Natsu joined up with the trio from Fairy Trail as they are now set on the mission to stop Eisenwald but just as they believed that their mission was over. It turns out that Lullaby is in the possession of Kageyama who is on his way to Clover Town where all the guild masters have gathered for their conference meeting.
Currently, Natsu is riding on the magic transport vehicle that Erza and her gang brought with them. The salmon haired mage hangs his head out and sees the view outside before he went back in and begins to give some quick maintenance to Revol.
While Natsu is doing so, Gray and Lucy looks at him before to each other.
"What is it?" Natsu spoke out as he glances at the two while his hands begin to disassemble Revol piece by piece. "Staring at someone like he doesn't know? got something to say to me?"
"w-well…it's just…" Lucy spoke while scratching her chin with an awkward smile on her face. "you're a magic knight of Fiore and…"
"you're different from the rest." Gray interjected while leaning against the side of his seat. "Usually, people like you always come and arrest mages no matter where they're from."
"hey, Gray!" Lucy looks at Gray in surprise.
"that's what all other mages say about me at first." Natsu said as he checks all the pieces of his magic gun before he begins to reassemble it piece by piece with a single motion. "I don't mind."
Lucy and Gray looked at Natsu as they felt that he really meant what he just said.
"It's true that some magic knights don't like to work with mages for certain matters, but me, my team, and my friend and his team don't have the same idea." Natsu said as he inserts several magic bullets into Revol's Chamber before he locks it and then takes out Ver that he disassembles and gives maintenance. "Hell, before you guys. I've already done some teamwork with mages from other guilds." He looks up while scratching his chin. "some notable ones would be like those from Lamia Scale, Blue Pegasus, and some others." he shrugs his shoulders and then focuses on reassembling his second magic gun. "you guys do things crazy, and I got no complaints about that since I do crazy things on my job as well."
"you're kinda….different, huh?" Lucy said and Natsu shrugs his shoulders once again while finishing reassembling Ver and then proceeds to restock the weapon's ammo.
"Everyone! We're almost at the end of the valley!" Erza shouted as Natsu and the others peeks their heads out the windows and sees that they are almost reaching the end of the railway on the valley before entering a forest area. "seems that shadow mage got a very quick head start than us!"
"no kidding." Natsu said before he checks his pocket watch. "damn, I'm gonna be late." He sighs while adjusting the bandana around his head. "Cosmos is gonna give me the cold shoulders tomorrow."
"Cosmos?" Lucy asks, curiously after hearing a girl's name from the magic knight captain.
"My girlfriend." Natsu replied before he pointed a finger at the air by the forest. "look there! I see smoke there!"
Everyone looks at where Natsu is pointing and spotted the trail of smoke flying in the air.
"think that the guy crashed his vehicle?" Gray asks.
"only one way to find out" Erza replied before pushing the throttle and the magic vehicle's speed increased.
Ten minutes later. In the forest.
There is a burning wreckage of a magic transport vehicle that had crashed against some trees that have burned out and leaving a trail of smoke flying into the air.
Natsu and the others came near as they had parked their vehicle near the wreckage.
"seems that your guess was right, Gray." Erza said as she checks the burning wreckage for any signs of its driver or Lullaby. "the shadow mage must've accidently crashed his vehicle and must be on foot now."
"or in the shadows." Lucy stated while pointing a finger up. "remember how he could sink into the shadows and move so fast in it?"
"no need to remind us." Gray said as he once fought against the dark mage on the train that departed Onibas Station.
"so he's moving in the shadows and heading straight to where the Guild Masters are holding their conference meeting." Natsu spoke while pulling his cigar away from his lips and then looked to the sky. "seeing how much have burned from the wreckage, the vehicle must've crashed about 10-15 minutes ago." He put his cigar back to his lips and sucks in a puff of smoke then swallowed. "I'd say he got another head start than us."
"Then we should pick up time and chase after him." Erza said as everyone heads back to their magic vehicle. "if we don't get him in time.." She lost her footing and fell forward. "ah?"
"Erza!?" Lucy gasps while Gray quickly catches her.
"hey, you're really weak!" the blueish black haired teen exclaimed while holding up Erza. "I knew it! you overdid it, didn't you!? You used up too much magic fueling the magic vehicle!"
"I-I'm fine!" Erza grunted while trying to get back up. "I'm just.."
"You're too exhausted, Erza!" Lucy cried out. "from Onibas straight to here. you used too much of your magic!"
"I'm alright, I just.." Erza tried to complain but Natsu stops her by getting on the magic transport vehicle and attaches the SE plug to his right arm. "Why are you?"
"I got it, just get on." Natsu said as he turns the engine on by pumping his magic. "We got no time for complaining so get on and let's finish this job."
Erza looks a bit adamant at first before she nodded and then gets on the vehicle with Gray and Lucy.
Natsu pulls a rod and then push it forward, the engine revs up and the wheels begin to spin fast before the vehicle went off.
Some hours later, nighttime.
at Clover Town in the forest area, Kageyama runs passed some trees before he got near a cliff where he spotted the Guild Master's Meeting Hall.
"finally…finally, the time has come!" Kageyama grins as he held up the Lullaby Flute in his grasp, the dark mage planning to play the curse of death item in his hands. But just as he was about to go to the conference hall, he heard kissing and laughing sound from behind which surprised him. Kageyama turns around and finds Makarov Dreyar; Fairy Tail Guild Master sitting on a tree stump while holding a Weekly Sorcerer's magazine in hand.
"these girls are real eyecatchers! Young mage these days sure have levelled up their skills and looks!" Makarov said with a perverted smile at the photos in the magazine before he sighs in satisfaction. "Gravures are the best~!"
Makarov soon closed the magazine and recomposed himself while shaking his head.
"I don't have such time for such things!" Makarov exclaimed as he rolled up the magazine in his hands before folding both hands behind his back "I must go back to the hall an- ?!" he turns around and saw Kageyama who awkwardly looks at him. "ah!?" he begins to shake his hands around. "no wait! It's a misunderstanding! I've just been using this for studies! I didn't look at the magazine photos with a perverted look, okay!"
"you don't need to justify.." Kageyama thought as he sighs before realizing who Makarov is "isn't this guy Fairy Tail's Master, Makarov?!"
Meanwhile, the magic transport vehicle came to a stop near the conference hall as Natsu and the others are running around in the forest while trying to spot Kageyama.
"What should we do, Erza!?" Gray asks. "should we split up into two?"
"yeah! One finds that Kageyama person while the other warns the guild masters!?" Lucy added in.
"yes, that's a good decision. First is…" Erza replied and she was about to say who should be in which group but she was stopped by Natsu who stops in his tracks. "what's wrong?"
"there!" Natsu exclaimed as he points a finger at the forest nearby where he spotted Kageyama and Makarov. "is that the guy?"
"ah! and Master too!" Lucy gasps.
"GRAMPS!" Gray shouted. "get away from him, GRAMPS!"
"he's too far away!" Erza exclaimed before she started running straight to where Kageyama and Makarov are at. "Let's go!"
Everyone begins running but just as they were about to come near, they were stopped by a fat bald man wearing strange outfits and have fake angel wings on his back.
"stop right there~!" the man spoke out while smiling as his sudden appearance surprised everyone.
"w-who!?" Lucy screams.
"you are….Blue Pegasus' Master Bob!" Erza stated, recognizing the man who came near Gray who is shivering in fright.
"ah! Erza-chan~! Long time no see~!" Bob greeted Erza before he gives a wink at Gray's direction, the man shivers with a disgusted look. "By the way, you look so cute! so my type!"
"wait! He's that Blue Pegasus' Master?!" Lucy said in shock while watching how Bob is hugging Gray who is trying to run away
"hey, be quiet." A voice spoke as everyone turns to see a man wearing glasses, a wizard had, and sunglasses, along with purple t-shirt and black jeans, "the best part is going to come."
"Master Oldmine!?" Erza exclaimed in surprise.
"Quatro Cerberus' Master!" Lucy stated, knowing the man.
"be quiet and just watch as Makarov gives the kid a lecture" Oldmine spoke while leaning against a tree.
Everyone was confused at first before they looked and see Makarov speaking to Kageyama who is listening to his voice.
"so just give up." Makarov spoke. "but just because I told you to give it up, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to see something new." He smiles while nodding. "everyone can grow, it's only the matter if they want to or not."
Kageyama looks at Makarov before he drops the flute and then fell to his knees while doing a dogeza to the short old man.
"I've lost!" Kageyama spoke out in a sincere and defeated voice.
Makarov nodded before he hears some noise and turns in shock because Erza along with Gray and Lucy came running to him.
"Master!" they shouted in unison as Erza hugged the old man's head to her chest plate and a loud bang is heard.
"It's Hard!" Makarov had a red bulge on his head before looking at everyone "why are you all here!?"
"it's a long story!" Erza said before she nodded. "but all that matters is that you are safe!"
Erza begins to explain things to Makarov while Natsu went to Kageyama with a pair of anti magic handcuffs in hand. The salmon haired mage pulled the dark mage's hands to his back and then cuff them.
"so you're with the magic knight?" Oldmine spoke as he and Bob came near Natsu. "you were tasked with a mission to capture them?"
"You can say that." Natsu said as he let Kageyama be for a moment. He adjusts his belt while pulling away his now dead cigar that he burns into ashes. "the Minister of Defense thinks that it's time for the magic knights to step up their game and do some work for the people in order to get them to rely on them instead of you guys." He shrugs his shoulders. "basically saying, you guys need to watch out."
"Thanks for the advice." Oldmine said with a small smile while crossing his arms on his chest. "but you sure that you wanted to give such advice to us?"
"better to have more rivals than to have none." Natsu shrugs his shoulders before Bob came and hugs him. "ah!?"
"ahh~! You're such a nice and good man~! I like you~!" Bob squeals while Natsu is pushing him away.
As the happy atmosphere continues, they didn't notice nor realize that the Lullaby flute started to glow a purplish colour while purple light flashes from its three eyes.
"I HAD ENOUGH OF YOU, SMALL FRIES!" a voice shouted as the flute flied up and soon unleashed a huge flash of violet light.
"w-what's going on?!" Lucy cried out.
"this is!?" Erza gasps as the light slowly dies down and they all see a large wooden demonic monster that stands nearly 70-80 feet tall.
"what the!?" Gray exclaimed in shock.
"it transformed?!" Lucy exclaimed in shock.
"I never knew about this!" Kageyama exclaimed, being the most shocked to know that the small wooden flute became a large monster.
"that's Lullaby, a Living Magic created by the Black Wizard, Zeref." Oldmine said as he looks at the giant wooden monster.
"Zeref, the black mage of death, he made dangerous magic that the council are extremely afraid of" Bob said with a frightened looking look.
"Now then! whose soul shall I eat first!?" Lullaby grins while stomping one of its large foot down in causing the land to tremor.
"seems that I'm really going to be late in coming back home." Natsu said as he takes out a new cigar and put its on his lips. He then pulls out both Revol and Ver from the holsters. "hey, you guys. Want to work together to take this thing down?"
"wait, you want to fight it!?" Lucy exclaims in shock.
"if we don't, this thing will go and stomp us." Gray said while grabbing his shirt and then stripping it off in one go. "we can't tell what it will do if it goes on a rampage!"
"Agreed." Erza said while summoning two magic swords into her grasp. "if we let this thing go loose, who knows what damage it will inflict upon the nearby town."
"Then let's do this." Natsu said before he dashes into the battle first and Erza with Gray follows after.
"go~! Go~!" Lucy cheered from the sidelines.,
"aren't you going to help?" Kageyama asks while sweatdropping.
Lullaby roars before it fires a laser beam at the trio who dodges.
Natsu runs to the side and then aims both Revol and Ver at the large wooden monster before firing multiple shots that barrage its wooden frame.
Gray came from the other side as the man slams his hands together in a pose while cold air gathers around him.
"Ice Make!" Gray chanted before he swung his hands forward to create a white magic circle that unleashed a barrage of ice spears at Lullaby. "Lance!"
"Impudent insects!" Lullaby roars and then swung a fist down at Natsu who dodges then fires back. "I'll crush you all!"
Erza came jumping into the air while her armor shines a golden light.
"Requip!" Erza's armor changes into that of silver knight with wings that had swords flying around it. "Tenrin no Yoroi!" she then flies pass Lullaby with her swords. "Blumenblatt!"
"arrghhh!" Lullaby roars in pain as a chunk of its mouth got cut apart.
"hey, you giant toothpick!" Natsu shouted as he charges fire into Revol and Ver's barrel chambers before unleashing two powerful fire blast. "eat this!"
"raaahh!" Lullaby roars before it raises a fist and then swung it down at Natsu who dodges. "that hurts, you bug!"
"Ice Make!" Gray exclaimed as he created a big wheel of ice that went flying and hits Lullaby's back side. "Saucer!"
The three mages went on the attack on a barrage as they caused heavy explosions upon the demonic wooden monster's large form.
"Not bad." Oldmine said in seeing how both Erza and Gray are working in good sync with Natsu. "That magic knight can work well with your mages, Makarov."
"yeah, it's so wonderful~!" Bob swooned.
Makarov nodded while watching on how Natsu gets a boost to the air by Gray who made an ice catapult that he got on.
"You god damn worms!" Lullaby roars as the monster slams its hands together and then pulls them apart in creating a huge magic circle that appears above its head. "It's time for you all to die!"
"it's coming!" Kageyama cried out.
"what?! what's coming!?" Lucy cries out.
"it's death curse! It's going to use its death magic and that means we're all dead!" Kageyama shouted. "it's all over!"
"it's only over when I say so!" Natsu's voice shouted out as everyone turns and sees the fire mage flying in the air with fire thrusters below his feet, the magic knight then aims both of his magic guns down at Lullaby, both of their barrels are burning red in fire. "it's time to burn, you piece of deadfall!"
BANG BANG BANG BANG!
Dozens of rapid blasts of fire rains down upon Lullaby that gets bombarded in dozens of explosions.
"you puny insect!" Lullaby stops its magic and turns to face Natsu whose magic guns still burns red in fire. "Just Die!"
Natsu aims both guns down and fires streams of flames that barraged against Lullaby's face and cause a big explosion.
"so powerful!" Lucy gasps in seeing the explosion.
Lullaby growls as it blows away the smoke that charred its wooden face.
"that hurt, you puny insect!" Lullaby roared out as it turns to look at where Natsu is but it notices a red magic circle on its chest that is glowing brightly. "w-what is this?"
"eat this! Karyu no!" Natsu flies straight for the wooden monster before he spins and delivers a flaming dive kick that hits the magic circle on Lullaby's chest before it ignites and then cause an explosion. "Kenkaku!"
"Raaahh!" Lullaby roars in pain as its whole body gets burned in the red flames.
"Erza! Let's do this!" Gray shouted while creating a large ice cannon in his grasp.
"right!" Erza exclaimed while her Armor changes into that of a black armor with bat like wings. "Kureha no Yoroi!"
Natsu keeps on burning Lullaby with his fire before he notices the increasing magic power sensation coming from Erza and Gray. He smirks a bit and then puts more juice into his fire that bursts even more upon Lullaby.
"Attack at once!" Erza shouted.
"Karyu no Rengoku!" "Ice Cannon!" "Kureha! Gessen!"
Natsu ignites his fire till it burns blue, Gray unleashes a huge blast of ice, and Erza unleashes a powerful magic slash.
The three magic attacks collided with one another and when the blast hits Lullaby, the wooden monster roars in pain before it gets erased from existence in a big explosion.
Lucy and everyone else shielded their eyes from seeing a big bright explosion that could be seen from miles away.
A minute later, the explosion died down and everyone opened their eyes to see a big and deep burned crater where at the center lies the Lullaby Flute that had reverted after its demonic form has been defeated.
Lullaby has a crack around its skull and Natsu soon came landing near it. the Salamander's Captain is down on one knee before he rises while placing away his magic guns into their holsters.
"that's the end for that toothpick." Natsu said as he went and picked up the object. "now it's a mission complete." he then looks up before jumping straight out of the crater. "I can finally.."
Natsu soon stops in his tracks as he finds that he finds no signs of anyone.
"where did everyone go?" Natsu asks as he looks around and soon finds a large mob chasing after the Fairy Tail members. "what the hell?"
"seems that you got it done, huh?" a voice asks as Natsu turns to see Oldmine and Bob coming by. "you missed the fun part of Makarov and his kids getting chased for over doing things."
"well, you were also responsible in a way." Bob added in with a smile.
"huh?" Natsu looks confused before he gets the explanation that the explosion had destroyed the building used by the Guild Master's conference meeting and that leads to the other guild masters angry at Fairy Tail.
"well, things end in a good way for all of us." Oldmine said before he turns to see a squadron of magic knights coming. "well mostly for a few."
"I guess so." Natsu said before he checks the time and sighs with a rather frustrated looking face that soon turns tired. "ah, I won't be able to come home in time at all." he facepalms. "I should've come with my team instead on my own." He begins walking towards the squadron of magic knights. "I should try to find some nice sour sweets for her, so that she won't give me the cold shoulders too much."
With that, the battle against Eisenwald and Lullaby came to an end.
