As time went by both Naruto and Minato found out that many of the things they knew were wrong or happened differently, Kushina was alive and well, and she was only sleeping due to her trauma, once her body recovered she would be back up and as if nothing happened, granted when she finds out her husband got eaten by the Shinigami, well that will make her quite sad.
As to where she is, she is still in the hidden base where she was taken so she could give birth to Naruto, the other thing that was strange to Naruto is that the wife of the Third Hokage was alive and well, as if nothing wrong had ever happened. It appears as if they were keeping the illusion she was dead or the misinformation so that she could stay with Kushina and make sure there was someone there to take care of her physical and medical needs.
The second strange thing is that the Academy offers healing lessons to every ninja, regardless of whether they plan to become a medic ninja or not, to Minato made perfect sense, every team regardless of what mission they do, would benefit from having knowledge on how to treat injuries and illnesses of not only themselves but to help and treat their teammates.
Thanks to this many of the Uchiha who were supposed to die during the massacre survived, but many still tragically perished not because they could not recover or be treated, but rather because their injuries were too severe for anyone to treat them. This also increased of people trained in first aid treatment and simple medical techniques allowing many of the people to survive the deadly attack of the Kyuubi No kitsune, so in this world, Naruto did not receive as bad treatment as Naruto remembers.
Every girl who has those weird dreams underwent special training, the fact is that after seeing those dreams they understood what they were weak on and what they needed to improve, and much to the people training them, they did as instructed, with no complaints or excuses, it was as if these girls were more committed to their training than any kids they ever trained. This allowed the trainers to push them to their limits, and train them to be much better than even they expected, but the real shock was they all knew how to produce shadow clones, with each being able to make at least three of them each if not more in some cases.
So while they were trained the shadow clones did the same, thanks to the mental link, and they used them to train constantly, learning and perfecting what they learned even when their instructors told them to rest. This was not something any of the instructors would ever expect from a bunch of kids who just graduated from the academy, they behaved more like ninjas out on a mission. Most of them didn't even know that Naruto was doing something similar but in a much more severe fashion, they had no idea that he would be one of the kids who would be called to form the new teams, too many of the students graduated he was a guy who didn't even pass the final exam, so never graduated, but not to the girls who had those dreams.
It was the fact that his training would be done in two places the first was the hidden base with his mother who was finally awake when they restored her consciousness and where all of his shadow clones would train, and the second was in his mindscape Minato spent those seven days teaching his son everything he knew, how to calibrate the seals so he could use the flight of the thunder god technique, how to form the Rasensgan with one hand, to master his chakra control to the extent that he could use his chakra chains almost on instinct, and last but not least a double lecture course on seals, with Kushina, Minato, and Kurama engaging in something Naruto called tag team teaching.
The seven days went by fast, and by the time he arrived at the Academy to wait to be placed on the team, Naruto looked so much different than what he once did, that nobody even recognized him. He took off almost all the orange from his clothes, he only kept three places where he still had it, his forehead protector strap, his hip pouch, and his sandals. He was dressed in a very serious manner and the way his clothes contrasted, they never even noticed the three articles that were in fact still orange.
As for his whiskers, he took the advice of his father and told him to wear a facial mask that covers his throat and most of his face, Minato mentioned that a person whom he taught and once adopted chose to do the same, his name was Kakashi Hakate. Hearing stories of him inspired Naruto to realize that seeking attention was meaningless, achieving, doing great, and being a great ninja, and they would recognize him for that alone.
So it came to pass that nobody of the people that he went to class recognized him or so he thought, but in truth, some girls knew exactly who he was, and were just pretending not to notice. Hinata has gone from being once thought of as being weaker than her sister, to being one of the most skilled in her clan, her training had been both harsh and incredibly difficult, she thought that she would focus on her clan techniques, but in truth she studied under Tsunade, Might Guy, and Anko.
She could easily break bones as well as heal them. The sadistic Ibiki told her father if she didn't choose to continue doing missions, she would always be welcomed in the Torture and Interrogation Divison. Sakura and Ino both learned under Tsunade, but only Ino learned under Kurenai and Anko, or so she thought, Anko taught her to strike like a serpent and Kurenai to break through the mental defenses of her enemies. No mind could keep anything secret from her, and she didn't need to touch the person to do so.
Sakura was kicking herself when she realized how stupid her ideas were, the training Tsunade, Kurenai, and Might Guy put her through caused her to burn through so many calories, that the very notion of dieting was crushed, because she would not be able to complete her training if she did not eat properly. Mebuki was shocked to see her daughter do something she had never done during the academy, she asked for different food, and then she asked for not only seconds but thirds and fourth servings. Mebuki thought her daughter behaved like she was always starving.
Tenten trained as hard but she had more time since she could continue after the seven days, because, unlike the others she was already in a team having graduated earlier than the girls, Shizune was the one with the most advantages, she received constant training from Tsunade, and because she could send her shadow clones to do all her work as an assistant to Tsunade, she could receive lessons from any Jounin that had some free time.
As the final day of training was over Sarada was telling her friends what she had to go through for her training, this made her friends laugh as she was told they had to go through pretty much the same thing, Anko may not be gentle but she gets things done, the snake contract was a nice bonus, Sarada was getting along with her summons. She is happy if she never again hears about the flames of youth, and Kurenai's training is more akin to torture.
Naruto was waiting for Iruka to come and tell them how each of them would be placed into teams and who the instructor was. To Naruto it was freaky, to say the least, Kiba was now a girl when in his memories he was a boy, and so was Akamaru who turned into a much cuter version of a ninja dog than he would have admitted before or ever, the next major thing is that he could not find anything about Sasuke, no matter how much he looked and asked all over the village, instead the last Uchiha in the village was this girl by the name of Sarada, which was freaky because that is the name of Sasuke's daughter in his memories.
Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru were pretty much as friendly as he expected, and that made it easy to identify and know where they were, he knew that Asuma Sarutobi was going to lead that team, Hinata was for some reason not as shy as she once was, she was actually talking to two friends and she displayed confidence and for some strange reason this charisma that Naruto found awfully appealing, or maybe that was just the effects of the memories he had of her.
She would be placed on the same team with Kiba and Shino, Kiba was one he was not sure if she was anything like she was in those memories, would be kind of weird that the guy from his memories and this girl were exactly the same. His memories told him Shino was not what you call very open or communicative, he didn't speak unless it was absolutely necessary and if he was going to talk with anyone it would be the bugs that lived inside his body. Kurenai Yuhi was the team leader, and as far as his memories told him, she had some regrets as to what had happened with a girl she once tutored from the Kurama Clan, which to him was an odd coincidence.
Well as he looked for Sasuke he also found out that the girl from the Kurama Clan somehow was helped and was currently a Chuunin, so at least Naruto was sure Kurenai was feeling a lot better, his team, however, was still as much of a nightmare as it ever was, Sakura Haruno, looks like she doesn't have that focus on her appearance, makes sense since there is no Sasuke, and she was far stronger and focused, Sarada she was every bit of an Emo as Sasuke ever was, she had all the makings of an Avenger, but sadly this person seemed like she put a lot more effort in training because she looked like if someone wanted to pick a fight, she was both ready and able to fight back.
He knew that the other two teams' instructors would come and take them to their first team meeting, but Naruto knew what was going to happen, so knowing Kakashi would be late, he picked up a book from his pouch and began to read it, just to make sure people don't bother him and ask what was he reading, he used the cover from Icha Icha Paradise to make others think Naruto was reading that book, it worked, nobody bothered him, a little too well.
The book he was reading actually was a medical ninja textbook dealing with pressure points and their effects on the human body. He knew that he might as well get something done as he waited for Kakashi to finally show up, and did by sending a clone to tell them to meet him on the roof of the very Academy they were in, Naruto didn't want to waste time, he jumped out of a window and began to run up the wall towards the rooftop, Sakura and Sarada was following him a little less fast than he was.
He finally made it, and Kakashi was not there, seeing that he was still going to wait he took out the book and began to read it. Sakura had enough and walked over to him and asked Naruto why was he reading that smut? Naruto just told her to look beneath the underneath, in all things, as he said this she took the book and began to read some of it, it was a medical ninja textbook.
"So you want to be better at targeting pressure points, you clearly want to build on your previous knowledge, impressive Naruto, I do too, we all do in fact, but why pretend that book is Icha Icha at all?" Naruto told her so nobody would interrupt his reading. People will avoid talking to him if they think it is one of those books. Sarada had to admit that was a very good way to keep others away, but that also gave him the undeserved reputation of being a pervert.
Naruto simply threw a kunai at the tree near them and began to laugh as he saw Kakashi not happy that he barely missed the actual Icha Icha book he had held in his hand, "Now that you three are here, let's begin by doing introductions, I am Kakashi Hakate, I like many things, I hate many more and my dreams are none of your business, you first blondie."
Naruto stood up and glared at Kakashi like he was nothing more than a disrespectful punk, which shocked Kakashi. "If you will not do the proper introduction I will do it for you, His name is Kakashi Hakate, adopted by Minato Namikaze, and Kushina Uzumaki, and my adopted big brother, likes making people that upset him wait, and training, he hates traitors and people who only think of themselves, his dream is to one day have the best ninja dog team ever, and to bring honor to his family. Am I wrong?"
Kakashi glared at Naruto and told him they didn't need to know that, he was trying to leave those two guessing as to sound more mysterious and cool, Naruto quickly corrected that sounded more cold and that he didn't care about them which would cause them not to trust him. Which is the worst thing he should do as their instructor, "Alright, I guess I am next, my name is Naruto Uzumaki, I am the son of the fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and the feared Red Hot Habanero, Kushina Uzumaki, I like ramen and training, my dislikes are traitors and crooked bastards, my dream is to be the best Hokage there ever was, and one day make people realize all the so-called tailed beasts are people too!"
Both Sakura and Sarada found that last part particularly funny, as they both tried very hard not to laugh, he looked at Sakura with a serious look, pretty telling her she was next. "Sakura Haruno, I like to train and learn medical techniques, and I dislike perverts and those that try to force women to do things against their will, my goal is to become the best Medical Ninja that ever was, and help someone reestablish his clan." Sarada didn't like the sound of that last part as Sakura was looking at Naruto when she said it.
Being last sucks, everyone said so many things that will sound a ton better than anything she could come up with on the spot, "I am Sarada Uchiha, I like my family and learning new things, I dislike liars and traitors, My goal is to be the strongest of my clan, so I can beat the crap out of my sister and drag her back home so she can pay for the shit that she had done!" Naruto was not that surprised at all, to him it would be weird if she suddenly became merciful and compassionate, she was ever the avenger it seems.
The one thing that did catch him by surprise is that she didn't mention wanting to reestablish her clan, but that was when Sakura told her that since medical training is part of the academy curriculum, this means many of the Uchiha were actually able to survive the massacre, so, in reality, the only two clans that had technically low populations were the Senju and the Uzumaki. Kakashi admitted that was true, his clan had more members than those two clans, as for when they included medical training as part of the academy lessons, that was since the Second Shinobi World War. It was spearheaded by the clan of the current Hokage, Tsunade Senju.
"Well as lovely as that introduction is, I have to tell you something, tomorrow on Field Seven, we are doing a team exam, and if you fail, you will be sent back to the academy for more training, and before you tell me you already graduated, that test is only given to see if you are ready to take the next test."
Kakashi actually expected them to complain, but was shocked to see they said nothing at all, like they were not surprised at all, "Anyways, the test is tomorrow at seven in the morning, and some advice, don't eat breakfast or you will throw it up." He vanished like they had been talking to a shadow clone this entire time, both Sakura and Sarada were about to ask Naruto what he thought of the test but as they turned to look at him he disappeared in an orange flash.
"What the fuck, he just took off using a Hirashin, how the hell does Naruto know how to do that, in none of my memories he could ever pull that off! That does it, we need to tell Lady Tsunade, this is not like we saw in those memories and she would want to know." Sarada said this as she and Sakura began to walk towards the Hokage's office, Sakura was sure that Sarada was right, this was something the Hokage needed to listen to.
As they made it to the Hokage building, they were trying to come up with an explanation of what they saw, in such a way that it wouldn't get Naruto into any trouble because deep down they were actually worried about him, they came to the desk of the secretary, Shizune told them she was waiting for them already so step right in. They saw something neither was expecting Tsunade was holding a crystal ball and looking at both of them with a smile. "So Naruto finally began to show his hidden cards, good, don't worry girls, I know, he had been doing some crazy training with his mom, and yes he somehow found where she was recuperating after the Kyuubi Incident, and yes, I saw everything that happened with your introductions."
Sarada saw the crystal ball and knew how she did it, it was the same way as Hiruzen used to do to keep an eye on the ninja of his village. "If anything I was more shocked that he knew who his parents are and how he is related to Kakashi, yes, he was adopted by Naruto's parents before he was born, after his actual father committed suicide, so that means he probably knows even more than he lets on. I swear the way he dressed made me think I was seeing a young version of the Fourth Hokage, and then he pulled that Hirashin, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that happen."
As soon as she said this she began to relax in her seat. "The truth is girls, I don't think that is the only thing he has been keeping secret from others, Hirashin is only one of the skills of his father, Rasengan, and his mother's fighting style, not to mention learns to use Chakra chains like her, but the real thing to fear is his father has a copy of the Toad Summon Contract. So he might have already signed it or worse." Sakura told her it would be impossible for anyone to master sage arts in only seven days.
Tsunade told her that was technically not true at all, Naruto is an Uzumaki so naturally his chakra capacity is large but having grown up containing the nine tails, his chakra capacity is immense it could be large enough to consider equal to a Kage level, so with that much chakra and he makes as many shadow clones as possible, it is not outside the realm of possibility for him to advance his sage arts training immensely if not outright master it.
"You might not want to think of it and want him to be the same guy from your memories, but clearly he is not the same, he is more confident, and will stand up for himself, he even was able to talk after Kakashi tried to do that bogus introduction. He doesn't talk like a rookie Genin, and he doesn't seem to be the same guy who loved to pull pranks and joke around either, he is serious." That made them realize that maybe the Naruto they were seeing actually had some sort of dreams like they did, and thus with that knowledge he decided to improve all his shortcomings as they and the other girls who had those weird dreams did. He never jokes around or pulls as many pranks as they remember seeing in those dreams, but he was serious and focused on his training, and he was by far no pushover, if someone picked a fight with him, they would receive one hell of a beating, the fight against Mizuki proved it.
The guy was given the class title of being the worst of the class, but in reality, they knew Naruto secretly trained more than anyone, after these memories, and him being able to use shadow clones, neither Sakura nor Sarada knew the level of his skills, he defeated a Chuunin when he was considered an academy dropout. The talk with Tsunade made them realize that he might have even more skills they didn't even know or had considered possible. The fact is this Naruto was a complete mystery to them and that is also why they wanted to tell Tsunade to hear what she thought of him, since even if others deny it, they knew she was keeping an eye on the training they and the other ninja were doing.
As they left the Hokage's office decided to talk about the test they were going to have to go through, they began to talk as they walked down towards the places where they lived, the place Sakura lived with her parents, but Sarada lived with her mother in her family home. Sakura told Sarada that the test was going to be the bell test just like they saw in their dreams. They already knew what the test was all about, but they wanted to find out more about how skilled Naruto was compared to the one they saw in their dreams. Naruto was getting home when he realized that he needed to prepare something extra especially to face Kakashi during the test, he knew that the two bells were not ordinary bells, since no matter how they were shaken they would not ring. He decided to use some of the training he got from both of his parents as he prepared several explosive tags each with a special effect. The fact is that he also decided to prepare a little something extra to make sure everyone had the extra energy needed for the test, he hunted something extremely special in the forest of death, and with it, he prepared something most would consider simple beef jerky, but this stuff was nothing as mundane as that, it was a recipe that had been passed down from his mother's side of the family.
He woke up the next morning and ate a healthy breakfast knowing the whole skip breakfast suggestion was more than likely a trap, to make sure they did not have enough strength and that they were distracted by their hunger, it was not unexpected for Kakashi to do that, he has failed every single team that took this particular test, and it was not difficult for Naruto to understand that he wanted them to fail, so he didn't have to train them at all. Having to be in charge of this team would take him away from reading his precious books, and Kakashi loved reading that series. If anyone knew him, they know he was one of the biggest fans of the literary works of Jiraiya, the only one who was a bigger fan was the Third Hokage, but that might be because he was his team instructor when Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru were his genin students.
He knew where they were supposed to meet, and he also knew Kakashi would arrive late, so seeing both girls nervous he greeted them with a friendly hello and a smile that made both quite surprised, as he handed them each a piece of homemade jerky, they both thanked him for the snack as the three began to eat it and wait for Kakashi to arrive. Kakashi did not like what he was seeing, he told them not to each breakfast and here they were talking about things he didn't appreciate while eating a snack. What were they talking about? The many flaws in the entire Icha Icha Series. Both of the girls were laughing since he was very accurate and while he criticized the books, Naruto was not being disrespectful, he was giving an accurate assessment of the books and what he considered the flaws in them.
Kakashi finally had enough and jumped down and glared at the three of them still eating their snack, "I told you three to not eat breakfast, and here you are eating, why would do do this?" Sarada told Kakashi that what he said was not an order it was a suggestion, and Naruto was cleaning his right ear and simply asked if Kakashi said anything.
