"I figured we will still be ahead from the Nazis but I guess they beat us to it!" Indy shouted as the Collecter flew the star towards Belos' Castle.
"Then we must hurry," the Collector said.
The Collector landed the star onto the bridge of the castle as everyone ran towards it. Luz lead the group towards the throne room, as they hid behind the wall. There they saw a few soldiers, with guns in their hands, and Belos standing in the middle of them. Some of the Cult Members were praying towards Belos as the Nazis watched unenthused.
"What's going on?" Eda asked.
"Apparently Belos' followers think that he is some kind of god," Indy said, "Though I don't think the Nazis have the same feeling about it."
"So those humans in those funky costumes are the followers?" Eda asked.
"Yeah and the other ones who are in those formal clothings are the goosestumping Nazis," Indy said.
"Indy, I have a very bad feeling about this," Willow said.
"Yeah, what are they planning right now?" Jack asked.
As Jack was whispering to Indy, Luz heard a click behind her as she turned and was staring right into a barrel of a pistol. She nudged Amity who nudged Indy, who looked and saw a guard pointing a gun at them. The guard forced the group out of hiding and right into the heart of the throne room.
"Ahh, Dr. Jones and his questionable friends. It is nice seeing that you are all alive, somehow," Belos said, with venom in his voice.
"Yeah, but I cannot say the same for you," Indy said, as he saw a piece of Belos' stomach was melting off.
"Very funny, Dr. Jones, but do tell me, do you know why I built my castle here, right in this very spot," Belos said.
"It is not for the nice view, is it?" Indy asked in a sarcastic manner.
"Very funny Dr. Jones, Heinz was right about this American humor you call it," Belos said, "But no, you see I built my castle on this very spot because this here is the heart of the Titan."
"Heart of the Titan?" Indy asked.
"So that is what you are planning," Hunter said, "For you to possess the heart of the Titan and use it to eliminate the magic of this world."
"Another magic genocide," Luz said, "That was your backup plan if the draining spell did not work."
"It is sad that you still think these creatures, no, monsters and abominations of God, are worth saving. You see their bizzare traditions, their unholiness, their barbarian way of thinking. We could of made their world like our world, a world of godly peace," Belos said, "Don't you want that Luz, Dr. Jones, Mr. Shannon, don't you want to see a land of holy and peace?"
"You are crazy into believing that we will agree with you. I don't know how long you were in our world, but as you see, your way of thinking tends to kill innocent people for no reason other than the God they worship," Jack said.
"Very well then. If you truly are against me, then I don't see any reason to keep any of you alive. You will cause more problems for us in the future. Guards, take care of our prisoners," Belos said.
The guards put their weapons into a firing postion, aiming towards the group. Indy, Jack, Eda, King, and Luz used their bodies as sheilds so that they can take it full force. As the guards were about to pull the triggers, the Collector ran out of the grip of Amity, who was holding him tightly, and in front of Belos.
"Belos, I know I have not been nice to you and I have a feeling you might still be mad with me. I am truly sorry for forcing you to be my friend and I do want to start our friendship again, even if it is slowly. I know you are not truly that evil. All you need is a hug and a friend. A true friend. So won't you be my friend," the Collector said, his innocents shining bright through the dimly lit throne room.
Belos looks unimpressed as one of the guards fired his gun at the Collector. The Collector jumped a bit at the loud noise, but he did not feel anything. He looked in front and saw Luz standing in front of him, using her body as a shield. The human girl felt her shirt wet and stained with blood, as she staggered back. Luz was trying to stand up, using all of her remaining strength, but it was to no use as she fell. Indy caught her with his arms, trying to help her.
Luz felt the pain surged through her body as she was crying in pain.
"Hey kid, it is going to be alright, just look at me," Indy said, grabbing a cloth from his jacket and wiping the blood off of the girl.
"It hurts, it hurts so much," Luz cried as she was coughing up blood.
"I know it hurts, but you have to hang on tight, ok. We will get you help," Indy said, holding onto Luz's hands tightly.
"I want my mommy. I…I never got to tell her how much I loved her. How much I miss her. I want to tell her sorry for not being the daughter she wanted me to be. I wanted to tell her that I have finally found my calling. I finally have friends and even a girlfriend. I want her to be proud of me," Luz said, as she was heaving in and out.
"You will kid, c'mon Luz, just look at me. Squeeze my hand and look at me!" Indy said, as he took out a cloth and applied it to her wound.
"Tell my mom that I love her. That I will miss her, but I will be in a better place. Tell her that Papa says hi," Luz continued.
Luz closed her eyes for the last time, as Indy felt her body go limp. The once cheerful and bright kid that Indy just met a few weeks ago was now lying in her own pool of blood. The Collector tried to get near Luz, using the magic he could to heal her, but it was to no use.
"I can fix her, just watch," the Collector said as his hand shined a yellow aurora.
It did not do anything as the body did not move or breathe. "I know I can fix this, just give me a moment," the Collector continued, although he tried a different method.
The results were the same as the Collector tried and tried and tried again. Each time the same results. Tears were flowing down the Collector's face as he jumped a bit. "What are these?" the Collector asked worriedly feeling his tears.
"I did not want any of this to happen. I did not want anything bad to happen," the Collector said.
The group circled around as Indy laid the dead, cold teenage body to the ground. Indy knew that there was no way to save the girl now. She sacrificed herself to save the Collector. He figured if the kid, no, Luz was dead, then her death should not be in vain. He looked around and saw Eda and King was turning feral with rage as the same with her friends eyes glowing a darker yellow color. They began attacking the Nazis in anger and fury.
"I did not want anyone to die, I am sorry, I am very sorry. I don't want anyone else to be gone," the Collector pleaded as he grabbed onto Eda's feathers, "Please you don't have to do this."
Indy grabbed a hold of the Collector as he, Jack, Boscha, and Tina ran towards cover. "Listen kid, this is not your fault. You did not know that this was going to happen. Luz saw the good in you, she saw that you are young and did not really grasp the idea of mortality. She knew you can be talk to," Indy said, trying to find the right words.
"But…why did Belos did that? I thought he wants friends," the Collector asked.
"Belos…is a different story. He only sees evil. He does not see the good in people like you and me. That goes for the same to the people who are working for him now. They see hate and bigotry, not peace," Indy explained.
"But she will come back right?" the Collector asked.
Indy had a knot in his stomach as the Collector asked the question. "She…is not coming back…there is nothing we could do. The only thing we can do is to finish the fight. We need to rescue the Boiling Isles." Indy said.
"I think I know how I might help," the Collector said, "But I will need some help with it."
"I will go," Jack said.
"Me too," Tina said.
"Same, it is the least I can do for that human," Boscha said.
"I think you should take the rest of Luz's friends, they won't last long here. I am going to try and at least help Eda and King," Indy said, as he took out his revoler and loaded the ammo.
"I agree," Jack said.
"Ok, just, we don't want anymore bodies tonight," Indy said, as he tilted his hat towards his head, "I will give you covering fire on my count. And go."
The group ran out to the fray as Indy fired his gun towards the Nazis. Boscha managed to calm Hunter and Willow down, with the latter calming Gus down. Amity did not want to leave Luz's body, as she feel like she might not be able to see it again. After letting Indy know, Indy allowed Amity to stay and fight. The Collector created a star and as the second team regroup, they headed towards the archives.
Indy fired his gun at Belos, as the bullets went through him. It did little to no damage as Belos slowly made his way towards the heart. Thinking on his feet, Indy looked around in the throne room and spotted a broken wooden beam. He ran towads the beam and picked it up. Indy then ran towards Amity.
"I need you to fly me close to Belos, we need to stop him before he reaches the heart," Indy said.
Amity just nodded as she conjured her palisman. Indy climbed onto the broom as the young witch flew the American towards the hideous creature. Indy jumped onto the ground, in front of Belos. His face was red and filled with fury and rage, as Indy held the beam over his head.
"You have murdered an innocent and good child, Belos. Tell me, how does God view this act?" Indy asked with venom in his voice.
He swung the beam directly to Belos' head, stunning him a bit. Belos then stood up and smiled as he pushed Dr. Jones against a wall. Indy struggled to stand up, as he use the beam as support. Looking at Belos, Indy smiled a bloody smile. He ran towards Belos, the beam over his head, and attempted to hit him again. The same thing happened although the beam was absorbed into Belos' body.
Indy looked at Belos as the monster pinned him against the wall. Indy watched and struggled as Belos made his way towards the heart of the titan. Before Belos attached himself to the heart, he turned to Indy and said, "It is a shame that none of you humans ever understood the good I am doing."
Indy watched, unmoved, as Belos jumped at the heart, attaching himself like a weed. His body morphed into the heart, with mosslike skin covering it. Eda and King got out of their feral state as they turned and saw in fear what was going on. Amity watched too, tears in her face. She looked towards Indy, who was trapped by some goop. The purple hair witch ran towards the archeologist, scraping the goop off of his body. Amity managed to free Indy, as he fell to the floor. Picking him up, Amity, Indy, Eda, and King watched in horror as they saw some of the mosslike fluids slowly, but painfully, taking control of the Nazis and Cult Members, covering and suffocating them. The Nazis and Cult Members were screaming in pain as they tried to get the moss off of them, but it was to no use.
"Get to higher ground!" Indy shouted towards Amity, Eda, and King.
As the Collector was landing the star on top of the archives, Jack and the witches jumped off, running towards the front doors. As the group arrived to the doors, they watched as a group of cult members were forcing a woman with green hair to bring the puppets to them. The cult members were laughing and pushing the woman around.
Jack took aim at his rifle, and fired upon one of the cult members. The rest of the cult members looked towards the source of the bullet and saw the American and the young witches. The cult members just smiled as they took out their guns and fired upon the group.
Jack, the Collector, Tina, and the rest of the witches took cover behind a door. "We need to find a way to get to those puppets," the Collector said.
Jack nodded as he fired his rifle towards the Cult Members. One of the cult members took the lady with the green hair hostage, as she screamed in fear. Jack aimed his rifle at the figure, but stopped as he saw the figure holding a gun against the woman's face.
"Let her go," Jack said.
"Not a chance Mr. Shannon, you and your friend, Dr. Jones, had gave us all a big headache," said the figure, "So I would advise you to drop your weapon before this bitch gets it."
"What are you waiting for? Take him out," the woman said.
Jack lowered his weapon, shocking the woman. "You know that Belos doesn't care for pestilence like you. He only works with you dogs to get what he wants," Jack said.
"It doesn't matter. Once he conquers this world, he will help to achieve world domination in the human realm," the figure said.
"You guys are all the same. Nazis, the Cult of Belos, Adrian and his druids, all of you guys want to conquer the world. But yet, it seems that history is always doomed to repeat himself," Jack explained, as he signals Willow.
Willow saw the signal and crawled behind the wall, closer to the rest of the cult members. With her eyes colored yellow, Willow manipulated the vines that surrounded the beautiful, yet mysterious fortress, wrapping around the cult members. The cult members jumped in surprised as the vines wrapped tightly around their bodies, entrapping them in it. The figure that was holding the green haired woman, pushed the hostage, firing his gun at the vines. Jack took advantage of this as he dives towards the rifle and fired onto the figure. The figure dropped motionlessly as he lay there in his blood.
"Took you long enough," the woman said, being ungrateful.
"A thank you will be nice," Jack remarked, then turned to the Collector, "Are these all the dolls you have?"
"No, there are still some more," the Collector said.
"Shit, okay, you, Gus, Hunter and that woman go and bring in the rest of the puppets. Tina, Willow, and I will try to do our best turning them back to normal," Jack said.
"I will not be taking orders from a disgusting human like you," the woman said.
"We have rescued you from those cult members. The least you can do is help out," Jack said.
"C'mon Mama Odaleia, please help us," the Collector said.
"Fine, but it's because I owe you," the woman called Odaleia said.
Everybody went their separate ways, doing their jobs. As the Collector and his group brought in more puppets, Jack and his group made more light glyphs. Each person they turned back to normal joined either group as the two groups work hard and fast.
As they were working, Jack felt the ground move a bit. He felt something was off as he ran to the window. Jack's eyes went to fear and panic as he turned and saw the witches' magic fading in and out.
"Collector, how much more puppets do we have left?" Jack asked.
"This is the last group," the Collector said.
"Um, Mr. Shannon," Willow said as some strange fungus-like thing crept up on her.
Jack ran towards the young plant witch, wiping the fungus off of her. He then looked around as the other witches were having the same issues. Jack was thinking on his feet, trying to figure out what was going on. He then came to a realization as he ran towards another witch, a younger girl, about Luz's age, with green hair. Jack wiped the fungus off of her.
"Everyone, stop casting magic. The fungus is attracted to the magic. We need to find some higher ground," Jack said.
Before anyone could move, the group felt the ground moving. Creaking was heard through the silent halls as the group watched with fear in their eyes. The group felt the ground moved as it began tilting downwards, causing our heroes to fall and slide down the floor. Jack managed to hold onto a vine, as he held onto Willow. Willow held onto Gus, who proceeded to do the same to Hunter.
"Hold on everyone!" Jack shouted, as the floor started to move downward.
The Collector, hanging on to a man with long hair and a hat-like creature, was having a hard time understanding what was going. How is this happening, why is it happening? The only thing he knew was that he had to save these people. He started to climb up, towards one of the windows of the Archives. Jack watched as the Collector was having a difficult time climbing, slowly getting weak. He was not the only one who was getting weak, as he felt Willow's losing her grip.
"I'm slipping, Mr. Shannon. Don't drop me, please don't drop me," Willow cried.
"I am not going to drop you, kid. Just hold on for a bit longer," Jack said.
The Collector managed to get on top of the window, as ropes appeared from his hands wrapping around the pillar. Floating in the air, the Collector was using all of his strength to pull the Archives right side up. The floor started to be more level, as Jack and the inhabitants of the Boiling Isles stood up.
Jack look towards the Collector and saw how much he was struggling to keep the Archives straight. "Pick up the people we have missed, we need to get the hell out of here!" he ordered as he picked up two of the puppets.
Everyone did as they were told, grabbing their friends, families, neighbors, everyone. They follow Jack out of the Archives and down the stairs, running as fast as they could, avoiding the fungus. Once everyone left, the Collector, exhausted, dropped the ropes and collapsed on the ground. Hunter saw this as he flew up to save the being. The Archives collapsed on the ground, creating a cloud of smoke and debris.
Once they were out of range of the building, everyone turned around and stared in horror at the ruins of the Archives.
