Within the sky above upon the kingdom of Fiore, Natsu soars through the sky as he flies through the clouds while flapping his wings in increasing his flight speed.
Natsu glances down as he is nearby a mountain range where there are many large sized boars everywhere. Seeing the size of the boars made the Dragon grin and chuckle before he flies down.
"BUHIIII!" the echoing squeals of the boars rang out as countless of their souls ascends to the heavens above.
At Mercurius, Hisui is walking around the corridor hallways while reading the Dragon book, the princess humming as she reads before she felt some tremors on the marble floor.
"he came back fast" said Hisui while looking away from her book which she closed with a bookmark inside.
Hisui made her way to the castle's garden before her face went deadpanned and a sweatdrop appearing behind her head as she sees Natsu coming back with a pile of dead large boars that are a quarter of his large size.
"yo, Hisui" Natsu greeted Hisui while chewing a dead boar in his large jaws. "you want to try an Ivor Hungar Boar? Their meat is succulent in this time of the season"
"n-no thanks…I think I'll pass" said Hisui with a frantic look to see the blood pouring down the large dragon's jaw and drenching up the grass of the garden below. "N-Natsu….i think you need to learn proper eating etiquette."
"what do you mean?" said Natsu as he swallowed the chewed dead boar in his jaws.
"w-well…t-the way you are eating the boar…is s-scaring some of the guards nearby" said Hisui as she pointed at some nearby castle soldiers who were shaking in their boots in seeing Natsu still having blood dripping down his jaws.
"I see" said Natsu as he wiped off some of the blood on his jaws that leaves a brownish red smudge on it. "sorry"
"I-it's alright, but you might want to take a wash for that smudge on your face" said Hisui with an awkward smile.
"I understand" said Natsu as he grabs the pile of dead boars before flying up the sky again, leaving a gust of wind that blew Hisui's hair around.
Hisui holds the side of her blowing hair and placed it behind her ears while watching the Dragon fly away.
"I might have to find a way to relieve the citizens' fear of his form" said Hisui as lately the citizens were giving out complaints to Natsu, from how his heavy stomps leaving footprints on the streets, to the point that some kids and hysterical people were screaming scared whenever the dragon comes and go to the castle. "but how?"
Hisui hums in thinking before she went off to think of something that will help Natsu stay in the kingdom while not getting feared daily by the citizens.
At a nearby mountain, Natsu sat at the top of the mountain flat top as the Dragon eats his dead boar meats.
"I knew it….humans with Dragons could never coexist that easy" said Natsu while chewing his boar meat. The Dragon having enhanced hearings as he heard what Hisui just said before even if they were miles and miles apart. "Igneel…why did you protect them when you couldn't coexist with them?"
Natsu looks solemnly upon the view of the small scenery as he just sat there while feeling the breeze that tickles his scales. The Dragon sighs before he just went back to eating his dead boar meat as he had two left. The Dragon bites down on the meat as he crunched and chewed up the whole boar making some blood drip down his jaws.
"being the only Dragon in this land can make one lonely," said Natsu before he hears small gasps nearby. "hmm?"
Natsu turns and glance at a nearby boulder where he could hear and smell human scents.
"who is there?" said Natsu as he looks down at the boulder where he hears a scared squeak. "come out before i come to you"
Natsu squinted his eyes and let out a low growl before he meets a young blue haired girl hugging a white cat, both coming from behind the boulder and looking scared.
"who are you two?" said Natsu as he leans his head down to look at the two a bit closer before he sniffed their scent. "you….you smell like a Dragon"
"u-um…i…i…um" muttered the young blue haired girl with a nervous voice.
"W-Wendy! Stop s-stuttering!" said the white cat to the young girl while also shaking in her arms.
The two chatters back and forth while Natsu looks down at them.
"humans and other animals are too easily scared in front of Dragons, huh?" said Natsu before he glows and shrunk down to his human form as he wore magic imbued set of grey and black clothes. "there, this form should help you feel a bit eased"
"u-um…thank you!" said the young girl before bowing to Natsu.
"hey! you're not supposed to be saying that!" the white cat exclaimed at the young girl.
"hurry and tell me on who you are and why you smell like a dragon" said Natsu while crossing his arms.
"u-um…i….i'm Wendy…..W-Wendy Marvel..i'm" said the young girl in introduction, while looking extremely nervous. "a-and this is my friend….Charla!"
"you d-don't need to i-introduce me!" said the white cat to the young girl.
"and then? Why do you smell like a dragon?" said Natsu to the two while raising an eyebrow.
"u-um…i….i was raised….by a dragon….my mother…she's Grandeeney…a Sky Dragon" the named Wendy mumbled out while shaking.
"you were raised by a Dragon, huh?" said Natsu while squinting his eyes. "that would mean you're a Dragon Slayer, huh?"
"y-yes….i have…Sky Dragon Slayer Magic..that my mother taught me" Wendy stated. "u-um…I'm…sorry that we were interrupting your….meal…..we were j-just passing by.."
"passing by? This is the top of a mountain" said Natsu as his eyes glows red. "I don't believe that anyone would be passing by like your lie"
"s-sorry!" Wendy bowed in apology. "i-I just…I just never seen another dragon unlike my mother! And also…I thought that you might know where she went!"
"what do you mean?" said Natsu while looking confused.
"t-the truth is….Grandeeney…my mother disappeared on the 7th day of July on the year X777" said Wendy with a stutter. "I've been….searching for her….and when I was searching for her with Charla…we both saw you flying to the top of the mountain…..then I thought that since you're a Dragon…..i thought you might know where she is…b-but….i'm sorry that I was interrupting you…."
"what makes you think that I know this Grandeeney? I never even heard of her name nor have I ever met another dragon before" said Natsu to Wendy. "I hatched from my egg on the 1st of January on X776. Other than my own father, I do not know any other dragon"
"t-then…does your father….know of G-Grandeeney?" Wendy asked with a pleading voice. "please….i want to find her!"
"as much as I want to help you, Igneel can't help you at all" said Natsu before frowning a bit. "he became a stone statue the moment I had hatched"
"i-is that so…" muttered Wendy before frowning and looks down. "i-I'm sorry"
"it's fine. I already went past that stage" said Natsu with a sigh while closing his eyes for a moment then opens them to look at Wendy. "I'm sure that you'll be able to find your mother one day"
"y-yes…thank you" said Wendy with a small smile and a nod. Natsu smiled to her before he glows and reverts to his real form.
"I'll be leaving now, I have a place to return." said Natsu as he stood up straight while donning his enlarged red armor.
"y-yes….but…c-can I ask you…s-something?" said Wendy to Natsu who glances at her and hummed. "c-can I know….your name?"
"it's Natsu….Natsu Diamat, the Fire Dragon King's son" Natsu replied to the young girl before he spreads his wings while squatting down before he jumped and flew to the air.
Wendy and her feline companion look at the Dragon soaring into the sky as he flew straight back to Crocus.
Back at Crocus, the day had turned to eve as Natsu soars in the air before he flies down to Mercurius' garden area where he transforms into his human form.
Landing in the garden, Natsu steps on the grass before he looks around and then walks straight for the hallway to find Hisui.
"from here, huh?" said Natsu as he followed Hisui's scent to find her coming out of the castle's library with a stack of books in her possession. "Hisui" Natsu called out as Hisui turns to see him.
"ah, Natsu! just in time!" said Hisui with a smile.
"listen, I've been thinking" Natsu stated while Hisui placed the books on a nearby table and then grabs his hand. "eh?"
"come on! I need to show you something!" said Hisui before she started pulling Natsu to a direction.
"wait, Hisui" Natsu called out but Hisui just pulls him to somewhere and that somewhere at the castle's front gate entrance where there were some soldiers stationed nearby and some artisan workers who are planting down large stone marbles to the ground while replacing the marble floors that were on the ground before.
"Princess, they're ready" Arcadios spoke out as the knight went near the princess.
"good" said Hisui with a smile and a nod before she turns to look at Natsu. "Natsu, I need you to transform into your real form and step on these new marble floorings"
"Hisui..i" said Natsu before he paused his words from seeing the joy and excitement that are in Hisui's eyes. "I got it"
Natsu glows before he reverts to his Dragon form where he stood tall in front of the castle.
"this one! just step on it as hard as you can!" Hisui exclaimed while pointing to the marble floorings of the street near her. Natsu nodded in reply before he lifted his right leg and then pushed down his right claw foot on the area where Hisui wanted him to step.
The sound of cracking and breaking is heard as Natsu stepped the marble floorings hard with his whole weight.
"alright, Natsu! that's good enough!" Hisui called out as Natsu lifted his right foot and the Dragon made a surprise noise when he sees that there aren't any large footsteps track left behind. "alright! the new marble flooring worked!"
Natsu glows before he shrunk down to his human form and looks a bit confused and surprised at the same time.
"Hisui, what was that all about?" said Natsu, wanting to know what Hisui had stated before.
"you see, I had an idea of how the kingdom would sustain less damage from your large footsteps and how we can calm the citizens from being so afraid of you" said Hisui with a smile. "the first one was to enhance some of your shed scales to the kingdom's stone marble floorings of every area and it worked. The new marble flooring managed to withstand your whole weight and not even crack one bit!"
"so that's why" said Natsu with a curious voice. "and the other one? The one about making your kingdom's citizens not fear me?"
"that one can only be done by showing everyone just how peaceful and kind you are" said Hisui before she holds Natsu's hand and leads him out of the castle with Arcadios and a few soldiers accompanying from behind.
Hisui brought Natsu into the citizens' domain area where many of the men worker were breaking off the street's concrete while some were planting down new concrete marble.
"this is?" said Natsu to Hisui who nodded before looking at the scene.
"everyone here is working hard on rebuilding the street in every area of the kingdom to the last inch as they are placing down the new concrete which are the same ones at the castle" said Hisui in explanation with a smile.
"but for what reason? Just the ones at the castle are enough, I just stay in my human form when I am in this area" said Natsu to Hisui who shakes her head.
"I know just how much concentration and hard will you must have to stay in this form." Said Hisui to Natsu "I just know how it feels more relaxing for you to stay in your real form than in this form. I don't want to force you to stay like this just because you'd be more peaceful and kinder looking"
"but in this form, you and your people would feel at ease, won't you?" asked Natsu before everyone heard some screams from nearby, everyone turns and sees a run-off carriage that is heading straight to a group of kids playing around.
"the children!" "run away carriage!" nearby citizens screamed out as the carriage went straight for the kids when a large red claw grabs and stop it in its place.
Hisui smiles as she looks at Natsu who reverts to his real form and caught the carriage before it could get near the children.
"see? You have a kind heart, Natsu. you don't need to feel so pressured to stay in a human form just to keep everyone else calm and peaceful" said Hisui to Natsu who glanced at her. "coexistence between people takes time. I'm sure with enough time, everyone here will take a liking to you and be calm with you around"
"I don't know…..i've been hearing a lot of conversations" said Natsu to Hisui while placing away the carriage to a different spot and far from any people. "about my form being that of a monster"
"they only see your appearance, Natsu. they don't see the form of yourself inside" said Hisui as she went and placed a hand to Natsu's right claw. "I promise you that coexistence is something everyone can achieve with time"
Natsu looks at Hisui before he closed his eyes and nodded.
"I understand" said Natsu while opening his eyes then leans down his head near Hisui. "I'll try this coexistence plan of yours"
Hisui nodded with a smile before they heard some racket as some workers were having trouble taking the new marble concrete down from a large carriage cargo.
Natsu looks at them as he reached his hand out and helped them take the concrete marble.
Hisui smiles to Natsu as the Dragon helps the worker in replacing the concrete flooring one by one at a slow yet steady pace.
