. "This can't be. I thought magic was my thing. I was good at it." Callum said to Lujanne. Lujanne then smiled. "It looks like you could use some cake." Lujanne said, pulling a glowing light blue cake out of thin air. "That's really a plate of worms." Callum said, not in the mood for her jokes. But Lujanne found it funny and tossed the cake away, making it hit the ground, making a broken plate sound.
"Ah, you're too smart for old Lujanne's illusions! How about some nice old-fashioned iced-cream? Hmm?" Lujanne asked Callum, pulling out a bowl of red ice-cream out of thin air again. Callum just groaned. "Worms again." Callum said.
Sometime later the gang all meet up near the table. Rayla and Gligar were the first ones to arrive. Then Allen and Drake landed nearby "Anything?" Rayla asked the twins. "Nothing. But that still doesn't mean we're safe." Allen said to Rayla. "Right." Rayla said to Allen, as Ezran, Kali, Zym, and the Pokemon with them showed up. "So, he had a whole day of training. Can he fly now?" Rayla asked Ezran. "No, not yet. I'm doing my best, Rayla. And so are you. I know you are." Ezran said to Rayla and Zym, before playing with Zym's cheeks.
"Well we could toss him off a cliff. He'll have to fly then." Allen said, earning a mean look from Ezran, Rayla and Kali. "What?! Birds do it all the time! And even some Pokemon do it!" Allen said to everyone. "Where not throwing him off a cliff." Kali said to Allen. "Well, either way, we've leaving tomorrow. There's danger coming, I know it. We have to get moving." Rayla said to everyone. "Then we should all get some rest." Ezran said to Rayla. "Nope, not for me. I'm going out on patrol again. One more perimeter check." Rayla said to Ezran.
"Rayla, you've been checking the perimeter all day. Maybe you should rest and let the Pokemon have a turn. After all There probably a few Pokemon that live here, whose job is to patrol this place at night." Kali said to Rayla. "Still going." Rayla said, as she started to back away, and right into Callum. But instead of saying sorry, she just got more on guard. "I'm going to keep an eye on her." Allen said to everyone, as he flew after Rayla, with Gligar following him into the air.
Once the three of them left, Callum laid on the ground. "Tough day?" Ezran said, as he and everyone else sat down around them. "You could say that." Callum said to Ezran. "Us too. Lots of jumping and flapping, but no flying. But we'll get it. No matter how impossible it seems. We believe in ourself, and we're not giving up, are we?" Ezran said to Callum and asked Zym. "Know what? Neither am I." Callum said, as he got up and walked away. "I'll go with him." Drake said to everyone, following Callum.
The Castle In Katolis
Back at the Castle, Viren was carrying a plate of letters with the same symbol as the stamp he took, used to seal the letters with wax. Where Viren carried this plate was to one of the towers that had a room full of crows "Crow Lord." Viren said, as he entered the room, to see a young man with light tan skin, short black hair that went up and over his head, wearing black robes.
And on this man's shoulder was a black bird, with fluffy tail with a small red strap on the base of it, tan legs and talons with white claws on all the digits of talons, white eyes with red irises, a tan beck with the upper beck being a little bit longer and curve down, and some feathers on its head that looked like a hat with three spikes.
"Crow Lord. You! Sir! Crow Lord!" Viren said, getting the man and bird's attention. "Murkrow." The bird said as it took off high into the ceiling. "Oh! Sorry, I heard you calling for the Crow Lord. uh, he's not here right now." the man said, taking a seat, as the desk in the room. "Then, who are you?" Viren asked the man. "Oh! Well, I'm… I'm the Crow Master." the man said to Viren, earning a look from Viren. "It's sort of like… Assistant Crow Lord. I just got promoted." Crow Master said to Viren.
"Congratulations. Are you able to send the mail?" Viren asked the Crow Master. "Sure! Sure, of course!" Crow Master said to Viren. Viren then just passed the plate to the Crow Master. "Oh, um… hmm. These… these seem to bear the king's seal." Crow Master said to Viren look at the letters. "Yes." Viren said, not showing any emotion. 'Well, uh… yikes. Uh, the king is… you know…" Crow Master said to Viren, unable to speak. "I can't send these." Crow Master said to Viren, pushing the plate away.
"Hmm. I understand your dilemma. You were recently promoted, yes? And you are trying to do a good job?" Viren asked the Crow Master. "Yes. Yes, exactly." Crow Master said to Viren. "Right, well let me be perfectly clear, Crow Master. You will send these to the leaders of the other four kingdoms immediately." Viren said to the Crow Master, slamming his hands onto the desk intimidating the Crow Master. "If you refuse, you will also be… you know." Vrien said to the Crow Master. "Um, now that I think about it, I'm just gonna go ahead and take care of these for you." Crow Master said to Viren. "Mmm, I thought you might." Viren said to the Crow Master, before leaving.
Then second he was gone, Abigail poked her head from another sentence to the room. Abigail then took in a breath, and walked into the room with Piplup and a basket of bread. "Evening Crow Master, I brought you some bread." Abigail said as she placed a basket of fruit on the desk. "Even some banana bread for Murkrow." Abigail said, pulling out a loaf of bread. Abigail then looked around. "Where's Murkrow?" Abigail asked the Crow Master. "He's up there." Crow Master said to Abigail, as he pointed up. Abigail then looked up to see Murkrow hiding.
"What's he doing up there?" Abigail asked the Crow Master. "Viren scared him." Crow Master said to Abigail. "Oh poor Murkrow." Abigail said. "Hey Murkrow, got your favorite bread here." Abigail said to Murkrow. "Murkrow." Murkrow said, looking around. "It's okay, the big bag Viren is gone." Abigail said to Murkrow. "Piplup." Piplup said to Murkrow. "Murkrow." Murkrow said, as he slowly flew down. Abigail then placed the bread down on the table. Murkorw looked around to see if Viren was gone. Once he knew it was safe, he landed on the desk and started to eat the bread.
"What was Viren doing here anyway?" Abigail asked the Crow Master. "He wanted me to send these ladders out." Crow Master said to Abigail, holding one in the air. Abigail noticed the king's seal on it, and a frown formed on her face. "All right then. See you tomorrow Crow Master." Abigail said to the Crow Master, before she and Piplup left.
Once they were in the hall, Abigail turned to Piplup. "We need to inform Opeli about this." Abigail said to Piplup. "Piplup." Piplup said shaking her head no. "And why not?" Abigail asked Piplup. Piplup then pretended to have her soul ripped out of her body, and died. "Fair point Viren is a dark mage. He can kill us. Will have to wait, when he is gone. Which could be a while. But still I don't like this, and why would he use the king's seal on a letter anyway?" Abigail asked. "Piplup?" Piplup said, not knowing the answer either.
The Moon Nexus
Back at The Moon Nexus, Callum, Drake, Yanma, and Vale, were sitting in front of a temple, waiting for Lujanne to come back from patrol, with Phoe-Phoe in front of a temple. After waiting for a bit, Lujanne and Phoe-Phoe landed near the entrance of the temple. "You're wrong." Callum said to Lujanne, getting Lujanne's attention. "Callum! What are you and Drake doing here? It's late." Lujanne asked them. "I'm never giving up." Callum said to Lujanne, as he got up and walked to Lujanne. "Callum…" Lujanne said to Callum.
"Growing up, I was supposed to learn horseback riding, sword fighting, archery, battle tactics, but I was so bad at everything." Callum said to Lujanne. "But then, you didn't give up? And you got good?" Lujanne asked Callum. "No, he just gave up. But in all fairness, he did try his hardest, but was still terrible." Drake said to Lujanne, still sitting down. "I wasn't that bad Drake." Callum said to Drake. "Need I remind you of the time you could hit the side of a barn you were in." Drake said to Callum.
"Fare point." Callum said to Drake. "But then I tried magic, and it felt right. It felt like I was finally good at something. I will learn magic. It's who I am." Callum said to Lujanne, as he gave some love to Phoe-Phoe. "Hmm. I admire your determination. But learning magic is not your destiny. You can't do Primal Magic because you weren't born connected to a Primal Source." Lujanne said to Callum.
"I don't get it. What do you mean, "connected"?" Callum asked Lujanne. "Yes please explain." Drake asked Lujanne, finally getting up . "In Xadia, all creatures are born connected to a Primal Source." Lujanne said to them, as she got off Phoe-Phoe. "They have a piece of it inside them. We call that piece an arcanum." Lujanne said to them. "Wait, what's an arcanum?" Callum asked Lujanne. "It's like.. The secret of the Primal, or its meaning." Lujanne said, as they looked at the half moon in the sky. "The secret of the Primal?" Callum asked Lujanne.
"Yes. That secret becomes a spark. The tiniest possible flicker of a Primal Source inside you. But enough to ignite the world with it's magic." Lujanne said to them. "All right, so what is it? What's the arcanum of the moon?" Callum asked Lujanne. "It;s something I just… know. It's not easily put into words." Lujanne said to Callum. "Well, try. Please." Callum asked Lujanne. "Very well. The arcanum of the moon is about understanding the relationship between appearances and reality." Lujanne said, as her voice started to echo and a second Lujanne appeared.
"Most people believe that reality is truth and appearances are deceiving. But those of us who know the moon arcanum understand we can only truly know the appearance itself. You can never touch the so-called reality that lies just beyond the reach of your own perception." Lujanne said to everyone. "Well now I know why Kali hates you." Drake said to Lujanne, as Callum rubbed his eyes. "I'm confused." Callum asked, after finishing rubbing his eyes.
"I don't blame you. After all, you're only human." Lujanne said to Callum, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Rude. I'm human and I get it." Drake said to Lujanne. "Oh and what is it?" Lujanne asked Drake. "You said that understanding the moon is like understanding what is true. That the only thing real is the appearance. Like how you can only see half the moon right now. You know that half is real but not the half that's missing. And for someone like Kali who looks for the real truth, you settle for the appearance of truth. Like your spider, to you it's true because you can see it. But to Kali, it's a shadow, a lie." Drake said to Lujanne.
"Hmm. not bad." Lujanne said to Drake. "Get it now Callum?" Drake asked Callum. Only to notice Callum and Yanma were gone. "I guess he left, while I was talking." Drake said. "I'm sorry If I'm doing rube, but I had to be honest with him. It's impossible for him to do magic." Lujanne said to Drake. "Impossible. Lujanne if there's one thing I know for sure. Is that nothing, is truly impossible? After all, I can do this." Drake said to Lujanne, before glowing black.
When the black faded, Drake was in the form was in, the night Zym was born. "And this is impossible." Drake said to Lujanne. "Yes, but you're a special case. You and brother have powers I have never seen before. There's no telling what you can do or what you can become." Lujanne said, as Drake glowed black and turned back into his normal form. "True. but back in my world, people have done the impossible. Like setting foot on the moon for example." Drake said to Lujanne, pointing to the moon, while walking away.
The idea of Humans reaching the moon and setting foot on it, broke Lujanne a little bit, and made freeze, while looking at the moon.
Back with Callum. He did bail before Drake talked to Lujanne, and made his way to the room they were all sleeping in. with Ellis, and Kali, sleeping on one side of the room, with a spare bed on their side. And Ezran sleeping on the other side of the room, with a few extra empey beds on this side. The Pokemon were all scattered around the room, sleeping. And Bait and Zym were in the bed with Ezran, while Ava slept in the same bed as Ellis.
Callum then quietly and slowly moved to Ezran bed, trying not to step on a Pokemon. Once on the bed, Callum pulled the cube out from his bag, and looked at it. He then held the cube's Sky rune near Zym, and as expected it glowed for him. Callum then turned the cube to it's Sun rune, and pointed it at Bait, and again it glowed. But then Callum turned it back to the Sky rune, and pointed at himself, and disapponely nothing happened, but Callum wasn't surprised by this. Callum then layed down and tried to sleep, but his mind was still all over the place.
Back outside Rayla was walking around, when she heard a faint gentle sound. The sound was making Rayla sleepy, every sleepy. So much so that she lost her balance and fell against a tree. But Rayla just got back up and kept walking. She then noticed a blue rose bush as she passed it, and turned around and walked towards it. Then as the sound got louder, Rayla picked a flower and fell against a rock, totally out cold.
Then out of the shadows, Cluadia and Soren appeared, and looked over the sleeping Rayla. "Do it." Claudia said to Soren. Soren then drew his sword and got ready to strike. "Gligar." Gligar said, as she appeared out of nowhere with her claws shining silver. Claudia and Soren noticed this and backed up, right before Gligar hit the ground. Gligar then got right in front of Rayla, ready for a fight.
Then a steam of fire, head streat for them from above, causing Claudia and Soren to move to back even more. Then Allen came crashing down from the sky right in front of Rayla, and got into a protective stance, with this staff in his right hand. "Allen?!" Soren and Claudia said at the same time, shocked to see him protect Rayla. "Soren. Claudia. It's been a while. So who's first?" Allen asked them, as he tightened his grip on this staff, making it's end glow red, and hum a little, letting them know he was ready for a fight.
