Gamakichi was on one of the wooden gates Hashirama used to stop the Juubi. There were…scales falling around Obito. He was now shirtless, his hair white and his skin…it was not human-like, but like a grayish green maybe? His right side had was covered in scales and spikes were popping from his back.

"How can you guys tell he's a jinchuriki?"

"I became friends with all the tailed beasts, they gave me some of their chakra. It's obvious to me. I felt it being absorbed in Obito." Juubi disappeared and Obito changed too, but I guess the obvious wasn't obvious.

Other gates fell on Obito.

"Awe…"

"No," I interrupted my cousin, my eyes staring at where Obito was. "It's going to break." And it did. I squinted, red flames now on the spikes in Obito's back. It flew off in the shape of hands and grabbed the barrier around us, tearing it down. "Well, that's just great. OBITO, YOU REMEMBER ME!?"

"Why wouldn't he?" Sasuke asked me stiffly.

"It's Juubi, if the human mind is not strong enough or with a strong enough will, the pressure of all of this chakra will make it crumble. The body might reject it as well. For all we know, Obito just killed himself by doing this and now there's a mindless jinchuriki out for our lives right now!"

"It seems like it!" Oji-chan agreed and the four Hokages appeared on the gate right below us, in front of Obito.

"I'll be honest. This guy is stronger than me right now!" Hashirama stated firmly.

I jumped down to their level. Quietly, I walked in-between to stop in front of them.

"Akane, what are you playing at!?" Tobirama barked at me. Old Naruto told me it was so hard to fight against Obito once he was a jinchuriki, but didn't want to bother me with the details but…

The Juubi was the God Tree and Kaguya combined. Here, it was the jinchuriki, but it was the same. The source of its power was the God Tree, creator of chakra. It was logical that using chakra against it would be useless.

I activated the Claw and stopped Obito in his movement.

"Sasuke, remember that mission where we face Taiga, it's the same thing than for the tree!" I yelled at him. "Chakra is useless, we need taijutsu or senjutsu!"

"Got it!" Hashirama said, immediately going into Sage Mode. Obito leaped away from us and took off. The black ball above his hand went through it and he sent it at us in the shape of a spike.

I summoned my nodachi, went into Sage Mode and blocked it. I gritted my teeth at how heavy and strong this black matter was and pushed it back toward Obito.

"While senjutsu is the only way to cause him harm, we can still make him use his abilities to know more about it," Tobirama stated, now next to me.

"Just be careful of your bodies, you're not Edo Tensei reanimations."

Madara decided to join in to block Hashirama. The black matter though…it was something from the Otsutsuki clan if I remembered well. It was the problematic thing. If I could seal Obito's chakra with senjutsu, maybe…well, I couldn't put any seal on him with my chakra anyway, he'd just absorb it.

Tobirama and Hiruzen started to attack him. Obito's black matter destroyed the big shurikens easily and I sent a wave of senjutsu chakra to slash the attack about to touch the Third.

"He can use it to protect himself just like for attacking," Sandaime said once I teleported him back to us. I looked at my left hand.

Juubi…it would be too risky I guess…just extracting Black Zetsu from Obito would be good but…

"I'll create an opening!" Oji-chan said.

"Naru, get a clone to get in Sage Mode ASAP!" I had no idea if he could do Sage Mode with Kurama yet…

Obito turned to us and before he could reach us, he glew and fell, his body now in the shape of a big ball of flesh.

"Is his body rejecting Juubi's chakra?" I wondered out loud.

"That, or the synchronization is not over yet. Akane, with me." Tobirama put a marker on my top, on my shoulder. "You can teleport me like you did the Third, right?" We started to run at him.

"Yes. So what, you get me an opening or something?"

"Or something," he confirmed firmly.

"Gamakichi, watch out!" I looked back at Naru and Sasuke as Obito's upper body came out of the ground, the giant toad thrown back. Naruto jumped off him and Sasuke's Susanoo stopped Obito's attack toward Naruto.

However, while his bottom half tried to kick us, he grabbed Naru and Sasuke by the face. I bit the inside of my cheek and teleported to Sasuke, put my foot on Naru's head and teleported back to oji-chan.

Obito…no longer looked human. To be honest…it was just plain sad.

"He's like a snake," Sasuke noted, staring at the other Uchiha. The part of Obito's body that looked like scale started to grow, and grow, almost like a tumor would. It was horrifying to watch.

"What is that?" Naru asked, half horrified, half disgusted.

"We can't focus on that for now, we need to take him down while he can't use his body." I looked at my godfather.

"How do you know it won't make things worse, like a big explosion or something?" He looked at me.

"I don't, but I know we can't let him take control of the Juubi either."

"Seal him!" Tobirama appeared with Hiruzen and looked at me. "Umiko's seal, it allows you to use senjtusu with fuinjutsu." I widened my eyes.

"Right!" I could seal his chakra and then we'd deal with him!

Tobirama teleported us to a marker he left near Obito and I put my hand on his foot. The seal spread to his whole body, but before I could finish it, a black ball was millimeters from my face.

"Huh?" It started to shine and Tobirama's hand was on my shoulder as he pulled me behind him.

He teleported us away, apparently far from the battle as I couldn't see Obito, just sense him.

"We were close," Tobirama said through clenched teeth.

"Your arm…" He looked down at his left arm. It was ripped off below the shoulder.

"I'm already dead anyway." I nodded firmly. Right, right he was. "It seems his control over these balls is better than we thought, and quicker too." I pursed my lips. "However, he has not used his Mangekyou Sharingan." I blinked at Tobirama.

"True, he has not used Kamui…do you think now he's the jinchuriki of Juubi, he can't use it anymore?"

"Maybe. I think the Negative Mode might be useful."

"His body is no longer human, there's no moisture in it. The best I can do is maybe get close to him, but not him directly, and that is if he doesn't have anything up in his sleeve that could make him change the climate around him." He nodded.

There was a light in the distance. Tobirama teleported us back to the guys, Obito now where we were.

"When did you leave a marker on him?" I asked him, baffled.

"Seconds before I lost my arm," he replied. Oji-chan had also lost an arm now.

"Hey, you can use Dad's move so well!"

"I invented it," the Nidaime pointed out. Naru shot me a look and I nodded. "Like the Shadow Clone Jutsu and many things you still use today."

"Yeah, we get it, thanks Tobirama," I droned at him. I looked back when there was a powerful flare of chakra in the air.

Madara's Susanoo and Hashirama's…Mokuton were toe-to-toe. The Susanoo…was it bigger than Itachi's earlier or did Madara just not come at us at full-strength?

It didn't matter anyway. Obito now had a black staff, and his appearance changed a little, so he was in control.

"We know senjutsu is what works against him. Gamakichi-san, use as many long-distance jutsu you have before you leave! I'll use the Rasen-Flash Su…"

"Oh my God, shut up Oji-chan, your names are not appropriate for serious battles!" I interrupted him with wide eyes. Sasuke sighed in agreement and Tobirama nodded. Naru wanted to be on his dad's side, but one look from me made him quiet.

Obito started to float.

"Syrup Gun!" Gamakichi started to spit numerous techniques at Obito, who had no choice than to stop them or dodge.

"Akane, let's try what we talked about earlier," Tobirama said. "The Fourth, Saru and I we will be a diversion." I nodded.

"And us?" Naru asked. I took my nodachi and slid a foot back.

"You boys try not to get hypothermia." Still in Sage Mode, I dived deep into Negative Mode, frost appearing immediately on the humid ground.

I was vaguely aware of Sasuke making a shadow clone and sending it on Garuda away.

The Kages were excellent, but Obito was in a league of his own right now. None of their jutsu worked, but it was a diversion. Obito threw one of these black balls at me, but I teleported in in the rocks nearby. He groaned the moment he realized ice was growing on his legs. I started to make platforms for the Kages to follow him. I teleported behind him and tried to slash him, but he dodged. We kept this dynamic until I used chakra in my feet to stick to a rock. I went through hand signs quickly.

"Hyouton: Explosive Snow!" The Kages left the area and Obito was in my technique.

Everything blew up. When the smoke vanished, the black matter Obito used to protect himself was crumbling, but he was nowhere to be found. In the blink of an eye, he was in front of me. I teleported away before he could kill me. I shot my blade a look and made a storage seal on it with senjutsu before sending the Amateraru from my hand to my sword.

I focused and slashed in thin air, releasing it. There was nothing for a few seconds, Obito wary of me and suddenly, the flames of Amaterasu now on him.

He yelled as the arm holding the staff was on fire. However, the black flames now had a deep, purple heart, the same color of the Shinigami Claw.

He managed to cut off his burning limb, only for Naruto to appear behind him with one of oji-chan's marker, in Sage Mode and with a Rasengan.

He dived it in Obito's back, sending him crashing in the ground.

I stopped my Negative Mode, struggling to feel my fingers and toes. I could see Obito, red flames on the wound on his back and what remained of his arm.

He said something, but I was too focused on the roots about to come out of the ground.

Wait, roots?

"FUCK!" I yelled, running straight toward Obito. I activated the Claw once more as that goddamn tree came out of the ground. It was not evolved yet, but there were several flowers on it already. I listened Obito's speech with one ear as wind started to grow due to the Tailed-Bombs getting bigger and bigger.

I dived the Claw in the tree, but it pushed me away. Back then…the tree was dead, and old…now it was young and just born…it was way stronger.

Shit!

"He's a failure." I looked up at Obito. "He couldn't save his wife and child. He couldn't save his family. He couldn't save his subordinates. Do you know what day it is today, Naruto? The anniversary of your parents' death!"

"Then there is no way I'm losing a war on my eighteenth birthday then!"

Obito made a barrier around the alliance so that they could not escape the blast. I ran back to the tree and put my right hand on it, trying to feel something, anything. Except for an enormous amount of chakra…there was…

"And now…" Suddenly, Obito was lifting me from the ground. I heard Naruto yelling as the bijuu bombs were about to be fired. "You're not fast enough Akane. You have to be faster." I shot Oji-chan a look.

Despite the distance, I mouthed at him to go.

They did, and everything blew up.

"We're…out?" Sasuke muttered to himself, flexing his fingers. Naruto looked around in panic.

"No no no, where's Akane!? She…She…"

"Calm down Naruto," his father told him.

"Calm down!? Have you seen the blast!?"

"Yes, but I am still here, like the Nidaime and Sandaime." Naruto blinked at him. "As long as Akane's alive, we can be here. If she had died, we would be gone too."

"And you're sure of that?" They looked back. Itachi was behind Juugo, who was the person Sasuke's clone had picked up.

"A hundred percent, her soul is what links us here." Itachi nodded and briefly looked at the Sandaime, then the Nidaime.

In front of them, the black shell around Obito disappeared. There was no sign of Akane though.

"Only senjutsu can harm Obito," Sasuke told his brother.

"So only Naruto can harm him right now?" Sasuke nodded stiffly.

They watched as Minato and Naruto, in Kurama's form, made a huge rasengan, then a bijuu bomb. Itachi shot his brother a quick glance. Even with the dire situation they were in, he seemed frustrated with Naruto's skills now.

It really was not the time for their rivalry though.

Obito released Juubi suddenly, which dug itself in the ground. Then, the blossom on its back opened and a tree trunk grew from it. Humongous roots quickly appeared and dug themselves everywhere. However, it was the tree from where a chakra fruit grew from what Akane said.

So, it needed food.

Itachi dodged a root, and another, and another. It lasted for seconds that seemed like hours. When the Sandaime, Nidaime and Yondaime were back with them, having just saved Naruto from a certain death, the siblings looked around.

They had lost a big number of shinobi.

Obito started speaking again.

"We can't get closer. Whatever Obito did, that tree, I don't think he did it at the right time," Itachi suddenly spoke up.

"What do you mean?" the Sandaime asked him.

"Juubi is the result of all nine bijuus, and then the tree appears. If the roots lashed out, it must be because there are two big sources of chakra missing and it's trying to find them to be complete," the Uchiha explained smoothly.

"It went for any chakra-emitting thing nearby then," Tobirama finished.

"Precisely." They looked on their right.

"Ushio?" Minato called him, surprised. He raised a hand, Karin and Suigetsu with him.

"What, I'm not here and you lose an arm? Loser." Ushio looked around. "Where's my daughter? She's not dead, you wouldn't be here otherwise."

"The last time we saw her, she was with Obito and then there was a big explosion," Naruto told him weakly. Ushio looked up.

"Heh…she must have found a way to go to the Kamui dimension somehow then." He pointed at the Nidaime. "Your grandniece is safe, was split in half when we found her but good now."

"Split in half?" Tobirama repeated, horror obvious in his voice.

"Tsuna's tough, Senju and Uzumaki blood, she could still start the healing process on the other Kages when we got there. They're on their way." He looked at Karin. "Hey, go see if there's anything you can do regarding those still alive but barely."

"Don't boss me around!"

"He's not wrong though…with your chakra reserves, you can do a lot of medical ninjutsu," Suigetsu pointed out.

"You…"

"Karin, Suigetsu." They both looked at Sasuke. "Shut up." They did.

Once what the Shodai had heard from Madara relayed, Naruto's thoughts were relayed as well in those still having Kurama's chakra around them. His childhood, his adoption, being alone with his aunt once Akane left, Sasuke leaving after their fight in the Valley of the End, Yagura's body being brought back with the Mizukage hat on him, to the previous war and Jiraya's death, to seeing him and Nagato earlier and then Fugaku's death, everything that pushed his resolve to grow bigger was showed to everyone.

Itachi was not surprised when Sasuke's Susanoo cut off a root and then used Juugo's ability to have senjutsu, giving Naruto a boost. His brother had implied he could do that once.

Then they saw the first ever Five Kage Meeting from Hashirama's memories.

They really couldn't lose.

"Let go, let go!" I let him go.

"But I thought you might have bitten the dust Kakashi!" He rolled his eyes. "Okay, not really, but you were nowhere to be found!"

"How is it on the outside?"

"Meh, Obito absorbed Juubi and became its jinchuriki." He widened his eyes. "The Hokages are here, and when I left, he was about to send Juubi's bijuu bomb from the small tree he grew."

"That's bad," he grunted, finishing his stitching job on his chest. I used my last chakra seals and looked in my back pouch.

I still had medical seals, but less and less adapted to our current situation.

"Here, it should make sure it won't bleed it out if you pop your stitches," I stated, putting the seal on his chest. It was used in a matter of seconds.

"How did you get here?"

"Huh? I'm not sure myself. Dad taught me a seal to trap Obito in one dimension, so I figured I could reverse it and force a door open if I had access to his Mangekyou so I could use the Hiraishin. I never thought I'd use my knowledge of doujutsu like that, but here we are."

"You know what, maybe I'll praise you for that once it's over." I looked down. "What is it?"

"Just before I got here, Obito was saying I had to be faster, again. I don't know what he's talking about." Kakashi stared harshly at me, then my left hand.

"When you were here before, what did he tell you?"

"That I shouldn't intervene yet or something."

"And now that you're not fast enough…now that he's a jinchuriki…" He widened his eyes. "Juubi, it's just a huge amount of chakra, right? It has no soul."

"Not that I know," I replied, confused. He grabbed my left wrist.

"Then maybe that's what he's saying. Now he's the jinchuriki, maybe he wants you to use the Claw. Maybe what he saw when you were abducted did something after all."

"Why not just tell me then?"

"Because Madara is around and was after you. If he showed he wanted you to use the Claw on him to get rid of Juubi for good, he would intervene."

"…it's farfetched Kakashi, even for me."

"I don't see what he could mean apart from that."

"I doubt I could handle so much chakra anyway, and it would kill the bijuus in Juubi already, it's…"

"I don't think it's something Obito cares about. If it's destroyed, then Madara's plan is as well." I ruffled my hair as he stood up, using his grip on my wrist for support. "We're getting closer and closer to the original events though; I doubt we still have time to think about what he means." He put his hand on his sharingan. "Strange…"

"What?"

"I see…Naruto and Sasuke…"

"Huh? You see what Obito's seeing?"

"I think so…"

"Whenever you're ready!" Nothing happened for a few seconds. "Whenev…" He put his hand on my mouth.

"Stop it." A couple of minutes went by and his Mangekyou was ready. We left the Kamui dimension and Kakashi landed on Obito, with me on my knees next to him. Kakashi had a hand on Obito's chest, the other with a kunai ready to…

Wait, he was back to normal. He no longer had Juu…

Before he could stab Obito, Oji-chan stopped him. I looked behind me when I heard voices. The bijuus were there, Sasuke and Naruto too, and some of the army too. I spotted Haku on top of Isobu and Fuu with Chomei. Gaara was next to Shukaku.

They were all staring. It was Tsunade-san who stopped them from running to us.

"Obito," Oji-chan started. "I got to see your heart when the bijuus were extracted from you. My son seems to be like his mother and nagged you quite a lot. However, it also falls on you, Kakashi." He looked down at his other student. "You were his teammate, if anyone can understand him, then it is you, as his friend." He looked up at Naruto. "Isn't that right, Naruto?" He shot Sasuke a glance, who glanced back.

"It was years ago," I heard Sasuke say.

"Naruto, you and Sasuke should head to the Shodai and Itachi-kun to help them seal Madara." Itachi was back against Madara? "Akane, you stay here." He looked back at his students. "Rin was the medic of the team, the last thing she would have wanted was to see you two kill each other."

I listened to them quietly. Kakashi said his part and stood up, saying he had faith in Naruto.

"How…is he different than me?"

"He may very well fail too, but I'm not going to give up on him," Kakashi replied as something shone on top of the new, bigger tree there was.

"So, we're not killing him I guess," I stated flatly.

"Akane…" Oji-chan started only to be cut off by my glare.

"I dare you to say just one thing, one Minato," I sneered at him.

"I thought…you'd put an end to it," Obito said, looking at me. I avoided returning his glance. "Once Juubi inside of me…I thought you'd use the Claw on me…or on the tree but…"

"And how was I supposed to figure that out?" I asked bitterly. "I am what you made me into Obito, if you're not explicit with what you want me to do, I won't know!"

"Right…I am sorry…for everything…" I stood up.

"Whatever." I walked away to Isobu. "Hey."

"Red-chan!" I smiled faintly and put my hand on his jaw.

"Sorry it took so long."

"It's okay, Haku told me." Haku jumped down next to me. "He helped free me!"

"You did?" He nodded.

"Fuu, Gaara and I, we're old jinchurikis, their chakra left an imprint on our chakra so I used that to help Naruto-kun pull them out." I put my hand in his hair with a weak smile.

"Good job. Good job on staying alive too." He smiled back faintly, a small blush on his cheeks.

"What's going to happen to him now?" I looked at Obito, like him, who seemed about to do something.

"I'm not getting off his case, trust me on th…" I widened my eyes when shivers crawled up my left arm.

That…that was the same thing than when Black Zetsu…

Shit, Black Zetsu! He must have been shadowing Obito all along and…

"Move him away!" I yelled.

"What?" Kakashi asked me.

"Get him…damn it!" I activated the Claw and was ready to get Black Zetsu, but my hand found only the ground.

Obito was standing, his hands in the snake mudra. Black Zetsu split on Obito's face, who gasped for air.

"That was close…" it said in its hoarse voice.

"Damn, you really can't wait to go back and hide in your mother's skirt you piece of shit!"

I had a pottier mouth than usual when my nerves were close to breaking, I knew that.

"You…" Black Zetsu was on half of Obito's body, and I readied myself to fight, but he was stopped.

"Obito?" Kakashi called him, uncertain.

"Akane…take him…before he gets Kaguya here!" I widened my eyes at Obito.

Itachi was exhausted, a hand on his bleeding and broken ribs. Naruto and Sai had come to the rescue, ready to seal Madara, trapped by the Shodai's jutsu. The Shodai was done for as well, the black rods in his body kept him from using chakra now.

However, Madara was too happy. Itachi squinted, realizing that he really was smoking. Smoke quickly engulfed the area. When it disappeared, Madara was there, now alive and breathing. The chakra in his eyes disappeared though.

Black flames were on his back.

"Not me," he told Naruto.

"Ancient relics should stay in the past!"

"A brat who doesn't even come close to my level…I should be the one saying that."

It was bad.

There was some speaking, then Naruto was sent in rocks. Sai too. Itachi barely had the time to get a rib of his Susanoo that Madara broke it.

"And for good measure," his ancestor said, stabbing his right leg with four black rods and two in the abdomen before kicking him away too.

The impact hurt, a lot. It was like all of his bones were broken, and it was not as if he could use the Susanoo to protect himself. He must have had lost consciousness for a few seconds too because now, Sasuke had his katana in Madara's arm.

"Your Mangekyou are Choku Tomoe, a straight pattern. It's different from the other one which will naturally turn to genjutsu. But you…no wonder your moves are so sharp. Taking your eyes might be a good idea until I get my rinnegan back." That was not going to happen. He tried to get up but fell on all four right away.

If he tried to remove a rod, then he'd bleed out, and it was not as if he could walk on his leg anymore. Madara made sure to go in the bone.

His ancestor used a Fire Jutsu to hide in ash and left. Naruto and Sai left, and Sasuke ran to him, helping him sit.

"Hey, don't die now nii-san, I'm not facing Mother alone." Itachi grunted, blood spilling from his lips.

"I'm…good…"

"You look like a worst yet better version of me when I faced Haku for the first time," he said sarcastically. "It's…nii-san? Nii…" He blacked out.
