On the year X787, 3 years had passed and Natsu still remains within Crocus as he became a sort of guardian dragon for the kingdom itself. The kingdom now have many thanks and love for the dragon who helped in many things. From protecting and helping in rebuilding the kingdom to helping its far away citizens that are in dire help from natural disasters.
Right now, Natsu is by the kingdom's borders as he helps carry out a large rubble that is the result of a terrorist attack upon the city, the terrorist group came from a faction from a neighboring kingdom.
"alright! alright!" a soldier shouted out to some workers who were loading off a large pile of concrete blocks while Natsu carries the large piece of rubble and placed it to a large pile of the ruble itself because nearly half of the kingdom's giant walls were destroyed in the process of the terrorist attack and that means the workers and soldiers have to work hard in rebuilding it.
Natsu looks at the large pile of rubble before he placed a claw on top and crushed the entire pile into smaller piles that gives the worker and ease work in loading the rubble to metal carriages. The Dragon keeps on crushing the pieces into smaller pieces before he scoops up some and placed them into the carriages in helping the workers.
As Natsu did the work, he glanced to the castle where he could hear some debating between Hisui and Toma with an individual who had just come to the kingdom this morning.
Within Mercurius, at the throne room where a long table is present upon. Toma sat on one side with Hisui standing beside on the right, and Arcadios with Darton on the left. On the other side of the table is a blonde mushroom haircut prince who is from the neighboring kingdom of Veronica from the north and its ruler.
"Prince Cream, may I ask on why you have come to Crocus?" said Darton, being the Prime Minister of Defense for the kingdom.
"like I said before" said the prince while twirling a piece of his hair on the side. "I would like to ask Fiore to lend their pet dragon as a way of trade"
"pet…dragon?" said Hisui as her voice went stern while her hands clenched hard that Toma took notice upon.
"it's not fair that a kingdom like yours can have a dragon as a pet" said Prince Cream with a smug smile. "other kingdoms have already taken notice of how your kingdom has your dragon pet and might oppose the same thing in coming time. I came first to ask for the dragon in exchange for a permanent peace agreement with our two kingdoms. How about it? Not a bad deal, right?"
"are you suggesting that Natsu is some type of tool that can be used and borrowed so easy-kabo?" said Toma with a stern face to Prince Cream.
"Natsu?...ah I see! You gave it a name." said Prince Cream with a chuckle. "it's befitting that a beast should be given a name other than being called a beast"
"take that back!" Hisui shouted in a sudden outburst as she surprised everyone present in the room. "Natsu is not a beast! He has a conscience and a soul! Don't you ever call him a beast!"
"Hisui, calm down-kabo" Toma told his daughter as raising her voice against another ruler of a neighboring kingdom can bring terrible consequences in peace agreements.
"I won't just calm down, father!" said Hisui with an angered face as she sends a hateful glare at Prince Cream. "he assumed such a bad assumption about Natsu! I mean, what does he know of Natsu?! he has only seen how he looks! He doesn't know anything of how he even is on the inside!"
"Princess! Please calm down!" Arcadios went to Hisui and slowly pushes her back from the table, knowing how angered she is because of Prince Cream stating her best friend as a mindless beast than a person.
"no! I won't let anyone badmouth my friend!" exclaimed Hisui before Arcadios suddenly slaps her face that made some realization her face. "A-Arcadios.."
"I'm sorry for hitting you, Princess. But please remember that Prince Cream is the ruler of Veronica." Said Arcadios in a small whisper. "any act of insolence to himself would ignite a spark of war between our two countries"
"i-i..i'm sorry" said Hisui in a small voice as Arcadios sighs a bit before he glance at Toma who nodded to the knight before the short king faces back to Prince Cream who looks a bit annoyed.
"as you can hear from my daughter, Prince Cream. Natsu; the Dragon is the savior of my daughter during her childhood and has been helping my kingdom in many ways that I can count for a total of 3-4 years-kabo" said Toma to Prince Cream while closing his eyes in spoke before opening them and looks at the young prince. "I'm afraid to say that I am refusing your deal in the peace agreement-kabo. Natsu is not just a dragon, but someone with who I am greatly indebted. We will not hand him over to your kingdom as some sort of pack mule-kabo"
"I see" said Prince Cream with a sigh and an unsatisfied face while getting up from his seat before getting accompanied by a group of his kingdom's soldier. "our kingdoms will be cutting off our trade agreement then. Don't expect that I will be applying an agreement to any of the request for trade"
Prince Cream walks away with his soldiers as he left the throne room and presumably heading back to his own kingdom.
"your majesty" Darton looks at Toma who nodded.
"I will not agree to have peace with any ruler who sees something as it appears to be-kabo" said Toma before he turns to look at Hisui who was looking down on the floor with a frown while Arcadios consoled her.
Night came as we turn our attention to the castle's garden where Natsu rests his large dragon body upon while being accompanied by Hisui.
Hisui wore her green night dress and has her book filled about Dragon in hand. She sat in Natsu's large right palm while the Dragon holds up a finger claw of his left palm that ignites in flames and acts like a lighting for the princess who is reading her book.
"just today, you were talking a bit loudly about myself to that person who came from the neighboring kingdom" said Natsu to Hisui who made a noise before looking down to her lap. "what was wrong?"
"i…I just couldn't take it" said Hisui while clenching her hold on the book's back cover. "that man…he just claims that you're a mindless beast and that you're just something that is easy to give and take like an item or so."
"he isn't wrong" said Natsu to Hisui. "Dragons are always thought to be mindless monsters in Children's storybook, right?"
"I know! But they're all wrong! You're kind, open armed, and a great friend! You're not a monster!" said Hisui in an outburst to Natsu. "I just couldn't stand him saying that you're a mindless monster!"
"Hisui. No matter what you say, you can't deny the fact that I'm not a human" said Natsu to Hisui who frowns a bit in hearing his statement. "I'm a Dragon in form and in soul. I have scales you have skin, I have claws you have hands, I have wings you have none. Even if I disguise my large form in my human form; I am a dragon that is just disguising as one of your people"
"I know…" muttered Hisui while tearing up a bit. "I just don't like someone saying that you're just a Dragon…"
Natsu looks at Hisui before he sighs and leans his snout close to her back. The princess looking at the Dragon who smiles to her.
"I'm grateful for that, Hisui. Thank you for defending my existence as myself" said Natsu to Hisui before closing his eyes. "I am grateful for your words before"
Hisui smiles a bit before she hugs Natsu's snout and leans close while closing her eyes.
The two stayed in their small hug before separating and went back to reading the book together.
