Sienna had a barrage of conflicting emotions as she made her way back to the cabin. While she appreciated the comfort of the t-shirt he had given her, she couldn't shake off the distress she felt concerning the scars that covered Seiya's body. It was hard for her to fathom the experiences he must have endured. She pondered whether these marks were inflicted by hunters that discovered his true nature and had intentions to hunt him down. Was his life reduced to constantly running and hiding? The thought of his parents being killed by these hunters to leave him an orphan at such a tender age was a possibility that also plagued her mind. But she couldn't think about it too much, otherwise she could feel the tears starting to run from her eyes. Following that, she would allocate the next few hours to cook dinner for him, making a valiant effort to set aside those thoughts. She was unwilling to prob further and unsettle him, although at the same time, she couldn't deny that she was fascinated with him, even more now after discovering that he wasn't a human. But a saint.
Finally after three long hours, she was finished cooking. Quickly she loaded everything up on a small tray. The meal was small for how long it had taken her to prepare it, but she'd just wanted to make sure everything was perfect. The small meal consisted of a bowl of tomato soup, with a sprinkle of grated cheese on top, and on the side for later sat a crusty baguette with a small spread of butter. She carefully picked up the tray and exited the cabin, but as soon as she caught the gaze of Cassios, her foster father, her emotions overwhelmed her. "Oh, Cassios! I wasn't anticipating your arrival today. I presumed you were working a two night shift at the nightclub?" she said nervously, her fingertips shrinking, though she was careful to keep the tray from falling from her hands, just as they started becoming sweaty.
He stared at the scrumptious meal on her tray and asked, "Little lamb, is this dinner brought by you for me?"
''No, I thought I'd eat outside for a change. It's an awfully beautiful night tonight.'' she lied, try as she may to push past him. However Cassios had always been a well built one, tall and strong. So he was carefully able to push her back with zero effort. ''Why would you want to do that? Don't you know their are so many bugs out here at night, do you want to wake up covered in bites the next morning?'' he asked, attempting to push her further into the house, the might of his heavy boots causing the bowl of soup to rattle a little, which worried Sienna. Last thing she wanted was to see her three hour meal fall. ''Please let me pass, Cassios. I really need to go outside and get some fresh air, I've working non-stop for three hours. And it's so hot in the cabin.'' Sienna pleaded as she tried to wriggle out of his grip. Cassios smirked, knowing full well what that Sienna would never win a physical confrontation against him. So he overall was greatly enjoying messing with her like this. ''You can't go outside right now, Sienna. Like I told you, the bugs are quite pesky this time of year. You don't want to get bitten and get sick,'' he said calmly.
Sienna found herself annoyed with Cassios. She had lived in this area for a long time now, and knew that the bugs were never this bothersome as Cassios tried to make them seem. It was clear he just didn't want her to do something he didn't pass on. She knew Cassios was just trying to keep her trapped in the house. ''Cassios, I think I can handle the bugs. Please just move,'' Sienna said with a firmer tone of voice, still hopeful that she could convince him to move, rather than having to get physical. She was suddenly taken aback by Cassios grip on her arm. Winching, her soup bowl shook violently, and she was forced to watch in absolute horror as the contents splattered all over Cassios' clothing as well as the floor. ''You stupid girl! Look what you've done! You couldn't have just shut up and listened to me? Could you!'' Cassios roared in rage. Sienna quickly realized that she had made a grave mistake, however she was desperate to get out to Seiya, so she desperately tried to calm Cassios down, by motioning for him to come into the house, apologizing as she strolled towards the bucket, which houses a small wash cloth, which acted as their kitchen sink. ''I'm so sorry father, please let me clean this up,'' she said in a meek voice. Sienna knew she had to act fast if she wanted to escape from the dangerous situation she knew it would turn into, if she didn't act super fast.
''Sienna, come over here, please.'' he said, his voice clearly still shaking with rage. Sienna slowly nodded, allowing the wet cloth to hit the contents in the bucket, as she strolled over to her father's side. ''What are you doing! Did I tell you to leave that cloth behind?!'' he shouted. ''Oh, I'm sorry.'' she replied, as she quickly jogged over to the bucket, her hand holding a firm grip around the cloth, as she quickly dipped it in, watching as it was submerged in the water, then she was right back at his side. Carefully she took the small cloth, dappling drops of the water on the really bad stains, as Cassios watched her movements carefully, making sure she didn't skip on any of them. ''I have a question for you, dear daughter. And I expect truthful answers. Are you ready to hear my question?'' her father asked, his tone suspicious.
''Absolutely, father.'' she replied while she continued to diligently stub away at the stubborn stains, until her fingers were literally starting to throb after only a few seconds of performing the act. ''Who is in this house with you?''
''I don't understand the question, father It's only us here, you and me. That's what you mean, right?'' she asked, stumbling over her words, as anxiety started to creep up on her, causing her pulse to race in her ears. ''Tell me why you're lying to me. All I asked was for the truth!'' he started, angrily, forcefully grabbing her arm, as he dragged her upright, his breath reeking of pure alcohol, as the scent brushed against her cheek.
Sienna winced in pain as her father's grip tightened on her arm. She tried to pull away but his grasp was too strong. "Father, please, I'm not lying. It's just us," she said, her voice shaking with fear. "I swear to you." "Don't you dare lie to me!" he shouted, his face contorted with anger. "There's someone else in this house, I can feel it. I can smell it. It's probably that boy you met at the nightclub, the one I told you to stay away from! Is that it, Sienna?!'' Sienna's heart sank as she slowly connected the dots, realizing what it was he was talking about. It hadn't taken him long to realize that was really what was going on here. However there was no way he would hear the truth come out of her mouth. She would lie till the cows came home. ''There's no one else here, father. I swear to you!'' she said, desperately trying to convince him. ''I swear on my mother's life.'' But her father was too far gone in his rage to listen to reason. He tightened his grip on her arm even further, his fingers digging into her skin. Sienna cried out in pain, tears streaming down her face. ''Don't you dare swear on your mother.'' he hissed between clenched teeth.
Just then, there was a loud knock at the door. Both Sienna and her father froze, looking at each other in terror. Who could it be? And would they be able to help her escape this nightmare? Sienna's heart began to race as her father cautiously moved towards the cabin door, still holding tightly onto the grip he had on her arm. She could hear the sound of his heavy footsteps echoing off the ceiling from the outside, which seemed to cause her father's grip to tighten even more. With a sharp tug, he violently pulled the door open, revealing a tall, broad - shouldered man standing behind it. ''Good evening, sir,'' the stranger said with an uneasy smile. ''Oh! and good evening to you as well, miss,'' He said, addressing Sienna. ''I was just wondering if you had a few minutes to talk to me.'' Cassios's eyes narrowed as he glared at the man, his fingers still gripping Sienna's arm tightly. ''Who are you?'' he said gruffly. The man behind the door didn't seem the slightest intimidated, calmly replying with ''My name is Jacob. I'm a private investigator. I've been hired to investigate a series of crimes that have been reported in this area. I was told that there were some people who despite all of the chaos, still live around here. I thought maybe you might have some information that could be useful to me.''
Sienna's heart was pounding as she watched the interaction between the two men, closely. She couldn't believe her luck. Was this the answer to her prayers? A chance to escape from her abusive father and this hellish life, if she could run fast enough she could regroup with Seiya. As her father started to grudgingly let go of her arm, Sienna knew there was her chance. Quickly she took advantage of her new found freedom, grabbing a small bag that she had packed up in case there was ever a chance to flee, and made a run for the front door, right before the officer and her father could even think to stop her.
''Wait! Come back here right now!'' she could hear her father's voice shouting at her from behind, but there was no way she was going to do that. She was free. Allowing the dirt to build up between her bare feet, she took off even faster, try as she may to remember the pathway she'd taken where she prayed Seiya would still be. Though it was dark now, and hard to see, she knew if she stopped now, that would be the end of everything. Even though there was difficulty, there was no stopping her.
As Sienna ran, she suddenly felt a sense of liberation she had never experienced before. She could hear the leaves rustling under her feet, and the sweet sound of her own breathing echoing in her ears as she glided past the trees. She had never been athletic and her lungs were burning, though she did partake in daytime jogs from time to time, she didn't look at it as anything special. ''Please let Seiya still be there.'' she prayed, her heart racing with anticipation. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, her ears picked up on the loud rainfall, as the faint outline of a person came into view. She couldn't believe it, she'd found it. The rainfall. ''Seiya?'' she called his name, altering him to her presence, as his brown eyes laid upon her. ''Sienna? Oh my god, what happened to you? Are you okay?''' he asked, rising to his feet. There she'd barely made it over to him, before collapsing in his arms. Seiya held her tightly, pulling her head against his chest, as he felt the tears roll down her cheeks, allowing her to cry and express her emotions freely, as she stuttered, try as she may to still get the story of what happened out. She told him about the argument with her father, and how she couldn't take it anymore. She expressed her desire to leave and start a new life. A new life that involved him.
''You still want to be with me, even after telling you what I am?'' he asked, utterly surprised. Seiya was completely taken aback as Sienna's arms wrapped tightly around him, dragging him into her, as she stared up at him with squinted eyes. ''Of course,'' she whispered, looking up at him with a sudden determination throughout both her eyes. ''I don't know if it's to soon to say this or not, but I like you. And I like you for who you are, not what you are. I may be just some native little girl who has no idea what real love looks like, but I know what thing. And that is that I want to be with you, no matter what happens.'' Seiya felt his heart race with happiness, as he held her cheeks, as the rain pour came down all around them. Where they stayed for a while, reveling in the comfort of each other's embrace just as Seiya whispered something against her cheek. ''I don't want to ever let you go.'' he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Seiya couldn't seem to keep the smile that appeared on his face from controlling his mouth, staring at her with the brightest smile he could produce. He had always known that he was different from other people, and by the looks of it, Sienna knew this as well.
''I made a decision,,'' he said taking a deep breath, as he steadied her shoulders so she could look at him better. ''I'm going to leave New York. I've always known that I don't belong here, and I won't pretend for another second that one day I might. I want to be who I am right now, and I want to do it with you if you'll come with me?''
''Leave New York? Wow, that's a lot. I hadn't thought I'd ever get to leave, so I didn't think I'd need to plan anything.'' She looked at him with a mixture of surprise and uncertainty. The thought of leaving New York, the city she had called home for so very long, seemed daunting. Yet, there was something in his eyes, a genuine determination and a longing for something more, that made her pause to consider his proposal. Taking a moment to gather her thoughts, she suddenly replied back with ''I never really imagined leaving, but if it means I get to stay with you, safe, that maybe it's worth considering. But where would we go? What would we do?''
Seiya smiled, relieved that she was at least open to the idea. ''I don't have all the answers just yet, but that's the beauty of it. We can create our own path, explore new places, and find our true purpose in life. And the best thing about all of it is, we won't have to suppress who we are anymore. It may be uncertain right now, but we can plan together, a dream together, and make this journey our own.'' Sienna's heart fluttered at the thought of embarking on such an adventure with him. The idea of leaving everything behind her was exhilarating but also terrifying, however deep down, she knew that staying in this place anymore would do more harm than good. ''I'm scared,'' she finally admitted, her voice quite. ''But I'm also tired of my father, I'm tired of feeling like I'm just surviving instead of truly living. Let's take this leap of faith together and discover what lies beyond New York.'' Softly he squeezed her hands gently, a reassurance passing between them. ''We'll figure it out step by step. We have each other, and that's what matters most. ''Are you ready to do this?''
As she gazed longingly into his bright brown eyes, her fear surely diminished, replaced by a glimmer of excitement for the possibilities that awaited them. Taking a deep breath, Sienna nodded, a loving smile spread out across her face. ''Yes. Let's leave this old city behind.'' As they held each other tightly, focusing on the warmth of their embrace, they knew they were finally being offered that chance at freedom. And with that the sky seemed to follow, clearing above them, just as the downpour around them, vanished. Seiya took Sienna's hand at his side, not looking back, as he guided her down the forest path. This was the beginning of their new chapter, one filled with love, adventure, and most importantly freedom. However, not everything can go without bumps in the road. Oblivious to them, they would not be traveling alone.
(Niven Kingdom)
The narrow hallway reverberated with the weighty thud of footsteps, resonating through a somber color scheme of midnight and ash, blending together to form an unappealing hue. As the enigmatic figure entered the dimly illuminated chamber, he instinctively lowered himself in a respectful bow before the shadowy presence seated before him. "You have summoned me?" he earnestly inquired, his resonant voice exuding a comforting warmth./ppIn the mysterious realm of Transylvania, the air was thick with anticipation as heavy footfalls echoed through the confined corridor. The walls, draped in a cloak of midnight and ash, seemed to absorb all light, casting an unattractive pallor upon the surroundings. With an air of intrigue, the enigmatic figure stepped into the dimly lit room, his every movement shrouded in an aura of secrecy. As he approached the shadowy figure seated before him, a sense of reverence compelled him to bow, acknowledging the power and authority emanating from the enigmatic presence."You have summoned me?" he inquired, his voice resonating with a deep timbre that seemed to wrap the room in a comforting embrace. The words hung in the air, laden with anticipation, as the figure awaited the response, ready to embark on a journey that would undoubtedly unravel the mysteries of this dark and enigmatic world.
"Ah, yes," croaked the mysterious figure. "I have a mission for you, my faithful servant. I wouldn't have called upon you if it weren't for the fact that this task can only be accomplished by you. It's a challenge, but I know you're up for it. Are you ready to prove your loyalty and skills? This is a chance to show me what you're made of. So, what do you say? Are you in?" The figure's eyes gleamed with anticipation as they waited for their servant's response. ''Of course my lord, I am at your service.'' he replied, bowing once more, readying himself to receive his master's commands. ''I have received word that a nobody mortal has formed a deep connection with our troublesome saint...''
''Seiya Zorro?'' the servant whispered, as he instantly recognized the name of the person in question.
''Yes, Seiya Zorro, his boss confirmed. ''We cannot allow him to continue his relationship with this nobody mortal. Something needs to be done about it, before it gets completely out of hand.''
''And what would you like to do about it, sir?''
''Sever it.'' The servant's eyes widened in shock. ''Sever it? But that's..''
''Necessary, I'm afraid. He's become a liability to our organization. His disobedience and recklessness have caused too much damage. It's time to cut ties with him once and for all. I mean what will we do if he reveals his secret to anymore mortals? We might have a uprising on our hands! All it takes it for one mortal to destroy everything we've worked for centuries to create!'' The servant seemed to hesitate at this, unsure of how to reply. He had never been in this type of situation before. But one thing was for certain, he didn't want to be involved in anything that could lead to someone's death. Even if that live was one of a supernatural, like himself. ''I...I'm not sure I can do that, sir. Especially to Seiya,'' he finally said, shaking his head, as he touched his face lightly with a black gloved hand.
''Don't tell me you've forgotten what happened thirteen years ago! There was a case involving the young Seiya! Don't tell me you've forgotten what we were forced to do!'' The servant's eyes widened in realization. He knew exactly what the man was referring to. Thirteen years ago, Seiya's father had revealed his supernatural identity to a young mortal girl, one he'd been crushing on for some time. Eventually, they were able to conceive, and deliver a small handsome boy. However, the happiness didn't last long. The wife, Maria, was her name, eventually lost her mind, she started to see her husband and her son has demons. Despite all attempts to cure what ever it was that was affecting her, nothing seemed to work...Only when Maria committed that gruesome act against her family did the council and I finally come up with a decision to erase her memories of her entire family and keep it like that forever. It was difficult, but because of us were able to save the boy before there could be any Irreversible damage done.'' The servant coughed uncomfortably, unsure of what to say. ''I...I remember what happened that day, sir...but what does it have to do with Seiya now? I don't understand, how likely is it for the past to repeat itself?''
''Oh you'd be surprised.'' the man sighed heavily, his eyes darkening with worry. ''I fear that the same thing could happen again if we don't intervene.''
''But Seiya has recovered since that, I don't even know if he still carries those memories with him. We wiped them away, did we not, sir? Besides he's been loyal to us and has never caused any harm intentionally. And besides, he's one of us,'' the servant reasoned, hoping to change the man's eyes. ''He may be supernatural like us, but he's not one of us. He's a saint, while we are vampires. That is not the same thing, my boy. I understand your loyalty to him, but you must see the bigger picture here. It's not just about Seiya, it's about protecting our kind while also looking out for other supernaturals. If we let this continue, it's only a matter of time before he causes irreparable damage, just like all those years ago.'' ''We cannot take that risk.''
The servant looked down at this, feeling utterly conflicted. He cared for Seiya deeply, but he also knew he had a duty to his kind. ''What do you suggest we do then, sir?'' he asked, hoping there was another solution. ''We need to send someone to keep a close eye on him, monitor his actions, make sure we don't lose him. We need to make sure he doesn't reveal himself to that girl. If this happens, I'm afraid we have no choice but to erase her memories...and..''
''And what?''
''I don't want to think about it yet, hopefully we're not there yet.'' The servant nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. He vowed to keep a watchful eye on Seiya and do whatever it takes to protect their kind. ''I'll head out immediately.'' As he left the room, his mind raced with thoughts of how this would all play out. He couldn't help but worry for Seiya, hoping that the past would not repeat itself and that he would be able to get to his friend before the past could. However he also knew what he had to do if things turned sour. He couldn't allow his emotions to cloud his judgement. He had a duty to fulfill, a duty to protect his own kind, while preventing any and all potential harm that could come to them because of Seiya's actions. He felt for the kid, truly he did, but he couldn't allow him a pass. So for starters, he had to get to him and talk to him...
