Blake woke up in the room she had been staying in for the past year, minus a couple of months. Walking over to Yang, she shook the other girl, "Time to get up."

"Mrg," Yang sat up, hair sticking out at every angle, she stood up, staggering into the bathroom and started the shower without a word. Which tracked, Yang took the longest to fully wake up of the three girls staying at the Xiao-Long-Rose house.

Stepping out and walking down stairs, she found one of "Patch's Aliens" meditating. Citrine looked like someone had carved everything from her face to her groin off, leaving behind orange stone that sparkled like a geode. It was, uh, pretty creepy, the first time you saw it.

"Ruby?" Blake said, "time to get up."

Red light exploded from Citrine, forming into Ruby, who stretched. Behind her, Citrine continued to sit in meditation, not showing any signs that it, she, was going to stand up and follow Ruby around. That was a trait unique to Umbra, the other Warframes, Citrine, Voruna and Gauss, would just sit there unresponsive when Ruby teleported in. It made Blake wonder what the hell a Warframe actually was, especially with the live wolf heads on Voruna that also went immobile when Ruby stopped piloting it.

"Time for breakfast?" Ruby asked. The girl had filled out considerably in the last year, no longer looking like she hadn't eaten in… Well, ever, and now just looking like a skinny girl, fitting her spacesuit better.

"Yep," Tai-Yang said, coming down the stairs, "You three have a busy day coming up, how about some crepes with strawberries and chocolate for you, Ruby?"

Ruby's eyes lit up, "Really?"

"Really," Tai said, laughing, "and would you like some salmon, Blake?"

"You're cooking us individual meals?" Blake asked.

"Like I said, you have a busy, and big, day in front of you. It isn't every day you start Beacon, afterall."

"Thank you," Blake said, "for everything."

"I'll admit, I wasn't sure when Ruby decided you were staying with us, but you've been a wonderful house guest. If you ever need a place to stay, or anything, don't hesitate to ask."

Weiss strode onto the airship, looking around and immediately noticing the strange creature kneeling behind a trio of girls, a tan creature with a giant section of their front carved out to reveal a geodic orange pattern in their body, a red cloak over their body. So that was one of Vale's mythical aliens? What was it doing on the airship to Beacon?

Walking over, she shoved past the smallest of the three girls, sending her staggering back into the blonde who dropped the dog in her arms, catching the girl and righting her while shooting Weiss a glare. Weiss didn't respond, instead imperiously demanding, "What are you doing here?"

The alien didn't answer, didn't give any sign it had even heard Weiss. It just continued its silent meditation, head bowed and breast unmoving. Before she could make the demand again, a heavy hand landed on her shoulder and she was whipped around by the blonde, "What the hell!?"

"What?" Weiss said.

"You shoved Ruby!" The blonde said, eyes red.

"She was in my way!" Weiss said,

"So? You didn't ask her to move, you just shoved her!"

"Don't be surprised, Yang," the black haired girl with a bow on her head said, dramatically snapping her book shut as she did so, "she's Weiss Schnee, heiress of the Schnee Dust Company."

Weiss puffed out her chest, at least one of them recognized her! That was goo-

"The same one that uses wage slavery and other morally questionable buisness tactics?" The young girl said, leaving Weiss spluttering. Especially as the girl's silver eye had become dull and steely as she spun a kunai around one finger.

"I never-!" Weiss snarled.

"Yep," Black said.

"This conversation is over," the young one deadpanned.

"What are you even doing on this airship?" Weiss demanded "This is the airbus to Beacon, not somewhere for a child-!"

"I said," the girl said, "this conversation is over. Go somewhere else, Corpus."

Weiss didn't need to know what a Corpus was to know it was an insult. She ballooned up, glaring at the short girl, "and who are you, to order me around?"

"Fine, we'll go somewhere else," the girl said, "Yang, I'm gonna have to-"

"You were going to have to to get Citrine off the airbus anyways," Yang said with a sigh, and the girl disintegrated into motes of red light. Immediately, the alien stood up and began to walk away with the other two. Leaving Weiss to stand there, jaw hanging open as she fought the urge to go after them.
