Here's chapter 26 everybody!
Chapter 26: Final Stand.
Phantom and Reaper Squadron throttle up their F-22s and heads to attack the Phonoi once more after Matias had lied about surrendering and activated the rail cannon in a attempt to nuke Amity Park. However, Danny fired on the cannon's barrel, causing it to adjust its firing angle by just a few degrees, causing it to miss the target. Now Matias is furious and can still be heard by Phantom and Reaper Squadron on a open channel.
"What happened?!" Hamilton asked.
"Ha! That's a blatant violation of orders you jerk!" Dani said.
"Load the next shell!" Hamilton angrily ordered.
"Aye sir!" a Guys in White Phonoi crew member said.
As Danny, Dani and Reaper Squadron began their final attack on the Phonoi, Booker then contacted the entire squadron to give new orders.
"All aircraft. Destroy the Phonoi!" Booker ordered.
"Roger that." Danny said.
"Wilco!" Dani said.
"Alright." Jessica said.
"Wilco." Darius said.
"Wilco." Daniel said.
"Understood." Bruno said.
"Let's do it." Damian said.
"Aim for the base of the rail cannon!" Joseph said.
"Alright. We'll take care of it." Danny said.
Meanwhile, as Danny and Dani began their final attack, they noticed the submarine has fired a large barrage of missiles from their backup VLSs. At the same time, the Phonoi's crew tries to adjust the cannon's angle to the right position but can't since it was damaged.
"FCS error! Can't raise the elevation of the barrel!" a Guys in White Phonoi crew member said.
"Phantom Twins in the sky is a sign of ill omen...!" Hamilton said.
"Captain?!" Logan asked.
"All slow ahead! Flood the aft trim tanks!" Hamilton ordered in anger.
"Sir the boat will sink aft first!" Logan warned.
"And that'll give the gun the elevation it needs! Hehe!" Hamilton laughed as he has now gone insane.
The Phonoi started to sink aft first as well as firing their backup ecto-railguns at Danny and Dani, hoping to shoot them down, catching Danny and Dani off guard. Matias contacts them.
"Don't you see, Phantom Twins? Ten million lives or more will be saved from the ghosts, at the cost of a mere million lives!" Matias said.
"You liar! You just want to kill people and the ghosts! We won't let you!" Joseph said.
"And you want revenge on me by killing my family and friends, and you'll destroy the Earth if you nuke Amity Park and the Ghost Zone! Not gonna happen on my watch!" Danny said as he shoot missiles at the Phonoi while avoiding the railgun shots.
Danny and Dani continue to fire on the Phonoi's last defenses while evading the railgun shots while the Phonoi's crew continue to prep the rail cannon.
"Supercapacitor charge at 45%!" a Guys in White Phonoi crew member said.
"Pitch angle at plus 2 degrees!" another Guys in White Phonoi crew member said as Matias manically laughs.
"Danny, Danielle, you two put an end to this!" Booker said.
"Don't hesitate! They quit being soldiers the moment they faked their surrender!" Bruno said.
"They've gone mad!" Dani said.
"Fox Two!" Danny said as he fires two missiles at one of the Phonoi's remaining backup VLSs as Matias continues to preach his plan.
"A powerful boat, a powerful gun, powerful ammunition! Add to that lots of people, all the spectral abominations and a precise aim! Then sprinkle death over all of it, and the formula is complete!" Matias declared.
"You're nothing more than a mass murderer!" Joseph sneered.
"And considering your sub's name, it's a perfect fit!" Danny said.
"Male personification of murder!" Dani said.
"Then indulge me! What makes you three and I any different?! You want to kill the three hundred men on this boat to save a million and those spectral abominations. How is that any different?!" Matias sneered.
"Danny, Danielle, give him the answer! Have him take it to the bottom of the ocean!" Joseph said.
"Let's do it, Danny!" Dani said.
"Let's go!" Danny said.
Matias continue to laugh manically as Danny and Dani continue to avoid the Phonoi's railguns.
"Don't you see?! Don't you see?! Hehe. Landing a clean shot on a difficult target! That is what makes it elegant! That is true beauty!" Matias said.
"Finished him off, Phantoms!" Joseph said.
Danny and Dani starts to attack the base of the rail cannon in order to destroy it.
"Fox Two!" Danny said, firing two missiles.
Danny's missiles managed to get another hit on the cannon's base but not enough to destroy it. Danny turns away from the Phonoi while avoiding the railgun shots.
"Fox Two!" Dani said, also firing two missiles.
Dani's missiles makes their hit on the rail cannon's base, but still not enough to destroy it. Dani also turns away from the Phonoi while avoiding railgun fire.
"Good! Your attacks are hitting the base of the rail cannon!" AWACS Goodfellow said.
"We just made a statement right there, didn't we, Danny?" Dani asked.
"Not yet!" Danny replied.
The Phonoi's crew continue to charge up the rail cannon.
"At plus 4!" a Guys in White Phonoi crew member said.
"Everyone, grab something!" Logan said.
"At 60%!" another Guys in White Phonoi crew member informed.
"Alas, you don't see, Phantom Twins! Of course you wouldn't!" Matias said.
Danny and Dani then positioned their F-22s in front of the Phonoi in order to make one last attack to the rail cannon with 10 seconds left before it fires. The Phonoi's crew then sees that the rail cannon is ready to fire.
"At plus 5!" a Guys in White Phonoi crew member said.
"At full charge!" another Guys in White Phonoi crew member said.
Matias then manically laughed before saying...
"Commence firing!"
Danny and Dani then gets a lock on the rail cannon's core.
"Fox Two!" Danny and Dani said as they fire missiles at the same time.
The missiles then head straight for the rail cannon's core, getting a direct hit, destroying it and preventing the Phonoi's nuclear attack on Amity Park.
"Direct hit!" Danny said.
"All right!" Dani said.
"Target hit! Target hit!" AWACS Goodfellow said.
"Oh yeah! That's the stuff, Phantoms!" Darius said.
"Confirming explosions! The rail cannon's been destroyed!" Jessica informed.
"Yeah, baby!" Daniel said.
"Yeah!" a female patrol aircraft pilot said.
"Yeah!" a patrol aircraft pilot said.
Danny and Dani then flew in formation as they see the Phonoi starting to blow itself apart from the inside as their strike on the Phonoi's rail cannon base cause a chain reaction that created multiple explosions across the magazines of the weapon emplacements. As they watch the explosions, they can hear Matias laughing as he has gone delusional.
"Don't you see? One million! One million lives!" Matias yelled.
Delusional to the end, Matias still clung on to his goal, spending his final moments laughing maniacally before the Phonoi's midship section was suddenly obliterated with a massive explosion at the base of the rail cannon, breaking the sub's hull into two as well as killing all onboard, including Logan and Matias, ending his machinations and the threat to Amity Park, the Ghost Zone and Earth once and for all.
"Whoa!" Danny said.
"The Phonoi's hull is severely damaged! No, it's completely split in two!" Bruno informed.
"They really pulled it off." Jessica said.
"And that's our final answer." Joseph said.
"Ha, ha, ha!" Dani laughed.
"And the Earth and Ghost Zone is saved once more." Danny said.
Afterwards, everyone watch as the bisected Phonoi begin to sink to the bottom of the ocean with all hands lost, before detonating underwater in a second massive explosion, sending a massive geyser of water high into the sky as Phantom and Reaper Squadron flew in formation. The pilots then survey the area where the Phonoi sink to see if they can make out any survivors but sees no one.
"I see loads of floating objects in the waves. I don't think there are any survivors, Springman." Bruno informed.
"Copy that. The enemy submarine has been destroyed. Operation is complete." Booker said.
"That was unbelievable. Just... all of it." Jessica said.
"It's over. The submarine threat is over. We saved the world and Ghost Zone again, Dani, and with Reaper Squadron's help." Danny said.
"That's right. Yeah." Dani said.
"There are some who send those around them to their doom. Like Captain Matias Hamilton, who was a devil incarnate. But there are others... Others who show to way to everyone else. Those who stand at the forefront to cast a light. Those who follow them can't help but feel that they're in the right hands. That they'll make it. This is an era where there isn't a singular answer like a quiz question. The world awaits a hero to keep the torch aloft, banishing the darkness." Joseph said.
"Quite the poet." Dani said.
"That's a story I'm gonna have to tell my kid." Bruno said.
"Joseph, you and Chloe that I heard are definitely invited to Sam and I's wedding. If Sam can hear me on this net, give the invitation." Danny said.
"All of Team Phantom heard the entire battle the entire time, Danny. Great job stopping the submarine. Now you and Dani need to come home. We still got to stop Dan and Dana and end their threat. And I will give Joseph and his partner Chloe the invites." Sam said.
"Excellent." Danny said.
"All aircraft and Joseph, the operation is complete. Return to base at Florida and get some rest. Oh man, finally time for some munchies. Could you hand me the burger over there please?" AWACS Goodfellow said.
"Once I get back to base, I'm heading to the mess hall." Dani said.
"You said it." Danny said.
"We got tankers on standby to refuel you all on your return trip to Florida. Springman will take off from Aviano soon and will debrief you after you arrive back to base." AWACS Goodfellow said.
"Roger that. All aircraft, let's head back home." Danny said.
Afterwards, Danny, Dani and Reaper Squadron begins the journey back to base.
And that's the end of the chapter. Well, Matias Hamilton's nuclear threat to Amity Park, the Ghost Zone and the entire planet has been put to a end once and for all. The Phonoi is no more. Now Danny and Dani can now solely focus back to putting an end to the threat of Dan and Dana once and for all. What will happen from this point forward, stay tuned to find out in the next chapter.
