Time passed as the war between Fairy Tail against Grimoire Heart came to an end. Grimoire Heart is driven away. Makarov let Grimoire Heart left with their group as they had several members of their kins deceased and some fled their own group.
Right now upon Grimoire Heart ship, Hades is leaving with his only remaining 7 kin member, Kain Hikaru as they all had sour look.
"It is because of people like you that I have turned out like this." A voice spoke out from the shadows as Hades and Hikaru looks up and looks surprised. "It is your evil thoughts and intents that have summoned Acnologia upon this land."
As soon as the voice's owner stepped out of the shadows, Hikaru dropped to his knees in shock and horror. Hades felt his eyes widen in shock, as he slowly stood up from his seat. The voice belonged to none other than Zeref, who was slowly strolling towards them, his step carefree and relaxed.
"Zeref!" exclaimed the elder. "The Black Wizard himself! But...how...why are you on my ship?!"
"To leave this island, obviously. I have spent years in solitude on that island, but it appears that I am once again forced to interact with humans." Replied Zeref while arching his eyebrow.
"The Black Wizard...right in front of my eyes..." said Hades before smiling. "Quick, the keys! Bring me the keys!"
"oo ouie…i...can't move." Said Hikaruga as intense fear is hitting in his heart so hard.
"There will be no need for keys of any sort." stated Zeref loudly. "I am awake. I have never been asleep."
"What?" said Hades with a surprised face.
"Tell me something." began Zeref. "I am by all means in no place to judge you, but many people lost their lives in your pursuit of the keys, am I right? People paid the ultimate price just so you could get your hands on those. It really makes me sad...and angry. Those keys have always been a myth, a legend created and spread by third-rate Zeref worshippers, who never gave a second thought to do some proper research on the person they devoted their lives to."
"No! I did my research! The keys are necessary to awaken your true magic! Your true form! What you are right now is just-" said Hades before Zeref cuts him off.
"I really hate repeating myself." Zeref's voice echoed dangerously, wind suddenly appearing inside the closed ship "The keys are an old fable. They were never real to begin with. I have been awake all this time. The person standing before you is the real Black Wizard Zeref."
"But...how is this possible? I saw you being tricked and defeated by my underling!" exclaimed Hades "Someone of your caliber would never have fallen for such a childish trick!
"The person who was bested by that woman was not the person who is standing before you at this very moment." explained Zeref. "Back then that truly was my real power. But, as you can tell, that is no longer the case."
The ship began to creak, cracks appearing in the walls and floor. Zeref's magic was enormous, but stable. It created an illusion of filling the room like a balloon, putting constant pressure, but keeping it on a non-aggressive level.
"Over 400 years I have seen countless battles and deaths. They started to become something...daily, for me. Like breathing. But one day, I was shown just how valuable life truly was." Explained Zeref "That was also the day I became cursed. From that day, the more precious I find human life to be, the more of it I steal. To stop killing people, I must forget the weight that is a human life."
"Are you saying you are constantly battling the weight of human lives?" asked Hades.
"That is correct. That is why my magic never works as I want it to. I can never control it. But, if I forget the weight of life...now that is a different matter." Said Zeref as Hades started to choke, his hands mindlessly going towards his throat, as if that would help him breathe properly. Zeref's eyes changed color from black to red, his hair being gently raised by his magic. His face, although stoic and seemingly emotionless, hid a vast ocean of anger underneath. An ocean Hades has just realised he was staring at.
"You are guilty of many crimes, Precht." he said quietly. "You are guilty of taking innocent lives in my name, of making me forget how precious human life is, of calling Acnologia onto this island, but most importantly...for being the reason this era has come to an end."
"Acnologia?! What are you talking about?!" choked out Hades.
"For the things I have mentioned, you shall be punished. I am going to steal from you, Precht. I am going to steal the most valuable thing a human can offer, something you have been stealing ever since you took a step towards darkness. Your life." Said Zeref with an ominous look.
Hades extended his hand and tried to speak out one last time, asking Zeref to give him just one more moment to ask just one more question but could not as the old man falls.
Zeref closed his eyes and breathed out, as Hades' lifeless corpse fell off the throne. Magic stopped putting pressure on the room, colors returning to their original state. He started to say a small prayer for all the people who died in pursuit of his keys but soon stopped after hearing a sound. A sound that never failed to send a chill down his spine.
Zeref turned to the window and frowned gently. "Here he comes," he announced in a whisper.
now we turn our attention to the base camp where everyone is recuperating and patching up their wounds.
"Cana! Is your hand alright!?" asked Gildarts to Cana in a frantic while moving around his daughter. "you don't have any wounds, right!? Let papa see!"
"shut up! You yourself is hurt! So pipe down you damn old man!" shouted Cana as she kicks Gildarts on the face and pushes him away from her.
"like father like daughter, huh?" said Lisanna with a sigh.
"I don't think that's the right phrase for this, Lisanna" said Mira with a sweatdrop.
"everyone is getting better by the second, huh?" said Levy with a smile.
"it must be because of the Tenrou Tree" said Wendy as she with Levy turns to look at the giant Tree which is now restored back to its previous form. "the blessings and its protection are helping everyone"
"Gray-sama~! Juvia felt Gray-sama connected with Juvia for the first time when Juvia was facing Meredy! How does Gray-sama feel!?" asked Juvia with hearts glowing in her eyes.
"a pain in the ass" said Gray with a blueish face as he had lots of pain because of the feeling.
Everyone rested up as they plan to go back home, the moment that they are finished patching up things, while on the other side.
"what!? The Exam is suspended?!" exclaimed Gray, Elfman, and Gajeel to Makarov who sighs.
"like I told you, because of Grimoire Heart and the Council coming in interference, we can't have an exam like this" said Makarov, explaining the three.
"don't mess with us, Gramps!" exclaimed Gray.
"I want to become an S-class!" shouted Gajeel.
"you're just Levy's partner!" Elfman exclaimed at Gajeel.
"if you three are so insisting on becoming an S-class" said Makarov before he cracked his knuckles. "I can be your final examiner"
"eh!?" exclaimed the three.
"what's wrong?" asked Makarov before his eyes had a dangerous hostile look. "defeat me and you can become an S-class, you know"
"w-w-wait! Gramps is still hurt, and we all are still hurt, so!" said Gray, not wanting to fight Makarov because of him being injured and the Master is strong.
"chickening out?" asked Makarov as he grins before chuckling.
While the three are backing away from fighting against Makarov, we turn our attention to Natsu who is slowly walking away from the camp but was stopped by Erza.
"Natsu, where are you going?" asked Erza to Natsu who turns to look at her.
"I'm searching for Chitetsu" said Natsu before placing a hand on Chitetsu's scabbard that is attached to his waist, the katana gone from its scabbard. "I woke up and found him missing from the scabbard"
"Natsu, I think it'd be better if you search for Chitetsu later" Erza proposed to him with a small smile. "you just woke up and everyone here needs all the helping hand that we can get"
"sorry, but I have find him" said Natsu as he turns while his eyes turn a bit hostile for a moment. "that guy, shouldn't be on this island for too long nor be any reach of anyone or anything"
"what?" said Erza in confusion and surprised before a loud noise is heard from the sky as it is echoing. The noise got the attention of all the Dragon Slayers on the island as this made them all investigate the sky above to see where the sound is from.
"What the hell?" frowned Laxus and turned to Gajeel. "You hearing that?"
"Yeah. It sounds like..." said Gajeel as he looks around in the sky
"A dragon's cry!" Wendy finished the sentence with wide eyes.
"a Dragon?!" sad Lisanna in surprise.
"this feeling….it couldn't be!" said Gildarts while looking in shock.
"Gildarts…what's wrong?" asked Cana to her father.
"look! Over there!" exclaimed Lily while pointing to the sky as everyone looks up and see a large and black reptilian beast that made a large shadow upon the island.
"what is that thing?!" exclaimed Gray in shock to see the large creature.
"is that really….a Dragon!?" said Bickslow in surprise.
"could it be…" said Makarov in surprise. "the Black Dragon of Apocalypse, Acnologia!"
The black dragon soon swoops down as it came fling down right to the group.
"it's coming down!" exclaimed Freed as the dragon landed on the ground, causing a powerful tremoring earthquake before letting out a roar that shook the whole island and nearly blew everyone away.
"this isn't good" said Gildarts before turning towards the other. "RUN!"
Acnologia let out a roar as the power of his roar caused trees to bend, boulders to fly, and people flying away.
"what power!" exclaimed Lucy as the single roar nearly blew them to the ocean itself.
"is this….what a Dragon is capable of!?" asked Cana in shock.
"run!" exclaimed Makarov as he threw his shirt aside and began to increase his size to match that of the dragon before he got into a power fight against the creature "You will all run away from here, right now. None of you are allowed to challenge this beast. That is an order. Run. Don't look back. Keep moving forward."
"Like hell we're gonna leave you!" roared Gray as he has Juvia on his back, saving her from the Dragon's roar. "We will fight!"
"Those who can still fight, prepare yourselves!" yelled Freed and pulled out his blade. "We shall hit it with everything we've got!"
"I don't care if this thing is a dragon or anything!." said Mira, her body starting to glow before transforming into her Satan Soul. "I'm gonna blast this piece of shit into pieces!"
"I told you to run!" roared Makarov, his voice loud enough to make the Dragon Slayers grimace in pain. "That is my final order as Master! You shall all run to the ship and get away from here! Are you going to disobey my orders until the very end?!"
"f-final order?" stuttered Lisanna in surprise.
"everyone…follow his order" said Natsu as everyone glance at him and sees him clenching his fists so hard. "that's his order!"
"are you kidding!? We aren't going to leave him behind!" exclaimed Mira at Natsu before looking at Makarov who is pushing back Acnologia with all his strength. "if Master isn't with us and back to the guild…how will we?!"
"GO!" roared Makarov as his bandages started to bleed of his closed wounds that are opening.
Everyone held their ground for a moment before they started running to the port while in tears.
Makarov smiled under his mustache and turned to the dragon, who jumped forward, almost as if trying to get to them. Makarov clenched his fist and punched the dragon right on the jaw, before wrapping his arm under its head and securing it in a chokehold. Acnologia roared and started to push, but Makarov did not move. He flexed his muscles so hard they were crying out in pain and continued to strangle the beast with everything he had.
"Like hell I'm letting you go through!" shouted Makarov. "Those are my kids behind me! I don't know what you came here for, but you will not take their lives! As long as I have limbs to move with, you will stay here!"
Acnologia roared as it sends the giant hurling down to the ground before pushing a claw to Makarov's chest. Makarov and Acnologia roared at each other before the giant man started laughing.
'for the first time, I've acted like a true parent, I now can die without regret….' Makarov smiled before he looks to the sky above and slowly closed his eyes to await his death.
But before his death could come, he felt a powerful gust of wind flying past over his head as this made his eyes snapped open.
Acnologia let out a roar before the Black Dragon of Apocalypse got itself wrapped by the serpent body of the Dragon Celestial Spirit, Draco who let out his own roar against the dragon.
"Draco…" muttered Makarov before he heard some running footsteps beside him as someone came jumping towards Acnologia and sends a flaming punch right at Acnologia's right eye. Makarov's eyes widen as he sees Natsu coming in on the attack against the black dragon. "NATSU!?"
"leave!" shouted Natsu as he furiously glared at Acnologia. "leave our island!"
Acnologia roared before he swung his claw on Makarov and sends the giant crashing to a cliff. Makarov soon reverted to his small side as he grunted while clutching his hold on his wounds before he looks up and sees Erza standing by.
"Erza…you too" said Makarov before looking to the side as Laxus joined in.
"I was against this" said Laxus to Makarov before he turns to look at him. "do you really think that these guys are people who can leave you behind?"
"You little…fools!" said Makarov while crying in tears.
"CHARGE!" shouted Erza as everyone came back to the attack.
Natsu is furiously punching flaming fists at Acnologia's right eye while Draco binds the Dragon with his own body before everyone else came in to attack the black Dragon.
Acnologia's eyes slowly turned red before the Black Dragon let out a roar that blew everyone away. Draco roars before the Celestial Dragon Spirit got his head grabbed by Acnologia's claws and slammed to the ground. Draco roared before the Dragon Spirit disappeared back into the Celestial Spirit world.
"Damnit! This thing!" exclaimed Gray while getting back up.
"even for Draco who is also a Dragon is overpowered?!" said Elfman in surprise.
"let's go for a simultaneous attack!" exclaimed Mira in her Satan Soul as static started charge up around her claws.
"right!" Freed, Bickslow, Evergreen, Juvia, and Lisanna roared in unison in agreement.
Natsu who crashed to the ground a few feet away from the group, got up and winced in pain as his eyes glows red before black veins started to spread around his neck and up to his cheeks.
"at my current power.." Natsu clenched his fists hard before he lifted his left hand up as it glows black.
At another part of the island where Chitetsu remains upon. The cursed katana glows black as cackling can be heard.
"facing against the natural enemy of all humanity," said Chitetsu before his demonic skeletal shadow smirks evilly. "interesting!"
The cursed katana soon floats out of the ground before flying into the sky and headed to where Natsu is at.
Acnologia roars at everyone, the power of its roar causing a huge gust of wind to nearly blow everyone away.
"just how much power does this thing have?!" exclaimed Gray.
"it's barely using its power!" exclaimed Gildarts while holding his side. "that thing barely used half of its power when I was facing it! It's just playing with all of us!"
SLASH!
An air slash went flying over the group and upon Acnologia who roared as a cut appeared over its right eye and is bleeding. Everyone looks in surprise before they turn and sees Natsu wielding Chitetsu in a stretched out fashion where the katana's blade shines its sharpness.
"Cut it down, Chitetsu" said Natsu as Chitetsu's shadow appeared on the katana's blade and is cackling.
"cutting down a Dragon of pure Chaos? Interesting choice" said Chitetsu with a smirk before the cursed katana glows black. Natsu wielded Chitetsu's handle with both hands as the katana's blade faces the man's stomach. "I'll cut anything down as long as I can taste blood"
"Natsu! Stop! You can't use that technique!" shouted Gildarts as everyone looks at Natsu who instantly pierced his own stomach with Chitetsu's blade in a Harakiri. The sight shocked everyone as blood drips down Natsu's body before the blood got sucked into Chitetsu.
"Blood is your Iron, Iron is your Steel, Steel is your Blade…" chanted Natsu as black flaming marks started to spread around Natsu's body to the point that it covered his whole body. "I pay the blood for the contract of the Lingyue's Darkness…"
A powerful magic force started to circle around Natsu as it is unleashing a powerful evil pressure that is sending shockwave pulses everywhere. Acnologia glares down at Natsu as his glowing red eyes glows even more.
"I pay my own life for the death of my foe.." Natsu continued the chant before he draws out Chitetsu from his own stomach and wielded the weapon in his right hand's grasp, the cursed katana transforming demonic before it started to pulse with a dark aura. Natsu glares at Acnologia with glowing red eyes that slowly turns dark. "I descend to the darkness of the abyss…Kojun!"
Natsu is soon engulfed in black aura where his body started to transform into his demonic form once more but this time, his body is covered in pure black and red skeleton like armor, his fingers becoming long claws, the colour of his skin turning pale white with red line marks spreading around, and his head is covered in a red and white demonic mask where his eyes glows red behind it
"this is bad!" said Gildarts as he grabs hold of Cana by her waist, surprising her. "everyone! Back away from Natsu! Now!"
"what?! What is going on, Gildarts?!" said Erza before a black blur zoom pass her, Gray, and Mira, causing a huge gust of wind to blow from behind and their hair to get blown front.
Natsu went flying straight at Acnologia as the demonic man swung Chitetsu upwards and cuts Acnologia's right eye causing more blood to instantly come out of the dragon. Acnologia roared as Chitetsu's blade cuts right through the Dragon's scale while cutting one of its eyes.
"Everyone get back! Now!" shouted Gildarts as Acnologia started to rampage while facing Natsu who lets out his demonic roar at the dragon. "when Natsu becomes that, he can't hold back and he won't know who is an ally or an enemy! Right now, he sees that thing as an enemy, but if we try to get near and help, he'll attack us!"
"what!? What kind of thing is that!?" said Gray before powerful streams of black flames erupted everywhere as Natsu breathes out flames right at Acnologia's face, causing a flaming explosion upon the Dragon.
"get back!" exclaimed Erza as the flames were so hot that even a few feet away from them, they can feel intense heat.
"what power! Has Salamander been keeping this power to himself?!" said Gajeel in shock before everyone started backing away from the raging battle.
Acnologia roared before the black dragon swung its claw right at Natsu and sends him crashing down to the ground bellow, causing the ground to shatter and break.
"Natsu/-san!" Wendy, Lucy, and Gray shouted out as Natsu is trapped under Acnologia's claw. Natsu growls before roaring at Acnologia as the black dragon roared back. Before any further action could come, the ground around the area exploded as dozens of bone tentacles springs out and wraps around Acnologia's neck and left arm.
Natsu roars once more before he unleashes a stream of black flames right at Acnologia whose face got engulfed in the attack, resulting in an explosion directly. Smoke flew out everywhere before Natsu came flying out of Acnologia's grasp.
"Juvia has never seen such a powerful attack!" said Juvia in surprise. "neither from Master, Gildarts-san, or even Laxus-san! Natsu-san's power is by far beyond what Juvia has ever seen!"
"we got to run" said Gildarts as everyone looks at him. "I hate to do this, but we have to get away from the island and from those two!"
"what?! First we nearly tried to leave without gramps, we fight back this thing, and now you want us to abandon Natsu!?" exclaimed Gray at Gildarts.
"we can't just leave him!" said Lucy.
"we have to leave!" said Makarov while being helped by Laxus. "there is a chance that not even Natsu can win against Acnologia! He might be on a standing footing against that monster, but this would change a moment later!"
"but Master!" exclaimed Erza before a powerful gust blew out as it came from an explosion of Natsu's flaming breath attack on Acnologia that resulted in a few scales of the Dragon to be blown off.
"we have to leave! Believe in Natsu! Believe that he will win and survive against that monster!" exclaimed Makarov as everyone looks at their master before to the battle where Natsu swung Chitetsu down, inflicting a bleeding cut on Acnologia's neck.
Everyone holds in their feelings before they all nodded and started running the other direction, leaving the battlefield to Natsu against Acnologia.
Natsu roars before he lifted Chitetsu up and the blade of the katana is engulfed in black flames. Natsu glares down at Acnologia as the black dragon glares back at Natsu with its left glowing eye, the Dragon's right eye has been cut and is bleeding because of Chitetsu's blade.
The demonic man swung Chitetsu down and sends a flaming slash right at Acnologia who took a deep breath and fired a stream of energy at the attack that soon resulted in a powerful explosion. Natsu floated in the air before he saw Acnologia's claw striking through the explosion and grabs him in a tightening hold. Acnologia growls before the Dragon took a deep breath as energy started to charge up in the beast's mouth.
Struggling in the Dragon's grasp, Natsu roared before Acnologia's entire claw got cut by Chitetsu, which causes blood to spill out everywhere. Natsu holds Chitetsu up as the katana sucks in the Dragon's blood before Acnologia fired its breath attack right at the demonic man.
Natsu roars loudly as he got engulfed in the breath's attack that sends him flying into the air and falling into the ocean far away.
Acnologia growls before the Dragon looks at its right claw as its fingers were gone because of Chitetsu cutting them off. The Dragon growls in anger before it flew up into the air and started charging up another breath attack at the escaping Fairy Tail members.
Natsu rises out of the ocean water as the demonic man growls angrily, his blood bleeding out of the wounds all around his body while it was pouring out non stop from Natsu's left claw that is gone from receiving Acnologia's roar.
The demonic man turns to Acnologia as the Dragon is flying in the air before it unleashed a roar upon the island, causing a giant explosion upon the sacred island of Fairy Tail and everyone on the island.
The explosion is so big and bright that Ultear with Meredy on their small escape boat, Mest with the fleeing Council members, and Natsu himself, all saw the destruction of Tenroujima and those who were on it.
Natsu's eyes glow red before he let out a loud roar at the Black Dragon that has just destroyed Tenroujima and everyone on it. Acnologia roared as the Dragon turns and looks at Natsu who is floating on top of the ocean's water. The two monsters glare at one another before they flew against another, Natsu let out a loud roar against Acnologia's roar, both their battle continued even with the destruction of Tenroujima itself.
Upon the fleeing Grimoire Heart ship, Zeref stood on the ship as he looks afar with a sad look before closing his eyes.
"you are not ready fully.." said Zeref with a sad voice, the wind blowing in as his hair dance with it. "…Natsu…"
Back at the scene of the battlefield, Tenroujima is gone, everyone on the island is gone, and so is Acnologia. The Black Dragon of Chaos flying in the air while pouring blood from its right arm as the Dragon's entire palm is gone and is bleeding endlessly, along with the Dragon's right eye that bleeds.
Upon the ocean's water and floating above the surface is the body of Natsu who is swayed around by the waves before the man slowly sinks into the bottomless sea below.
That day on January 16, X784, Tenrou Island eradicated by Acnologia who has gone from sight upon destroying the island. Destruction was total annihilation. Members of the Fairy Tail Guild on Tenroujima
