Eddie had just arrived at Saint Victor's and was in the process of being transferred up to a room up on the fourth floor. She was being re-hydrated with saline and on nasal oxygen. She raised a left hand and pointed at Jamie.

"Jamie, can you go to the nursery and make sure Cora gets settled? Please?"

Jamie kissed Eddie's forehead and nodded.

"Of course, babe. I'll come be with you in a few minutes, ok?"

Eddie nodded and let go of Jamie's hand.

"I want to feed her. Make sure the nurses know that."

Jamie gave a giggle and walked with a few doctors and other nurses.

"So bossy."

Eddie threw a smirk Jamie's way.

"Yeah right."

Jamie was only gone a few minutes, but he was back with Eddie and stayed by her side. Doctor Carollson looked at her and smiled.

"Eddie. I heard you gave birth to that beautiful baby girl. What's her name?"

Eddie smiled as Doctor Carollson got down to business.

"Cora Rene Janko-Reagan. Might drop the hyphenate though. Not sure yet."

Jamie locked eyes with Doctor Carollson.

"How bad is the damage?"

Doctor Carollson kept her eyes locked on Jamie's.

"Jamie, relax. She only needed five stitches. That's barely any trauma."

Jamie gave Doctor Carollson a small smile.

"I brought that healthy little girl into the world. I thought at one point I'd have to perform an episiotomy, but it didn't come to that."

Doctor Carollson looked at Jamie and shook her head. Eddie only rolled her eyes at Jamie.

"Jamie, don't turn into your brother Danny."

Jamie looked at Eddie and shook his head.

"I'm nothing like Danny. He's sarcastic, do you see me as sarcastic?"

Eddie shook her head no.

"Of course not."

Doctor Carollson smiled at Eddie.

"Everything looks good Eddie. As I was telling your husband here, barely any trauma and only 5 stitches. We'll keep you here overnight. I'll have a nurse bring Cora to in right now. I know your eager to start breastfeeding her."

It wasn't until Doctor Carollson left and Jamie fixed the blankets around her, Eddie finally broke down. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her hair.

"It's ok babe. I'm right here. It's all over now. Marty isn't going to hurt us or anyone else every again. You're safe. Cora's safe. We're all safe."

Eddie swiped at her tears as she heard the door open, and a nurse come in with a very fussy Cora. Jamie helped Eddie pull down her hospital gown so that Cora could get to her meal. The nurse placed Cora into her arms smiled, giving Eddie instructions.

"Make sure her mouth latches on. There we go. You see her little jaw moving? She's suckling. Looks like this girl knows what she's doing. I'll let the two of you have some privacy and get to know one another."

Jamie smiled and thanked the nurse.

"Thanks Sabrina."

Eddie arched her eyebrow at Jamie.

"That's Sabrina?"

Jamie made a face.

"Yes. But she works with Doctor Sanson. I really thought Mara would bring her in. But I think she's off today."

Eddie was careful not to jostle Cora. Jamie sat in awe and watched his baby girl have her first meal. He ran a gentle hand over her head, which was surprisingly full of brown hair. Eddie made a face as she saw Cora stop suckling.

"Why'd she stop?"

Jamie gave her a smile.

"Newborns get sleepy when they eat. Just tickle the bottom of her foot and she'll start suckling again."

Supporting Cora with her right arm, she took her left hand and tickled her foot with her index finger. Cora made noise and started eating again. Jamie kissed Cora's head again and then Eddie's.

"You two are the most important things in my life. I know your not really keen on the idea of having this baby girl's last name hyphenated, so when they asked about what name we wanted on her birth certificate I told them to drop the Janko-Reagan and just put Reagan as the last name."

Eddie smiled up at Jamie.

"Thank-you babe. Besides. It's kind of long. I mean, when we enroll her in school when she's older, could imagine writing on every form: Cora Rene Janko-Reagan? It's kind of long winded. This way with it shortened to just Reagan, it would take less time to write it down."

Jamie chewed on the last part of Eddie's conversation.

"It wouldn't matter to me if her last name was hyphenated or not. Just as long as she's healthy. But your right, it does make sense if her name were hyphenated it would take longer to write it out on forms. It's why I changed it to Reagan. You'll always have my vote sweetheart."

Eddie smiled and met Jamie halfway, getting a soft warm kiss from him. Pulling away, she spoke up.

"Thanks for being there for me Jamie. I never told you, in all the chaos of being stuck in that warehouse and then me going into labor, I was really scared. I was scared that something was going to happen to us. But you made sure that we both made it through labor and delivery. I'm glad I had a doctor on my side."

Jamie put a hand on Eddie's back and ran large comforting strokes over it.

"I would've helped you deliver this beautiful baby girl, whether I was a doctor or not. You two are alive and healthy. That's what matters. I'm here for the both of you not matter what. Always know that."

Eddie nodded and smiled down at Cora, she was now sleeping. Jamie carefully helped her fix her gown and took Cora from Eddie's arms.

"Hi baby girl. It's daddy. You are so beautiful. You've got your mommy's eyebrows. Is that a Reagan smirk I already see? Uh oh."

Eddie sighed and gave a slight chuckle.

"I hope she has your patience Jamie. You know I don't have that."

Jamie looked at Eddie and shook his head.

"You're too hard on yourself Eddie. You'll gain patience as we raise this baby girl together. That's a promise. You two are the most important things in the world to me. Ready to introduce her to the rest of the family?"

Eddie nodded and watched as Jamie went over towards the door with Cora in his arms. He then let the first-person in.
