"Next one up, Inoue Sakura. Quirk, not really known but it seems to be fire-based," said Present Mic.
"Is she the one who cut the Zero Pointer in half like it was a hot knife through butter?" asked Aizawa.
"Unlike young Midoriya, she was able to move after," said Present Mic. "And she managed to get fifty points before that showed up... we aren't entirely sure what her quirk is, but whatever it is was able to cut through all the robots like they were nothing."
"Pass," said Nezu. "Her grades might not be among the best, but she got more than a passing mark which was good enough."
"Are we going to check what her quirk actually is?" asked Cementoss.
"Let's get through these first. What about her living situation?" asked Present Mic.
"Since she managed to get through the entrance exam, she'll be housed in the dorms," said Nezu. "I've also given her permission for a part time job, so long as her grades don't dip below acceptable standards and it doesn't interfere with her hero training."
"What exactly is her situation?" asked Aizawa.
"Her mother was placed into psychiatric care after she mistakenly attempted to use her daughter's bank card. After a few pointed questions, mostly at the suggestion of miss Inoue, the doctors have deemed her mother unfit as a guardian," said Nezu.
"And the father?" asked Cementoss.
"As far as we're aware, he's either dead or given up custodial rights. Either way the judge authorized a conditional emancipation," said Nezu.
"Conditional?" said Aizawa.
"She made it clear she intends to try for Pro Hero. The judge allowed her to be emancipated on the grounds that if she makes it into one of the schools that has dorms that she live there until she either graduates or turns eighteen. The mother has been deemed unfit pending a full evaluation," said Nezu.
"What exactly is wrong with her?" asked Cementoss.
"From what little I was told by the case worker, the mother is apparently stuck in the delusion her daughter is five and that her husband has merely been gone a few days, rather than years. While it might not affect her daily life now, her daughter raised some serious concerns that her ability to function would be seriously compromised once she started attending a school in another district. Enough so that she might be a danger to herself," said Nezu.
"...All this because her mom used her bank card?" said Aizawa.
"Her mother attempted to use her card, unaware it was not the same one that belonged to her daughter's trust account. When Sakura found out what happened, she confronted her mother and discovered her condition was worse than she assumed," said Nezu sadly. "In any case we'll need to do a comprehensive test of her quirk since apparently she hasn't used it in public for some time before the school starts."
"Who's the next one?" asked Present Mic.
The other teachers tried to get their head back in the game. The next one was a young woman with a frog-quirk.
For the first time since Sakura suddenly gained over twenty years worth of memories, she was nervous.
This was the first true deviation since she had woken up as a child with memories of her future self. One where she was absolutely miserable as a mafia boss and stuck in a role she hated with people who only wanted to use her for their own benefits.
Okay, maybe not the first deviation. Insuring her mother actually got the help she needed to move past her father's stupidity. And training her ass off so that she could survive in the Pro hero world.
Today she was heading to the school a few weeks early so that the teachers could have a better understanding of her Quirk.
To be fair, she had to train it in secret to keep the braying jackass known as Iemitsu from realizing her flames were active.
Sakura Inoue looked perfectly normal on the surface. Her hair went down to her neck, and was a dark orange color as a side effect of her active flames. Her bangs covered most of her face, effectively hiding the majority of her features. Her jacket was a bit oversized and went to just past her fingertips. She wore a pair of long grey pants.
In her hair was a pair of identical flower pins that appeared to be quite old, possibly antiques.
All in all her appearance was so boring it would be hard to make any proper identification of her later.
Seeing Cementoss, she fidgeted slightly.
"What's this about exactly?" she asked.
"We're here to learn more about your quirk. It seems that there's not many details about it," explained Principal Nezu.
"Oh...I didn't train it where people could see," said Sakura.
"It's alright if you're nervous. We mostly need to do this for health and safety reasons, both for you and the other students. It's better that we know as much about it as we can now so that we can help to train you into being the best hero you can be when you graduate," said Nezu.
"Is this really necessary?" she asked.
"Absolutely. Some quirks need special attention and it's better we known now if the one you have is one of them," said Nezu firmly.
Sakura clearly didn't like that, but didn't argue.
"What about those that have two quirks?" she asked.
"It's rare, but we still need to see them, if only for our records," said Cementoss.
"Okay...but you might want to stand back a bit. It's kinda hard to control the output of my main quirk. I mostly use my secondary because it's less obvious," said Sakura.
Her hands became ablaze with a bright, vibrant orange fire. Like a rocket, she began to spin in a complete circle. Though somehow the teachers had the feeling this was by preference, rather than by necessity. It was clear she had some training in how to spin properly without falling over.
What caught their attention most was the way her clothes began to burn up or appeared to. It took closer inspection to notice that some sort of new cloth began to form made purely out of the fire.
The plain clothing she had on before was replaced by a vibrant orange dress with deep reddish-orange accents. And it wasn't just her clothes that changed. Her hair began to flow like living flame, save for the hair pins which somehow remained intact. There was some sort of intricate pattern on the dress that was quite pleasing to the eye. Oddly enough she was completely barefoot.
"Impressive," said Nezu, and he meant it. "And you said this was your primary quirk?"
"It's too flashy to use outside of a real fight. I prefer my secondary since it doesn't take as long to use and it's more versatile," said Sakura.
With her current appearance, there was no way anyone would believe the plain, rather ordinary looking young woman would be the same confident young lady floating before them.
"And your secondary?"
Sakura grinned. Without any warning, the flowers on the hair pins she had attached to her bangs split apart into six different balls of light. Each of them were a different color of the rainbow, from red, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
Two of the lights seemed to attach themselves to her back, unfurling to become large fairy wings that allowed her to float a little higher. One of them flew towards her left hand, and became a sort of psuedo-sword, while the remaining three formed a triangle that expanded to form an energy shield.
"Can you fly like that?" asked Cementoss.
"I can fly without the visible wings, but they make it easier to do precision flying. The sword is what I used to 'kill' the Zero Pointer."
Sakura was put through her paces. Fortunately she came up "all clear" for normal hero training. Even if she only used her secondary quirk, since her primary was a bit too "overpowered" according to her to use normally.
After seeing what she could do to a mountain made of literal cement, the teachers were inclined to agree. Having an ace up the sleeve for when things got bad wasn't a bad thing, but they mostly did this to have an accurate record of her quirk anyway. Or quirks, in her case.
Once they were done, Midnight escorted her to the dorms where she would be living for as long as she was a student, or at least until she was eighteen. She made sure that Sakura was well stocked with food for at least until her first official paycheck at her new job, as well as clothes and feminine supplies. Anything else she would have to bring in from her old home or buy later.
The second she fixed up her bed, the first thing she did was crash on it. She didn't wake up until dinner. Who knew shopping was so exhausting and intensive?
Two weeks later...
It was her first day at UA as an official student and she couldn't be more nervous. All her previous experience with schools said that it was just a bad headache waiting to happen. Especially in regards to bullies.
At least the principal understood why she wouldn't be ordering any special hero uniforms. It was rather pointless to have a special uniform for hero class when her primary quirk made it all disappear into some weird subspace and did a better job than anything on the market. Besides, the fabric required to make them was expensive and the laundry bill was likely to be absolutely ridiculous trying to keep those things clean.
Villains were unlikely to give much care towards a hero's clothing budget and would almost certainly cause as many rips, tears or stains that would be a nightmare to fix or get out.
(Even All Might acknowledged she was lucky...the dry cleaning bill when he first started out had been absolute murder on his wallet until he started getting endorsements.)
Confusion turned to annoyance when she found out the first thing they would do as new students was a Quirk Assessment test.
This was going to be a long day.
Sakura's face twitched at the unforgiving way the teacher lit into Izuku. The poor kid's name twitched at her older memories, until she realized what it was once the loud brat who reminded her strongly of Xanxus with Hayato's tsundere personality called him another name.
'Oh, right. That's the kid that took All Might's place. His hero name was Deku.'
She had to frown at the inefficient way the teen used his Quirk. It was like he had no training at all in how to use it! Furthermore the way his chi felt was...wrong. Almost like a secondary set of pathways was trying to integrate into his system, but hadn't had time to fully settle yet. It was no wonder he had problems using his quirk!
From the way he acted, he reminded her of the 'other' version of herself as a child. Timid and with little to no self-confidence in a fight.
Well, she knew just how to fix that issue...just with less explosions and chaos.
She waited until after class, and offered to escort him to Recovery Girl. Of course she could have healed the broken finger in an instant, but she needed the extra time to come up with a plan on how to phrase this.
So she decided to emulate one of her favorite characters from an anime she saw a while ago.
"Your quirk...it needs training."
"Ah...yes?" said Izuku.
"I can help. I know martial arts. Can help you get used to the secondary pathways that are in your system."
"...Secondary pathways?" said Izuku confused.
She gave him a flat look with her one visible eye.
"Your quirk isn't natural. I can sense a secondary layer of pathways slowly settling into your natural ones. Feels recent. Proper training of the body would help them settle faster and give you a fall back," said Sakura flatly. She raised a single eyebrow. "Unless you like blowing up your body trying to use it?"
Izuku winced.
"I'll have to ask my teacher. He's the one who helped me."
"Acceptable."
Izuku was fixed up right away, but he gratefully accepted the snack bag Sakura handed to him.
"See you tomorrow," said Izuku, a little shyly.
The next day...
Sakura was less than amused having to do an introduction this late, but she put up with it.
"Sakura Inoue. My Quirk is fairy-based. Like martial arts, learning new languages and music," she said succinctly.
"Fairy-based?" said Katsuki almost derisively.
Sakura muttered something under her breath, and a pair of translucent fairy wings appeared.
Technically she wasn't lying...her powers were fairy based after she bonded to her grandmother's hair pins. It was just that they were so much more and it was hard to really explain what she could do. That and most wouldn't understand the implications just yet.
Needless to say most of the girls loved it. The guys, not so much though they did concede it was impressive when she admitted she could actually fly.
"Another thing about me is that I have a pet...sort of."
"What kind of pet?" asked Ochako.
Sakura made a strange whistling sound, and something unfolded from around her neck. Everyone had mistaken it as a scarf, but now that it moved they could tell it was some sort of bat like creature.
It looked terrifying and the boys loved it.
"His name is Murcielago, but I call him Murk. He's some sort of dragon-creature, but I have no idea what though. Just don't make him angry though," said Sakura.
"Why not?" asked Izuku. He had to admit Murk looked both terrifying and downright cool.
Sakura took out an apple. The beam of red light that obliterated it was both small and powerful. There wasn't anything that remained.
"He's pretty mellow most of the time, but he prefers to be left alone. He also made it clear I wasn't going to attend school without him as my back-up," said Sakura shrugging.
"...That is fucking awesome," said Katsuki, looking at the odd creature around her neck with avid interest. He wasn't afraid of that thing in the least, but he found it hella cool.
The thing's vivid green eyes seemed to peer into their very souls, before it sniffed and wrapped itself around Sakura's neck again.
"Is that even allowed?" asked Tenya.
"Pets are permissible so long as they don't cause a ruckus during school hours and are considered moderately useful during Pro Hero work," said Aizawa.
Minoru really should have been more concerned by the lazer sharp intense glare he was getting from Sakura upon revealing his perverted nature.
Then again none of her new classmates had been trained by a world-class troll, or had a psuedo set of 'older brothers' all too happy to give her inspiritation in the fine art of complete and absolutely humiliation and blackmail.
Minoru and the other perverts in the school all felt a shiver go down their spines. One that spoke of a sleeping terror that was merely waiting patiently before it unleashed hell unlike anything they had ever seen.
Sadly for the diminutive hero, he was going to get the brunt of it since he was in the same class.
