It was a while after Jakob challenged Evelyn to the duel of a lifetime. A Grudgeby match in the courtyard for tomorrow.

The nervous Evelyn stood in the middle while Azura stood beside her to train her due to her being good at Grudgeby. In the bleachers, Mildred, Hecate, Gus and Alistair were sitting together.

The mere presence of her family made Mildred slightly annoyed. "Hey Azura, why did you bring Gus and Alistair along?"

"Evelyn needs support and I felt Hecate wouldn't be enough." Azura replied. "No offence, Hecate."

"That's okay." Hecate said while waving two small blue flags with Gus and Alistair.

"You got it, Evelyn!" Gus yelled out.

"Go Evelyn!" Alistair cried.

"Okay Evelyn, you know how Grudgeby works so I won't explain it." Azura said.

"Hey Azura, could you explain it to Alistair?" Gus asked. "He doesn't know anything about it."

"One way to get out exposition." Mildred said nonchalantly while reading an article about Alador Blight supposedly building a Time Machine.

"Okay Evelyn and Alistair, this is how Grudgeby works: Grudgby is played between two teams of at least three players. The object is to score points by getting this spherical ball…" Azura summons a ball to show Alistair. "….through the opposing team's goal." She pointed to one of the towering goals. "Since magic is part of the gameplay, all manner of magical obstacles may be used to hinder teams from scoring." Some magical traps pop out of the ground. These included spikes, arrows, swinging axes, fireballs, Saturn flytraps, a trap door, a dirt worm and a swarm of bees chasing a random kid.

Alistair looked to be amazed by what he was seeing while Evelyn just gulped in fear. "Oh Mom, help me now."

"The participants are allowed to cast spells to aid their games." Azura continued. "Though not mandatory it is very reliable self defence. The team that scores the most points within the time limit wins. However, should one of the teams catch the Rusty Smidge, they score an immediate victory and end the game."

The Rusty Smidge began flying around Azura in excitement. Azura tried to catch it a few times but couldn't catch it until she finally caught it in-between her finger and thumb. "Does take a bit of effort and some dumb luck."

"I call it, dumb luck." Mildred said.

"That's literally what I said." A baffled Azura pointed out. "Okay Evelyn, now the rules have been repeated, do you want to go?"

"What if I can't do it?" Evelyn asked her cousin.

"You can do it, you just need confidence." Azura responded. "So, let these people be your confidence boost."

Gus, Hecate and Alistair began to wave their flags and cheer. "Go Evelyn!" Gus cried.

"We believe in you!" Hecate cried louder.

"Wooo!" Alistair cried out.

"Yeah, do whatever." Mildred said without a care.

"Okay, I got this." Evelyn took the Grudgeby ball out of Azura's hand and tossed it in the air. She tried hitting it with her hand but when it made impact to her palm, it just dropped to the ground.

"Uh…." Azura had no idea what to say while Gus, Alistair, Hecate and Mildred were just silent.

"Wooo! Evelyn!" Alistair cried.

"Okay. Okay." Evelyn said. "I might not be able to hit a ball but I sure as Titan can carry this to the goal." But as Evelyn began to run across the pitch the booby traps began to attack her.

Fireballs, swinging axes, bees and even a trap door that spat her back out. She laid on the ground for a brief moment until she noticed a flying cannon ball was coming straight for her.

"Evelyn, defence!" Azura cried.

Evelyn tried to summon a spell but all she could do was create a flower bed behind her back. "Uh oh." She thankfully rolled away just in time but inadvertently rolled into an open trap door that spat her out again, only this time, high into the sky.

"Evelyn!" Gus yelled. "Make a flower bed!"

"Land on your bottom!" Mildred yelled. "Not your head!"

Evelyn, in her moment of panic, drew a spell circle. But instead of a flower bed, she grew a singular flower. But thankfully, like Mildred suggested, Evelyn landed on her rear on the singular flower, leading Azura to cringe.

"Yay! Evelyn!" Alistair cried with excitement.

Azura helped Evelyn back up and gave her a smile. "Don't worry Evelyn, I struggled with Grudgeby before I got good at it."

"Azura, don't patronise me!" Evelyn demanded.

"I'm not trying to…"

"I know!" Evelyn interjected. "But I feel it! You know Azura, before you got good at Grudgeby, you were always confident and you never had people trying to pull you down! But I did! I have for my whole life! While you were studying to become a better witch for ten years, you know what was going on with me?! I was struggling to gain my confidence and trying to put up with Jakob's bullying! All you did was stand up to him and try and protect me and even assured me! But did that make things better?! No! Everything is still the same!" Tears began to fall from her eyes. "I might as well just lose tomorrow!"

"Evelyn…." Azura tried to reach out for her but Evelyn was far gone as she ran back home. She stared at her friend running away in sadness and sighed sadly. "What do I do?"

Hecate walked up to Azura and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You did try."

Azura's cheeks slightly turned red. "Thanks Hecate."

"Yeah! Evelyn probably needs to forget about what happened to her!" Mildred cried out.

Hecate seemed surprised by what Mildred said. "Wait, what happened to Evelyn to make her not so confident?"

"Well…That's a story for another time." Azura replied.

Hecate groaned in annoyance. "How much stuff are you going to keep from me?! Just start telling me!"

Suddenly, they heard the sound of something whining. "Hey! I wasn't readyyyyy!" The mere sound of that obnoxious noise got everyone paying attention. "Come on, stop trying to take my snailllllls! I haven't even taken the amount I waaaaant!"

Alistair began covering his ears. "Daddy, I don't like that noise."

"It sounds like a cat balloon that's deflating." Gus said as he covered his ears.

Azura, Hecate and Mildred ran to the top of the bleachers to check out who Jakob was talking to. Turns out, Jakob was talking to none other than the biggest scammer in the whole Boiling Isles, Tibbles whom appeared to be selling the liquorice from his cart.

"Look, if you want this power liquorice then you better start paying the right amount. Twenty snails!"

Jakob whined even louder before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a wad of snails and handing them to the pig demon.

Jakob bit into the liquorice and moaned. "Oh, so addicting! By the way, these power liquorice work right? You aren't scamming me? Because I need this to beat a Grimwitch."

Tibbels laughed. "Mr Widebent, you can trust me that these power liquorices will give you the power to beat that dweeb! Besides, why do you think I've been using them on the Coven Heads for this long?! Oh and another thing, I'm gonna be continuing my business in downtown Bonesborough. You know, right near that abandoned inn. If you want more, then come on down here."

Azura and Hecate narrowed their eyes at the pig demon as they knew that whatever he was doing it wasn't good. "Scamming." Mildred whispered to her friends. "He's lying. There's no way that liquorice gave him and the others powers."

They crawled down the bleachers to discuss what they will do. "I noticed that when we infiltrated the Province. He was selling that same liquorice."

"Does it give them power?" Hecate asked.

Mildred just chuckled. "He's scamming, dude."

"That we don't know." Azura said. "We just need to find out."

"Okay, I bet your 10 snails that the liquorice he is selling is a scam." Mildred said.

"But how are we gonna find out what we wanna know without being seen?" Azura asked.

In that moment, an idea came to Hecate's head. "That's it! We could do it via, a stakeout!"

"Oh good, you're starting your relationship with a steak dinner." Mildred chuckled which caused Hecate to nudge her in the shoulder while Azura looked away.

"I know what I mean, Mildred." Hecate said. "We're just going to watch over him in an area where he is commonly seen and hopefully get our information from there."

Azura smiled. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea! Hopefully we'll get the information we need. But aren't we supposed to be stuck in an area for a long time when it comes to doing a stakeout? We have a lot of stuff to do. I need to do school, try and figure out what my want is and Grudgeby."

"We'll stakeout for a few hours after Grudgeby and if we don't have information that day then we do it the next day and the day after until we do. And then you'll be home in time for dinner. Sound good?"

Azura pondered for a moment before nodding. "Okay, let's do it." This comment made Mildred laugh. "Oh yeah, you two are up to something."

"Mildred, we're going home!" Gus yelled out. "You are coming."

"Coming Mr Porter." Mildred said while groaning before running down the bleachers to go home with her Dad and brother.

"You can call me Dad." Gus said.

"I would if you were." Mildred responded without a care in the world.

In that moment, Azura sighed while Hecate just narrowed her eyes at the girl. "Azura during the stakeout, you have a lot of things you need to explain to me."

"Don't listen to Mildred!" Azura said. "She is just being weird saying that we were going on a steak date! I don't have any interest in you! I mean, I knew you for a few weeks!"

"No you don't need to explain that." Hecate said. "I know she's just being ridiculous. I mean, imagine how weird it would be if you had a crush on me. Or if we had a crush on each other." The two teen girls awkwardly laughed before awkwardly staring at each other. "Hey look, a ship!"

Azura turned to where Hecate was pointing which was the Boiling Sea where she could see a ship in the far distant. "Oh yeah. Do you think this ship is going anywhere?"

"We'll see." Hecate replied.

Meanwhile at the Park residence, Evelyn was in her bedroom with O'Bailey at her side. She was currently doing her best to throw a Grudgeby ball. "I can do this. I can do this. I can do this in front of others." She threw the ball high and was about to hit it until she realised O'Bailey was here. "Oh what if I screw up?" She hit it but it wasn't a powerful hit and it just bounced off her hand and hit the floor. "Oh dang it!"

Then, Hunter entered his room. "Sweetie, is everything okay?"

"Dad, throw something at me!" Evelyn said.

"What?" Hunter responded.

"Throw something at me."

Hunter grabbed a piece of paper from the counter, scrunched it into a ball and threw it at his daughter's head.

"I mean, something with a little more oompf."

Hunter looked hesitant to hurt his daughter. "Evelyn, I don't think that's a safe idea."

"Come on! I can do it! Just throw something!" Evelyn encouraged her Dad who just threw an apple at her head. "Ow!"

In an instant, Hunter quickly began to panic and teleported to his daughter. "Evelyn, are you okay?! Are you okay?!"

Evelyn sighed. "I'm fine, Dad. It's just an apple." She sat down on her bed next to O'Bailey with Hunter following behind.

"Gus told me what happened today." Hunter sighed. "Why do you always try and challenge Jakob?"

Willow soon entered the room. "Hunter, what's going on?"

"Evelyn put herself up to challenge Jakob in a Grudgeby tournament." Hunter replied.

"Oh Evelyn, are you trying to prove yourself again?" Willow asked her daughter.

"Of course I do, Mom!" Evelyn replied. "I'm trying to build my confidence into doing stuff in front of people."

"Do you really think you can improve your life if you challenge a bully?" Willow asked.

"You did that with Mrs Blockerhon." Evelyn pointed out.

"I did, but I'm mostly worried about you getting hurt." Willow said. "Grudgeby is not a fair sport no matter how hard you play. Especially the rusty smidge."

"Evelyn, there are better ways to build your confidence." Hunter said. "We just gotta find ways that are safe."

"Uh! I can't do anything Dad! Even when a social exercise is safe I still can't do it because I get scared!" Evelyn yelled. "Like, Grudgeby, my magic classes and even my Palisman carving!" She pointed to a bit of Palistrom wood on her desk that hadn't been carved yet. "I haven't even started carving because I might cut myself or give it some kind of imperfection! I just wish there was some kind of spell to make me develop my confidence!"

"There isn't sweetie, it just needs to develop." Willow said. "Your father and I had trouble developing ours but…We got there."

"How can I when I get scared all the time?" Evelyn asked her parents. "How can I when I get confident when you get scared?"

"Because we're your parents, it's what we do." Hunter replied.

"No, I'm not saying you're the problem." Evelyn began to panic.

"What was with the implication of us being the problem?" Willow asked her daughter.

She just groaned. "I…I…I…I…I…I…I…I…I don't know anymore. Maybe I'm just born to be pathetic and unconfident."

"That is not true Evelyn." Hunter assured his daughter. "You were born to be amazing and you are going to regain that confidence. Just like you were when you were five."

"You're going to get there sweetie." Willow said to her daughter. "Believe me, I know." She kissed her daughter on the head and left the room with her husband and O'Bailey.

Once her parents left, Evelyn sighed with sadness. She did not believe a word her mother said. To her, she was just saying that to make her better.

She walked toward her drawer and pulled out a photograph. It appeared to be of a Human Realm little league softball team and in that photograph, was coach Vee and a bunch of kids. One of them happened to be a young her.

When she looked at that photo, she briefly saw a vision of a ball coming right toward her, causing her to throw the picture away.

"That looked like a cute picture." She turned around to see Rentley. She was about to scream, but then, he shot some Abomination on her mouth. "Please don't scream." He removed the Abomination from her mouth.

The Grimwalker/witch began to pant as she tried to catch her breath. "What the heck Rentley?! Why not the front door?!"

"Well, because I'm the son of your mother's bully and I thought…Ya know, she wouldn't want me around." Rentley explained.

"I told her plenty of times you were cool." Evelyn said. "What message does Jakob have this time?"

Rentley smiled. "Actually….I wanted to say something myself." He smiled at Evelyn and patted her shoulder. "Good luck. I believe you got the confidence." When she felt him pat her shoulder she felt something well up in her cheeks. Then, she looked at the way he smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Thanks." Evelyn said to him before he jumped out of the window.

When they were out of each other's eyesight, Rentley was outside complaining to himself. "Her?! You have a boyfriend, Blockerhon!"

Inside her house, Evelyn was at first gushing over Rentley but then went back to focusing on her issue. "Oh! How can I get the confidence I need to beat that jerk, his jerky friend and his beautiful boyfriend! I mean, his silent and complicit boyfriend who is friendly and does his best to stand up to his Titan dung! What do I even do? It's not like someone has invented a way to boost confidence!" She then got a notification on her scroll and summoned it.

It was a new post from her Grandpa Alador. He was taking a selfie with what appeared to be the discontinued Earth vehicle known as a DeLorean.

She smiled at the post. "I'm amazed with what you do, Grandpa." In that moment, she suddenly had a bright idea on what she needed to do. "Wait a tick." She then saw a tick on her desk and crushed it with her hand. "Uh, disgusting insect."

Later, Evelyn was outside Blight Manor to see her Grandpa. She knocked on the door for a couple of minutes until it was opened by her Grandpa Darius, whom was in his pyjamas.

"Evelyn, what do you want?" Darius asked. "Do you know what time it is?"

"It's only 8 PM."

"When you get old, you just want to sleep." Darius said.

"Okay then." Evelyn said. "Listen Grandpa Darius, is Grandpa Alador up? I need to talk to him about something."

"He's in his basement." Darius sighed, obviously not wanting to deal with this.

Darius led Evelyn into the basement where it was a mess. There were a bunch of all sorts of inventions and junk scattered all over the place.

There were random heaps of junk, tools, what looked to be models, a destroyed painting of Odalia and what looked to be a giant teddy bear.

"Dear, your granddaughter is here." Darius informed his husband.

Alador popped out from under a vehicle under a huge white sheet. "Evelyn! What brings you here?"

Evelyn walked down the stairs. "Well Grandpa…" When she got to the bottom, the huge teddy bear growled angrily, causing her to scream.

"Oh don't mind that, that was a new home security invention." Alador assured his granddaughter. "It's a teddy bear that will scream and attack any intruder. Thankfully, I didn't install the attack mechanism in it yet so it will just be screaming."

"That's quite an invention Grandpa." Evelyn said while the bear continued screaming.

"Bearry! That's my granddaughter!" Alador yelled. "Stop screaming!" The bear stopped screaming and hung its head down. "So, what brings you here, my little mitt?"

"Grandpa, I need your help with regaining my confidence." Evelyn said. "I've put myself into a Grudgby match I can't escape from and I need something that'll give me the confidence to win."

"Evelyn, I don't know if going to your grandpa for help is a bright idea. But I'm not you so you make your own decisions or screw up." Darius yawned. "I need my sleep." He walked up the stairs to leave the basement so he could leave his granddaughter and husband to screw up with whatever it was.

"Goodnight, dear!" Alador yelled out to his husband before turning to his husband. "Well, you're in luck Evelyn, because I designed the perfect device that will help." He removed a sheet to reveal a giant purple slender robot with bladed shoulders, a horn on its forehead and what looked to be an animalistic face.

"Woah Grandpa!" Evelyn exclaimed. "I said to win Grudgeby, not fight giant monsters."

"Oh good, I was going to advise you didn't use it." Alador said. "Last person that used it got quite traumatised." He pointed to Tinella Nosa whom was sitting in the corner rocking back and forth.

"The twauma! The Twauma! The indescwibable howor!" Tinella exclaimed.

"She'll be okay." Alador said. "I thought it was too big anyway, so….How about…" He reached under another sheet and pulled out a metallic spine. "…This metallic spine will help you move faster without anyone noticing. It just needs a lot of gruesome surgery that your Aunts and Uncle will gladly do. Though the side effect is it might make you go crazy that you'll go on a murder spree."

Evelyn made a whimper. "No. I don't want that."

"Why did I invent that side effect?" Alador mumbled. "Or…If you don't want any technological implants or armour, then you could do something simple? We can try out my Time Machines and make you not lose your confidence." He pointed to the DeLorean and a British phone booth. "We can go back in time to that certain point in time where you…" He saw that his granddaughter looked afraid and quickly defused her anxiety. "Or we don't whatsoever."

"Look Grandpa, these are pretty cool inventions but all I want is an invention to make me confident." Evelyn explained. "I have anxiety, I get worried, I'm not confident and more importantly I am so nervous and incompetent that I suck at everything."

Alador sighed. "Evelyn, I unfortunately don't have an invention for that sort of thing. Believe me, I know."

Evelyn looked disappointed. "Oh, I understand. I guess I should just pray to Titan for good luck." She was about to walk out until Alador got in front of her.

"I don't have inventions, but I know something that will help." He removed a sheet from what looked to be a medicine cabinet. He opened it and looked around.

"Medicine?"

"Don't worry, this isn't a medicine cabinet." Alador then froze when he pulled out a small box that read Ibuprofin. "Actually, this is the medicine cabinet." He walked to the other cabinet right next to it and opened it up to reveal potions. "There we go." He pulled out a flask of some kind of red liquid. "Permanent confidence. I've been doing potions as a hobby. I wish I picked that instead of Abomination back at old Hexside."

"That's convenient." She remarked.

He handed the flask to his granddaughter. "Just drink it all and by the morning you will be confident."

"Are there any side effects?" Evelyn asked.

"Not that I'm aware of." Alador replied. "You go ahead and be careful."

Evelyn smiled. "Thanks Grandpa!" She ran out of the lab and smiled, ready to drink it.

Alador just smiled at his granddaughter before realising something. "Unless that awakens some horrible and mean version of herself." But he didn't want to dwell on it for long, so he just shrugged his shoulders and got to work on screwing in a cabinet.

Back at the Park residence, Evelyn looked at the flask she had on her desk. She looked skeptical about taking it but then just drank it. She gagged after drinking it. "Uh! This tastes like hard apple blood." She went to bed while Willow and Hunter were outside of the house staring at the clouds.

"Looks like there's a storm coming." Hunter remarked.

"I got it." Willow used up some of her magic to summon a shield to protect her cottage from the boiling rainstorm as well as her and her husband.

She was about co collapse due to using a lot of her magic, but luckily, Hunter caught her before she could collapse.

He looked up at the clouds and whistled as one of the lightning struck. "That's very ominous."

Meanwhile, Evelyn tossed and turned in the night as she gripped on to her stomach and moaned in pain as lighting continuously flashed menacingly. The wind was fast as it blew sinisterly, a tree collapsed, the animals panicking and Luz accidentally opening an umbrella which caused a mirror to break.

She got a look at the broken shards on the floor and smiled. "Oh cool. The broken shards made 13. Oh and there's a dead ladybug."

The next day, Hunter was preparing some oatmeal for breakfast while Willow sat on the table lifting a dumbbell repeatedly.

"I feel Evelyn needs the right amount of healthy breakfast if she's going to beat Widebent once and for all." Hunter said.

"What is her beef with her though?" Willow asked. "I'd expect that from Boscha's kid but I heard he was plenty of nice."

"Look, all we need to do is give Evelyn all the encouragement she needs." Hunter said. "That'll boost her confidence. While also reminding her to keep plenty safe."

Willow rolled her eyes at her husband. "Yeah. Yeah."

They heard the sound of the door to their daughter's bedroom open and turned to face her. But what they didn't expect was their daughter wearing something different. Instead of wearing some kind of bland clothing she'd usually wear as casual, such as a plain white shirt with shrivelled flower and long pants. But today, Evelyn was wearing black boots, a green buttoned shirt, her hair was properly smooth and she was even wearing jeans.

"Morning Mom, morning Dad." Evelyn said with confident glee, surprising her parents.

"Evelyn, are you okay?" Hunter asked with his eyebrow raised.

"Okay?! I feel amazing!" She exclaimed. "I'm ready to kick Jakob's butt to the curb and win Grudgeby."

Hunter and Willow seemed surprised by what their daughter was saying. "Evelyn, you're confident that you might win?" Hunter asked.

Evelyn grinned and flicked her hair. "Never thought I'd say the C-word, but yeah."

Willow smiled at her daughter. "Evelyn, that's amazing! Be careful not to get too confident!"

Evelyn blew a raspberry. "Relax Mom, I'm all the right confident."

"Well, I'm glad you got confident, but how did you?" Hunter asked as he prepared Evelyn's breakfast.

"Just the right amount of beauty sleep." Evelyn replied before summon a vine that manoeuvred her oatmeal into her hand.

"Evelyn, did you just do magic without panicking?" Willow asked her daughter, slightly impressed.

"Yup." Evelyn replied while popping the 'P.'

"Well, you couldn't have done it without destroying the floor?" Willow asked her daughter.

"Eh, I'll fix it later." Evelyn said with a shoulder shrug before devouring her oatmeal. "Okay, Mom and Dad, I'll see you as soon as I'm done kicking his butt!" Evelyn ran out of the house before slamming the door.

Hunter and Willow stared at the door, completely stunned by how different their daughter was acting. "She's got her confidence." Hunter said. "Yet, why do I feel something is off?"

"Hunny, Evelyn's just excited about being confident." Willow said. "Remember, you were like her with your confidence."

Hunter rolled his eyes. "Yeah. Yeah. I remember it took a lot of confidence for me to ask you out."

"Yeah, she just had a bit of a strong boost." Willow said. "She'll be fine. It's not like she's going to suddenly turn into some kind of jerk." Whereas Willow looked okay, Hunter looked worried and skeptical.

At the Grudgeby field, Azura was dressed in her Grudgeby uniform waiting for Evelyn with her teammate. A male student with pinkish skin, a fang and cat claws for hands stood beside Azura. And in front was the opposing team of Jakob, Rentley and Flozz. While Hecate and Mildred sat in the bleachers together.

Azura was now talking to her teammate. "Listen Steve Jr, thanks for being on our team."

"It's okay, I was supposed to be going on a date with my girlfriend and then celebrate my Dad and Moms wedding anniversary and then go to a dentist appointment." Steve Jr said. "My mouth may be sore, but I'm glad to help."

"Thanks SJ."

"Recognition for Steve Jr." Steve Jr said.

"Wooo!" Hecate cheered. "Go Azura! Go Azura! And go Steve Jr! You and Evelyn can do it!"

"Yeah. That is if Evelyn doesn't screw it up for herself." Mildred's comment made Hecate narrow her eyes at her.

"Why are you like this?" Hecate asked. "No wait, explain later. I get it."

Jakob and Floz just laughed while they shook their heads. "Well! Well! Looks like the star player is late!"

Azura looked baffled. "Dude, it hasn't been five minutes."

"Or a minute." Steve Jr pointed out.

"Well, if she isn't here in the next ten minutes then I'll assume she forfeit." Jakob said.

Rentley just sighed. "I'm not gonna say anything. I'm not."

Then the ground began to shake, causing everyone to try and balance. Jakob held on to his boyfriend, Floz collapsed on her rear, Steve Jr stumbled, Azura summoned some vines to hold her wrists, Hecate fell on one of the seats and Mildred just sat on the seat like nothing was happening.

"Oh please, Mr Porter makes the house shake all the time." Mildred said.

Suddenly, from underground, Evelyn popped out with her arms folded in-between Azura and SJ. "Sup, Steve Jr?"

"Hey Evelyn." Steve Jr just said.

Azura, Jakob, Rentley, Floz and Hecate were completely speechless by her entrance. Even Mildred got out a little whistle. "Okay, I'm impressed."

"So, are we gonna start or what?" Evelyn asked.

Azura began to stutter a bit. "Evelyn….Why…What….How…I….I….I…"

"Azura, I was talking to the jerk in front of us." Evelyn said.

Jakob gasped. "How dare you?! That's my boyfriend!" Rentley just narrowed his eyes at his boyfriend, knowing full well this was now whom she was referring to.

"Are we starting or not?" Evelyn asked as she stretched.

Jakob huffed and tossed the first Grudgeby ball. Evelyn began running toward the ball and shot herself upwards using a vine all while avoiding fireballs. She caught the ball and threw it with such force, it managed to go through the opposing team's goal.

"What?! How?! How?!" Jakob exclaimed in shock and anger. "I wasn't ready!"

"Okay, are you ready now?" Evelyn asked before tossing the Grudgeby ball to the rival team.

Jakob began charging with the ball in hand. SJ summoned an Abomination pier to block his path. The obnoxious student tossed it to his boyfriend who then got tackled by Evelyn while tossing the ball toward Floz.

Evelyn fell on the ground with her on top of her opponent. She grinned at Rentley with a flirty look, leaving him with his cheeks turning red.

"Why you blushing, hot stuff?" Evelyn asked.

"Evelyn! I got a point in!" Azura cried.

"Talk to you later, hot stuff." Evelyn jumped back up while Rentley was left confused and a blushing mess.

And so for the next few games, there was battle axe dodging, group discussions about where to shoot, random fist fights, heckling from Mildred and obstacles hitting a few of them. All while Evelyn was just smiling and not getting hurt.

During the next match, Azura already had a black eye, SJ had a few scratches, Rentley had a few missing teeth, Floz was limping a bit and Rentley was bleeding from his mouth. While Evelyn did not have a scratch on her.

"Wow! Evelyn is very confident!" Hecate remarked.

"Luck and confidence are not the same thing." Mildred retorted.

On the court, Jakob and his team were panting. "Okay, how in the name of Azura's Uncle did she suddenly get good?" Floz asked in confusion.

"I don't know, Floz." Jakob replied.

"How did she become a different person?" Rentley asked himself.

"It doesn't matter! We have a minute till the game ends!" Jakob exclaimed. "So, let's just run in and hope everything goes to plan."

"Alright team!" Azura exclaimed. "I have a black eye, SJ you have bruises and Evelyn….You're okay but…No scratch."

"Don't worry guys, I'm gonna score this win." Evelyn began stretching.

"Okay, let's go!" Whereas Azura, SJ and the opposing team charged forward, the game suddenly came to a screeching halt when they saw that Azura's team had gained 1000 points and an automatic win.

"What?!" Everyone but Mildred exclaimed.

"Huh?" Mildred just said.

The teams looked up at Evelyn and saw that she had the Rusty Smidge in-between her finger and thumb. "Azura, we won." Evelyn said.

"What?" Azura asked before SJ collapsed.

"What?! What?! What?!" Jakob exclaimed. "But, how?!"

"Because you sucked." Evelyn responded before tossing it in his face.

"But! But! But!" The speechless Jakob continued before being carried away by Floz.

"Come on, let's get healed." She said to him.

"Now if you excuse me, I'm just going to celebrate my victory." Evelyn began to walk away, proud of herself while Azura and the others were shocked.

Mildred walked past texting on her scroll. "I'm going to tell Clarence about this."

Rentley picked up Steve Jr while staring suspiciously at Evelyn. "Come on SJ, I'll get you to the Healing Room."

"Healing packs for Steve Jr!" Steve Jr exclaimed before he turned to Azura. "Hey Azura, after I get healed, you want to hang out as friends as opposed to teammates. Maybe we could go to Alleviate or go to Jill's Sandwiches."

Azura seemed nervous. "Um….Sorry SJ, as much as I'd love to, I don't want to because….I am….Going to….."

"Hey, you don't wanna go." Steve Jr said. "The idea of having more friends scares you after what happened between you and Ja…"

"Thank you!" Azura interjected. "Rentley take him to the Healing Room."

"You got it." Rentley began to carry him while Hecate approached Azura.

"Why didn't you want to hang out with him?" Hecate asked her friend.

Azura shrugged her shoulders. "Because we got a steak out. So, where's this perfect spot?"

Later, Hecate and Azura arrived at the abandoned and dilapidated two storey inn just minutes before Tibbels will arrive to sell his liquorice.

"This place looks unstable." Azura said.

"But Tibbels will not look at something so crummy and close to being demolished." Hecate said.

"I don't know." Azura said, unsure of herself. "It looks like the kind of place my Aunt would sell bootleg Human Realm movies."

When they got upstairs, they saw Ronda selling what looked like bootlegged Human Realm movies to Mr Bateman.

"So how many snails is it for Papa Pia?" Mr Bateman asked. "I got a guy coming over and he is really into musicals."

"Give me twenty snails and I'll…" She froze when she saw her niece. "Oh, hey Azura."

Mr Bateman instantly panicked. "Oh Titan!" He spun a circle and turned into an illusion of Viney. "Yes! It's me, your Aunt Viney! Now if you excuse me, I'm gonna depart by jumping out the window!" He ran towards the windowless hole and dived out.

Ronda began to panic as well. "You did not see me, Ronda!" She reached into her hair and pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it on the floor. But it didn't blow up, causing her to panic. "Pretend it worked!" She jumped out the windowless hole, leaving Azura and Hecate briefly baffled.

"Whatever." Azura just said before she and Hecate got into position to spy on Tibbels, whom was already standing by his cart selling liquorice.

"Liquorice! Try my power liquorice!" Tibbels cried out. "Every member of the Province needs to feel some power!"

"Okay, he's just expecting customers." Hecate said.

"Someone could buy them." Azura said.

"That's true." Hecate said. "Okay, I have a ton of questions I need to ask you."

"About what?" Azura asked.

"Everything!" Hecate exclaimed. "Let's get to the most important, how many aunts, auncles and uncles do you have?"

Azura seemed surprised but then shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, I guess I can tell you. I have Aunt Emira, her wife Aunt Viney, Uncle Edric, Uncle King, great Aunt Lilith, Auncle Masha, Aunt Vee, a ton of Tios and Tias on my Mami's side, a ton of aunts and uncles on my Mom's side and since he desperately wanted to be a part of some kind of family, I have to class Hooty as an uncle."

"So, a ton?" Hecate asked.

"Yup, a ton." Azura said.

"Oh wait, here's another important question. Why are you so picky with your friends?" Hecate asked.

Azura sighed. "It's because I have trust issues when it comes to friends."

"Really?" Hecate asked. "You're so popular. Well, you should be since you are the daughter of the woman who saved the Boiling Isles."

"Well….I did have a few friends." Azura responded. "But they moved to St Epidurm. But when I started to get picky with my friends began when I was five. I was friends with Jakob."

Hecate gasped before picking up a box of apple blood, drank it and then spat it out to emphasise her shock. "What?" She whispered. "You were and Jakob were friends?!"

"We were." Azura replied. "It was before I began to study hard and just kind of not hang out with my friends that much. But he only took advantage of our friendship just so he could meet my Mami. All he asked was when could I meet your Mami. But I never did because I kept getting distracted by other things such as Evelyn. Hope he wasn't in the Province at that point in time because that would explain why he suddenly turned into an antagonist from a stalker movie. And after that, I guess he wanted to harass Evelyn as revenge. But I guess that revenge got a bit fun because he continues to harass Evelyn."

"So, the reason why you didn't have a lot of friends was because you were afraid they'd be obsessive?"

"Pretty much." Azura confirmed.

"So wait, if you're worried about making friends, then why me?"

Azura smiled. "I just had a good feeling about you."

This comment made Hecate smile before she and Azura went back to spying on Tibbles whom was selling his liquorice to Terra Snapdragon. "I feel more powerful the more I consume!" Terra exclaimed before eating one and retreating underground.

Then, in that moment, Tibbles began to close up shop. "Okay, that's enough gullible customers." He said to himself out loud.

"Wow, that's not good for business." Hecate remarked.

Meanwhile at the Park residence, Hunter, Willow and Evelyn were having dinner together. It looked to be some kind of spaghetti and meatball dish, only the meatballs were eyeballs. Evelyn was currently boasting about her victory against Jakob today.

"And then, I began walking nonchalantly while Azura and Steve Jr ran in." Evelyn boasted. "And that's when, I caught that Rust Smidge in my finger and thumb like it were nothing more than a bug!"

Willow applauded. "Wow, Evelyn. That's amazing. You gonna sign up for Grudgeby?"

Evelyn blew a raspberry. "Nah! That sport is for the weak."

"Is it?" Hunter asked. "I heard your aunt Amity broke her leg."

Evelyn just scoffed. "Nah! She was just weak."

Hunter and Willow were surprised by what their daughter had just said about her Aunt Amity. "That's not nice, Evelyn." Hunter remarked.

"Oh yeah." Evelyn chuckled. "What's the nicer way of saying weak?"

"Maybe…..A little rusty." Willow suggested.

"I mean, I'd prefer a sport with a challenge like…..I don't know." Evelyn said.

"We could do Flyer Derby together." Willow said. "That will get your blood pumping! You'd just need a Palisman!"

"You can borrow Waffles if you like. She'll keep you safe." Hunter said.

Evelyn groaned. "Man, Flyer Derby? Uh, that's more safe than Grudgeby. I could do that without a Palisman."

"Well, it's mandatory to have a Palisman." Willow said.

"Yeah but that doesn't mean I'll use it." Evelyn said before standing up and cleaning her dish. She wiped some sweat off her brow. "I'm gonna have a shower. I have a big day tomorrow."

"What day?" Hunter asked.

"The day I tell Rentley how I feel about him." Evelyn declared before slamming the door to the bathroom shut.

Once Evelyn was in the bathroom, Hunter and Willow were staring at the door with disbelief. "Willow, is there something odd with Evelyn?"

"She's attracted to Boscha's son?" Willow grinned. "I heard he was a really nice. Like, I can see why she'd go for him."

"No, Willow. Is Evelyn different to you?" Hunter asked his wife.

"Yeah." Willow agreed. "She's confident but it's more of a smug confidence. Hunter, what if after ten years of lack of confidence, her confidence is making us weak to her?"

"No. Evelyn's just….Ya know, happy to win." Hunter said with denial. "I don't think Evelyn's gonna become some inconsiderate jerk because of her newfound confidence." While Hunter was in complete denial, O'Bailey was growling at the bathroom door while the respective Palisman just looked worried.

The next day at the Blockerhon residence, Rentley was in his bedroom staring at a bulletin board of all the Province members he could remember, the artefacts they had stolen and a few notes. Plan, members and a bunch of question marks at some pictures of the Bane and the Spook. "How did this happen?" He picked up a smaller board which had two pictures.

One was Evelyn looking embarrassed while eating her dinner and the other was of the confident Evelyn. He was questioning how Evelyn suddenly went from nervous to super confident. "That can't be done in a day."

Harriet walked into her son's bedroom with a plated sandwich in her hand. "Rentley dear, I have some lunch."

Rentley began to panic as he hid the bulletin board from his mother. "Yeah, sure."

Harriet stared at her son with a surprised expression. "Why do you have pictures of the Park kid on a bulletin board?"

"Uh…Investigating." Rentley responded while his mother grinned.

"You know, you don't need to be embarrassed about falling in love with someone else." She pointed out. "Jakob is too mean for you anyway."

"Look, Jakob's fine, Evelyn is just….A side project." Rentley said.

"Whatever you say." Harriet said teasingly while leaving her son.

"Mom!" Rentley used his magic to shut the door and exhaled. He began to look back at the small board to try and understand how this girl he liked….As a friend….Would suddenly become this confident witch. Uh, all this is making me hungry." He picked up his plated sandwich where he noticed that half of it was missing. But not eaten, more like torn off.

He looked over his bed and saw Evelyn sucking on her fingers like she had just finished eating something. "Guess I'm climbing through windows now."

Rentley began to panic. "Evelyn! What the Titan are you doing in my bedroom?! How did you get up?!"

"I had a ladder." Evelyn replied. "As in my vines."

"What?!" Rentley exclaimed. "My Mom will notice."

"She won't!"

Outside, Boscha did notice a tall vine going up to her son's bedroom and just grinned. "My boy is trying to best Park. That's my boy."

Back upstairs, Rentley was still annoyed with Evelyn's intrusion. "What are you doing here? If you're here to boast your victory to Jakob, then he's not here."

"Actually…." She began crawling on his bed toward him. "….I came here to see you hot stuff."

Rentley blushed uncomfortably. "Evelyn…."

"Awww, you're blushing." Evelyn remarked. "You know I never realised it was cute when you blushed."

"Are you flirting with me?" Rentley asked.

"You tell me. You have three eyes so you must see very clearly." She winked, causing Rentley to groan while blushing. "Look, Rentley, let's face it, there was something between us."

Rentley narrowed his eyes at the girl in response. "What are you talking about?!"

Evelyn jumped up and held the uncomfortable teenager by his shoulders. "Us, silly. Don't deny it, Mr Blockerhon, you know that you and me happening was inevitable. Imagine me, your confident and awesome girlfriend and you, a cool witch with a bit of a scowl especially in those eyebrows."

"I do not scowl!" Rentley argued while scowling. "Evelyn, you know I have a boyfriend."

"Need I remind you he's a part of the Province that tried to kill Hecate."

Rentley sighed. "Look, if I don't get information from Jakob then your family might be next."

Evelyn rolled up her sleeves and began to flex her arm, revealing some muscle. "Then they should get passed my mother's muscles that I inherited."

Rentley sighed. "Evelyn, you're right and wrong about some things. You're right about me liking you. But, you're wrong about liking you."

Evelyn seemed baffled. "Uh…..What? Of course you like me."

"I liked the Evelyn before." Rentley explained. "Sure she was nervous, but there was a sweet side to her that I admired. But, you're not Evelyn, you're just someone else. Someone else I can't even identify."

Evelyn instead of being upset, just narrowed her eyes at Rentley before grinning. "Well, I guess I should go. But before I leave."

Downstairs in the kitchen, Boscha was busy cleaning the dishes not even caring about the affection her wife was giving her. They then heard a thud coming from upstairs, startling Boscha and her wife.

Harriet opened the door to her son's bedroom. "Dear, is everything okay?" She froze when she saw what happened to her son. He was trapped against the wall of his bedroom by the vines. "What happened, dear?"

Rentley sighed. "I wish it were a lover's quarrel. But it's not."

Meanwhile, Azura and Hecate were walking toward the inn to spy on Tibbels. Hecate was holding a bunch of snacks in her hand.

"Why do you have snacks?" Azura asked her friend.

Hecate smiled. "We're gonna be hungry. We might as well snack."

"You mean packets of hex mix, inferno peppers and black and white cheese? Well, least the cheese is the more silent snack." Azura said.

Suddenly, a dog jumped on Azura and began to lick her face. She laughed while the dog showed its affection. "Hi O'Bailey."

"O'Bailey!" The voice of his owner made the dog jump off of her and towards Hunter. "What have we said about jumping on people and licking their faces? Oh hey girls."

Azura wiped the drool off her face. "Hey Uncle Hunter. O'Bailey walk?"

"Yeah. He wanted to get some air even though about two animals tried to eat him." Hunter replied. "Even a demon that looked like his dog food tried to eat him. What are you two doing?"

Azura shrugged her shoulders. "Me and Hecate are just going to hang out on the abandoned inn together."

"Okay, that's cool. Hey, do you know what's wrong with Evelyn recently?" Hunter asked. "She's a lot more…Not Evelyn."

"Yeah, I noticed." Hecate replied.

"She's confident and not in the sort of healthy way." She remarked. "More like the smug way."

"Yeah, that's what I noticed." Hunter remarked. "I just hope she doesn't get any worst. Well, have a fun time you two." He and O'Bailey walked away.

"Should we be concerned about Evelyn?" Hecate asked.

"She's just going through a phase, she'll be fine." Azura replied before the two continued walking where they bump into Mildred, whom appeared to be eating some liquorice.

"Wow, are you two on a date or what?" Mildred asked.

"Not that, Mildred!" Azura exclaimed while blushing. "Just because you see me and Hecate together does not mean we are dating!"

"That's what you say." Mildred retorted before taking a bite out of some liquorice.

"Mildred, is that liquorice?" Hecate asked.

"Yeah, brought some from Tibbels." Mildred replied. "I don't understand why these Province guys are going nuts for them. They're addictive but I don't feel powerful. It's more like a ton of sugar. Right, good luck with what you're doing." She began to walk away while still eating the liquorice. "Even though you're going to get spotted sooner or later."

Once she left, Hecate just narrowed her eyes at her while she strolled away. "I hate her sometimes."

Later, inside the old inn, Azura opened a bag of hex mix and began to munch on a handful while Hecate was drinking a carton of apple blood. In that moment, they saw Tibbels selling some liquorice to the dishevelled Adrian Graye.

"Thank you!" Adrian snatched it out of Tibbels' hand and began to devour it. "Oh! I feel the power coursing through my veins! And I want more! Give me!" He tried to dig for more in his cart, causing Tibbels to reach down and grab a bottle of spray.

"No!" He sprayed Adrian, causing the former Coven Head to hiss like a cat. "No! Down boy!" Adrian made one last hiss before running away on all fours. "Uh! Some customers!"

In that moment, Hecate had an important question to ask her friend. "Hey Azura, how can a from the Human Realm dog survive the Demon Realm?"

"You mean O'Bailey?" Hecate nods her head in response. "Well, you see, around a few years ago, Uncle Hunter was walking around the Human Realm reminiscing about Evelyn's softball days….Uh, another story; Anyway, during his walk, he found a puppy that had been beaten, bruised and neglected by whoever was raising him. So he decided to send him to the veterinarian to have him looked at. He kept visiting the animal while it was being tended to and I guess in that moment, he and O'Bailey developed a bond. Because before you know it, Hunter had a dog in the Demon Realm. And let's just say, he was quite overprotective."

"Why wouldn't he?" Hecate responded. "This place would eat him up alive."

"Well, somehow the dog survived and has been a huge part of the Park family ever since."

"Awww!" Hecate cooed. "Oh and what about Mildred? What's her issue? Why is she so….Uncaring?"

Azura sighed. "I don't know why she's like this. She was like this ever since Gus adopted her. You see, she wasn't raised in an orphanage. Ten years ago, we were at the beach. Me and Evelyn were wondering the beach while the adults mostly stayed behind to watch Manny play in the sand. Because, how can you not resist a baby playing in the sand? When we wandered off, we found an unopened crate and well…We opened it. Inside, we found a girl around our age curled up in the corner scared and alone. Being five years old, we got our parents and Gus as opposed to doing it on our own. We asked her a ton of questions about where she came from and why she was so terrified but she never answered. All we got as her name, Mildred. After a couple of weeks, Mildred eventually became Gus' adopted daughter and well…She became the cynical and sarcastic friend who doesn't care at all."

He ate in that moment, pictured Mildred as a scared and vulnerable child. She did some study in psychology thanks to being homeschooled and she read somewhere that some children become a bit bitter and cynical due to an awful incident in their lives. "Oh wow. What happened to her?"

"We don't know." Azura replied. "But something tells me that she does care, she is just scared to show it."

Hecate watched at Mildred in the distant just scratching her butt while eating the liquorice. She then sneezed and managed to lick the mucus dripping from her nose. He ate just gagged, not understanding how someone like her could go something tragic.

Meanwhile at the Park cottage, Evelyn was busy carving her Palisman. "Almost done. Getting the tail down and that long snout….Perfect!"

Hunter and Willow quietly entered their daughter's bedroom with worried expressions. "Baby flower." Willow said, trying to get her daughter's attention.

"Huh, whaddup Mom?" Evelyn asked. "Just finished my Palisman." She showed her parents the Palisman she made which looked like an anteater.

Hunter whistled at the Palisman, admiring how it looked. "It looks amazing sweetie. But, we're here to talk to you about something. Mrs Blockerhon called."

"Oh, what does Boscha want?" She asked without a care in the world.

"If it was Boscha our house would be destroyed." Willow said. "Look, Harriet called us and said you nailed her son to the wall."

Evelyn chuckled. "Oh I wish."

"Evelyn!" Hunter scolded his daughter. "You nailed her son to his bedroom wall with your magic."

"Yeah." Evelyn admitted.

Him and his wife crossed crossed arms. "This isn't like you, young lady." Willow scolded.

Evelyn narrowed her eyes at her parents. "What would the old me have done? Panic? Stutter? Or just get so afraid of failure that she becomes an embarrassment?! I wouldn't be that mess of a person if I make that one flub at that final match!"

"Evelyn, what happened ten years ago wasn't your fault!" Hunter exclaimed.

"Well whatever happen to me, I turned into a pathetic loser and you know what happened to that pathetic loser? She went! She went! And she'll never be seen again!" Evelyn exclaimed angrily causing her eyes to glow and to summon a strong vine from the ground. But instead of hiding in fear like the Palismen and dog were doing, Hunter and Willow were just narrowing their eyes at her. "So you better get used to this new me because I love this one!"

The parents just narrowed their eyes at her for a while but then they exhaled. "Baby flower, I don't know what's going on with you." Willow said gently. "But please, whatever's going on, work it out."

"Because we love you Evelyn, we just don't like the person you're being right now." They closed the door on their daughter.

Evelyn narrowed her eyebrows before staring at the vines in anger. She made them disappear underground before narrowing her eyes at the Palisman she finished. She picked it up and then tossed it out the window in anger.

She pants in frustration over what had happened before reaching into the drawer and pulling out a photograph of her at five years old with coach Vee in what appeared to be a little league softball team. She crumbled that photo up in anger before tossing it back in her drawer. "How did I end up so pathetic?"

"This is not who you are." Evelyn gripped the edge of her desk in anger and turned to face her bedroom mirror to see a reflection of her former self looking back at her. "Do you really think being confident is treating people that love you like a complete jerk?"

Evelyn narrowed her eyes at the reflection. "Why are you pathetic?! Why couldn't you be confident?"

"Look at you, instead of taking time to develop your confidence through some form of healthy therapy you took the easy way out and drank a potion that turned you into this." The reflection said.

"Shut up you pathetic reflection!" Evelyn screamed in anger. "Why do you want me to go back to this?!" She pointed at the reflection.

"Because everyone loved her."

Evelyn began to shed some tears while narrowing her eyes at the reflection before screaming and tossing a photo of her and her parents at her mirror, shattering it. She panted in anger while Willow and Hunter were outside fearful and worried about what was going on with their daughter.

The next day at Hexside, Barcus had just told Clarence to sit back down after his latest potion test. "Don't worry Clarence, you'll get better at your potions." Barcus barked. "Just get better instead of making E's. Now, Evelyn." Evelyn walked up to the front of the class with a confident stride. "It's okay if you fail again."

"It's what you're good at." Jakob and Floz laughed while Rentley looked nervous since he saw what Evelyn had become before.

Evelyn pulled out her potion and drew a spell circle underneath it to warm it up. This caused some fireworks to launch out of her cylinder that spelled out 'I rule, you drool.' This very rude message caused everyone in attendance to gasp and to be offended.

Barcus walked up to Evelyn looking mildly offended while impressed. "It's impressive you made a firework potion but I am offended saying I drool." Barcus barked. "I mean, it's offensive to me." He said while drooling. "You get an A- minutes which in that case means you're dismissed because I am really hungry for those snacks on my desk."

Later, Evelyn was digging through her locker for her stuff. She dug out what she was looking for before turning to her reflection in the mirror. In that reflection, she saw her old self.

"You should go back to your Grandpa Alador to turn you back." The reflection said.

"Shut up!" Evelyn yelled at her reflection. "Grandpa Alador made me this way and he won't turn me back!"

Unbeknownst to her though, Rentley had just listened to what she had said. Every word. He pulled a determined look before running away.

Azura, Mildred and Hecate approach their friend. "Hey." Hecate said.

Evelyn pulled a confident smile at her friends. "Oh hey gals, what is it?"

"Listen, Evelyn, we're concerned about you." Azura said.

"I'm not." Mildred got an elbow nudge from Hecate.

"Listen, Evelyn, we've been hearing what's going on." Hecate said.

"Your Mom told my Mom what had happened." Azura said. "Is everything okay?"

"Okay?!" Evelyn's eye began to twitch. "I'm okay!"

"You punched your mirror." Mildred pointed out. "Like, how you did that without your knuckles bleeding is impressive."

Evelyn just huffed. "Thanks, Mildred."

"Look, like it's none of my business but these two just dragged me here so I could help." Mildred explained. "And you know what, seeing you confident is kind of freaking me out a little. I miss the old Evelyn."

"You still like muscles?" She flexed her muscles to Mildred, causing her to drool.

"Okay, you can stay like that."

"Mildred!" Azura and Hecate exclaimed.

Mildred sighed. "Okay, okay! Evelyn, I miss the old pathetic Evelyn, I love your muscles but your confident attitude is freaking us out. But mainly them."

Evelyn groaned. "Why do you want me to go back to that Evelyn?! Can't you see I'm perfectly happy the way I am?!"

"Well we aren't." Azura said. "Evelyn, we care about you!"

"You care?!" Evelyn's eyes began to glow as vines shot out of the ground. "You care?! Azura, you spent ten years of your life studying and what was going on with me?! I was being bullied by him when I needed you the most! Sure I had my parents but I also needed my friends! And you Mildred, I don't know what traumatic experience you had in your past when we found you in that crate, couldn't you just be grateful that you have us to help you?!" Mildred just gave a deadpanned look while twitching her eye. "And you…Hecate!" Hecate flinched as she prepared to what insult she had planned but then, Evelyn just sighed as her eyes stopped glowing. "I can't say anything bad about you. You're actually trying."

Mildred narrowed her eyes at Hecate. "Chump."

"If you can't accept me for who I am, then what's the point in being friends with you?!" Evelyn began to walk away in anger where she walked past a bunch of terrified students.

The terrified Principal Terrace walked out of one of the secret corridors. "Okay students! Everything's cool! I hope! Just go back to doing your own business! Just a stressed out student! Please pay no attention to the vines that have grown out the ground."

As Evelyn marched out of the school, she walked past reflections of herself staring back at her through the window. One of them being her at five years old dressed in a softball uniform, another being her former self and the other was her with an Amphibi-Anne shirt. "No!" Evelyn screamed. "Why should I be you?! I can't be you three ever again!"

When she got out of Hexside, she was leaving a trail of little flowers that sprouted with every step she took.

Later at the abandoned inn, Azura and Hecate were watching Tibbels while he stood by his stand selling his liquorice to customers.

"For the Province." Tibbels said.

"For the Province." The customer said while taking the liquorice.

"Do you have any idea what kind of information we're getting just by watching him?" Hecate asked.

"Yeah, all he's doing is just selling the liquorice and that's about it." Azura said.

"A lot of people seemed to be affected, but Mildred didn't." Hecate remarked. "Does it work on some and not others?"

Azura shrugged. "Well, Mildred's just Mildred and that's about it."

"True. By the way, should we be concerned about Evelyn?" Hecate asked. "She's acting intense."

"She's going through a phase." Azura replied. "I mean, we all go through one."

"Wait, yesterday you mentioned that Evelyn was on the little league softball team." Hecate said.

"Yeah?"

"Is that a human sport?"

"Yeah."

"Wait, is that why Evelyn became what she was? Because she failed the sport?" Hecate asked.

"She used to be so confident." Azura explained. "She got it from her Mom. She was a star softball player with my Aunt Vee. Until one day, at the final match of the month, she was out in the field about to catch the ball that had been hit by the player that was batting but that player hit a little too hard and hit her in the head. She was rendered unconscious for a few weeks until she woke up and suddenly, she was terrified to almost do everything. She got a lot of trauma from it and her Dad became a little more protective."

Hecate was shocked. "Oh Azura, I am so sorry."

"You know, as much as I pegged Evelyn to be confident, I do miss the old her." Azura sighed sadly remembering what she had said before about her not being there for ten years. "Makes me think about how I abandoned her when she needed me most. Ten years of trying to achieve being a powerful witch and all I ever achieved was hurting my cousin."

Hecate patted her on the back, causing her cheeks to turn red. "Hey, you have plenty of time to talk to her and apologise. Hey wait, I have an idea to know why the liquorice works for some and works for no one else."

But outside, Evelyn was walking around the small town leaving a trail of flowers that seemed to get bigger with every step she made. "Imposter."

"True loser."

"Lonely."

"You're going to be alone."

"No one will love the new you."

"You are an awful person!"

"Shut up! Shut up! I love myself the way I am!" Evelyn cried. "I love myself! I love myself!"

Meanwhile, Azura and Hecate later walked up toward Tibbels who quickly began to hide behind the cart. "Ahhhh!"

Azura and Hecate stared at each other in confusion until they realised something. "I guess he did see us." Azura said.

"We should have gone with disguises." Hecate suggested.

Tibbels popped his head out. "Not you two! AHHHHHH!" He pointed to something behind the two before getting snatched by a vine.

The girls were shocked and confused for a moment before turning around to stare at something horrifying. "Evelyn?"

Meanwhile at their home, Willow had just finished with a phone call with Principal Terrace. "Okay, he's going to know." She hung up the crow phone and pressed her hand against her face and exhaled. Clover flew to their owner and nuzzled her face in an effort to give her some comfort.

Hunter entered the house after a long day of Palisman carving with Waffles following behind. "Willow, is something wrong?"

Willow gave her husband a concerned look. "Lily Flower, it's Evelyn. Principal Terrace called saying she's not okay. She summoned her vines while yelling at Azura, Hecate and Mildred."

Hunter sat beside his wife with worry all over his face. "Where is she now?"

"I don't know." Willow replied looking worried. "Do you think her breakdown has something to do with what's going on with her right now?"

Hunter sighed. "I don't want to assume the worst, but when she gets home I'm going to get her to talk and apologise for everything."

Willow took her husband's hand. "It wasn't your fault. You were scared. She'll come back right outside the door soon." They heard a knock from the door. "See? She's here."

"I think you mean, he's here." The voice of Rentley said.

Hunter and Willow stared at each other with surprise before Willow used her magic to unlock the door. "Can I help you?" Willow asked.

Rentley stared at Mrs Park looked absolutely nervous about meeting his Mom's arch nemesis. "Mrs…Park. My name is Rentley Blockerhon. I am, Boscha's son. And…And…And…And….I'm not here to…To…"

Willow smiled. "Hey, whatever your Mom told me about me, there's no need to be afraid."

"No, she told me you were a dumb half-a-witch." He stuttered nervously. "But I don't think you are…I….I…I….I like Flyer Derby and…"

Hunter walked up to the door with his arms folded. "What is it? Is it to do with my daughter?"

Rentley's nervous expression vanished and quickly adjusted himself. "Listen, I've been seeing how much of a…Different person your daughter is."

"Don't worry, we've noticed." Hunter said. "It's not really subtle."

"You mean you've been seeing her as a complete jerk as well?" Rentley cringed at his comment. "Sorry, I…."

"It's okay." Willow assured him. "Jerk is the only way I can describe it."

"What information do you have about it?" Hunter asked.

"I overheard her say something in the corridor." Rentley explained. "I don't know if it's true, but she was saying something about gaining her confidence from her Grandpa. Can't remember which one though."

In that moment, Willow and Hunter's eyes went wide. "Ohhhhh!" Willow's eyebrows narrowed. "Lily Flower, hold your breath." Hunter held his breath before his wife summoned a flower that ate him, her and Rentley.

In Alador's lab, Alador was busy inventing his Time Machine, specifically the car one. "Okay, should I make this bigger on the inside? I wonder if there's a spell for that?"

Suddenly, Willow, Rentley and Hunter shot out from the floor. Willow and Hunter were narrowing their eyes while Rentley was trying to catch his breath.

"Don't worry, takes a bit to get used to." Hunter assured the young witch.

"Willow?!" Alador exclaimed. "You couldn't use the front door?!"

"I would, but I'm a little angry right now!" Willow yelled at her father-in-law. While Willow was telling, Hunter placed some snails on Alador's desk to pay for damages. "What did you do to my daughter?!"

"You mean the confidence potion?" Alador asked.

"Wait, how did you know we were here for that?" Willow asked, genuinely surprised.

"You're probably wondering why your daughter got so confident." Alador said. "I gave her the apple blood to boost her self esteem."

"But you said it was a potion." Rentley accidentally bumped into a gizmo that looked like a blender, causing it to start going crazy.

"No, it was meant to be a psychological way of unlocking Evelyn's confidence." Alador explained. "I told her a little lie saying that a potion will help her with her confidence but in actuality, she unlocked it herself."

Hunter, Willow and Rentley stared at each other in surprise. "Wait, so her being a jerk is just….Her?" Hunter reacted.

"Wow, I did not expect that." Willow said.

"Does something like this have any repercussions?" Rentley asked.

"Well, sometimes, it causes them to start having an identity crisis." Alador's response made Willow, Hunter and Rentley freeze. "I'm judging by that reaction it has led to something bad."

Darius then ran down the stairs. "Dear, you better come look at this!" Darius noticed the three guests in the basement and sighed. "The front door exists you know."

"What's the matter, Darius?" Hunter asked.

"It's your daughter." Darius replied. "She's losing herself in Bonesborough."

Later, Hunter, Willow, Rentley and Alador popped out from the ground to see a horrifying sight. Right in front of them were a bunch of people trapped in some strong vines. This included Tibbels, Steve Jr, Azura and Hecate. And there was a ginormous cocoon that was causing them to sprout.

"Oh no!" Hunter and Willow knew from that sight that this was something she was going through when she was suffering her own emotional turmoil and when she kept it in for too long, it made things so much worse for them.

They saw that the vines were moving slowly towards them and the town which made them realise that if this continued then the town would be turned into a botanical garden.

"Oh this is bad." Rentley said.

"Where are the council?" Willow asked.

"They should be here by now." Alador remarked.

"We were." They looked to the right and saw Eda, Lilith, Raine, Eberwolf, Steve, Amber, Derwin, Katya and Hooty. "But that granddaughter of yours is a little too powerful."

"So this is what suffocated by a plant feels like." Hooty remarked. "Feel better than being suffocated by a snake. Hoot."

"Looks like you got this." Lilith said. "Go save her!"

Hunter, Willow, Rentley and Alador began trekking through the vines and straight towards the cocoon. During the walk they swore they were hearing voices.

"Leave."

"This ain't you."

"When will you realise it?"

When they got closer to the cocoon, the vines began shooting out and tried grabbing them. Thankfully, Willow was around to tame them. "Evelyn! This is your mother!" Willow yelled out. "Your Dad and I are here to help you!"

"No! Go away! I'm okay!"

"Evelyn, you're not okay!" Hunter exclaimed. "We're going to help you!"

"No!" She screamed, causing more vines to sprout out from the ground. But unfortunately, Willow wasn't prepared to tame them and got held by her ankle.

Alador freed her by firing an Abomination shard, destroying it. Then, he got held by the wrist until Rentley used an Abomination blade to free him.

Hunter almost got caught in a vine but he thankfully teleported and summoned Waffles so he could fight them off. Willow summoned Clover and used her power to make the vines tie themselves in a knot.

Alador summoned his rat Palisman, Ratticus and used his power to summon a huge Abomination saw to slice the vines.

Rentley was about to summon his Palisman but then, he realised that he didn't have a Palisman. "Oh, right."

A vine with teeth tried to attack him, but then Rentley summoned an Abomination fist and punched it right in its face, decimating it.

And so, the adults and young witch fought off the vines but they didn't notice how much they were expanding throughout the town and knew that had to do something soon.

"What do we do?!" Alador exclaimed. "I can't hold them off forever."

"Neither can I!" Rentley said. "My Mom would ground me if she found out I was beaten by a Park."

Soon the vines were trying to surround them by doing their best to tear them apart. "Willow, I'm gonna try and get inside the cocoon."

"I'm getting a little exhausted." Willow said while trying to control the vines. "Alador, Rentley, could you hold them off while me and Hunter talk to our daughter?"

Rentley tried controlling the plants though not a master, he was doing an adequate job. Alador was using an Abomination buzzsaw to cut them up. "Go ahead and make it quick!"

Hunter held on to his wife and stared at the cocoon with determination. He had one shot before the vines got him and his wife. And in a flash, he teleported him and his wife into the cocoon.

When they got inside, they were seeing Evelyn on her knees, tears dripping from her eyes trying to convince herself. "I'm confident. I'm confident. I can do it."

"Evelyn!" Hunter yelled out to his daughter.

"We're going to get you out." Willow assured her as her and her husband walked toward her looking worried.

"It's okay!" Evelyn exclaimed nervously. "It's okay! Grandpa Alador gave me a potion to boost my confidence! Maybe I just need another!"

"Evelyn, it was just apple blood." Hunter said. "This confidence did not come from that, it came from you."

Evelyn was in utter disbelief. "No! No! I couldn't have!"

"It was a psychological trick." Willow explained. "You're struggling with your identity right now aren't you?"

"No! No! I like being confident!" Evelyn yelled. "Yeah….I hurt people but I….I….Whatever, it's worth it! No! You're destroying the town! So what?! So what?!" Evelyn gripped to her head. "I….I…..I….I….I…I…Love what I am…I do, yes!"

In that moment, Hunter and Willow took a gentle hold of their daughter. "Do you really?" Willow asked.

"After all the insults you made? After how you treated everyone? How you're destroying the city? Is this what you call confidence?" Hunter asked his daughter. "You'll get your confidence someday, Evelyn. But do you think becoming this is the best way?"

Evelyn sniffled some tears and bit her lip hard before inhaling hard. "No! I can't stand the way I am! I….I hurt so many people! How….How….How did I end up like this?"

The cocoon began to shake as Evelyn cried louder. And the vines outside began to collapse and die down, which caused Rentley and Alador some confusion for a moment but then they saw the cocoon collapse.

The fact that Hunter, Willow and Evelyn were still inside sent them into a panic. They began to dig through the dead plant to see if they could find anything but fortunately they didn't find them.

Alador gave a sigh of relief. "They got out."

At the Park residence, the Park family were outside the house on their knees hugging each other. While Evelyn just balled her eyes out, Hunter and Willow just held to her while tears of their own fell out. Despite the fact that Evelyn had a stressful few days where she was something else, she was greatly appreciative of her parents being there and helping rescue her from her crazy identity crisis.

Back in Bonesborough, the Council's scouts were getting rid of the vines that had surrounded the town. A lot of the healers were there to help those that were injured but thankfully they were minor ones.

Tibbels was drinking some hot cocoa to help with his anxiety where he was approached by Azura and Hecate.

"What do you two want?" Tibbels asked with disinterest.

"The liquorice." Azura replied.

"Talk!" Hecate demanded. "We know you're in the Province! So talk!"

Tibbels sighed. "Okay! Okay! Don't tell anyone! But I'm not in the Province."

Azura and Hecate looked rather surprised. "What?!"

"I'm not in the Province." He whispered.

"Why were you there?" Azura asked.

"I was scamming them with this liquorice." Tibbels replied while showing them the liquorice. "It doesn't grant you powers! It just has so much sugar it makes you really addicted."

Azura and Hecate looked at each other in surprise. "So….You're not a member?"

"No! Why would I be a member of something like a cult for Belos?!" Tibbels exclaimed. "He almost got rid of all my customers on the Day of Unity! He pulled the greatest scam of all time and it almost killed worthy customers!"

"So….You're scamming them back?" Azura asked.

"Yes!" Tibbels replied.

"Oh, that's surprising." Hecate remarked.

"And it does sound like you." Azura remarked.

The demon pig laughed. "Oh! Did you expect me to be a villainous cult member?! The biggest idiots of all time?!"

"So are scammers." Azura retorted.

Tibbels narrowed his eyes angrily. "Why you…."

"Tibbels, since you're not part of the Province and have been to its meetings…Do you have any information?" Azura asked.

Tibbels grinned. "I may be a scammer, but believe me, I know some things. Okay, I don't know what they're planning. But since they are trying to rebuild a branding glove, gained a tablet that can bring life and an idol that can allegedly cast powers beyond comprehension, something tells me they're trying to bring back Belos. I don't know if literally or metaphorically, but something tells me it's bad."

Azura and Hecate gave each other some worried looks before letting the little pig demon go. "Go home. And make sure we get information as soon as possible."

Tibbels bowed his head before running away. He returned a few seconds later and smiled. "Would you want some liquorice?"

"No." Azura and Hecate responded instantly.

"Figured." Tibbels said before running away.

"Woof, those few days were rough." Azura remarked.

"Yeah." Hecate agreed. "Least we know we got an ally on our side. And thanks."

"No problem." Azura responded. "My Mami and Mom would have done the same thing we did."

"With or without romantic tension?" Hecate asked with a smirk.

Azura chuckled. "Yeah, right." She and Hecate gave each other some looks before the girl with red hair awkwardly coughed.

"Okay, well, I hope we do this again sometime." Hecate said.

"Me too." Azura responded. "We have a lot of work to do."

"Of course we do." Hecate smiled at Azura before she departed while Azura stared at her.

She held on to her heart as she felt it beat like crazy. "What's going on with you? Hope it's nothing."

Meanwhile, Tibbels had managed to get home to his small little hut. He was about to enter the home to hit the hay until he felt a presence behind him.

He turned around to see the Bane, Kikimora and the Spook standing right in front of him. He began to panic and tried to unlock the door to his home, but unfortunately, the Spook threw a dagger at him, hitting his door.

"Wh-What is it?" Tibbels asked with fear and nervousness.

The Bane began to slowly approach him with murderous intent. "The Spook told me about the liquorice."

"How did they know?" Tibbels shook with fear. "They weren't there. I know because I checked."

"You think I just wear this mask when I'm out all the time?" They asked with a smug smile behind the mask.

The Bane pulled his staff out from his satchel, teleported in front of Tibbels and grabbed him by the back of his head. "Do you think of me as a fool?"

Tibbels shuddered. "Well…Well…I…I…

"Don't stutter. I know what you've said." The Bane said. "Did you think you were going to keep scamming people with no consequences?"

Tibbels gave a small smile. "Well…Things don't go my way. My scams usually end with my stand destroyed, shrunken down or having my butt bruised for a few weeks."

The Bane tightened their grip on his head. "Do you eat?"

Tibbels looked confused. "Of course I do. Where do you think all my ends meat goes to?"

"You like meat Tibbels?"

Tibbels grinned. "Gotta get protein somehow."

"Have you tried the Human Realm dish known as pork?"

"No."

"Do you know what's in pork?" He narrowed his eyes at the pig demon who stared at him in fear before he tightened his grip on his head. "For starters, I feel like some tonight."
