It was not easy. Yagura was like I remembered him to be: annoying to fight against and using Isobu, back inside of him, to his full potential, yet it seemed mechanical.

I dodged one of Utakata's bubble only to be punched in the stomach by Han. I was sent in the trunk of a tree and saw Roshi coming my way, but he went in the water that was still in the area to dodge Naru's rasengan. Him and B-san were in front of me quickly.

"We hid for a few seconds, and they all targeted you, sorry," my cousin said quickly, and I waved him off. I stood up, my back hurting.

"That's not good," I told them, noticing Han having his hands clasped together.

"Futton: Vapor of the Sea Jutsu." I made a shadow clone immediately who countered the coming boiling vapor with a Hyouton.

"I trained with the Fifth Mizukage, she uses Futton and Yoton," I told the guys when they shot me a quick look. "That being said, he's an undead jinchuriki, I'll run out before he does."

"Can't you do the same thing as earlier?"

"With this many jinchuriki around? No. I need to focus Naruto."

"How about those black things?"

"What black things?" I asked the rapper.

"They have the same black sticks in them Pain had. Nagato used them as chakra receivers to control the six Pains."

"So get them out, set them free?" I asked him.

"The bijuus aren't brought back to life, and if he's using the Rinnegan to control them, then it means Obito doesn't control them like he did with Kurama, right?" I nodded, looking at my cousin.

"Yeah, I think so. Good thinking here."

"The trees are annoying though." I looked at B-san. I had destroyed a lot of them already with my Suiton, only the base remaining. "Come!" He grabbed Naru and I in a tentacle and his skin started to peel.

He turned into Gyuki and I took Naru's sleeve to keep me standing as he surrounded himself and us with his tentacles. Then, he started to spin.

Fast.

Very, very fast. I heard a "Eight-Tailed Beast Twister" before we stopped spinning. When the dust fell, I blinked at the area B-san cleared. It was big. He attempted to seal the jinchurikis, but they went in Version Two immediately.

It was a failure. They came at us. I left Gyuki's head as Yugito was insistent, leaving marker beneath my feet as I moved back. I had forgotten Obito though as he had stayed behind since the beginning.

My surroundings changed quickly to be replaced by purple prisms of various sizes.

"Come on, rookie mistake Uzumaki," I muttered under my breath.

"We agree on that." I froze and turned around, my club in my hands. "Stay out of it."

"Do you really think that…"

"If Madara sees you, he'll kill you," Obito interrupted me. "I need you to finish the job."

"What job?" He left. "Obito you asshole!"

I tried to use the Hiraishin, only to find the marker Kakashi sent here ages ago. I cursed under my breath. Until Kakashi or Obito uses Kamui, I was stuck here.

I took a deep breath and started to explore the area, leaving markers here and there in case I'd end up fighting here.

I kept trying to find a way out though.

"How are you feeling?" Shisui asked Sasuke as they were following Karin.

"I want to deal with Kabuto as quickly as possible and join the others."

"I understand, but don't get too hasty in there, okay? Remind me what Akane said."

"It was my other self and Itachi, brought back with the Edo Tensei. She didn't know all the details, but Itachi used Izanami and the fact he was brought back a lot to trick him." Sasuke shot him a glance. "Are you going to use your Mangekyou?"

"Depending on what we have in front of us, yes." Shisui narrowed his eyes. "I don't want to use Izanami, but if I realize it might be better, I won't hesitate."

"Itachi didn't have your Mangekyou."

"I know, but Itachi's Itachi. There's no way his use of Izanami was just to make him stop the Edo Tensei."

"He's an enemy."

"Who was still alive and well from what Akane said. It's not easy, especially right now, but let's not judge too quickly." Shisui frowned when Karin sped up. "Let's not rest on our knowledge."

"Yeah, I know. Karin, what's going on?"

"Suigetsu is moving. There are other chakra with him."

"He was spotted, let's hurry!"

Indeed, when they found Suigetsu, he was getting annoyed at the reanimated shinobi who kept coming back each time he'd slash them down. Sasuke and Karin quickly sealed them, Suigetsu drinking his bottle in one go.

"What took you guys so long?"

"It's quite a journey to get here!" Karin retorted with an angry scowl. "You would have taken even more time!"

"Did you slow them down?"

"You bastard…"

"Enough," Sasuke interrupted them. Shisui shot him a quick look.

He knew his younger cousin rose through the ranks, but even in the previous war, he never really had the opportunity to see him acting as a leader.

He wasn't bad at it.

"Karin, Suigetsu, take cover in the area. Shisui and I are going in the deal with Kabuto. Once we're done, we might need healing. Rest for now." They both nodded.

"Five kilometers west, there's a cave. He's in there," Suigetsu informed them, nibbling on his straw. The two Uchihas left. "Do you think they'll win?" Suigetsu asked the Uzumaki, who was now sitting against a rock.

"I hope so. It's…a blood bath because of the Edo Tensei out there. Haku was exhausted."

"He's still standing then?" She nodded. "That's good."

The two Uchihas reached the cave quickly. Sasuke handed a scroll to Shisui, who accepted it.

"There are kunais in them with localization seals on them." Shisui nodded. It might come in handy. Then, the Uchihas looked at the wall.

"Look at that, a cute little defense!"

"Just destroy it," Sasuke droned at him.

"You're no fun," Shisui sighed, activating his Susanoo. The green skeleton destroyed the wall before being dispelled. "There you are."

"It is an honor to meet you, Shisui of the Body Flicker. They sent you because of your Mangekyou, didn't they?" Kabuto raised his head a little, the hood remaining on his head. He looked at Sasuke. "And you Sasuke-kun. It has been a while since we've last seen each other."

"Since I got rid of Orochimaru. What did you do?" Sasuke asked him, narrowing his eyes at the snake tail behind him.

"What can I say, students are inspired by their masters." He looked at them, his grin stuck to his face. "So, how are you planning to stop me?" They both activated their Sharingan. "I am honored."

In a flash, giant snakes were heading their way. Their Susanoos stopped them, and Sasuke sent several Amaterasu arrows at Kabuto, who dodged them. Shisui took this opportunity to body flicker behind him and tried to stab him while a mirage of himself remained with Sasuke.

His kunai barely made a scratch.

"I am afraid I am tougher than I look, Shisui-kun. See, I borrowed a skill from the Yuki clan when Orochimaru-sama was slayed."

"Akane would have known," Sasuke stated coldly as Shisui went back to his side.

"I didn't get enough from her, so I treated myself to someone close in Kiri's kekkai genkai archives."

"You used her brother's," Shisui accused him.

"Indeed." In the blink of an eye, Shisui sent the localization kunais Sasuke gave him earlier. Upon knocking into each other, they all went straight to Kabuto's vital spot. "What did I sa…" Sasuke was in front of him, his katana's blade burning with Amaterasu. Kabuto dodged it and hid behind a pillar.

If he had Akane's ability to freeze the inside of her body to reduce damage but through Fubuki's DNA…then a lot of strengths like Sakura and Tsunade was required, or Amaterasu.

"How rude of you Sasuke-kun, I was talking."

"I don't care." He set the coming snake on fire, but it was liquefied.

"I don't know if you're aware, but your friend, Suigetsu, spent some time in our care years ago. I had enough samples to find the secret of his Liquefying Technique." Shisui looked at the black flames licking the ground, then the chakra around. "We had plans to get Uzumaki Karin too, but she was whisked away right under our nose by Kiri. Now, what could I possibly have gotten from Juugo? See, in the shinobi world, those who have no talent are nothing. But those who lack it can just steal it from others."

"So what, a curse mark?" Sasuke wondered out loud.

"No, that is something I cultivated myself. At Ryuuchi Cave!"

"The snake cave?"

"Don't tell me it's senjutsu," Shisui muttered under his breath.

Sasuke's Susanoo sent another arrow, the snakes dodged it, an arm coming out of one's mouth. Kabuto appeared out of it, talking about Juugo's clan and how they used Natural Energy. However, it was not Shisui's main thought. Once Kabuto was out, he activated his Mangekyou. He tried to use Kotoamatsukami on his.

Nothing.

"Earlier, when I said I was honored to have you here, it wasn't exactly true. I was a spy for Sasori for a long time and then spied on the Akatsuki for Orochimaru-san. Guess who stole some fuinjutsu from a certain Uzumaki in it?"

"The seal Akane had on her eye…" Sasuke whispered.

"I've expanded it in case I were to face you. Mixed with Sage Mode…it seems to be very efficient now."

"Shisui…"

"It's not working," he confirmed, frustrated. "There's a first time for everything I guess."

"It doesn't change anything. You're like Orochimaru, a disgusting snake who takes people for ninjutsu mines!"

"No, I'm a far beyond what Orochimaru-sama was." He looked up at them. "I am not a snake; I am a dragon!"

It was not something Shisui ever thought he would hear, yet here he was.

"Now it's my turn." There was a black sphere in the air that started to shine. Shisui sent a kunai at it that Kabuto deviated. Then, they were blinded, and a high-pitched noise made it impossible for them to focus as their hands were on their ears.

Sasuke stopped his Susanoo, like Shisui, and put a seal on the ground, water covering it quickly. Shisui felt it as at the same time Sasuke used the Chidori in the water, spreading lightning on the whole ground, he used the Body Flicker Technique to move around the cave.

When the sphere disappeared, Kabuto was moving his leg, testing it.

"I guess teamwork is there after all, or is it family work? Do you guys even consider yourself Konoha shinobi after what your clan tried to do?"

"I gave it some thoughts." Akane looked at him, the shinobi kanji in her hitai-ate shining under the sun.

"And?"

"Kotoamatsukami is my first choice, but if it's not working for some reason, I'll go straight to Izanami." She looked down in thoughts. "I know what the price is, but time is not on our side in this war, is it?"

"Sadly, it's not." She stopped on a branch, like him. "Shi…"

"Look, stop the Edo Tensei with Sasuke, I know what my mission is Captain. I know the risks."

"Sorry to ask you to lead a group of the division with what's expecting you." He grinned at her, hoping to remove the concerned expression on her face.

"Now that's fine, it's what comes with skills and talents after all." She chuckled faintly. "You know about it."

"…Now I do." She slapped her cheeks and her fighting spirit seemed to be back. "I have complete trust and faith in both you and Sasuke to deal with the guy Shisui. Once against him, it's your call. Just, don't die."

"I wouldn't want to ruin your hard work Akane."

"No, I mean, don't die, because if you do, I will get your soul back and make you pay." He sweat-dropped at her showing him her left hand.

"Yeah…yeah I'll pass, I'll even take you out for expensive food if you want once it's all over as long as you keep this hand away from me." She puffed her cheeks.

"You can't even give friendly threats nowadays…"

"Since when have threats ever been friendly?"

Izanami it was then. The longer it took them to deal with Kabuto, the longer there were reanimated shinobi on the battlefield, the more people on their side would die.

Time was not on their side, but when was it ever?

Kabuto had a snake coming out of his stomach. His skin looked more like scales, and he had horns.

"Sasuke."

"Yeah?"

"Izanami it is." Sasuke raised a brow. He wanted to ask him if he really was sure but refrained himself from doing so. Shisui was the one losing an eye in this, he knew it and still decided to do it.

"What do you need me to do?"

"Fight him, don't die. I'll handle the jutsu preparations."

"Have you forgotten I was standing here?" Kabuto put his hands on the ground, their surroundings changing.

Shisui had the Eternal Mangekyou in only one eye. However, this eye was enough to twist their surroundings back to normal, at least enough for Sasuke and him to avoid being impaled by spikes.

"What is it?"

"Who would have thought Taiga's Mangekyou would be useful right now?" Sasuke muttered next to him. His Mangekyou was not that different, the tips of his assembled tomoes now touching either by a thin black line.

Kabuto started talking again, saying he was a crucial element in this war. It was true in a way, but the way he kept talking and talking about how he was nothing and started from nothing, how he surpassed Orochimaru…

He was going through a narcissistic crisis or desperately wanted to be acknowledged by people hailed as genius from a young age.

Maybe that was what pushed the old Itachi to use Izanami and set the conditions of his release. Itachi was the kind to philosophize and fight at the same time.

It was not somthing Shisui was a big fan of, and neither was Sasuke. None of them cared about Kabuto or why he did what he did, they were not here as therapists. They were here to stop him and make him stop the Edo Tensei.

Shisui and Sasuke shared a look. None of them wanted to hear Kabuto's monologue any longer.

They went back to attacking. Kabuto slipping through their fingers like a snake until a face was formed in the slashed snake of his stomach. He used someone else's skills, then changed.

Sasuke threw a kunai, that released another and another. They went straight to Kabuto in a storm of lightnings. When the dust settled, showing the damage done to the cave by Sasuke, Kabuto was showed in a liquefied state and crawling between the blades. Shisui was quickly in front of him, ready to use a Lightning Jutsu as well with the water still on the ground. Kabuto recomposed himself though and tried to punch him with a solidified fist.

He dislocated his right shoulder, but it was one moment done for Izanami. He jumped back and used the Giant Fireball Jutsu. Kabuto used the Big Waterfall Technique. Sasuke amplified the fire with a seal containing wind.

Second moment done.

A flute was heard. His body stopped responding to him, much like Sasuke's. There was a girl with Kabuto now.

"These damned Sound Four…" Sasuke managed to say.

They looked in each other's Sharingan, used a genjutsu one each other to be released.

Now was Orochimaru.

"Now, I'll use Orochimaru-same to absorb you two! Sasuke-kun, doesn't it bring you back!?"

"Back to when I killed him? Not really. At least, Orochimaru was using his own skills, you're just an impostor." Shisui moved around, leaving Sasuke talk. "Are you that weak that you must rely on other's talents to feel seen? That's pathetic."

Shisui almost sighed. Sasuke was harsh with his words, as always.

"You have an ideal that is praiseworthy only to you, it's worth nothing to those around you. You filled your head with lies." Sasuke's Susanoo caught the Orochimaru replica and slashed its head while Shisui successfully touched Kabuto with a Fire Jutsu.

Kabuto fell to the ground.

However, he was fine and got a hold of Sasuke's sword, that was laying around and attempted to stab Shisui, only to be surrounded by mirages of him. Sasuke appeared above them and cast a Fire Jutsu. Kabuto dodged and had his tail cut off by Shisui.

Third moment, done.

He turned around and stabbed the Uchiha in his side. Shisui bit his teeth and put his hand on Kabuto's head, activating Izanami. The sight in his regular Mangekyou faded to black in a couple of seconds.

"Okay, now as for the seals to stop the Edo Tensei…"

It was dead quiet once Kabuto made them, remaining in the last seal. Shisui stepped back, a hand on his wound.

"It's…over you think?" Sasuke asked him, unsure of what was happening.

"I'm sure of what I did, now as to…if it's working…" His free arm was on Sasuke's shoulders. "…thanks."

"I'm going to take you to Karin."

"Wait." Sasuke raised a brow and followed his look.

Mitarashi Anko was lying there, unconscious.

Sasuke summoned Garuda and put him on it, before grabbing Anko. They reunited with Karin and Suigetsu quickly.

"Your eye's white," Suigetsu noted.

"I am half blind now, what can I say," Shisui replied, Sasuke helping him down his summon. Karin quickly looked over his wound.

"I'm going to heal you enough to stop the bleeding and then it's best if you go to the Medical Camp." Shisui opened his mouth. "And shouldn't be tired too? Whatever you did to your eye, if it required your eye it had to be big."

"I don't have a choice, do I?"

"Garuda, can you take everyone?" Sasuke asked his summon, his hand under his beak. The eagle nodded.

They were greeted by Sakura when they reached the Medical Corps.

"Sasuke-kun?" He nodded and pointed his thumb at Shisui. Sakura opened her mouth, but seeing the blood and blind eye, she started working immediately. "Was it you?"

"What?"

"The Edo Tensei, it's stopping everywhere." Shisui sighed in relief.

"It worked then, good to know."

"Are you sure?" Both Uchihas, Suigetsu, Karin and Sakura turned to Ushio, who was feigning nonchalance.

"Why are you here?" Suigetsu asked him with a frown. Ushio shot him a quick look.

"There can never be too many people with medical knowledge around here. Sasori hates it."

"What do you mean?" Sasuke asked him curtly.

"The Edo Tensei was invented by Senju Tobirama from what he had witnessed Uzumaki Umiko do with the Shinigami Claw. If powerful souls and chakra can take over the Yuurei's body and escape their control, don't you think the same could happen with the Edo Tensei?" The oldest crossed his arms. "Your great-grandfather is not no one."

"How would you know that?"

"My mom and grandfather met him a few times back in the day." His eyes lingered on Suigetsu and Karin for a second. "Hum." He turned around and left.

"He's a complex man this Ushio," Shisui commented before passing out.

"Is he okay?"

"Yes, tired, lost blood, but he's okay."

"He won't need that," I said casually, blowing up a big shuriken.

I couldn't get out but found stashes of weapons hidden everywhere. I was destroying them until I felt something, an opening, Obito coming back, anything.

"What do you think he meant by 'finishing the job'?"

"Who knows, him knowing about you doesn't seem to have changed him or his goal," Tobirama replied in my mind. "But he doesn't want you to interfere."

"That much was obvious Tobirama." I pursed my lips. "Should I try to seal Madara if I can, take his soul?"

"No. If we awakened here and can take control, then ultimately you will be his meat suit." I bit the inside of my cheek. Tobirama was right, but at least…

Well, "dealt with" was not entirely right, it would be temporary.

I blinked and jumped on my feet when I felt an opening. It was strange, I was sensing chakra then nothing like you'd see someone through a door before it was closed. Multi-dimensional sensing was not for me.

I ran to it. It was always the same spot, so my guess was, while Obito had a big space, he could phase through things outside in only one spot here. Right now, there was his left leg here. I took a kunai and dig it in his thigh. It made him bend his knee and I grabbed his left arm when he completely materialized in front of me. He stopped my leg with his right arm and tried to kick me in the sternum. I used my right hand to take the blow and stop it, gritting my teeth at his strength. Then I slid my hand on his leg and lifted myself in the air, above him and fell on his shoulders, wrapping my legs tightly around him. With a grunt, I made us fall to the side. I winced at the impact and kept my legs around his torso and legs, my arms against his throat.

I threw his mask off the moment I could as he was trying to remove my arms with the only arm he could move.

"You leave this place with your sharingan, you're taking me with you!" I growled, pressing hard on his throat. He was moving his legs around.

"Aka…ne…let go!" he managed to say with a muffle voice.

"You let me go Obito, you moth…" A black rod came out of his left hand. With a groan, he stabbed his left shoulder, stabbing me in the stomach. I released him a little.

"You're an Uzumaki…you won't die from a stabbed kidney!" Kamui appeared again. However, I grabbed his left hand and was taken as well.

As we were leaving the Kamui dimension, I put Dad's seal on his hand, trapping him outside of Kamui. However, the moment Obito saw me, he kicked me away. Naruto caught me before I crashed in a rock.

"Thanks…"

"You're hurt!" I furrowed my brows at him.

"You got an upgrade? Kurama's working with you willingly?" He nodded and I sighed in relief. "Finally, I waited like ten years to get back to this!" Naru rolled his eyes and took me back to Kakashi, Gai-san and B-san. "Wait, when did you guys get here?"

"Before the Edo Tensei was broken." Oh, then Sasuke and Shisui did it. Good. "Can you heal yourself?" I nodded and made the tiger seal, releasing the healing seal I had on my stomach. One of them.

I had one on each of my vital organs and arteries. They were…levels below Tsunade-san's and Sakura's, thousands below Hashirama. They had indications in them, mixed with the Uzumaki clan's vitality and I had to release them myself except for the heart or brain.

Dai, Karin and I had a lot of "fun" doing that, trying to not kill each other.

"Edo Tensei gone, that big statue wasn't here before…what else?"

"It's pretty much all," Naru confirmed as he helped me up.

"You guys…knew it was Obito all along?" Gai-san asked us, recovering from his shock.

"For a while now. Sorry I didn't tell you Gai."

"Then the guy who almost killed Sasuke and you, who abducted Akane…it was him?" Kakashi nodded, his eyes cast downward, and I walked to his other side.

I put a heavy hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me and I nodded. He nodded back after a couple of seconds, and I removed my hand.

"It's the first time I see his face…" Naruto whispered. "Hey you, why are you doing all of this!?" Obito looked at my cousin. "You were my dad's student, why are you…why have you been doing all of these awful things!?"

"The reason is irrelevant, Naruto. However, if you really want an answer…" He looked at Kakashi and I felt him tensing next to me. "It would be because the man you call 'sensei' is nothing but a fraud, like his own sensei before him was. They were called geniuses but always failed when it mattered the most." Kakashi clenched his fists by his side.

I knew Oji-chan was listening, yet it was dead silent inside.

"I don't resent you though, this world that hurt all of us will soon end and this pain will be nothing more but a distant memory."

"Hey, I don't care what your past is with Kakashi-sensei or my dad, but don't badmouth them in front of me," Naruto told him in a threatening tone, a frown on his face.

"I am merely stating facts. Katon: Bomb Blast Dance!" Fire came at us in a swirl. Naru destroyed it with Kurama's chakra.

A second later, something crashed next to Obito. When the dust settled, a shiver ran down my spine when I saw the Edo Tensei eyes when it was supposed to have been stopped. Obito kept a blank face.

And he used to be so expressive.

"You seem to be having fun here, Obito," Madara told him.

"Now it's bad." I agreed with Tobirama.

"Now, why haven't you killed the Yuurei yet? Zetsu must have told you their sole reason to be is to annoy our clan," he continued, narrowing his eyes at me. I gulped. He knew then. It was not surprising.

"The jinchurikis are way more important than this," Obito retorted without shooting Madara a glance.

So he did want me to do something and Madara was not…was he betraying him or something?

"Your generation truly don't know the danger they are."

"Hey you!" Naruto yelled. "What happened to the others!?"

"Hum?"

"What happened to the Kages!?"

"Oh, them. I'm afraid they're not feeling very well…or alive." My blood froze in my veins.

Sensei…Tsunade-san…and fuck, Gaara was eighteen!

I buried the anguish and anger deep down and my glare met Madara's eyes. He raised a brow.

"It's not a Konoha outfit." Obito cut off his left hand, removing my seal. A white Zetsu appeared out of nowhere behind him and he cut off his left hand, putting it on his limb instead.

White Zetsu nons…

"Right here." I blinked at the blue Susanoo fist coming my way. I quickly summoned the Claw and destroyed it. "The Claw too then."

"Madara, what are yo…"

"I am going to deal with this one first as you obviously can't do it."

"Guys, I think I'm gonna…take him somewhere else," I told them, stepping on the side.

"Akane, it's suicide!" I looked at Kakashi. I wasn't alone. And it didn't seem like I had another choice either.

"Wanna add another Yuurei to the list Madara!? It doesn't look like you were very successful last time!" He narrowed his eyes.

"Alright then." I took off, Madara following me. Apparently, wanting to kill me was more important than getting Naru and B-san.

It wasn't reassuring though.
