What's this? A chapter in the middle of the week! Yes, you're seeing correctly that I'm posting this on a late Tuesday evening. I had some vacation time left over so I've had Monday and Tuesday off as well in addition to my normal days off. Which means I had time to write up another chapter before having to return to work. Anyway I hope you all enjoy
After a few minutes had passed, Timmy sprinted his way back over to the group to tell them that the preparations for the last event were finally ready.
"Alright, babies who aren't in the final game can watch from the edge of the sandbox. Pickles brothers, Tanner and Savannah, follow mes to the starting line. And while you're at it, figure out which one of ya is gonna do the running and who's gonna try and hit the rocking horsey." Timmy instructed, taking the final two teams across the snow covered grass towards the sidewalk near the playset
The rest of the Rugrats, as instructed, made their way over to the sandbox near the playset taking their seats on the ledge of the box ready to cheer for their friends. As the two teams were walking with Timmy, they began talking amongst themselves to figure out the race placements.
"So which one of you guys is gonna run?" Dil asked Savannah and Tanner
"Well uh, since I haven't really gotten to use those toy neef guns I was thinking that maybe I should do the running and Tanner can do the other half of the race." Savannah answered
"Sounds likes a good idea to mes, asides I've had lots of practice with those guns it's like a peachy of cake when you have five olderer brothers to play with." Tanner grinned, proudly holding up three fingers, which of course was the incorrect amount, to show how many brothers he had.
"What about you guyses?" Savannah asked in return
"Hmm well I don't think either of us are the bestest at running with me just never really being a great runner and Dilly only just having started walking and running a while ago." Tommy answered
"Yeah, well I think you should still be the ones to do the running Tommy." Dil replied
"Are you sures, Dil?" Tommy asked
"Uh huh, we can only both do our bestest!" Dil nodded in response
"Yeah, Dil's right i'm not the bestest runner neither but I'll do it." Savannah chimed in
In the next moment the two teams and Timmy arrived at the starting line as he turned to the teams.
"Alright whichever ones of yous is gonna go up on the playset, go and stands over by the playset stairs. Runners, you stay here and get ready for me to give the signal to start." Timmy commanded
Following Timmy's orders, Savannah and Tommy made their way behind the line to wait for the signal while Dil and Tanner toddled their way over to the playset stairs. Glancing between the toddlers, Timmy figured they were ready to go as he got into position to set off the final race. With a final imagine sequence starting up again, Timmy was once again dressed in a referee uniform holding a starting gun to the sky.
"This is it folks, the final event of the 'Lympics as a whole. For this final race, we have the two lastest teams: Tommy and Dil Pickles on one team and Savannah Green & Tanner McNulty on the other team. Who will win the winter 'lympics? We will soon knows!" Teddy announced to the crowd
Upon Teddy finishing up his announcement, it panned back to Timmy who was given the okay to final start the final race.
"On your marks, get set...GO!" Timmy said, firing off the starting gun in the air as he yelled out for the babies to go
With that, Tommy and Savannah both took off running down the playground sidewalk as fast as they possibly could. The others sitting on the sandbox edge cheered for their friends, curious as to how the race was going to end. Savannah began pulling ahead as she got closer to the playset with Tommy not too far behind on her tail. However, unknowingly, Savannah ended up stepping on a patch of ice on the sidewalk that hadn't fully been cleared out causing her to slip and fall on her back right as Tommy passed her.
"Oooh and it looks like Savannah has taken a slip and slides on the ice!" Teddy announced as the imaginary crowd let out their oohs
Luckily Savannah didn't seem to have any serious injury from falling but boy did it still hurt. Under normal circumstances she very likely would have cried to alert the nearest adult to come and comfort her but, seeing as she didn't want to ruin her and Tanner's chances at winning the 'Lympics, she picked herself up as she kept running to the parkset. Tommy, of course, ended up getting to the playset first as he tagged Dil, panting out of breath as he fell back into the snow. At the same time, Dil began making his way up the playset stairs as Tanner, nervous that they were going to lose, looked over at Savannah.
"And it looks like Dil Pickles has taken the lead! Will he beat Tanner and Savannah before Tanner even gets to climb up?" Teddy asked
"Come on, hurry up we're losing!" Tanner yelled in frustration
"I'm doing...the bestest that I can! You're not... the one that falleded down!" Savannah replied between breaths
Savannah finally got over to Tanner as she tagged him allowing him to begin climbing up the stairs. Of course, with having a slight head start, Dil was already half of the way up the stairs as Tanner began his climb up. Dil managed to get to the top where Todd and Ty were waiting with the nerf guns as Todd handed one to Dil. Taking the gun, Dil then toddled over to the slide to slide down as Tanner finished his climb up to take the other gun. Making it to the bottom of the slide, Dil then made his way over to the rocking horse nearby with Tanner sliding down moments later and running to catch up. When both toddlers got over to the rocking horse, they noticed Terry was there rocking the playground toy to make it harder to hit for the two.
"Looks like it's anyones game now folks!" Teddy announced
Both babies stood at a distance holding up their nerf guns to try and somewhat aim at the moving target as they each took a shot at the rocking horse with Tanner's dart being orange and Dil's being red. Unfortunately, neither of them managed to hit the horse as they were slightly off. Taking another attempt each toddler yet again missed the horse by a hair.
"Ooh it looks like both of the teams are having trouble hitting the rocking horsey!" The two could hear Teddy announce condescendingly
Both toddlers huffed in frustration as they prepared to take one more shot. This time however, one of the darts did actually connect and stuck to the horse. Panning over to the horse the color of the dart was revealed; it was Tanner's!
"Ladies and gentlyman, Tanner and Savannah are the winners of the Winter 'Lympics! Teddy bellowed out
"Yay! We won, we won!" Tanner bounced around happily hearing that he actually managed to win the 'Lympics for Savannah and himself
The others gathered around as they all congratulated and cheered for Savannah and Tanner.
"Nice job Tanner, you did great." Teddy congratulated his younger brother
"It was such a close one with the race too!" Kimi exclaimed
"Mhm, everyone did their bestests and we had lots of fun toos!" Tommy chimed in
"Yeah!" Phil and Lil exclaimed in agreement
"Did you guys see how close I gots with my darts?" Dil asked, proud that he was fairly close with his shots even if he didn't win
"Yeah! You and Tanner both did great." Savannah replied
Calming down from the event, the entire group began playing in the snow together with the McNultys, with the exception of Tanner, having a snowball fight, Phil and Lil making snow angels again, and everyone else help making an igloo. Savannah and Tanner were collecting more snow for the igloo as they each carried back a handful.
"Oh yeah, I meanded to ask, are you okays from when you falleded?" Tanner asked
"Oh, yeah! I'm okay no big boo boos." Savannah nodded as she giggled, "You're not that bad of a kid, are you sure you're a McNulty?" Savannah jokingly asked
"Wha-of course I am! Just cause I pologized to you doesn't mean i'm gonna be nice to yous all the time now." Tanner stammered, sticking his tongue out at the other toddler
Savannah threw a snowball in Tanner's face in retaliation as she laughed "Yeah, I knows, your brothers would find it sumspiculous if you were. Don't worry even if you're never nice to me again. I will always know you're actually a nice kid."
"Oh yeah, well you're still a dumb girl who can't even throws a snowball right!" Tanner exclaimed, throwing a snowball in Savannah's direction hitting her back as to put on his normal front of the normal McNulty behavior.
All the kids continued to play in the snow until finally it was time for them to leave for the day as the Rugrats and McNultys parted ways. Stu brought the kids back to the Java Lava where each of the babies got some hot chocolate to drink and warm up before they all went home for the evening and soon got to sleep in their nice and warm beds after having such an eventful day.
What other shenanigans will the Rugrats get into next? Find out next time!
