A week had passed ever since Hisui's encounter with the red dragon in the forest. things had been quite peaceful within the kingdom, but not for a certain restless and curious green-haired princess.
Hisui is currently within the castle's library chamber where there were thousands of books stored in the cupboard shelves everywhere around. The young princess is climbing on a small ladder as she traces a finger on the book's backbone covers.
"Anatomy of Magical creatures….Magic Creature mythology….animal biology" muttered Hisui as she reads the names of the books written on the book's backbone, the young princess is looking for a specific one. Hisui keeps on going through the books before she finds the one that she is looking for.
"this is it!" Hisui pulls a book out and it has the title of 'Dragon Historia' upon the cover. "the books about Dragons!"
Holding the book close, Hisui went to a table as she climbed on the chair with the book before placing it on the table. She opens the book on the first page and written within its pages were full information of the legendary large reptilian creatures.
"a dragon is a creature known for its ferocity and its cunningness. A dragon's scale is as hard as metal and cannot be pierced by any human made weapons" Hisui spoke out as she reads the information of the book. She flips through the pages of the book as she came across many drawings of many dragons of different varities from one that is made out of pure stones to one that is burning in flames.
As Hisui flips through the pages of the book, she stumbled upon a picture of a dragon similar to that of the one which she had encountered in the forest
"It looks identical," said Hisui as she remembered the red dragon's characteristic back at the forest as it matches the one drawn on the book. Looking closer, Hisui reads the title class for the Dragon. "Enryuo, the king of Fire Dragons, the flames of the Fire Dragon King can burn everything." Hisui read as she touched the drawings "with crimson scales and crimson claws, nothing can stand a chance against the might of the dragon king"
"amazing" Hisui awed in amazement before she flipped the pages and stumbled upon the last page where there was a white scale within it.
"is this a scale?" Hisui picks the scale up and looks at it from all sides. She then started flipping back to some pages before and found one that has information on Dragon's scales. "I see. a dragon's scales will turn white in time as the color will gradually disappear, leaving the scale pure white for a Dragon's scale are dangerous in human hands"
Hisui put the scale in the book before she closed it and put it back to the shelf. She then exited the library and made her way to her room
"I need to find that Dragon again" Hisui thought as she started packing things, a five year old would think she needs
The Young princess then wrote a letter for her father and then placed it on the table beside her bed before exiting her bedroom.
The young princess quietly sneaks her way out to the garden where there is a secret path leading out of the kingdom, hidden with a bush.
somewhere in the citizen's districts, Hisui's head pops out from a sewer plate as she came out from an alley that is connected with the hidden passage from the castle.
"alright" said Hisui before she gets out of the alley and blended in the crowds while wearing a disguise as she did not want anyone to recognize her. Hisui quickly reached the kingdom's gate in a span of 30 minutes and she went through another hidden passage way she found a year back during her the days where she was a bit naughty young princess.
Hisui went to a kingdom's border's walls and pressed a tile back and that caused a hidden function of a secret passage to open up. the young princess went into the hidden passage that soon closes before anyone could notice it
Moments later within the forest, Hisui travels within while passing by trees as she reached the area where she and her father had picnic before.
"where should I go?" Hisui asked herself as she tried to think of where to start finding the dragon before she decided to go to the cliff area where she fell off and encountered the dragon in the forest below it
meanwhile at the castle, Arcadios who holds a tray filled with refreshments and snacks was walking in the hallway as he was bringing it to Hisui's room.
The knight stopped in front of the door of Hisui's room before knocking it two times.
"Princess, may I come in?" said Arcadios as he asked permission to enter but heard no reply. "Princess?" he called out again as he grabs the handle and opens the door before he finds the room empty "Princess" Arcadios called out again as he sets the tray to the table and tried to find her.
His eyes then spotted the note on the table. He took it as he reads the content only for his jaws to drop
"PRINCESS!" Arcadios shouted as he ran out of the room.
Hisui now located within the forest below the cliff is now walking down a path as she looks around for the dragon.
"ah!" Hisui made a surprised noise while smiling as she found large tracks that belong to the Dragon, knowing the tracks as she read from her book that descripted what a Dragon's track would look like. "I found the Dragon's tracks!"
Hisui looks around as she is excited that she found the tracks and started to follow them.
'If I follow the tracks, I might find the Dragon and where it lives!' thought Hisui as she finds the tracks leading to a cave nearby. Hisui looks at the cave and sees how large it was to accommodate a creature of large stature.
Hisui soon ventured in as she finds many things from a large pile of leaves which she believed to be the Dragon's bed, large piles of bones from many forest animals that she assumed are leftover from the creatures that the Dragon ate, but the peculiar finding she got is that is that the tracks from the dragons were shrinking as it looks like human tracks now.
"is there someone living with the dragon?" Hisui thought out loud before she heard a branch break from behind her. The young princess turns and sees a boy who looks to be the same age as her. The boy has salmon hair and is only wearing ragged black pants.
"why are you here again?" the boy asked Hisui who got confused
"again?" Hisui said before realizing that the boy was dragging a beaten up wild boar. "did you?" she asked while pointing at the wild boar which the boy nodded
"I beat it up" the boy said looking at the boar before back to her. "I ask you again, why are you back here?" he asked while dragging the wild boar into the cave
"I….i wanted to meet the dragon again" Hisui said while readying herself to get laughed by the boy, knowing how Dragons were all myths and legends of the past.
"you want to meet me again?" The boy asked as his words confused Hisui.
"what do you mean meeting you? I wanted to meet the Dragon" said Hisui before her eyes widen in surprise as the salmon haired boy's body glows in a bright red light while growing. The salmon haired boy's body grew large, his hands turning into claws, his legs grew long while talons grew from his feet, his neck became long and his face deformed to that of a Dragon.
"is this enough to satisfy you?" said the red Dragon in a bellowing voice while looking down at Hisui who gasped as she couldn't believe that a boy could transform into a Dragon in front of her disbelieving eyes.
"y-you….c-can transform…..into a d-dragon!?" said Hisui with a shaking voice
"it's the other way around," replied the Dragon to the young princess "I'm a dragon who can transform into a human. If you know the right magic, it is possible"
Hisui looked in awe at him as she is bewildered.
"aren't you supposed to be back with your kind? This place ain't for you people" the dragon spoke out as it started to prepare the boar for his meal. The Dragon glances at Hisui and sees how her eyes sparkle in amazement, curiosity, and amazement. "w-what?"
Hisui soon bombarded the Dragon with hundreds of questions, starting from his name, what type of dragon he is, and are there any more of him out there, etc.
'what is with this human?' thought the Dragon while sweatdropping to hear so much questions from Hisui.
Eventually, time passed as the sky turned orange and the sun sets in the far horizon.
We turn our attention back to the Dragon's cave where the large creature laid on the ground while having Hisui sleeping on its head.
The Dragon who is named Natsu Diamat lets out a long sigh as he looks tiredly to the shadow casted from the top of his cave by the orange light.
'were humans this curious?' Natsu thought before his ears heard the sound of people panicking within Corcus as he could tell that they were trying to find her. 'sounds like the other humans are searching for her'
"Hisui" Natsu called out to the sleeping princess while shaking his head a bit to wake her up. after shaking his head for a moment, Hisui wakes up with a yawn.
"what?" Hisui yawned out while glancing down on Natsu.
"isn't it time for you to go home? I can hear the people from the place you came from are panicking" Natsu told her as he glances to the direction of where Crocus is located at.
"I don't want to" Hisui replied a bit sadly while frowning.
"why?" Natsu asked her as Hisui sighs a bit before decided to tell him all about her recent sad days before. from her mother's passing to the loading pile of duties and teachings she must do as the princess of Fiore.
"I never wanted to be a princess" Hisui said sadly while sitting on Natsu's head, the young princess hugging her knees close to her chest. "I just want to be a normal girl living a normal life"
Natsu looks at her as he could tell that the little girl had been through a lot. The Dragon closes his eyes before he opens them and started to rise up from the ground
"let me show you something," said Natsu to Hisui who holds onto his horns while he started walking deeper in the cave where there was a large stone boulder. The red Dragon grabs the boulder from both sides before rolling it away to open a secret entrance within the cave which he enters within
Hisui watches as Natsu brings her within the secret entrance that appears to be illuminated by glowing crystals that are everywhere.
"where are we?" Hisui asked while marveling the area.
"a tomb" Natsu replied as he walks within the passage of the secret entrance where he soon stops at the end. Upon stopping, Natsu stood in front of a large stone statue of a Dragon with similar appearances to himself but at a larger size.
"this statue…" Hisui muttered out as she sees how the Statue resembles a Dragon's drawing in the book she had read before.
"this is my father. The Fire Dragon King, Igneel" Natsu said as Hisui was surprise to hear his words "I never knew him, because when I hatched from my egg a few years back, I saw him turning into a statue in front of my eyes"
Natsu tells her story of how some dragons turns to stone when their lifeforces are disappearing while telling her everything of his life during the moment he hatched.
"all I knew from him was that I am his son and that I had a duty to fulfil one day" Natsu stated as he gaze upon his Father's tomb statue "and since then, I have been living here alone with no clue on what was the so called mission."
Hisui looks to Natsu as she can feel the sadness in his voice
"I've been living here, thinking on what this mission I've been given is. I lived here alone, with no one to guide me, to teach me on how to live, I'm always alone"
"then let's be friends!" Hisui said with a smile
"friends?" said Natsu as Hisui nodded while smiling.
"that way you won't be alone!" the young princess told the Dragon who blinked at her before looking down to the ground.
"friends…huh?" Natsu thought before looking back at Hisui. "but I'm a dragon, you know? aren't you humans afraid of me?"
Hisui shook her head to him in reply
"no, I'm not" Hisui said to him "it doesn't matter what you look like, all that matter is that we can be friends"
Natsu looks at her as she smiles at him
"be friends, huh?" Natsu spoke before smiling back at her "sounds like fun"
Hisui nodded with a smile as Natsu chuckles before he hears shouting coming from outside as he could hear Hisui's name being called out repeatedly.
"time for you to go home, Hisui" Natsu said to her as he walks out of the tomb and placed back the boulder to seal it.
"but I don't want to, I want to stay here and be with you" Hisui said to him with a sad frowning face.
Natsu smiled at her as he shook his head gently
"you can't stay here. this place is full of dangers a human can't survive from" Natsu told her while leaning his head down as Hisui got off of his head.
Hisui looks at Natsu with a sad face as she looked like she wanted to cry.
"don't worry, I promise that we would meet each other again" Natsu said to her with a kind smiling face.
"promise?" Hisui asked while sobbing a bit
"promise" Natsu replied with a nod. "we are friends, right?"
Hisui smiled to him as she hugs his snout before nodding with a happy face.
The two soon hears the shouting of Hisui's name getting louder as it tells on how close the Hisui search party is
"quick! Hide!" Hisui told Natsu who transforms into his human form and hides behind a pile of rocks
Hisui stayed in her place as she soon sees Arcadios coming out of the forest with some guards following him as they ran to her when they saw her in the cave
Natsu peeks his head to see Hisui walking away with Aracdios and the guards as she waved him goodbye with a smile. The young pink haired boy smiled and waved her goodbye as well.
That's a wrap!
Bye bye
