Episode 279: Grass Hysteria!
A little while passed since Brendan and May made up from their recent argument. They walked through the forest on their way towards Fortree City. Just before they go even further, Brendan is practicing with his Keyblade when he heard something in the shrubs.
"Who's there?" Brendan asked, holding his Keyblade. He saw it was a Charmander. He was surprised that he was actually seeing a Charmander; a wild Charmander to be exact! He knew it was rare to see a Charmander in the Hoenn region, and he had to admit, he always wanted a Charmander of his own for as long as he remembered, so this was his chance to actually catch one. "So cool. I have just the Pokémon to catch this one." He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Mudkip! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Mudkip emerged from inside. Charmander saw the Mud Fish Pokémon and growled. "Mudkip! Use Tackle!" Mudkip charged at Charmander, landing a hit. Charmander responds by giving a Thunder Punch to Mudkip. "That was Thunder Punch. So cool! Mudkip! Use Mud-Slap!" Mudkip hurls a Mud-Slap right at Charmander, hitting it with mud. This made the Lizard Pokémon angry and rushes at Mudkip again with a Scratch. "Mudkip! Use Water Gun!" Mudkip fired Water Gun, hitting it. Brendan saw Charmander was weakened enough, Brendan took out a Pokéball and threw it. Charmander flowed inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Brendan's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep his new Charmander with him. He decided to keep his new Charmander in exchange for his Heracross. He picked up his Pokéball and smiled. "I got myself a Charmander!"
"Brendan, there you are," Sora said, showing up.
"What's up, Sora?" Brendan asked.
"Just came to tell you that dinner's ready," Sora said.
"Ah, not a moment too soon," Brendan said. Sora and Brendan rejoined the group as Kairi has prepared some chili dogs for everyone.
"Wow, these look tasty," Sora said.
"Just a little recipe from an old friend," Kairi said. Sora took one and he took a bite. It was a perfect blending of spices and the chili beans.
"The spices are perfect," Sora said.
"I'll say it is. Everything you make tastes great!" Brendan said.
"What do you expect. If you keep cooking like this, and Sora will be fatter than a Snorlax," May said. Brendan, May, Max, and Lisia all laughed as Sora and Kairi blushed.
Brendan's new Charmander didn't waste any time getting to know the other Pokémon.
Meanwhile, Axel has returned to Rustboro City. He knew he lost Saïx's trail for now, but he also knew he won't be able to run forever. And that was when Ash showed up.
"Axel, you're here," Ash said.
"Ash, I didn't expect to run into you again so soon," Axel said.
"We need to talk, Axel; or should I just call you 'Lea'?" Ash asked. Axel just looked at him.
"How do you know that?" Axel asked.
"Before I answer any questions you have for me, let me ask you first. You remember meeting a kid named Viento, right?" Ash asked.
"Yeah," Axel said.
"And you also said you want everyone you meet to remember you, just so you'd be immortal inside of people's memories," Ash said.
"I did say that. Just tell me how do you know this," Axel said.
"Okay, I've been having visions of the past about Viento and his two friends, and you were in one of those visions," Ash said. Axel just chuckled.
"So you saw me in your visions, huh?" Axel asked.
"I did. I couldn't ask you about it since the others were there, so I thought I should ask. How come Viento and Roxas look so much alike?" Ash asked.
"I don't know, to be honest. When I first met Roxas, I thought it was him, but it wasn't. Roxas could barely even form a sentence when he talked. I could tell how two different kinds of people they were even if they have the same face and the voice," Axel said.
"I guess asking you would have been too easy on my part," Ash said. "So what is Xemnas planning?"
"He's making an artificial Kingdom Hearts and they're using real hearts that came from slained Heartless that they've unleashed on different worlds. And that's where Roxas came in. But they needed to make Roxas stronger, so-" Axel paused.
"They needed Sora out of the way," Ash said. He sighed.
"Yeah, but Roxas knew he couldn't do it by himself, so he needed Sora, and the only way to make that happen is when Roxas returned to him," Axel said.
"Well, you should be glad Roxas is doing okay under Sora's watch. And Xion is doing fine, too," Ash said.
"I know," Axel said. "But I did snag a couple of things for you, Ash." Axel took out what look like mannequins, but wearing Organization XIII's coat.
"What are these?" Ash asked.
"They're replica vessels. They were made by Vexen, so he's made several of them. I managed to sneak in and out before anyone noticed me, but it won't be long before they know it's me," Axel said.
"But how am I supposed to use these?" Ash asked.
"You'll have to figure that out for yourselves, but you should put these where nobody can find them; especially the Organization," Axel said.
"Lukily, I've got this," Ash said, taking out his magic bag. He placed the replicas inside it. "I bet you're doing it just so you can have Roxas and Xion back, right?"
"I confess, it is," Axel said. "I wanna see them again. I just want the good old times back."
"Well, once Roxas and Xion comes back, I'll make sure that happens," Ash said. Axel just smiled.
"Well, I'll hold you up to that promise, Ash," Axel said.
Over to the World That Never Was, Vexen has discovered that two of his replicas were missing. He discovered a piece of red hair. He recognized it.
"Axel. I didn't think you'd be foolish enough to come back here. Lord Xemnas should know this," Vexen said.
After their meal has ended, the group ends up being lost in a dark forest.
"Somebody tell me that we didn't take a wrong turn?" Sora asked.
"The PokéNav is off the blink. I don't think it's going to help us," Max said.
"This area isn't even on the map," Kairi said.
"Something tells me that there might be Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed lurking around. And I got a sickening feeling that they may pick us off," May said.
"Not as long as we stick together," Lisia said.
"Lisia's right. A really powerful Heartless, Nobody or Unversed might pick us off if we wonder off, and the only way we have a chance against it is when we stick together," Sora said.
"But if there are any around us, then we can just take them out if they try anything," Brendan said.
"I agree with Brendan, because we want to see them before they see us," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
They hear a sound close to them.
"What was that?" Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Max, and Lisia asked. They got their answer when a Skarmory appeared out of the bushes.
"A Skarmory!" Max exclaimed.
"Run!" Sora shouted.
Everyone started to run as Skarmory gave chase. One of May's Pokéballs opened and Skitty came right out. Skarmory flew right at Skitty.
"Skitty!" May gasped. She went to grab the Kitten Pokémon.
"May, get out of there!" Brendan exclaimed. Skarmory grabbed May by her fanny pack.
"It got May!" Max gasped.
"May, no!" Brendan exclaimed.
"Help!" May cried.
"May, hold on! We'll save you!" Brendan shouted.
The Armor Bird Pokémon flew over a wooden gate. Two men were standing guard.
"Stop!" One of the men said. The group stopped in their tracks. "I'm afraid this is the end of the line for you."
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"No one is allowed to pass through this point. That is the law here. You must leave this forest immediately," the first man said.
"We can't do that," Lisia said.
"Because my sister and her Skitty were carried this way by a Skarmory," Max added.
"So we were chasing after them over this gate," Sora said.
"What?" The second man asked.
"You're saying a human has gone beyond this gate?" The first man said.
"Please, we need to get in to find her," Brendan said. The two men turned to each other.
"This could mean trouble," the first man said.
"We must speak with Old Man Obee about this right now," the second man said.
"Yeah, you're right," the first man agreed. He turned to the group. "Okay, come with us." They lead the group to whom they assumed was the elder.
Over the gate, Skarmory dropped May and her Skitty and flown off. May and Skitty watched She sighed with relief that she was let go.
"Finally, I'm so glad that's over," May said. She sets her attention to Skitty. "Are you alright, Skitty?"
"Nya, nya!" Skitty meowed.
"Get some rest, Skitty," May said, calling back her Skitty. She heard a sound not too far from her. She saw it was a Bulbasaur, but it has a heart-shaped mark on its forehead. "Wow, it's a Bulbasaur!" The Bulbasaur was using its Vine Whip to reach for a flower. When it grabbed the flower, it smiled to itself, feeling proud. Bulbasaur slipped, but May grabbed the Seed Pokémon before it could fall. "Oh no!" She held Bulbasaur in her hands. "Hold still." She placed Bulbasaur down. "There. Are you okay now?"
"Bulbasaur," Bulbasaur nodded. But when it got a good look at May, it backed away from May, feeling scared of her.
"Don't be scared. I won't hurt you, Bulbasaur," May assured. "My name is May."
"Bulba," Bulbasaur said. It extends its vine to May to feel her face, but she laughed, being tickled. "Hey, that tickles!"
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur beamed.
Just then, a Sunflora, a Gloom, and a Weepinbell show up in between May and Bulbasaur. They were all angered to see May. She didn't know what was going on.
"What? What's wrong?" May asked.
Back to the group, the men led the group to an old man with a large beard and held a wooden cane in his hand. They explained to him about the situation about May.
"I understand how you're feeling, but I'm afraid there's nothing I can do. The truth is, the land that lays beyond is strictly off-limits to all humans under any circumstances whatsoever," Old Man Obee said.
"Off-limits?" Sora, Kairi, Max, and Lisia asked.
"Why?" Brendan asked.
"The law states that whoever sets foot inside will incur the wrath of the Grass-type Pokémon," Old Man Obee said.
"So wait! What's going to happen to my sister?!" Max exclaimed.
"And you're telling us that we should just abandon our friend in there? Just say, 'Sorry that we have to leave you behind, and it was nice knowing you'?" That's crazy!" Sora exclaimed.
"He's right! We can't do that because she's our friend!" Lisia said.
"And friends don't leave friends behind!" Kairi said.
"Yeah, that's right! You can just forget it!" Brendan said.
Old Man Obee could see how serious they are and he sighed to himself, unable to make them change their minds.
"Then, I will have to ask you to wait here while we go and figure out how to best handle the situation," Old Man Obee said.
He and the other men went inside the house to discuss about the manner. Brendan wasn't going to have any of it. Sora and Kairi knew it won't go so well.
"You think Brendan will just would go and try to rescue May with or without their say-so?" Sora asked.
"He would. Besides, you would do the same thing for me if it was me in there," Kairi said.
"You're right about that, Kairi," Sora agreed. "I feel for him, because I remember when that Entei took off with my mom back in Greenfield."
"Yeah, Riku, Ash, Ethan, Leaf, Lyra, and Kris went with us to rescue her, because they couldn't change your mind even if they tried," Kairi said.
"Yeah, and I know we wouldn't stop Brendan either, so we should go with him just to make sure he doesn't do anything reckless," Sora said.
"Yes, we should," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Back with May, Gloom, Sunflora, and Weepinbell were still glaring at May.
"Wow, what did I do? Why are they so angry at me?" May asked. Gloom attacked with a Sludge Bomb, Weepinbell attacked with Vine Whip, while Sunflora fired Razor Leaf. May quickly jumped out of the way before any of them could hit her. "Hey, why'd you do that for?" Bulbasaur got in front of May.
"Wait, you don't understand! She helped me!" - Bulbasaur subtitle. Weepinbell refused to listen, so it pulled Bulbasaur out of the way. Just then, several Grass-type Pokémon arrived. They all consisted of Oddish, Sunkern, Hoppip, Skiploom, Budew, and Roselia. They all glared at her.
"I really don't understand," May said. Sunflora attacked with another Razor Leaf as one of the Oddish attacked with a Sludge Bomb. May took out a Pokéball. "Okay, fine! You asked for it!" She threw it. "Torchic! Go!" Her Torchic came out. "Use Ember!" She fired Ember, blocking the Razor Leaf and Sludge Bomb attacks from reaching her. The Grass-types were all stunned by how their attacks were just reflected. "That was great! Come on!" She and Torchic started to run for it. Bulbasaur tried to go after her, but Sunflora got in front of Bulbasaur, stopping it.
"You know the law. We don't allow humans in here!" - Sunflora subtitle.
Back outside, Old Man Obee and the other men were debating whether or not if they should go in and get May out. Brendan was heading for the gate. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel got in front of him.
"Don't try to stop me, you two. I'm not waiting for them to make a decision," Brendan said.
"We're not either, Brendan," Kairi said.
"Because we're going with you," Sora said. Brendan gave the couple a puzzling look.
"You're going with me?" Brendan asked.
"You heard us," Sora said.
"Besides, we couldn't stop even if we wanted to," Kairi said. Brendan smiled, knowing he wasn't alone.
"Thanks, Sora, Kairi," Brendan said.
"Take us with you," Max said.
"No, you two will have to hang back," Brendan said.
"Brendan's right. Sora, Brendan, and I are the only ones who can run up the gate. And besides, it's not the Pokémon inside I'm worried about," Kairi said.
"We know it's the Heartless. For all we know, Xemnas could be planning another attack, and it's only fair that battle be taken out of here," Lisia said.
"I guess," Max said.
"Just be careful in there," Lisia said. Sora, Kairi, and Brendan nodded.
Inside of Old Man Obee's house...
"But it's the law! No matter what the reason, we can't break it!" One of the men argued.
"There's a girl being held captive by a Skarmory! And Skarmory can care less about the law," another man said.
"I guess I can see what you're saying," the first man said. They hear their Poochyena barking, knowing something was up. They saw the group gone. "Look! Three of the kids have disappeared!"
"Is it possible they've gone to the Forbidden Land?!" Another man exclaimed.
"Well, if they have, bring them back!" Old Man Obee ordered.
The men came out, running, but Lisia intervened.
"Get out of the way!" The first man demanded.
"They'll be alright," Lisia assured. The men were dumbfounded.
"What are you talking about?" Old Man Obee asked.
"They can handle it," Lisia said.
Not in the mood to listen, the men ran last her and Max, and they saw Sora, Kairi, and Brendan running up the gate with Pikachu and Angel hanging on.
"Are they running up the gate?!" Old Man Obee exclaimed in shock. "How did they do that?"
"They do more than that," Lisia said. They turned to see Lisia and Max. "And they use those skills to defend themselves from something worse than Grass-type Pokémon."
Inside, the Forbidden Land, the Grass-types continue their hunt for May and Torchic, but they're hiding in the bushes.
"I can't figure out why they're so mad at me," May said.
"Tor!" Torchic chirped, warning her. May saw a Stun Spore coming right towards them.
"Crap, it's Stun Spore!" May gasped. She covered her mouth. "Come on, Torchic, let's go!" The Chick Pokémon agreed and followed her. She stopped when she saw the Grass-types glaring right at her. "You got to believe me, we really don't mean you any harm." One of the Gloom prepared to attack, but Brendan in with his Charmander out.
"Charmander! Use Flamethrower!" Brendan ordered. Charmander fired Flamethrower, stopping them in their tracks. May turned to see Sora, Kairi, and their partners running up to her.
"Brendan, Sora, Kairi!" May exclaimed.
"Come on!" Kairi said.
"Let's go!" Sora said.
"Charmander! Make a path for us with Flamethrower!" Brendan ordered. Charmander fired Flamethrower, making the Grass-types move.
"May, the reason that those Grass-types are hassling you is because this whole place is forbidden!" Sora explained.
"So they attack any human that they see," Kairi added.
"But it's not my fault I ended up coming in here!" May said.
"We know that! And we came in here to get you out!" Brendan said.
Several Sunflora gets in their path, so they turn to the left, and they have Jumpluff getting in front of them.
"Angel! Use Swift to make a path!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift, hitting the Jumpluff and making them scatter. A bunch of Vileplume get in their way, too. They make it to a cliff, trapped.
"Great, we're trapped," Brendan said.
They turned to see the Grass-type Pokémon in front of them. There is a new Pokémon among the Grass-types.
It is a bipedal Pokémon with an appearance that incorporates features of roses and masquerade attire. It has hair made of white rose petals, and a leafy, green cape with a yellow, collar-like bangle on its neck. The cape pattern reaches toward the back of its head, in spiky, sepal-like extensions on the hair. It has a dark-green mask over its red, yellow-lidded eyes. The lower portion of its face is light green, and it holds a bouquet in each hand, with a red in its right hand and blue in its left. Its limbs and underside are light green. Its feet end with yellow tips. Sora and Kairi noticed it.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?" Sora asked. Kairi took out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Roserade, the Bouquet Pokémon
The evolved form of Roselia
Type: Grass/Poison
It lures in prey with a sweet-smelling scent. It uses the whips on its arms, lined with poisonous thorns poison, bind, and finish off the prey.
"Well, that answers that," Kairi said, putting her Rotom Phone away.
"Please listen to me, I didn't come here on purpose, I promise you. And I would never ever think of hurting any of you," May said.
"Listen to them! We come in peace, so please let us leave in peace!" - Pikachu subtitle.
"We didn't even know about your land!" - Angel subtitle.
"And we won't tell anybody about this place!" - Torchic subtitle.
The Grass-types were not won over by their claims.
"I have a feeling they're not going to listen to us," Sora said.
"And I can see they don't intend to let us get out alive either," Kairi said.
The Grass-type Pokémon prepared to attack the humans, but a Venusaur appeared. With it is the same Bulbasaur from before.
"ENOUGH!" - Venusaur subtitle. The Grass-types stopped, hearing the Venusaur and they turned to see it approaching.
"A Venusaur," Brendan said.
"And I'm guessing he's the leader," Kairi said.
"And that's a Bulbasaur, too," Sora said. Venusaur extends its vine, frisking them for anything.
"The girl in red is the one who helped me." - Bulbasaur subtitle.
"I see." - Venusaur subtitle. Venusaur picked up Torchic and Charmander and shook his head.
"May, Brendan, you might want to call them back, because he might push us off if you don't," Sora suggested.
"I think you're right," Brendan agreed. He knew Grass-types didn't like Fire-types like Charmander and Torchic. He and May took out their Pokéballs.
"Venusaur, I hope you understand I never meant to upset you and I'm sorry this happened," May said. Convinced, Venusaur turned to the rest of the Grass-types.
"They helped my daughter, so they mean no harm. I saw the proof that I needed to see when they recalled the Fire-types back inside, and if they hadn't, I wouldn't have believed a word of it." - Venusaur subtitle.
"They attacked us! How do you explain that?" - Roserade subtitle.
"That was only because you attacked first. So I will have no further use of violence against them." - Venusaur subtitle. The Grass-types all knew better than to argue with their leader, so they all had to comply with him.
"I think they're understanding," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"That's a good sign," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
The Grass-type Pokémon take Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Pikachu, and Angel to a lake. They saw beautiful it was.
"Such a beautiful lake. It's no wonder they love it here so much," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Bulbasaur," the Bulbasaur said, presenting May a flower. She saw the flower in Bulbasaur's vine.
"Oh, it's pretty. You're so sweet," May said.
"Doesn't she remind you of Leaf's Bulbasaur, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"She does now that you mentioned it," Sora said.
"That's right, Leaf's very first Pokémon was a Bulbasaur," May pointed out.
"And then, she evolved all the way up to Venusaur," Brendan added.
"That's right. Venusaur's her trusty partner just like Pikachu and Angel are to me and Grovyle and Torchic are to you," Sora said. "But it wasn't just her Bulbasaur, but the one I caught of my own."
"How can I forget? He did tackle into you when he thought you were trying to take Oddish away," Kairi said.
"Bulbasaur," Bulbasaur said, taking May by the hand.
"Where are we going?" May asked. Bulbasaur tugged on her.
"Wait for us," Brendan said as he, Sora, and Kairi followed. Venusaur watched from his rock and smiled. Hiding among the foliage are pairs of orange and yellow chameleon-like eyes.
Bulbasaur leads them to a cliff that has a view over the entire forest.
"Whoa, look at the size of the forest," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"You've said it, Sora. It's no wonder we got lost so easily," Brendan said.
"I can see a town over there," May said.
"So do I," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Bulba?" Bulbasaur asked.
"You've been here your whole life, right? It makes sense that you wouldn't know what a town looks like," Brendan said.
"Know what? Outside this forest there is an enormous world. There are all sorts of people and Pokémon that live in the world. And there are restaurants, strip malls with stores with awesome clothes," May said.
"Bulbasaur," Bulbasaur said.
"You probably don't care about the clothes part," May said, picking up the Seed Pokémon. "But you see over there? That's what we call a town."
"Bulbasaur," Bulbasaur said.
"My friends and I traveled through lots of towns, just like that one," May said.
"Bulba," Bulbasaur said.
Back outside, Old Man Obee started to explain to Lisia and Max about why it's off-limits to people.
"Ages ago, this forest was invaded time and time again by people looking to capture as many Grass-type Pokémon as they possibly could. These Pokémon became enraged and began to fight back against the invaders, as they sadly watched their forest become a wasteland. In order to stop this travesty, a small group of people constructed this wall, claiming this land forbidden," Old Man Obee said.
"So that's why you didn't want us going in," Lisia said.
"Yes, it is," Old Man Obee confirmed.
"Our village's sole purpose of its existence is to make sure that law is obeyed," the first man said.
"Fortunately, this has irregularities in the earth's magnetic field that make nearly make it impossible for compasses to work, even if you try to enter," the second man said.
"That explains why we couldn't get a good signal around here," Max said.
"Yeah, but all that matters is getting May, Sora, Kairi, and Brendan out of there," Lisia said.
"Agreed. And I say we must save those four at all costs," Old Man Obee said, slamming his cane on the soil.
"Right," Max, Lisia, and the men agreed. The Poochyena barked.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Pikachu, Angel, and Bulbasaur, they continued looking ahead towards the town.
"I think we should leave this forest, because Lisia and Max are getting worried about us," Kairi said.
"You're right, Kairi. Even though it's beautiful here, we're not supposed to be here anyway," May said. They hear the Grass-type Pokémon shrieking in fear behind them. "What was that?"
"Only one way to find out!" Sora said.
Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Pikachu, Angel, and Bulbasaur saw a bunch of Stealth Sneaks attacking the Grass-type Pokémon.
"Heartless!" Sora, Kairi, Brendan, and May exclaimed. They summoned their Keyblades and engaged the chameleon-like Heartless.
Over to Lisia, Max, and the villagers, they walked through the forest, using a rope to find their way back.
"Glad we're using a rope instead of bread crumbs," Lisia said.
"Yeah, because we'd end up being lost if some Pokémon came and started to eat them," Max said. The Poochyena sniffed the soil and caught a whiff of something strange. They started to growl
"The Poochyena are acting strange," the second man said.
"Look!" Max said, pointing to a footprint.
"A footprint?" The second man asked.
"What kind of Pokémon made that?" The third man asked.
"I don't think it's a Pokémon," Lisia said.
"Yeah, it's not from any Pokémon I know," Max said.
"Oh no, this is what I was afraid of," Lisia said.
They then heard a strange roar not too far away.
"What was that?" Old Man Obee asked.
"Whatever made that footprint," Lisia said.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Pikachu, and Angel, they engaged the Stealth Sneaks. They fired lasers from their eyes, so Kairi casts her reflect spell to make their attack bounce off. Sora and Brendan struck down one and Kairi struck down another one. A Stealth Sneak was coming at Bulbasaur. She was scared witless, but May came to Bulbasaur's aide and struck it down. Another Stealth Sneak approached May and Bulbasaur.
"Don't worry, Bulbasaur. I won't let those monsters get you," May assured. Venusaur then attacked with a Vine Whip.
"Venusaur," Kairi said.
"He must want to help, too," Brendan said.
Venusaur grabbed a Stealth Sneak with Vine Whip and slammed it down hard. Sora then casts a balloon spell, hitting it. The pops from the balloons destroyed the Stealth Sneak before more started to show up.
"They just keep coming," Sora said.
"Poochyena! Shadow Ball!" Old Man Obee ordered. The three Poochyena fired Shadow Ball, hitting one. They saw Lisia, Max, and the villagers coming.
"May!" Max exclaimed.
"Glad to see you, Max!" May said.
"I think we should hold off on the reunions because we gotta get rid of these things!" Brendan said.
"You're right," May agreed. "Cool down! Blizzard!" May casts a blizzard spell, freezing the Stealth Sneaks. She then threw her Keyblade, shattering the frozen Heartless into millions of pieces. Hearts floats up into the sky. Sora and Kairi combined their efforts as they crossed their Keyblades together.
"Light!" Sora and Kairi shouted as light shines, destroying all of the remaining Stealth Sneaks. Everyone shields their eyes. When the light fades, they saw the Stealth Sneaks gone.
"Where did they go?" The first man asked.
"They're gone," Brendan said. He turned to Sora and Kairi. "And I don't think they'll be back."
The sun begins to set as the group stepped outside of the Forbidden Land. Old Man Obee speaks with the Pokémon on the village's behalf.
"My dear friends, please accept our sincere apologies for disturbing you," Old Man Obee said.
"We hope you can forgive us," May said.
"And thanks for getting us out to safety," Brendan said.
"And now, my friends, it is time for us to close this gate," Old Man Obee said.
"You're right," Sora agreed.
"We should go," Kairi said.
"Yeah," May agreed. She took a look at Bulbasaur. "Take good care of yourself, Bulbasaur."
"Bulba," Bulbasaur sadly said.
"I'll miss you," May said.
"You may want to hurry, May. They wanna close the gate," Max said.
"Okay," May said. She stepped out of the gate and kept her eyes on the little Seed Pokémon with sadness. The gate begins to close. Bulbasaur was sharing her sadness, because she saved her twice. Once from falling and again from a Stealth Sneak. Venusaur looked at her daughter and knew she didn't want to say goodbye. Bulbasaur started to run out, much to everyone's surprise. She jumped right into May's arms. "What, Bulbasaur? You wanna come with me?"
"Bulba," Bulbasaur nodded.
"And them?" May asked.
Bulbasaur looked behind as she saw her father and friends all saying their goodbyes to Bulbasaur, hoping that she has a good life.
"May, that's so awesome!" Max said.
"It sure is. I guess we've both found a new friend today, huh?" May asked.
"Bulba," Bulbasaur said.
"My own Bulbasaur," May said, holding her up.
"Well, it seems she has earned the trust of the Grass-type Pokémon," Old Man Obee said.
"And we have a new teammate to boot," Sora said.
"We sure do," Kairi agreed.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee, vee," Angel said.
As the gate completely closes, May took out a Pokéball and threw it up into the air. Bulbasaur jumped up and pressed the button on the Pokéball. She flows inside of it. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. May caught the Pokéball in her hands.
"Welcome aboard, Bulbasaur," May said.
Thanks to the efforts of Sora, Kairi, Brendan, and May, the paradise of the Grass-type Pokémon is back to normal. With the exception of one Bulbasaur, who decided to join May in her journey through the Hoenn region.
