Here's chapter 11 everybody.
Chapter 11: A Massive Submarine.
At their lair, Dan and Dana were looking through the time screen to see what Team Phantom are up as they continue to encounter factions of their army during their shifts to protect Amity Park and prevent them from escaping out of Amity Park limits to cause more problems to Earth.
"Look at them. They think they can hold our army off. It won't be long now before they can't contain them." Dan said.
Dana then look at the screen before seeing Manfred and the Phantom Blasters.
"It's a shame that dear Manfred and the Phantom Blasters are working with them. We should have killed them when we had the chance." Dana said.
"Don't worry, sister. When I get the Staff back and completely fixed, we will correct our mistakes from last time." Dan said.
Dan and Dana continued to look at the screen before Dana noticed that Danny and Dani aren't around.
"Say, where's our once pathetic past selves?" Dana asked.
Dan then wave his hand to change the time screen before it shows Danny and Dani on the Quinjet.
"They're not at Amity Park? They have abandoned their team. This is ironic!" Dana said with a grin.
"I don't know, Dana. They seem to be wearing those Air Force flight suits. Maybe they're heading somewhere to get support from the Air Force, probably to engage against our powerful air force." Dan said.
"I don't know, but those worthless human fighter pilots won't stand a chance against ours." Dana said with a evil chuckle.
Suddenly, Fright Knight appeared before bowing before them.
"My lieges, while the Staff is being fixed, I should informed you that a natural ghost portal has formed outside the lair.
"Where on Earth does it lead to?" Dan asked.
"Some desert region. Went to fly around briefly. It has formed at Egypt, about 200 miles south from the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea." Fright Knight said.
"Interesting." Dan said before getting a idea. "Is there any towns nearby?"
"I did saw one small Egyptian town." Fright Knight replied.
"Very well then. Fright Knight, prepare our air force and order them to fly through that natural portal. It's time we give Danny and Danielle a test." Dan said with a evil grin.
"Very well, my liege." Fright Knight said.
"Coming, Dana?" Dan asked with a grin.
"You go ahead, dear brother. I want to see what Danny and Danielle are up to." Dana said.
"Very well, then. Let me know what they are doing." Dan said before leaving Dana as she continues to look at the time screen.
Danny and Dani were piloting the Quinjet as they were closing in on Tyndall Air Force Base.
"I can't believe the Guys in White are still around. I thought we got rid of them 8 years ago." Dani said.
"I thought the same too, Dani. They don't know when to give up." Danny said.
"Well hopefully we can take care of this large Guys in White faction quickly." Dani said.
"I hope so. I wonder how large this faction has to be to get the Air Force involved?" Danny said.
"Hopefully we'll find out when we arrive at Tyndall." Dani said.
"Yeah, but yeah, hopefully it's quick. We still have to stop Dan and Dana." Danny said.
"You think the rest of the team will be okay while we're gone?" Dani asked.
"Well you and the team did well protecting Amity Park when I was on the run. They should be alright." Danny replied.
"True." Dani said.
"Alright, we're nearing our designation." Danny said.
After a few minutes, Danny and Dani arrived at the Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. They parked the Quinjet at the tarmac before being greeted by Tyndall base personnel, including Base Commander, Thomas Moore as well as Jacob's cousin Damian.
'Hey, Commander Moore, Damian. It's good to see you two again." Danny said.
"Likewise, Danny. I like to apologize for having to pull you two away from your current ghost situation." Moore said.
"If this Guys in White is a big faction and a threat, got to get rid of them." Danny said.
"Say, Damian, how's Brooke?" Dani asked.
"Brooke is doing alright, she'll like to see you all and Jacob sometime. How is Jacob doing?" Damian asked.
"Jacob's alright. He along with Sam are in charge of the team at the moment." Dani replied.
"That's good. By the way, congratulations on the engagement, Danny." Damian said.
"Thanks, Damian." Danny said.
"Anyway, wish we can catch up but we got business to do." Moore said.
"Right. Danny, Danielle, let's head for the briefing room. Time is critical." Damian said.
"Lead the way, man." Danny said.
Damian then leads Danny and Dani to the briefing room where they see familiar faces of Booker, Darius, Daniel, Jessica and Bruno, the members of Reaper Squadron. They noticed that Drake is missing, but they also noticed another USAF officer in the room. The USAF officer is a Brigadier General who is wearing his dress blues. He had light blue eyes, light blonde hair and had a stern look on his face. The General then noticed Danny and Dani and couldn't help but stare at them, especially Dani. Dani noticed the General staring at her and a little bit felt uneasy but eventually focus on other matters while the general is still waiting for a connection.
"Great to see you again, Danny and Danielle." Booker said.
"You too, Springman." Danny said.
"Glad to see you all again, Reaper Squadron." Dani said.
"Same can be said to you two, Phantom Twins." Jessica said.
"Anyway, still wonder why you all called us in for this Guys in White threat." Danny asked.
"Not to mention, where's Drake?" Dani asked.
"Drake had a little training mishap a few weeks back. Had to eject from his aircraft as a result." Booker replied.
"Omega still hasn't recovered?" Damian asked.
"He has, but the doctor won't let him fly." Daniel replied.
"Thought as much." Damian said.
"How much longer are you going to make me wait?" the Brigadier General asked.
"Who's the self-important stiff?" Dani asked.
"He'll hear." Darius said.
"And he really is quite important." Daniel said.
Suddenly, the General managed to get a connection as a profile picture of a analyst from the CIA appears on the screen. The CIA analyst was a dark skinned man who had black hair, brown eyes, a beard and wearing glasses, and a white collared shirt.
"We're connected. Ready now, sir." the CIA analyst said on the comlink as the General sighed.
"I'm Brigadier General Aaron Hawkins. I'm in charge of this operation. Our objective is to capture an advanced Guys in White submarine in harbor near the Egyptian town of Arish at the Sinai Peninsula. Rogued Guys in White forces have built and modified the harbor facilities and use them to resupply and maintenance a massive submarine." General Hawkins said.
"For those that don't know, this submarine is 495 meters long. It also has a width of 116 meters and a submerged displacement of 810,000 tonnes. It's a super-sized nuclear submarine powered by two liquid metal cooled reactors." the CIA analyst said on the comlink as screen shows a projection of a submarine.
"495 meters long?!" Danny asked in shock.
"I never thought a submarine like that is possible." Dani said in shock as well.
"I guess it really is huge. So, who's the submarine expert?" Jessica asked.
"Joseph Knight. I'm an CIA analyst from Advanced Weapons Analysis." Joseph replied.
"Why isn't he here?" Jessica asked.
"Because he doesn't need to be. He can perform his analysis at his office." Booker replied.
"We've got ourselves an armchair detective." Bruno said with a chuckle.
"Continue." Booker said.
"I have come to call this super-submarine 'the Phonoi'. The Phonoi is a submarine... and yet it can stage aircraft operations like a carrier. It also boasts some serious firepower with its two main ecto-railguns. Their range is over 400 kilometers." Joseph said.
"A real monster, if there ever was one." Daniel said.
"We do have ghost monsters." Danny said.
"The sub's force projection capabilities are equivalent to a carrier strike group. Furthermore, it can approach underwater or use aircraft and railguns to attack outside the enemy's range. It has an unusual history, befitting such a ship. It was built by the Guys in White, with funding from the US government and wealthy individuals who contribute to the GIW. The biggest contributor is the criminal Vlad Masters and his company DALV, who has contributed since the late 1990s and is responsible for building the sub's main ecto-railguns." Joseph said.
"Vlad funded the building of this submarine and made those railguns?!" Dani asked in shock.
"Not surprising since he was a close ally of the Guys in White. And great, another thing to remind us of that fruitloop. Wonder what else he funded, especially against me." Danny said.
"Anyway, It was launched 15 years ago. However, right before the Dis-asteroid Incident the following year, it went MIA. It was later found on the bottom of the ocean by chance, and of the 356 crewmen, 330 were rescued. Here's the question. For how many days was the Phonoi underwater? It was 698 days." Joseph said.
"Woah." Daniel said.
"They were down there two years?" Dani asked.
"They were on the sea floor, at 15 degrees. Afterwards, when the crew learn of the Guys in White's fall and Danny Phantom being hailed a world hero, they went rogue and would continue to avoid capture, make contact with any remaining GIW factions, as well as launch attacks against any ghosts that appear through natural portals." Joseph said.
"So why are they suddenly appearing now?" Bruno asked.
"I suspect it has to do with the recent ghost situation at Amity Park since Danny and Dani Phantom's evil selves are involved, and the GIW's grudge against Team Phantom." Joseph replied.
"Typical." Dani said.
"Huh. Okay, so we just blow up the thing?" Danny asked.
"We capture it. Don't make me repeat myself. We've had reports from local sources that there are weapons of mass destruction aboard the Phonoi." General Hawkins said.
"Source?" Joseph asked before his feed disconnects.
"If we can secure that evidence, we can find the remaining Guys in White factions." General Hawkins said.
"This will be a joint American-Egyptian operation. The US Navy and Egyptian Navy has dispatched a fleet including a US landing ship to capture the Phonoi while the Egyptian Army is moving to surround the Guys in White ground forces. The Egyptian Air Force will also join alongside us for this operation. A natural ghost portal has also formed near the area of operations and confirmed from Team Phantom's satellites that a massive squadron of ghost fighters are flying towards the area. Their intentions are unknown. Our mission is to secure air superiority and protect this assault-and-capture task force." Booker said.
"If we take too long, they'll scuttle the sub. The fleet will commence its actions while we seize the skies." General Hawkins said.
"Wouldn't it be risky to bring the fleet in before we secure air superiority?" Dani asked.
"That is none of your concern." General Hawkins replied.
"So basically, you're putting our fleet and the Egyptian fleet in danger for political games." Danny said.
"You're lucky you're not military because you would've taught how to address superiors in boot camp." General Hawkins said sternly.
"... An US Navy EW squadron will be deployed. Their ESM will be a valuable asset. Stay within their range and you'll have a significant advantage over your enemies. The ETA for the EW aircraft is the same as H-hour." Booker said.
"Only Phantom Squadron and Reaper 2 and 6 will sortie." General Hawkins said.
"Woah, I have to sit this one out?" Daniel asked.
"Wait, Springman, you're not coming?!" Jessica asked.
"I'll be assisting the brigadier general at HQ." Booker replied.
"This is by no means a difficult mission. Your wingman and squadron commander's absence shouldn't change that." General Hawkins said.
"After the mission, head for Aviano Air Base. The rest of the squadron and the brigadier general will meet you all there." Booker said.
"Dismissed." General Hawkins said.
With that, everyone left, with Danny, Dani, Darius and Jessica heading for their F-22s.
"Glad to be flying with you again Danny and Danielle." Darius said.
"You too, Tempel." Danny said.
"Ready to kick some butt and fly that blue sky again." Jessica asked with a grin.
"You bet, girlfriend." Dani said with a grin. "Anyway, you guys head for your planes, need to speak with Danny really quick."
"Alright, we'll see you two in the air." Darius said before he and Jessica left.
"What you need to speak to me about?" Danny said.
"It's about that general. Have you noticed how he looked at us, especially at me? I didn't like it at all. I have a bad feeling about him." Dani said.
"I notice that too. Also noticed that he disconnected that CIA agent's call after he asked for a source?" Danny asked.
"I noticed that too. Something is fishy and sketchy about that general. Like I said, something is not right. It's like he knows something. I don't know, I don't trust him." Dani said.
"Well, let's try not to worry about that. Let's get to our planes." Danny said.
As Danny and Dani heads for their F-22 Raptors, they were unaware that General Hawkins was surveying them and heard their conversation. He then grabs his cellphone before making a call.
"Hello... Yes sir, the Phantom Twins are here, especially Danielle... Put her on the line... Yes, Ms. Reyes, the plan is about to go into action... Yes I contacted those two before the briefing and gave them the coordinates just like I got from my source of intel... I told them a retreat is required should their planes be damaged... No, none of the pilots has suspected anything. The Phantoms however do... Yes, ma'am... I'll keep you updated... Alright I need to go, goodbye Ms. Reyes." General Hawkins said before hanging up.
General Hawkins then left his hiding spot as Booker caught up to him.
"There you are, sir. Ready for the mission?" Booker asked.
"Let's get this over with." General Hawkins said sternly before following Booker.
Meanwhile, Danny and Dani has already put on their helmets before doing pre-flight checks and climbing into the F-22 cockpits. The ground crew help the two strap themselves to their ejection seats before they turn put on their oxygen masks and turn on their mics.
"Dani, can you read me?" Danny asked.
"Read you loud and clear, Danny." Dani replied.
"Awesome to be flying the F-22 again." Danny asked.
"Especially against the Guys in White. Hope we can capture that submarine." Dani said.
"Clear!" Danny and Dani said, warning everyone near by that they're gonna start the engines.
Danny and Dani then powered up the F-22s two Pratt & Whitney F119-PW-100 jets engines. Danny and Dani then push a button to close the canopy and push another to turn on the Heads Up Display. They then look out at the ground crew to see their thumbs up. Danny and Dani gives the thumbs up back before two ground crew members gives them permission to taxi. Danny and Dani then taxi their planes and met up with Darius and Jessica, who were already taxiing their F-22s. Phantom Squadron taxis to the runway first and the control tower contacts them.
"Phantom 1, Phantom 2. You're cleared for takeoff." the controller said.
Danny and Dani put their afterburners to full throttle and throttled down the runway. After a few seconds, they've reached takeoff speed and became airborne. Danny and Dani then put their landing gear back inside their planes. After a few minutes, Darius and Jessica followed suit and took off as well before getting in formation and joined with Danny and Dani.
"Phantom Squadron, Reaper 2 and Reaper 6. Specified altitude reached. Restrictions lifted. Good luck out there." the controller said.
With that, Danny, Dani, Darius and Jessica put their F-22's afterburners to full throttle and starts the long flight to Egypt.
And that's the end of the chapter. Well, looks like Danny and Dani has two problems now. The Guys in White, with a massive submarine in their possession, and Dan and Dana's airpower. Things won't look good for them. And General Hawkins. do you all find him fishy? Who did he call? Anyway, what will happen in Egypt. Find out next time in the next chapter. Please review. :)
