Vassal House Overview
House Woolford: House Woolford is ancient First Men House who once ruled over most of the land surrounding the White Knife. Though an ancient house of the First Men they are still quite young compared to Houses such as the Starks or Boltons. They are known for their exceptional hunters and trackers who are excellent harassing forces during winter. Though they did once rule over most of the land around the White Knife, that changed around 800 years ago. The Woolfords had joined the Bolton's in the Last Bolton Rebellion. During this period of history, they had close ties to House Bolton and some even suspect them being a branch family. After the defeat of the Bolton's and Woolfords much of their former territory was ceded to House Greystark. They currently rule from their ancestral seat of Snowford which is located next to the White Knife before it splits into its tributary rivers. Snowford is a standard Motte and Bailey castle with its high wooden walls though the keep has seen some renovation as the keep has been replaced with stone. They currently rule over more a scattering of villages and even a small town next to the castle. The town itself is still in its infancy with just a population shy of 2000 souls, While it is unknown how many men, they can call upon they can still provide their overlords with hunters and even trackers for a campaign. They may have weakened over these years, but they are still strong economically. The Woolfords main source of wealth is the river trade they receive on incoming ships coming up the White Knife and mainly trade goods such as furs, fish, wool from their shepherds, and taxes they receive from the river trade. The House has been known to hold a rivalry with their overlords since they lost much of their territory though they have become more amicable to the current generation of Greystarks. Though you never know with a House whose words are As Gentle as a Lamb, yet Ferocious as a Wolf.

House Greene: House Greene is a relatively newer House which was founded by a man-at-arms who served with Brandon and Barthogan Greystark during the War of the Ninepenny Kings. The current lord of House Greene is Lord Ignas Greene. Formerly a soldier of House Greystark, he distinguished himself through battle in the early campaigns in the Stepstones. Currently he rules from a manor house in a village close to White Harbor alongside the White Knife. They do not possess a lot of military strength besides what men Ignas has been able to train.

House Greenwood: House Greenwood once resided in the Wolfswood alongside their Blackwood kin. During the Wars of Unification in the North they were ousted from their ancestral keep in the Wolfswood as the Winter Kings fought to gain dominance in that region. Unlike their Blackwood kin they continued to reside in the North and did not flee south. They settled alongside the eastern coast just south of Ramsgate and the Broken Branch. They would name their settlement Greentree. During the Bolton Rebellion they sided with the Greystarks. They rule from their castle of Greentree which is one of the more fortified castles of the Greystarks vassals. With access to the sea trade, they have built up there seat. It has 2 sea towers looking over the harbor and can lift a sea chain to prevent enemy ships from docking in the harbor. The seawall of the harbor is made of stone. The harbor itself can field up to 20 warships and has room to fit merchant ships as they unload the goods to head to White Harbor along the Greene road. The curtain walls of the castle surround the entirety of the small town and even stretch to both sides of the harbor encasing it into its toney protections from a siege by land. The stone walls are around 15 feet high and 4 feet wide. The keep itself is smaller, around the size of the Wolfsden. While it is made of stone the keep has been in a state of disrepair for some time. The town itself has only a population between 4,000 – 6,000 people. Their main source of income is from their trade route with White Harbor. They help the Greystarks transport furs, timber, and even fish to the Free Cities such as Bravos and Lorath. Unlike their southern cousins the Greenwoods primarily focus on infantry. They can call upon between 500-1000 men equipped similarly to their Greystark overlords though of poorer quality.

House Whitewood: House Whitewood was formed by a bastard son of House Greenwood. They were once vassals to House Greenwood before the Woolfords conquered the western coast just shy of Ramsgate. House Whitewood rules from their seat of Stonetree. It is located about halfway between White Harbor and Greentree along the Greene road. The castle itself is more of a small fort with some villages they rule close to their keep. Stonetree is a small wooden fort with a wooden palisade and a small keep on a hill overlooking the Greene road. The Whitewoods are tasked with keeping the Greene road and surrounding areas free of bandit activity. As bandits will disrupt trade from the eastern to western coasts of the Greystarks domain. They are known to use light calvary to deal with the bandits and are known to be good outriders and scouts. The military strength of House Whitewood is all calvary as they must be swift to deal with any bandit excursions. The total number of men they can field is around 200-400 light calvary. They are one of the poorer houses sworn to House Greystark as most of their income comes from the tolls, they emplace on the Greene road. The armament of their forces is light plate armor for the soldiers while being equipped with a light lance, calvary shield, barbuta helmet, and even some bows and arrows used from horseback.

House Stonel: House Stonel derives its origins from the first miner who discovered the silver mines located throughout the Greystarks domain. The Stonels grew rich from the silver they mined while paying most of it the Greystarks. In later years the Greystarks would uplift the miners to nobility due to work of the Stonels. The Stonels are located alongside the Old road. The Old road connects the domains of House Greystark and House Locke of Old Castle. They have more of a manor house as they are not military inclined. The Stonels are famous throughout the Greystark domain for their mercantile and banking abilities. The Stonels have founded a bank called The Snow Bank located in White Harbor. They do not have overlordship of any villages or towns as they are more mercantile inclined. They help provide funds to enterprise different ventures in the North. They have helped the houses under the Greystark domain many a time during winter. While they are at their manor most of the Stonels take residence in White Harbor helping oversee the docks and even being recruited into the Eastern Fleet of the North.
