Heyo everyone! Apologies for not getting this out over the weekend or even yesterday for that matter. Just irl things as usual along with getting invested in a video game that I've been playing over the past two days. Either way hope you enjoy this chapter!
Over on the other side of town, a couple of the police officers along with some power line workers had come out to the senior center to investigate and hopefully repair the blown transmissions to get the power back on for everyone.
"Should have known it was you again, Pickles." One officer said shaking his head
"Aha, sorry about that." Stu sheepishly apologized rubbing the back of his head
"Luckily the damage isn't too major, the electric boys are all out checking transformers but the power should be back on for everyone slowly but surely." The officer explained
As if on cue, the lights flickered and returned into the senior center as everyone clambered in relief that they could see once again along with a couple of the buildings in the surrounding area. One by one, groups of neighborhoods' power began returning as many halloween decorations began lighting up and coming back to life.
"Next time, try and watch the voltage, Pickles. You know some of these grids can't handle that amount of electricity." Another officer sighed
"Yes sir! Apologies again for the mess." Stu saluted before rubbing the back of his head
With that the officers headed out of the senior center; They wanted to go around and make sure that no one was injured from the sudden outages across the city. Back over with the Rugrats, they had finally made their way out of the McNulty's house and out into the front yard once again.
"Guys, there you are!" Susie called out to the group, waving to them from the curb of the sidewalk where she and Angelica were waiting
"Uh huh, we founded the stickers!" Kimi cheered
"Even after all the lights went out too." Lil added in
Making their way over to Angelica and Susie, Tommy walked over to Angelica with the box of bandaids in hand. Opening the box, Tommy then removed one of the bandages from inside of it as he fiddled with the paper plastic covering the sticky ends of the bandage.
"Here Angelica, now you won't turns into a werewuff no more." Tommy reassured, placing the bandaid on his cousin's hand wound
"Yeah yeah, sure whatever, you dumb babies believe anything. I wasn't going to turn into a werewolf anyway." Angelica rolled her eyes, moving her hand away from the toddler
Even if she didn't want to admit it, having the bandaid there did make her feel slightly better. Especially now that anymore blood that escaped the wound wouldn't get all over her Cynthia costume.
"Minis, there you are! So glad you're okay, you all had me worried for a second there!" Taffy rushed over from the backyard gate over to the group, still pushing Samayah in her stroller
"Don't worry Taffy, we're all a-okay." Susie assured the babysitter
"Good to know you and Angelica have the minis under control, Susie. Britannica and I were worried when the lights went out." Taffy grinned
"When will lights come back on?" Chuckie decided to ask, still disliking how eerily dark it had gotten in the neighborhood
"Hopefully soon, Chuckie. Don't worry though, you're safe here." Taffy answered with a small chuckle, patting Chuckie's head. "If they don't come back soon, we might have to cancel that small show my band and I were going to put on in a bit." Taffy let out a sigh
Meanwhile, Britannica had finally rounded up all the McNulty boys as they too came out to the front of the yard with Taffy and the others.
"Hoo boy, these six are a handful for sure." Britannica chuckled watching the boys wrestle each other on the front lawn
"Yeah, but they're still the sweetest." Taffy added in which Angelica could only scoff and roll her eyes at the thought of the McNulty boys being "sweet".
Just then, the lights slowly began coming back on around the neighborhood, including the McNulty's house as the many cheers and giggles of children began returning life to the neighborhood.
"Lights back!" Kimi cheered out loud
"Lets go, that's awesome, looks like we won't have to cancel that show after all." Taffy beamed, watching the haunting decorations that littered the McNulty home turn back on. "Oh, speaking of that, we should probably get that set up soon?" Taffy inquired, looking to Britannica
"Yeah, it'll be time for you guys to perform before you know it. Let's get these Tikes back in the back with us and we can make sure everything is set." Britannica answered
"Right-o! Come on minis, we're going to the backyard." Taffy ushered the toddlers through the backyard gate.
Britannica also rounded up and ushered the McNulty brother's into the backyard as well. Once both groups were in the back, Taffy and Britannica shut the gate and began setting up the stage.
"Still think it was nice of the boy's mother to allow you to perform in their yard." Britannica chuckled
"I know right, Colleen is great." Taffy giggled
Meanwhile over with the Rugrats and McNulty boys each group was mostly minding their own business as the McNulty's continued their wrestling match amongst themselves. Tanner, however, ran over to the group not long after.
"Has the meanie turn into a werewuff yet?" Tanner asked, glaring at Angelica
"No, and she's not gonna, we gotted her a sticky to stop her from turning into one." Tommy replied
"Hey! You used our Reptar stickies, give those back!" Tanner screamed which of course alerted the attention of the other brothers
"Hey, what do you think you're doing to our little brother?" Timmy called out, coming over to investigate
"We didn't do nothing, your brother bit me!" Angelica retorted, showing off the bandage covered wound on her hand
"You said his costume was dumb. I think that counts as something." Timmy crossed his arms
"And and, they tookeded our Reptar stickies from the potty room!" Tanner added in
"So?" Angelica shrugged
"Angelica, at least apologize for calling his costume dumb." Susie insisted
"No way, he should apologize to me for biting me!" Angelica frowned
"Guys! This isn't gonna get us nowheres! This is apposed to be Hallomean, we're apposed to be having fun not fighting with each others." Tommy spoke up, stepping between Angelica and Tanner
"How about, if Angelica says sorry for saying Tanner's costume is dumb then he says sorry for biting hers?" Dil suggested
"Yeah, then we can go back to having funs!" Savannah added in, agreeing with Dil
"Sounds like a good idea to mes." Susie also agreed
"But but..." Both Angelica and Tanner both clambered.
"Guys!" Kimi frowned, placing her hands on her hips
"Ugh, fine, sorry for biting yous." Tanner scoffed, rolling his eyes
"Yeah yeah...I guess, sorry for saying your dumb baby costume is dumb." Angelica half apologized as she turned towards Susie and the others "Happy now?"
Susie in particular sighed knowing that was probably the best they were all going to get from Angelica.
"Well now that that's over who wants to pretends to be like our costumes?" Dil suggested to lighten the mood
"Yeah!" Kimi exclaimed
"That sounds like lots of funs." Lil also agreed
"Just no more actually biting people's though." Dil said, looking to Tanner
"Whatever." Tanner scoffed, crossing his arms
With that each of the two groups began playing together, pretending to be what they were dressed as. It wasn't before long that another hour had passed as many people began gathering in the McNulty's backyard to watch Taffy and her band perform a Halloween themed mini concert. Everyone began jumping and dancing about the backyard as Taffy performed as it went on for another hour.
Soon the concert had come to an end as everyone began departing slowly but surely while Taffy, Britannica, and the other band members cleaned up around the performance area in the backyard a bit. Of course by then, each of the kids were growing tired from the exciting evening as the McNulty's were soon led off to bed by Britannica while Taffy took the Rugrats back to Tommy's place to be picked up by their parents. Least to say, at least in Savannah's and Dil's opinions, that was the most fun time they had for Halloween!
