The woman had always been an enigmatic woman, with her long, thin, white hair. How it was just long enough to flow down her back like some sort of ghostly vile, how her voice resonated with an air of authority. She was a paradox, capable of possessing both beauty and kindness, yet there were moments in time where her true nature would emerge, and once it did, it was always capable of shattering his heart. In those instances, she'd transform into his worst nightmare, a literal manifest of his deepest fears. Gradually, the boy began to realize over time that his mother was perpetually consumed by anger and rage, and because of that anger and rage, the boy often found himself a target to her unfortunate wrath. It started innocently enough at first, with her simply belittling him for his childish carelessness. But how was he supposed to behave? He was just a child. Her child. However, the abuse exiled, culminating in a horrifying incident that nearly claimed his life. Who would have guessed that day would come so soon. The day when his mother would commit the most unforgivable of acts committed. She'd seized a kitchen knife, her once beautiful, and soft, blue eyes, now filled with a chilling determination as she strolled herself into the boy's bedroom. How the fear had instantly taken grip on the boy as his mother mercifully and without hesitation, stabbed the knife repeatedly into him, going and going until her grip on the hilt of the knife was weakening, till her hand began to ache and she could no longer hold onto it. The blade had pierced through the boy's stomach, emerging on the other side of his body. However the boy, with the leftover strength he'd been able to wrestle her away from him, just as the loud banging, followed by heavy footsteps came from down the hallway, approaching.

''Maria! What the hell have you done?!''

It was his father. He'd come to rescue him.

''What does it look like?!'' Maria's eyes widened with a crazed look as she struggled against her own madness. He had never seen her like this before, and it terrified him. He could feel her heart racing above his head, almost like the room was radiating with her crazed madness, and he knew something was very wrong here. ''Maria, what are you talking about?'' he asked, his voice shaking with fear. Maria simply glared at him, her eyes filled with a dark, sinister, energy. As she hissed through bared teeth. ''The child, the devil's child. He's here, in our house!'' Maria was shouting now, lips curling, teeth seen crunching down on something invisible, as she turned to the man she claimed to love, with a horror of absolute horror. The woman standing before him, was not the Maria he had proposed to. Her eyes were dark and menacing, and her voice was laced with an eerie tone. As he looked into her eyes, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. This woman had just stabbed their child. Suddenly though, Maria leaned in close and whispered. ''If I kill the devil's child, will it stop you?'' His heart raced as he realized the gravity of her words. Why was she doing this to them? He couldn't keep from tearing his gaze away from her pericing stare, unsure how to proceed. The air was thick, and he knew that something sinister was brewing. With a crazed look on her entire face, Maria lunged towards the kitchen knife that lay on the ground. With her heart pounding in her chest as she envisioned the freedom that awaited her once she had completed her mission. ''Yes, yes, yes!'' she screamed, her voice echoing through the empty kitchen. ''That's what I'm going to do, I'm going to kill the devil's child and free myself!'' Her finance, trembling with fear, begged her to stop. ''Maria, please stop this madness!'' he tried to plead. However it was clear Maria was beyond all reason. ''You know me, this isn't you?'' he cried. ''You told me you loved me, you told me you'd accept me when we agreed to get married. And you told me you'd love our child. Why now do you call me a devil!''

''Because no god should be allowed to reproduce. There is no room on earth for the child of a saint.''

''Maria...''

''I've seen the darkness that lurks within the offspring of the divine. The power they wield, the destruction they bring to the world. We cannot risk it. We cannot allow this child to live any longer. He should have died in my womb.'' Maria's words hung heavy in the air, her eyes now filled with a fear that literally had his bones frozen. ''How could you possibly say that about your own son?!'' Her voice trembled with emotion as she continued to confront her husband. ''You can't predict the future, Maria. You haven't even given him a chance to prove you wrong.'' Maria seemed to pause at this, taking a deep breath. ''With our guidance, he could become a kind and wise man.'' Maria's eyes seemed to narrow, her expression going cold and unyielding as if she wasn't having any of her husbands words. ''Maria, don't give up on him just yet,'' said her husband, his voice filled with emotion. ''With our guidance, he could become a kind and wise man.'' Maria's eyes narrowed at this, her expression turning cold and unyielding. But her husband wouldn't give up on her, or his son. ''Listen to what i am about to tell you,'' he pleaded. ''I was once alone in this world, with no parents to guide me. I thought I was going to die out there. However a kind old man took a chance on me. He saved me from a life of despair. He raised me as his own, and taught me everything I know. We can do the same for him. We just have to keep wiring his story-''

''I've heard enough.''

In a moment of complete and utter madness, Maria had managed to retrieve the kitchen knife from the floor, staring at it now, as it took possession in her husband's chest. Maria stood frozen, watching as the man's gasping breaths filled the room. His face contorted with terror as he crumbled to the floor, a pool of blood seeping from his body. In a flash, a dazzling beam of purple light filled the cramped bedroom, whipping up with a fierce gust that nearly toppled Maria. Before she could even re-claim her lost breath, another surge of the same eerie light slammed into her, hurtling her across the room and into the nearest bedroom wall. Darkness descended as she lost consciousness, leaving the air thick with an ominous sense of foreboding. Suddenly, a sharp gasp pericing the silence, signaling the return of life to this new strange and mysterious world.

''Mama,''

''Papa?''
