Jamie and Eddie came back from their honeymoon and settled into a routine of going to work and coming home. It wasn't until almost a month later, Eddie noticed something was off. She couldn't put her finger on it. But today it was particularly bothersome. She'd been able to ignore how she'd been feeling up until this moment. It was the end of shift, her and Officer Stevenson were changing out of their uniforms in the ladies locker room when she felt it again. That wave of dizziness. She chalked it up to needing to eat something. That maybe it was just her sugar dipping. Amanda looked at her with concern.

"You ok Eddie. You look a little pale."

Eddie brushed it off and tried to get to her feet.

"I'm fine."

Before Eddie could hear Amanda's response, darkness came up to meet her quickly. Amanda was quick pull Eddie's head into her lap before it could connect with the concrete floor below her. Looking towards the door, she yelled for help.

"HEY! I need some help in here! Call a bus!?"

A group of female officers entered the locker room and began helping Amanda. Meanwhile outside, some of the male officers looked on. They knew they weren't allowed in the ladies locker room unless it was an emergency. One called out to Officer Stevenson.

"Bus is on its way Stevenson. Is she breathing?"

Amanda nodded and answered.

"She's got a strong pulse and she's breathing."

Meanwhile across town, Jamie was putting another chart on his large stack he was currently going through. He had a little down time and needed to go through his charts when a nurse came into the break room with a worried expression on her face.

"Doctor Reagan, there's a bus two minutes out."

Jamie put his pen down on the chart he was working on and looked the nurse in the eye.

"There's something that your not telling me Sabrina."

Sabrina gave a tight smile, although the worried expression stayed on her face.

"It's your wife."

Jamie quickly vacated his seat and left his charts unattended and rushed out of the break room. He immediately started asking lots of questions.

"How bad is she?"

Sabrina shook her head.

"Didn't get many details over the air."

Jamie took a deep breath. He had to remain professional. Eddie would be fine. His mind kept going through all the possible things that could be wrong with her. But he had to put the brakes on that train of thought when the EMT's rolled in with Eddie in tow on a stretcher. Another doctor and more nurses crowded around Eddie as the EMT's moved down the hallway with her. Jamie quickly followed them.

"Eddie. I'm right here."

Jamie knew he couldn't be in the trauma room with them as they checked her out. It would be a conflict of interest and he would be too close. So, all he could do was wait. Going back to the break room, he sat down in the chair and tried to work on his charts, but he couldn't move past the line that listed the amount of magnesium given to the last patient he'd seen nearly four hours ago.

".4 of Magnesium…"

He hadn't noticed Sabrina come into the room until she was right next to him.

"Doctor Reagan. I don't mean to interrupt, but Doctor Carollson has Eddie settled into a room upstairs."

Jamie furrowed his eyebrows.

"Upstairs? Why is she upstairs? Did something happen?"

Jamie was in panic mode again and rushed out of the break room. Slowing his pace as he got onto the elevator, he knew he had to calm his nerves. It wasn't until he got to Eddie's room and entered that his worry melted away and concern replaced it. He went straight to her bedside and sat down in the chair.

"Babe, what happened?"

Eddie was asleep. He hadn't noticed that Doctor Carollson was in the room with him until she spoke up.

"Jamie. She's fine. Better than fine actually. I'd say congratulations are in order. You're going to be a dad."

Jamie's eyes lit up, but then worry began to cloud them again and he voiced his concerns.

"She's ok right? There was no cramping or bleeding?"

Doctor Carollson shook her head no at Jamie.

"Jamie she's fine. She should be awake in a few minutes. I just to want take a quick ultrasound so I can see how far along she is."

Jamie nodded and looked to Eddie as she took a breath and slowly opened her eyes.

"Jamie? What happened? What am I doing here?"

Doctor Carollson stepped in before Jamie could answer.

"Hi Eddie. I'm Doctor Carollson. You're in the hospital because you lost consciousness, and you were a little dehydrated. Feeling dizzy and passing out is normal during your first trimester."

It dawned on Eddie. It all made sense now.

"I'm pregnant. I had a hunch, but I wasn't sure. How far along am I?"

Doctor Carollson gave Eddie a warm smile.

"That's what I'm about to find out. I'm going to get a quick ultrasound just to see where we're at."

Eddie pushed the covers back and started to lift part of her hospital gown. Doctor Carollson shook her head.

"The test results showed your less than six weeks. An abdominal ultrasound wouldn't give a very accurate reading right now. The one I'm going to perform is a little more invasive."

Eddie bit her lip and nodded. Jamie never left her side. Kissing her forehead, he kept her calm.

"I know that's uncomfortable babe. Just relax. I'm right here."

The couple turned their attention to the screen on the ultrasound machine. Jamie's eyes lit up. He pointed to the screen with his pinky finger.

"You see that little blob there honey? That's our baby."

Eddie squinted and then smiled.

"I see it. That's our baby. How come I don't hear a heartbeat."

Doctor Carollson smiled and reassured her.

"The baby is perfectly healthy. It just means it's too soon to hear it yet. Looks like your about 4 weeks. I want to schedule another appointment for you to come in three weeks. I want you to start taking it easy. I have no idea what the rules are regarding pregnant officers and desk duty, I'd check with your CO. Eat a healthy and balanced diet, get plenty of rest and stay hydrated. No more coffee. I'll have you rest for another hour and then we'll discharge you. I'll see the two of you in three weeks."

Jamie shook hands with Doctor Carollson.

"Thanks Jenna."

Doctor Carollson gave a small smile.

"Your welcome Jamie, and again congratulations."

After the door closed, Jamie kissed Eddie on the lips softly and put his forehead against hers.

"We're having a baby."
