At a dark tunnel passage, a large Pop Fox runs through as it carried Gray and Juvia on its back. The two mages heading to Fire Island where Gojin resides upon.
"I can see the exit!" said Gray as he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. "get ready for him, Juvia! Don't let your guard down for one second! Make sure this guy gets it for hurting our guild and Haruo!"
"yes! Gray-sama!" replied Juvia with a serious face as the Pop Fox ran out of the cave and into the forest of the Fire Island while heading to the palace of the Fire General.
Meanwhile on the Darkness island, Elfman with Lucy and Cana had just arrived at the Darkness General palace and finds the whole town to be empty and devoid of people living within it.
"this is just weird" said Cana while looking around the town while the large Pop Fox that had brought them runs back to the direction of the tunnel, going back to Tenko. Cana went to a nearby house and looks through the window to see no one inside. "there's no one in the houses at all"
"could they have known of us coming and the town is evacuated?" said Lucy while thinking.
"if the town is evacuated, then that means the palace too?" asked Elfman as he looks at the Darkness General palace that has the symbol '闇' upon it.
"better if we go and check first" said Cana as Elfman and Lucy nodded before the three heads to the palace.
Everyone else reached their designated islands and finds no one living by the palace of the residential Eight General. The palaces' towns are devoid of people living within them.
Ayame is at the Water General's palace as she runs up the stairs to the very top where Mizuki and the Water Celestial Gem resides upon.
"could the Emperor have known of my betrayal and know of our plan!?" said Ayame with a frustrated look as she keeps on running up the stairs until she reached the very top floor where the chamber on the very top resembles that of a Dojo.
"Mizuki!" Ayame called out to Mizuki as she looks around before spotting someone sitting in front of an altar. "Mizuki"
Ayame got near the person by the altar as she believed it to be Mizuki but it's not the Water General but someone else.
"you!?" said Ayame in surprise as the person sitting by the altar stood up and turns towards her while holding two war fans.
"hey, hey" said Mira as she arrived at the very top of the Wind General's palace, and she is ready to face Kazane in battle, but who she met isn't the Wind General at all. "what's going on here?!"
In front of Mira stood Mizuki who wielded her Naginata in one hand before she spins it and pointed its blade at the Majin.
Everyone else who arrived at the very top palace of the residing Eight General and find themselves facing different generals than the one who is supposed to govern the island's territory.
Ayame faces Kazane as both Generals wielded their weapons against one another.
Mira transformed into her Satan Soul as she readied her claws against Mizuki who readied her naginata in a battle stance.
Erza wielded her sword as she is facing Gojin whose weapon is coated in flames.
Gray and Juvia readied their magic as they are facing Raikou who got into a battle stance with his Tekko Kagi coated in electricity
Gajeel put up his guard as he is facing Akari who fired countless amounts of arrows at him.
Laxus who stood on the road in the town of the Lightning General's palace, the blonde mage has static covering his whole body as he faced Yamika who stood a few feet away from him.
While for Elfman, Lucy, and Cana, they are facing Daichi who sat in the palace of the Darkness's very top floor. The Earth General sitting on the floor in a meditation like pose while Lucy and the others stood a few feet away from him.
As if their plans are foreseen by someone, the 7 of the 8 remaining generals has switch places with one another as Erza and the others faces the wrong foe who they are not prepared against.
Within the palace of the Emperor Island. in the chamber of the Emperor; the emperor sat within a dark chamber as he sat there in silence before a shadow of a person appeared behind the man.
"now. Be rid of them" said the shadow while chuckling
Upon the Wind General's palace, explosions rang out within as Erza faces Gojin with all her might.
Erza equipped her Flight Armor as she used her enhanced speed to sends multiple fast strikes against Gojin who blocked her blades with the Kama of his Kusarigama.
"do you believe that with enhanced speed, you can defeat me?" asked Gojin with a smug smirk as he swung his Kama upwards and got into a clash of power against Erza's blades, the Scarlet knight pushing her weapon forward as sparks ignite from the grinding blades. "your magic won't work on my weapon, Karito!"
Gojin swung his kama as the force of his swing pushes away Erza who did several backflips before landing on the floor on her knees with her blades in hand.
'our plan was foreseen, the Emperor must've known and planned this in the first place!' thought Erza while gritting her teeth.
Gojin spins the chain of his weapon before he throws it towards Erza who swung her right blade upwards to deflect the weapon but the weight on the chain strikes back and wraps around her whole body.
"what!?" said Erza in shock before she got thrown upwards by the chain as Gojin swung the chain around with the scarlet knight attached on the end, crashing her against objects nearby. "agggh!"
Gojin smirks as he swung the chains around before swinging it down along with Erza on the end.
"Karito's chains is like a snake that never loses its prey!" said Gojin as the chains wrapped around Erza's body started to tighten.
Erza grunted in pain as the chains wrapped tighter by the passing second just like a snake that is suffocating and crushing its prey.
"i…w-won't…be…defeated!" grunted Erza as several swords appeared above Gojin who looks up and sees the weapons raining down on him.
Gojin clicked his tongue as he pulled back the chains around Erza and started spinning it above his head like a twirling shield that deflected the raining swords. Erza got up as she takes several deep breathes before equipping on her Black Wing Armor and wields the sword with both hands then flew right at Gojin who readied his Kama and swung it right at Erza who blocked with her sword and both got into a power battle once more.
In the Wind General's palace.
Mira who is in her Satan Soul flew into the air as she dodged large streams of water coming from Mizuki who swung her Naginata around in controlling the water.
"damnit!" said Mira as she is on the defence rather on the offense against Mizuki upon the beginning of their battle. Mizuki spins her Naginata around her side before she swung it to the right side as the stream of water chased after Mira.
Mira clicked her tongue as she turns back and fires a blast of darkness magic against the stream of water that exploded. Mira turns to where Mizuki is, but the Water General is gone from where she was before.
"what? Where did she?" said Mira as she looks around before she realized that Mizuki is behind her, the Water General holding her Naginata over her right shoulder. "shit!"
Mizuki swung her weapon as she sends Mira crashing to the floor with a long gash mark on her back.
"gaah!" grunted Mira in pain as blood started pooling out of her wound. The Majin gritted her teeth before she turns to look at Mizuki who landed a few feet away from her. "how did you get behind me so fast?!"
"my Naginata, Mizu Bunkai gives me power over water and be in control over any area that has remnants of water" said Mizuki as she swung her Naginata to the side before stomping its pole end on the floor. "the moment you attacked the water, I was already behind you"
"d-damnit!" grunted Mira in pain before she got up and fires a stream of black magic that spreads around Mizuki who swings her Naginata to the side creating a wall of water in front and blocks Mira's attack.
"I can control the water within the ground, within the air, and within nature itself" said Mizuki as she swung her Naginata around in a dance as streams of water formed around behind her, the body of water forming a large serpent body of a Dragon. "you cannot win"
Mizuki swung her Naginata forward as the water Dragon roars before striking Mira.
"Gaaah!" shouted Mira in pain as the Water Dragon sends her crashing to the wall in a big splashing explosion.
Mizuki swung her Naginata to the side as she scoffed before turning around and walks away to leave because of believing that she has taken out Mirajane but her action is a mistake.
"Evil Spark!" shouted Mira as streams of black electricity dance around on the floor that has remnants of water and towards Mizuki who jumped away from the static then landed on the support beam of the ceiling.
Mizuki looks down and sees Mira coming out of the rubble from the water explosion as the Majin has black static coating her claws.
"you use water like Juvia does" said Mira while grinning a bit. "I know how to deal with girls like you!"
Mizuki clicked her tongue as she spins her Naginata and swung it to the side before jumping down towards Mira who jumped with her claws pulled back, both women swung their attacks against one another as a shockwave blows out.
Upon the palace of the Earth General, the roof of the large building exploded as Gajeel came flying out of it and crashed to a house nearby.
"damnit!" grunted Gajeel as he wipes off some dust on his face, the Iron Dragon Slayer clicked his tongue in annoyance as he looks up to the blown up part of the palace, seeing Akari coming out of the smoke of the explosion, the Light General holds her bow before pulling three arrows and aimed at Gajeel then fires.
Gajeel jumped away as the three arrows fired landed in the house where he was and soon exploded in a bright explosion.
"just how many arrows she has?!" said Gajeel in annoyance as Akari pulls and aim another arrow on her bow before firing again, the arrow flew down as its arrow tips glows white and caused a bright flash on Gajeel who grunted while closing his eyes.
"you're finished" said Akari in a low voice as she pulls three arrows on her bow and fired.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Akari looks a bit confused as her fired arrows fell to the ground bellow with their arrow tips bent. The Light General looks at Gajeel and sees the Iron Dragon Slayer's body coated in his Iron scales.
"my turn!" said Gajeel as he punched his right fist upwards, the hand turning into an iron lance. "Tetsuryukon! Kishin!" Iron spears started rapid firing towards Mizuki who aimed five arrows on her bows and fired at the incoming iron spears, her arrows deflecting some of the iron spears but there were more than she has accounted for.
Akari jumps away from the palace as the iron spears lodged themselves near the area where she was.
"like hell am I letting you go!" exclaimed Gajeel as he continues firing the Iron spears at Akari who landed on a house before she started running away from the incoming iron spears while firing back with her arrows.
At the Water General's palace, large tree roots rise out of the palace as Ayame is in battle against Kazane.
The dojo within the very top floor of the palace is overrun with tree roots and vines as Ayame is jumping around while dodging gale blasts from Kazane's war fans.
"Kazane! Why are you here!? Where is Mizuki?!" exclaimed Ayame as she thrusts her staff forward, the weapon elongates towards Kazane who jumped up into the air before she swings her war fans forward, creating twisters towards Ayame who slammed her staff on a tree root, creating a wall of wood to block the twisters that left cut marks on it.
"Mizuki is currently taking my place upon my island, while I take hers" replied Kazane as she closed her war fans and swung them upwards to block a surprise attack from Ayame who pushed her staff forward against Kazane's weapon. "the Emperor had foreseen that there would be enemies who can overpower our respective elements, that is why he has ordered that we take one another places instead"
'So the emperor knew, but how!?" thought Ayame as she jumped away from Kazane, the two Generals faced each other with their weapons prepared.
"Gojin knew that someone within our ranks would be helping the rebellion, Daichi-san was my first suspect but I never knew that you are the traitor, Ayame" said Kazane while opening her war fans as sharp blades came out. "why have you turned traitor, Ayame?"
"I'm no traitor for i was never loyal to Nagano, I am loyal to Ryujima-sama and Ikaruga-sama" said Ayame while spinning her staff and pointed its tip at Kazane. "I swore my loyalty only to them!"
"I see" replied Kazane as she waves her war fans around before getting into a battle stance "it has been years since any of us has sparred to the death"
"I never did came to liking you for years, Kazane" stated Ayame as her eyes went hostile.
The two Generals faces one another as the atmosphere hardens and thickens before the two women lunged at each other with their weapons.
Meanwhile at the Darkness General's palace; Lucy, Cana, and Elfman faced Daichi who simply sat on the floor with a solemn face and in a meditation like pose.
"I thought we are facing the Darkness General, but he's the only one here. What's going on?" said Elfman with a pure confused and surprised face.
"don't tell me, our plan got infiltrated?" said Cana with an annoyed face.
"but how?!" said Lucy as she wanted to know how their enemy knew of their plans to get the six remaining celestial gems.
"if you are here for Black Raven: Tengu's Celestial Gem, I'm afraid to say that it is in the possession of Yamika-dono" said Daichi while opening his eyes and looks at the three. "the only Celestial gem within this palace and within my possession is Genbu of the South Sky's Celestial Gem"
"looks like we got to fight for it, huh?" said Elfman as his right arm transforms into a metal arm.
"seems like it" added Cana while taking out a few magic cards into between her fingers.
"first he's an ally, now he is an enemy" said Lucy, not liking the idea to fight the man who helped them the first time that they got on Lingyue. The blonde mage hardened her determination before taking out Taurus Celestial Spirit Key, prepared to summon the Bull Celestial Spirit.
"wait" said Daichi while holding up a hand. "I shall not fight"
"what?" said Elfman as he, Cana and Lucy looks at the monk who reached into his robe and takes out a black gem that has the shape design of a turtle's head which Daichi throws to Lucy who caught it.
"my mind and eyes are clear to what I must do" said Daichi while standing up as he wields his Tetsubo in his grasp. "for years, I have placed my loyalty and conviction to the Emperor with no questions, but I have finally realized that my actions of loyalty are placed into the wrong person"
"you mean you're betraying the Emperor?" said Cana as Daichi nodded.
"I should've realized that my path has gotten astray and that my true loyalty has been hidden from my sight" said Daichi while closing his eyes for a few seconds before he opens them and looks at Lucy and the others. "is Haruka-sama with you? Is she safe?"
"yeah, she is. She's with our friends" replied Lucy as Daichi nodded while having a relieved face.
"I see" said Daichi while sighing before his face went serious. "you must hurry to help your friends, the Emperor has foreseen your plan to take the Celestial Gems. Go to the Fire Island; your friends who have the power of water and ice are in danger as they are facing Raikou-dono who wields the power of thunder and lightning."
"what?!" said the group in surprise.
"I know Gray can handle it, but Juvia is a water mage who is very weak against lightning magic or any of the sort!" said Cana, knowing how weak Juvia is against electric type attacks.
Before long, Lingyue soldiers suddenly came marching into the palace and surrounded everyone.
"what's this?!" exclaimed Elfman as all the soldiers wielded their spears against them all.
"it seems that the Emperor knew of my coming betrayal and planned to get rid of us all" said Daichi with a serious face before he clenches his grasp on his Tetsubo which he swung behind, causing a powerful gust to blow away some soldiers. "GO! I shall hold them back! Go to Fire Island and help your friends!"
"you!" said Lucy as Daichi swung his Tetsubo to the floor, causing it to break and shatter while causing a shockwave to blow away more soldiers.
"GO!" exclaimed Daichi to the group before he defended against several spears attack which he soon pushed away with his strength. "Go and stop the Emperor! Save Haruo-sama and save this land!"
"let's go, Lucy" said Cana while holding Lucy's hand and pulls it.
"but Daichi-san!" said Lucy as the group sees Daichi pushing away some soldiers before the Monk got stabbed with a few spears by some soldiers who were all blown away by the monk's tetsubo. Daichi let out a battle cry as he swung his weapon around against the soldiers even with the wounds inflicted upon him.
"we got to leave him behind! We got no time to spare and we need to help Gray and the others then get the rest of the gems before night-time!" said Cana, reminding Lucy that they are on the last day for the revival ritual to still be in condition to revive Haruo.
Lucy frowns as she looks at Daichi who swung his Tetsubo at a group of charging soldiers who are sent flying. Lucy bit her bottom lips before the group soon left the palace as Daichi stayed to fend the soldiers off.
"after them!" shouted a soldier as some started running after Lucy and the others, but Daichi came and intercepted them.
"none of you shall leave!" shouted Daichi as he swung his Tetsubo and sends some soldiers flying. Daichi swung his Tetsubo before slamming its end by his side while glaring at the soldiers. "i! Daichi! The Earth General vow with the last of my breath! With the last ounce of strength that I have! Shall not let any of you intervene with their mission!"
The soldiers went charging again as Daichi's face is covered with crack like black markings before bones started to grow and covers his head in the skeletal mask of a turtle.
"break the heavens and tremble the earth, Funsai!" shouted Daichi as a shockwave blew out around the Monk. Daichi lifted up his Tetsubo as the weapon glows an orange yellowish colour. "Dai Enzan!"
Daichi swung his Tetsubo down as it caused a powerful earth shattering shockwave to blow out before the entire top floor of the palace breaks and shatters then exploded, the explosion took everyone with it, including Daichi himself.
"I leave the rest to you! Fairy Tail Mages!" shouted Daichi before he is engulfed by the explosion.
Outside by the town, Lucy and the others just finally reached the bottom floor of the palace as they are running in the town before they heard the large explosion from the palace.
"what a man" said Elfman in respect as he knew that the explosion is caused by Daichi himself.
"let's go" said Cana as Lucy looks at the explosion before to the Card Mage and nodded.
The group continued running as they head to the direction of the beach shoreline.
While everyone faces the 8 generals members, we turn our attention to Wendy, Charla, Lily, and Kiara as the group are on the small island by the borders of the Fire and Darkness islands.
They are searching for Natsu as they started looking for him the moment they arrived.
"what an abandoned village this one" said Charla, checking the old burned down houses that seems to have overgrown grass and roots all over its frames.
"This village was said to be the village of the Ying and the Yang as it is between the Fire island which represents life and the darkness island which represents death, in name the Ying Yang island" said Lily as he led the group forward. "this island is also the first origins of the Genju"
"the first origins of the Genju?" said Wendy as Lily nodded.
"in the past, the Genju appeared out of nowhere on this island nearly a decade ago" said Lily as he glances at an old abandon house that has a small doll under a pile of broken wood before he continued. "Yuuko stated that the Genju were beings of darkness and evil, that they absorb matters of life, which means that they might also be the ones responsible for this village's abandonment"
"an entire village…" said Charla with a frown, thinking of how the Genju could destroy this town so easily.
"We should be aware of our surroundings," said Lily to the others. "if we don't find Natsu and Gildarts before night time, the Genju will"
"right" said Wendy and Charla before they heard Kiara squealing as the Pop Fox is sniffing the ground nearby before running off to the nearby forest.
"Kiara got their scent!" said Charla as everyone started chasing after the Pop Fox.
Meanwhile, at the forest area, Gildarts is standing by the large dark crevice as he looks below and sees just how dark and deep it is.
"this might be the only place where that fruit grows" said Gildarts as he searched the entire island for three days and found no sight of Natsu or the fruit which means that the only place that he didn't check is the dark crevice. "that fruit must be legendary and rare because it grows under here, huh?"
Gildarts was planning to go inside the dark crevice when he hears bush rustling nearby as he turns around and sees Kiara jumping out of the bush.
"Kiara?" said Gildarts as Kiara squealed to him before Wendy and the others came in.
"Gildarts-san!" said Wendy with a smile as they finally found the crash mage.
"did you find Natsu and the fruit?" asked Lily to Gildarts who shakes his head.
"I didn't find the two" said Gildarts before he turns to look at the dark crevice. "I look around this island for three days and this place is the only place that I didn't check"
"so this is the Makai no Iriguchi," said Lily as he got nearby the dark crevice and sees how dark its bottom is. "what a deep looking crevice"
"this place some sort of bad place or something?" asked Charla, seeing some hesitant action of Lily who is near the crevice.
"yeah, Yuuko said that this crevice is the place where people fall and are never seen again" said Lily as he took a few steps back from the edge. "they say that the people who fall here will be eaten alive by the Genju when night comes"
"so basically, it's a one way trip to the afterlife," said Gildarts as everyone soon hears an echoing whistle from the crevice that is caused by an updraft.
"there's a whistle coming from bellow?" said Wendy, sensing the air
"must be an updraft, there might be an airway underneath it" said Charla before the ground suddenly shakes as an earthquake occurs.
"an earthquake!" shouted Lily as the tremor of the earthquake is so powerful that the ground around the crevice breaks apart.
"oh no!" screamed Wendy as she, Gildarts, and Kiara started falling into the enlarged crevice.
"Wendy!" shouted Charla as she with Lily grabs Wendy and Gildarts respectively before spreading their wings and hovers into the air.
"that was a close one" said Gildarts while having Kiara clinging onto his cloak.
Before a moment of relief could be spared, a powerful downdraft came from above and forcibly pushed Charla and Lily's wings down.
"a down draft?!" exclaimed Lily.
"are you kidding me!?" said Charla as everyone falls right into the dark crevice and fades into its darkness.
