Here's chapter 22 everybody.
Chapter 22: An Enemy to be Stopped.
It's been one day since the raid at Ceuta. In the past 24 hours, Joseph has been gathering intel from yesterday's raid, trying to figure out what the resupplying of the Phonoi, where it's going and what's Matias' objective. His partner Chloe walked in with many papers. Chloe, a woman who had long brown hair, brown eyes, wears glasses and was wearing a business like outfit. She has been Joseph's partner ever since he was assigned to track the Phonoi after the Guys in White's fall.
"Joseph. We have the intel on everything you need to know regarding yesterday's raid." Chloe said.
"Excellent. Let's see what we got." Joseph said.
Joseph began looking through the papers. At one point, he got wide eyed when he realized why the Phonoi resupplied at Ceuta and escaped 10 minutes later, as well as one missing piece of information regarding the submarine's design.
"Is this confirmed?" Joseph asked.
"Yes. Also for precaution, I put in the address of a former Guys in White agent who design the submarine. He could help us on that." Chloe replied.
"Alright, also, have we determined where we can intercept it?" Joseph asked.
"So far, we're narrowing down to a few locations." Chloe said.
Joseph then look at the one detail that horrifies him.
"If Matias Hamilton successfully completes his plan, then it's gonna be the end of the world as we know it." Joseph said.
"I think it's best the Phantom Twins should know." Chloe said.
"Alright, get all this intel on the computer. I have to brief the Phantom Twins and the Reaper Squadron in a hour." Joseph said.
"On it, Joseph." Chloe said.
Meanwhile, back at Aviano, Danny, Dani and the rest of Reaper Squadron are at the briefing room as they are waiting for Joseph to connect so that they can hear any new intel regarding the Phonoi. After a few minutes, Joseph eventually gets connected.
"Glad to hear you again, Joseph. What's the news on the Phonoi?" Danny asked.
"We've acquired important intel from the mission." Joseph said as a map of northern Africa and Europe is shown on the screen. "For example... The shells from long-range anti-air fire came in on depressed trajectories. Look. The estimated energy output of the railgun is 500 megajoules at least. Fired at minimum-energy trajectory, range is over 3000. They hid a powerful rail cannon aside from their main guns." Joseph said.
"It's almost like Stonehenge from Ace Combat." Dani said.
"A mobile Stonehenge." Danny said.
"And also... this. The Phonoi was in harbor at Ceuta for approximately ten minutes. They couldn't have loaded SLBMs. They loaded something smaller." Joseph said.
"Smaller?" Jessica asked.
"What is smaller and yet a powerful weapon?" Joseph asked.
"Well the Tetrahedron is small and a powerful weapon but that's been destroyed, so I don't know." Danny said.
"Tactical nukes." Darius said.
"Yeah that's true." Damian said.
"Close! The answer is tactical nuclear shells." Joseph replied as stats of the Phonoi's nuclear warhead info is shown on the screen.
"Nuclear shells?!" Jessica said in disbelief.
"No way." Dani said.
"You gotta be kidding me?! I didn't think nuclear shells was even possible!" Danny said in disbelief as well.
"Hey, hey, he got that question right." Daniel said.
"Nah, I missed the 'shell' part." Darius said.
"Quiet!" Bruno said.
"Any idea where they might attack?" Damian asked.
"They'll likely attack possible locations for a natural ghost portal to appear, one of them being the South Pole." Booker said.
"Their target's Amity Park, the ghost capital." Joseph said as the map on the screen points to Amity Park, Minnesota.
"What?!" Danny and Dani said in shock.
"And if they get their calculations correct, the hypocenter, or ground zero, will be at Fenton Works, where the Fenton portal and Danny and Danielle's family and friends are located. A perfect way for Matias to get revenge on the Phantom Twins." Joseph said.
"They want a nuclear war with the Ghost Zone?" Daniel asked.
"No! It's much worst!" Dani said.
"Are they crazy?! If they nuke Amity Park and destroy the city and the portal, it will also destroy the Ghost Zone and Earth will be destroyed too! We already prove that already! Not to mention two natural ghost portals that Dan created are still active around City Hall." Danny said.
"Here's a question. What's a situation where nuclear deterrence doesn't work?" Joseph asked.
"Quiz guy, I've had enough of this!" Jessica said in annoyance.
"Only if terrorists have the nukes." Darius replied.
"Correct!" Joseph said.
"Dang, Tempel." Daniel said.
"Hey, I'm good at trivia games." Darius said.
"But, we're after a Guys in White submarine, not terrorists." Dani said.
"No, he's right. HQ tells me the Guys in White's justification is that the Phonoi mutinied. 'As such, the Guys in White cannot be held responsible for the submarine's actions'." Booker said.
"Dang." Jessica said.
"So they intend on dropping a nuke on Amity Park, Minnesota." Joseph said.
"That's a new low of them." Dani said.
"Agreed." Danny said.
"All because that captain wants to destroy the ghosts and get revenge on you two? That's pretty pathetic." Damian said.
"Tell me about it." Dani said.
"Here's a question for you, analyst. Just exactly who are we fighting?" Bruno asked as a picture of Matias Hamilton appears on the screen.
"Correct term is 'terrorist' or 'irregular military', but I have a different name for them. 'An enemy to be stopped at all costs'." Joseph said.
"Correct." Booker said.
"Should Dani and I tell the rest of the team about this nuclear threat?" Danny asked.
"At the moment, no. I will take care of that. I also have some leads regarding the submarine's design which I'm about to head out now. At the moment, it's best you remain at stand by." Joseph replied.
Afterwards, Joseph ends the connection before Danny and Dani look at each other with worry.
"This is getting worst and worst. Hope they track the submarine down fast." Dani said.
"Never thought that anyone would ever try to nuke Amity Park, especially from the Guys in White." Danny said.
"Listen, Danny and Danielle. I know how much your town means to you and that your love ones are there. We just have to let Joseph do his job. I know he'll give us info on where we can stop the submarine." Booker said.
"You're right. Once again, we just have to wait." Danny said.
"So what should we do in the mean time, Danny?" Dani asked.
"Pray the Rosary? Gonna need help from Our Lady and God with this one." Danny said.
"Definitely." Dani said.
Meanwhile, at Clockwork's Lair, Clockwork was watching his time screens while Kayla was also doing the same to monitor the ongoing war between the Coalition and the Harvesters. Clockwork was watching potential outcomes on the on going threats of Dan, Dana and the Phonoi. Kayla then noticed Clockwork watching the outcomes of the submarine, which she has seen the many outcomes before. She approaches Clockwork with concern.
"The day of that battle, that Danny and Danielle have to face that submarine as the Humans called. It's coming soon, right?" Kayla asked.
"Yes, Your Highness. Very soon, Danny and Danielle will face the Phonoi, and as said before, their actions and leadership, and with the help of their fighter pilot friends and a CIA agent, will decide the fate of this planet and the Ghost Zone." Clockwork said.
"I hope those terrible outcomes doesn't happen. I know Danny and Danielle can stop it before it can achieve their plan. In all my years, I've seen terrible weapons, some that can destroy planets and their Ghost Zone dimensions. I just never thought of these nuclear weapons were that destructive from what I was told by Danny." Kayla said.
"Don't forget, Team Phantom killed your sister with a nuclear weapon. Well ecto-nuclear weapon. So you know how powerful they are." Clockwork said.
"I wonder how the Coalition would feel if they ever saw this nuclear weapon. I'm sure they would never thought the Humans were capable of having or developing such weapons. Still, never thought someone would think of using a weapon like that for the purpose of destroying the Ghost Zone and the ghosts like myself. If only they can get pass their ignorance and realize the consequences of destroying the Ghost Zone and the fate they place upon their planet." Kayla said with concern.
"Well we can only count on Danny and Danielle to get the job done." Clockwork said.
"And I suppose you can't tell me the actual result?" Kayla asked.
"I can't. Only fate can decide. But remember, I know everything." Clockwork replied.
"I know. Hopefully they find that submarine soon. We still got Dan and Dana to stop." Kayla said.
"And we still need to wait on the arrival of my Supernatural Entities." Clockwork said.
"Well, we better get back to our duties." Kayla said.
Meanwhile, Joseph and Chloe arrive at Amity Park and immediately head for Fenton Works to meet with Team Phantom. Joseph knocks on the door before Maddie answered the door.
"Hello, can I help you?" Maddie asked.
"Hello, Mrs. Fenton. My name is Joseph Knight and this is my partner Chloe. We're CIA analysts from Advanced Weapons Analysis and we're here because of the Phonoi." Joseph said.
"Right, please come in." Maddie said, gesturing Joseph and Chloe to come inside. "Jack, call the rest of the team."
"On it, sweetheart." Jack said.
Once the rest of the team gathered in the living room and Maddie explained who Joseph and Chloe are, everyone then listen to what the two CIA agents has to say.
"So, what's going on with the submarine, Mr. Knight? Danny and Dani has told us about it but not much." Maddie asked.
"As you all know, Danny, Dani and the USAF's Reaper Squadron has been working hard to track down the Guys in White's submarine the Phonoi. Myself and my colleagues are also working hard to track its whereabouts since the raid in Ceuta. We're here because it's best to inform you that you all and this town is in grave danger. Not just the town, but both the Earth and Ghost Zone is at risk and we need to work together to counter the Phonoi's threat." Joseph said.
"What do you mean the Earth and Ghost Zone is in danger? What is the Guys in White planning?" Sam asked, very concerned.
Joseph and Chloe will then proceed to tell the team what has been happening and Matias Hamilton's evil plans.
Meanwhile, somewhere under the ocean, the Phonoi continues to travel, continuing on course in order to get within firing range to strike Amity Park.
And that's the end of the chapter. Well, now you all know Matias' true plans. He intends to nuke Amity Park to get revenge on Team Phantom and to put a end to the ghosts, at least that's what he thinks. Time is now ticking. Well, what will happen next? Stay tuned to find out and please review. :)
