Upon the start of the second round, we see Gray with Juvia coming back to their stand after getting Lucy to the infirmary.
"how is she?" asked Erza regarding the state Lucy is in.
"the fight took a lot out of her, but she's fine" replied Gray with a smile.
"she's currently showering." Added Juvia
"Good, she's earned a rest." Said Erza with a nod.
"I'll say." Elfman added. "She did great, fought like a real man."
"Has the next match started yet?" said Gray as he with Juvia looks closer to the lineup for the second battle round which has Ren of Blue Pegasus vs Arana of Mermaid Heel.
"it's just starting" answered Elfman with a grin.
"Now it's time to start the second match of the day!" Lola shouted. "It will be Mermaid Heel's Arana Webb Versus Blue Pegasus' Ren Akatsuki!"
The fight between Ren and Arana began, each of them trading blows with their respective magics. Ren threw air attack after air attack at the green haired woman who used her threads to counter each of his moves.
"Match two is starting the same as match one with neither competitor backing down." Lola said.
"Yes, this a very good match." Said Yajima with a nod.
"You can do it, Ren!" Jenny cheered. "Don't forget that Sherry is watching you and cheering you!"
"What?" Ren looked over at Jenny with a blush, giving Arana an opening.
"You're wide open!" Arana shouted, using her web shot to take advantage of a distracted Ren.
"Come on, Ren. You're better than this!" Sherry shouted from the Lamia Scale section of the stands.
"Sherry! Stop cheering for the enemy!" Obaba scolded.
"But they're engaged." A Lamia Scale member said.
"Quiet you!" Obaba yelled back.
"We aren't engaged!" Ren yelled. "She just won't leave me alone!"
Sherry gasped to hear Ren while Arana attacked once again with her thread magic, but Ren managed to dodge the oncoming flurry of webs.
"She keeps following me around." Said Ren while in between dodges. "It's really annoying." He stopped moving and stood his ground, looking away with a blush. "But I can't be myself if she's not with me."
"Oh, Ren." Said Sherry with a blush on her cheeks.
"As long as Sherry's watching me I can't look uncool." Ren said. He swung both of his hands in a circular, pulling Arana towards him.
"this is!?" said Arana before she got engulfed in a whirlwind
"Aerial! Phose!" exclaimed Ren as Arana screams within the spinning air before she fell back to the ground, unable to stand.
"The winner of the second match: Ren Akatsuki from Blue Pegasus!" Lola announced as Ren huffs while adjusting his shirt.
Sherry cheered, much to Obaba's annoyance.
"I let my guard down." Arana sulked as she sat up.
"yay! That's the way, Ren!" squealed Jenny while shaking Yajima's hand in her excitement.
"that guy got strong" said Gray as Erza nodded in agreement.
"seems that we have to warry of not only Raven Tail, but the other strong guilds" said Juvia with a hard look.
"Now for the third match of the day!" Lola announced. "It will be Quatro Cerberus' Warcry…vs…Sabertooth's Orga Nanagear!"
The crowd cheered excitedly as the two mages came out of their respective tunnels.
"Go get him Orga!" "Show these guys why you're number one!" "Listen to this crowd."
"Orga is quite a popular wizard." Commented Lola
"You can do this, Warcry!" the rest of the Cerberus team yelled.
"Arooo!" Warcry howled.
"Now we get to see how Sabertooth really fights." Stated Lily with his arms crossed while Kiara who is beside him squeals.
"You think he's as strong as the masked guy?" Rome
"Let the third match begin!" Lola shouted as the gong sounded.
Warcry and Orga sized up one another, Orga caught slightly off guard when he saw his opponent's eyes begin to water.
"What the hell?" said Orga as Warcry is crying hard.
"Waaahh!" Warcry bellowed, a waterfall of tears coming from his eyes.
"There it is, folks!" Lola said. "Warcry's Tear Magic!"
"That is certainly a unique magic." Commented Yajima
"Tear magic?" Erza questioned.
"What kind of magic is that?" Elfman asked. "That's not manly at all."
"The more tears a man sheds…" cried out Warcry while continuing to cry. "The stronger he be-comes…!"
In a split second, a powerful lightning bolt strikes the Quatro Cerberus and made him scream in pain.
Everyone was surprised as Warcry fell to the ground unconscious, twitching ever so slightly.
"l-lightning!?" said Lily in pure fright while Kiara's fur had stand up when the lightning attack rang hard.
"He beat him in one hit!" Romeo exclaimed wide-eyed.
"And just like that it's over!" Lola shouted. "Orga's black lighting fries the tears of Warcry in an instant! The winner of match three is Orga of Sabertooth!"
"Lightning, huh?" said Laxus with an interested look.
"They are certainly worthy of their number one status." Stated Mavis as Sabertooth wizards aren't to be underestimated.
"Yeah, they are pretty powerful." Said Makarov while nodding in agreement.
"We now come to our last match of day one." Lola said. "The only two teams left are Lamia Scale and Fairy Tail B."
"Seeing as how these two used to be equal in strength, this should be an interesting fight." Stated Yajima.
"From Fairy Tail B it's Natsu Daimou versus Lamia Scale's Jura Neekis!" Lola announced as this made the crowd cheered wildly.
"Jura's fighting?" "I wasn't expecting to see him on the first day!" "and Salamander is playing in again after the Hidden event?! So damn lucky!" cheered the crowd.
"looks like you got picked, Natsu" said Mira as Natsu nodded before taking a glance at Jura by Lamia's scale stand, the named Earth Wizard having a stoic yet excited look.
"the bald guy got some guts not being shaking" said Gajeel with a grin.
"Good luck, Mr. Jura!" said Cheria as Jura nodded before both he and Natsu jumped from their stand and to the arena.
"that Daimou is one thing, but I'm confident on Jura-san winning against him" said Yuka with a grin.
"ooohn! Jura is a Wizard saint after all!" exclaimed Toby with a smile.
"but Salamander is a mage whose level is comparable with a top 5 ranked wizard saints" said Lyon while having his arms crossed. "this could be an overwhelming match between the two"
"so what?! Jura is the 5th ranked Wizard saint!" said Oba Baba while spinning her hands around. "even if Daimou is very strong to give one of Sabertooth's mage a run for his money, Jura won't lose!"
"Papa!" Haruka and Haruo called out to their father as Natsu waved his hand while smiling to his children before facing Jura.
"this could be the most thrilling match to watch" said Lola with a smile. "we have two mages who are comparable in strength as we have the Wizard Saint, Jura Neekis and the other, Natsu Daimou who has shown a very amazing amount of power during 'Hidden'. who do you think will win this, Yajima-san?"
Lola turns to Yajima who scratches his chin while in a thinking pose.
Natsu with Jura faces each other in the arena as both wizards looks at another with strong gazes.
"if anything, I would've loved to see Fairy Tail win the games" said Jura with a smile while scratching his long beard. "But that would anger my Master"
"That's right!" Obaba yelled.
"Calm down, Master Obaba." Said Sherry.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not holding back." Jura declared as his gaze hardens while having a smile to Natsu who chuckled a bit.
"you got strong words, Jura. Makes me feel a bit guilty to beat you after how much assistance that your guild and Blue Pegasus gave to mine" said Natsu before his gaze sharpens and his lips formed a smirk. "just a bit, that is"
Both Natsu and Jura got enveloped in red and yellow aura respectively as a gust of wind blows around them.
"looks like both participants are ready" said Mato as he backed away from the two mages. "let the last battle of the battle round begin!"
The gong sounded, signifying the beginning of the match. The atmosphere was heavy with anticipation, the entire crowd was on the edge of their seat.
In a split second, Natsu disappeared from his spot before he appeared behind Jura with a fist pulled back. Jura who was fast on his reflex turns and swung his right hand up, summoning a thick rock wall that took Natsu's punch and breaks into pieces.
Natsu soon rockets away from Jura with flames raging below his legs as the man dodges rock spears conjured by Jura.
"It looks like we already are seeing Jura's earth magic at work!" Lola commentated. "and Natsu-kun is fast on his actions as he dodged Jura's rock spears!"
"Gan Tetsu Heki!" exclaimed Jura with a hand outstretched to the side as dozens of rock pillars went straight towards Natsu who pulled back his right fist that ignites in flames before sending a punch right at the incoming rock pillars.
The flaming fist contacted with the rock pillars before they all exploded from a bursting stream of flames and straight towards Jura who waved his two fingers of his right hand to several direction as he summoned a thicker rock wall that clashes with the stream of flames that dispersed after 10 seconds.
Before Jura could do a next move, the rock wall suddenly got gut into pieces by Natsu who holds Chitetsu in a drawing stance and had sheathed the katana.
"the guy is doing well against Natsu" said Laxus after whistling.
"I heard that Jura is a 5th ranked wizard saint" said Mira with an impressed look. "guess he got the stuff to back his rank, huh?"
Natsu took a deep breath before he fired a flaming sphere at Jura who did several hand gestures with his right hand and a large rock hand rises from the ground then slaps the flaming sphere into the air before it exploded. Jura soon waved his right hand again as the rock hand formed a fist before flying straight at Natsu who jumped away, but the rock fist followed him.
"look at that! We thought we were getting a hot battle, and we got it, folks! Look at these two mages go at it!" exclaimed Lola as the crowds went wild.
Natsu did several backflips as he backs away from the coming rock fist that was soon destroyed into pieces by a flaming punch from the salmon haired man who has an impressed look.
"not bad, you earned that 5th rank with great power." said Natsu while shaking his right fist that is covered in some dirt from punching the rock fist.
"thank you for the compliment" said Jura with a smile before he waved his two right hand fingers to the side, controlling the rubble rocks around Natsu to pile around him. "but I won't be losing to you!"
"Oh no! it's that move!" exclaimed Gray, knowing Jura's attack pattern.
"it's over" said Oba baba with a smirk as Jura slams his hands together.
"Haō Gan Sa!" shouted Jura causing the rocks that covered Natsu to glow bright before exploding as it caused a shockwave to blow out.
"unbelievable! Jura has dealt a powerful attack on Natsu-kun! Is he defeated!?" exclaimed Lola on the mic.
"a very powerful move, indeed" added Yajima.
"Papa!" Haruka and Haruo screamed out as Fairy Tail watch the smoke that filled one area of the arena where Natsu was.
"did he got him!?" said Mira in surprise.
"nope" said Laxus as he looks at the smoke and sees Natsu who seems unscathed by the attack. "not at all"
"amazing! Natsu-kun is unscathed by Jura's attack! So strong!" commented Lola as the crowds cheered for the amazing battle.
"strong move" said Natsu as he dusts off some dirt on his shoulder, "but it lacks the power to finish me"
"it seems so" said Jura as he prepared to attack Natsu again, when he noticed that the smoke from his attack isn't letting up. "this is?"
Natsu smirks as he pointed up to the sky, Jura followed and he sees Black Raven: Tengu hovering in the sky, the Raven Celestial Spirit blowing out black smoke from his mouth and to the field.
"w-what is this!?" said Lola in seeing Tengu's action. "the field is getting filled with smoke!"
"seems that Natsu-kun has a different plan to take down Jura" commented Yajima as the smoke is filling up the field to the point that Jura and Natsu got engulfed into it. Tengu hovers in the air before the Black Raven entered the black smoke and disappears within it.
"what kind of move is this?" said Lily as the smoke is nearly reaching up to the stands.
"this is a lot of smoke" added Romeo as he closed his mouth for the smoke has a strong smell and he doesn't like it.
The crowd looks at the smoke field as they had no idea what is going on. Before a second could pass, flames and rock spearss appeared out of the smoke as the battle between Natsu and Jura continued.
A moment later, a rock pillar rises from the smoke with Jura standing on it. The Earth Mage huffs his breathing as his clothes got some tears and burns.
"oh! Seems like Jura decided to get out of the smoke!" said Lola in seeing Jura just looking around upon the smoke as Natsu is still lurking within it.
"must be suffocating in there" commented Jenny
Jura looks around before he turns and summons a rock wall that blocks brown hair needles from the smoke behind him. Jura soon counterattacks by waving his hand up, summoning a rock spear out of the smoke, but he didn't hit anyone.
Before a second could pass, a beam of light came bursting out of the smoke bellow from a different direction as it barely grazed Jura's side.
"right there!" exclaimed Jura as he swung his hand forward, summoning a rock fist out of the smoke filed that hits the Flashing Eagle, Taka who went flying in the air before recovering in the air.
"who is this?! Seems like there is another spirit summoned by Natsu-kun in the smoke!" said Lola as everyone looks at the Flashing Eagle: Taka who hovers in the air.
"this time it's the Flashing Eagle: Taka?" said Lily in seeing the eagle bird man.
"how come the Lingyue Celestial Spirits are with Natsu? Shouldn't they still be on Lingyue with Ayame and the others?" asked Lisanna as she was curious as why the 8 Celestial Spirits of Lingyue are with Natsu and Lucy who had previously summoned Byakko upon her battle round.
Ikaruga watch the battle as she saw sight of several figures running around in the smoke that made her smile.
"it is nearing the finish" said Ikaruga as her words caught the others' attention.
Jura looks around the smoke before three figures jumped out, as Natsu with Tengu came out with Enra who got summoned again.
"Saru Ninpou: Yūgana Tanpopo no Jutsu!" chanted Enra while doing several hand signs before inhaling air and then breathes out a brown gas from his mouth. Tengu did the same as he slapped his hands together before forming a hand sign.
"Tengu Jutsu: Kuro Kiri Senpo!" chanted Tengu before he flaps his wings several times, creating smoke that has black feathers mixed in it.
The gas-filled up the arena with the smoke as things were getting gassed up.
"this is very hard to judge with-kabo" said Mato as he waved his hands around to blow the smoke away before the judge got grabbed and flown away by Taka in surprise. "Kabo!?"
Natsu pulled back his head as he inhaled lots of air with his chests puffing out.
"this gas and smoke together.." said Jura before his eyes widen in realization as he snaps his sight towards Natsu. "could it be!?"
"Karyu no Hoko!" roared out Natsu as he unleashes a Flaming breath attack that ignites the brown and black gas that caused an erupting explosion upon the arena.
"waaaah!" screamed the crowd as the explosion was so powerful and so bright at the same time.
"what on earth?!" exclaimed Lyon as he and his guild team were wide eyes.
"explosive gas!?" shouted Gray and Elfman, finally knowing what move that Enra and Tengu used before Natsu added in his.
"such power!" added Juvia, seeing how much power the explosion had.
"this is a very strong attack combination" said Erza as the explosion soon died down and revealed a rock dome that crumbles down to reveal Jura who seems unscathed by Natsu's combined attack with his spirits.
"unbelievable! Natsu-kun's powerful attack was repelled by Jura's rock dome's defense!" shouted Lola as the crowd cheered to see such an amazing feat.
"seems like this one is rather strong than the last one" said Enra as he landed on the ground with an interested look.
"and a rather quick thinker too" added Tengu as Jura's rock pillar came down with the man himself.
Natsu faces Jura with his three spirits as the odds of him winning had increased dramatically.
"just how will this battle end!?" exclaimed Lola before the bell rang loudly and signaled the end of the match. "oh my god! Folks! That's the bell and that means that this match is a draw!"
The crowd cheered while some sulked to hear the result of the battle is a draw and they wanted to see more.
"if I had not thought of my rock dome, your attack would've burned me down," said Jura with a smile as he crossed his arms together. "your power is not one to be trifled, Daimou-dono"
"same could be said of yours" replied Natsu as he placed a hand to his waist while Enra and the others disappeared. "your earth magic has increased in offense and defense as well"
"thank you for the praise" said Jura before doing a quick head bow.
Natsu did the same before both mages turn and walk back to their respective stands.
"With the final match done, here are the final rankings for day one!" Lola announced, directing everyone towards the board:
1st Place: Sabertooth – 20
2nd Place: Blue Pegasus – 14
3rd Place: Fairy Tail B – 13
4th Place: Fairy Tail A – 13
5th Place: Lamia Scale – 11
6th Place: Mermaid Heel – 3
7th Place: Quatro Cerberus – 2
8th Place: Raven Tail – 0
"this was such a thrilling and exciting match!" said Lola as everyone was amazed with Fairy Tail's performance
"Don't forget about us in Blue Pegasus." Jenny reminded Yajima. "We'll take first tomorrow for sure."
"that ends things for day one of the Grand Magic Games, folks." Lola said. "Thank you for joining me Mr. Yajima, Ms. Jenny."
"It was my pleasure." Yajima said.
"See you all tomorrow." Jenny said happily.
By the Fairy Tail B team Stand, the group looks at Natsu who entered in the stand as he looks at them with a raised eyebrow.
"what?" said Natsu.
"you know, you could've taken him down easy, right?" said Laxus while crossing his arms. "we needed the points to win, remember?"
"i owe Lamia Scale and Blue Pegasus many things over the years" replied Natsu before closing his eyes and then opens them after 10 seconds. "the least I can do is to let them have as much points in the games"
"you are such a softie" said Gajeel with an annoyed face.
"that's Natsu for ya" stated Mira with a snickering grin, knowing best how the man would be with friends who he owed greatly.
At Lamia Scale's stand, the group were heading off as the games were over and they are going to their inn.
"what were you doing, Jura?! You got us a draw!?" exclaimed Oba Baba while spinning Toby who cries in the twirling spin.
"at least we got points. that's something, right?" asked Cheria with a smile.
"was it hard for you face against him?" asked Lyon to Jura, wanting to know the man's stand against Natsu.
"yes" replied Jura with a smile. "that man was still holding back upon our fight. if he had not, I would've been taken down the moment the match started"
"that guy is still that strong, huh?" said Yuka, thinking that it is going to be nearly impossible for Lamia Scale to win against Fairy Tail when they have such a strong member on their side.
"We still have ways to go though, if we want to win." Added Lyon as they are in the fifth place in the rank.
In the infirmary, Wendy was sleeping with Charla who soon sat up quickly on the bed. Charla's entire body shook, a look of dread painted on her face.
"What…what did I just see?" she asked to no one with a fearful tone.
